Alas Blackstump is no more.
So after the AE2, Doug and now Blackstump have been trashed I get the impression that we have someone who is a few slices short amongst us.
The annoying thing about Blackstump as well as trashing the cache they had a good go at upturning and breaking all the rocks around the cache. Some of the rocks must weigh around the 60 kilogram mark.
I let you draw your own conclusions about that.
It looks like the only safe spots for our caches are in the harder terrains.

The hardest part about finding this cache was locating the right track in. Of course true to Hounddogs form we finally found it on the way out. Oh well needed that exercise. We found the cache looking a little bare somebody still wants to put rubbish in for swaps. Swapped an empty white out container for a dog lead and fishing lure.
Thanks Tangles

Top spot. We will go back for a swim in a few months. Took a workmate with me to find this one and he really enjoyed it.
Thanks

find number two, looked for this one by putting the co-ords in for shortcut first then for gz.when I got there I reckognised it, haven,t been here for years and could have kicked myself for not having a go after pheonix.Took my younger brother with me to show him what it,s all about(also alterior motiff but he didn,t know that).Got to gz and said to Justin(younger brother)well were here going by the gpsr and he immeadiately pointed to were it was while looking at me like come on mate your standing right next to it you dope.so after slapping him off the rock he was standing on(just kidding)signed the log took batteries and left fed-ex note holder-paperweight and little microcar.good one tangles.

What a fun hike! It was a nice easy trail to follow. The kids really enjoyed this one. Courtney, our 6 year old found it and left an unopened Happy Meal Toy in exchange for a little smiley pad of paper. Thanks! [^]

After purchasing an updated map and driving around for ages, I eventually found the entrance off the main road .
The tracks dissapear after a while and used the GPS to navigate to GZ. Found the cache pretty quickly. Took a phone holder, left a San Francisco cable car ticket.
There's plenty of water flowing and the pool is absouletly fantastic! Shame it's winter, will have to come back in summer for a swim.
On the way out, met a nice native walking her dog. After geomut and native dog exchanged rear-end sniffs, it was back on the trail and forging our way back through the scrub using the GPS to navigate.
Great spot Tangles.

Well, coming from the Canberra side, I had no end of problems trying to get anywhere even close to this cache. – All the roads marked on the map I had were DUDS! Determined not to give up, I drove around all the way to approach from the other side – success! Once on the track, things eventuated smoothly. Found the cache easily at ground zero. (In good condition too, unlike my previous find today). The pool looked really inviting, however I decided not to be tempted. Took a lizard, and left a power point converter. Thanks Tangles – I’ll be back another time to try the others close by – as I ran out of time.
Very good location if you keep your eyes open. Nearly missed the pool area - Romen saw the water just as everybody turned around to leave.
The 2 virgin geocachers had mega fun on this one.
Those damn spiders can give you a heart attack if you don't know where they are hiding though.
Left a roll of film and Alex took the SES Keyring and the Sinbad Fridge Magnet thingymagiggy.

Wandered down to this one after a difficult Speelo. Great walk and great swimming hole. Went for brief swim in the pool but had to get out before me 'nads froze.
Highly recommended. Took nothing left nothing.

Had no problems finding this one without the aid of the GPS for the last dozen meters, the hiding spot was obvious
Took the Bandaged bear and frog (EcoNic's third frog find for the day!), left some DRAM SIMM's and silicon bits.
We continued on to the very cool water hole, and suggest others do too, it's only a few minutes walk down the track. Will have to come back here in summer. There were a bunch of kids playing so we left them be.

We've had our eye on this cache for a while, but thought we'd wait and give Tangles the honor of our 100th cache. Our first cache many moons ago was a Tangles cache and now our 100th is a Tangles cache.
This was a popular place to visit today. We were the 3rd for the day. We were just too excited to wait for the others to log their finds. Once again we bumped into Ropes & Jumbuck who had just completed the cache. We took the shells and left some SES stuff..... Mr & Mrs Rat.

What a great spot, out the back of beyond!! Need to watch the funnel webs in the stumps. A find for Jumbuck who insisted on navigating today (but after Timber on the way home, will I let her again??). The locals sure are spoilt with such a great swimming hole. Met SES Rats on the way out, congrats on your 100th guys. My 50th was a Tangles (Speelo) earlier in the day! Left some sea shells, candle and GPS dashboard holder for the battery charger. Thanks, Tangles.

Certainly not a cache for arachnophobes. This was a fathers day outing for us, found by papa bear.
Great to see the recovery process after the fires.

Tangles certainly does seem to know all the good spots around here! I took the opportunity for an early morning stroll and found the cache with no worries. Good one Tangles.
Oky's mates braved the threatening rain to check out a cool creek and swimming hole. Found the black stump with ease but dropped a mobile phone whilst hiding from a plane circling overhead .
On the way home we noticed the mobile phone was missing and after a quick panic we did a Uey and headed back to find it - a much trickier job than geocaching because we didn't have any coordinates. As the light was fading fast we ran back to the stump and began a systematic search. We are pleased to report the phone was found, intact, wedged between two rocks by the creek . The cache gods must have been looking down on us.

Which black stump could it possibly be with the area still recovering from the Christmas fires there are plenty to choose from.
Not quick enough to get a virgin but in a way glad to be second as I was heading out to buy a compass this week and what should be the first swap item a compass, replaced the compass with a battery charger

Was initially puzzled by the name of this cache, since there was not a Steak Restaurant to be seen anywhere. Spotted the location from a distance of 35m (a new record) to liberate a design-a-mug and leave a calculator. Was able to get my compass back off Sucbadoo when he got one out of the cache.
Watch out for spiders in this area as we saw some in the leaf litter.

Just happened to be in the area and stumpled across the cache. Everything is black out here at 1820!! A favourite area.
Decided to be generous and swapped a silva compass for the matchbox car. The pirates beard is turning white.
Thanks Tangles##
