I had a few hours spare to walk around to find a few caches and look at the sights of Rome before we had to fly home and I headed to this interesting spot.

I checked out the obelisk and have sent my answers.

When I reached the square with the obelisk a big demonstration was going on, many people with flags and a lot of police taking care for them... So I couldn´ t get close to the pillar, but still hope to gathered all information right. No idea, what the demo was about....
I thank the owner for devoting an EC to this place!

Quel bonheur d’être à Rome. Ma dernière visite date de 3 ans et certains souvenir restent très forts de ce voyage sur la terre de mes racines.
C’est mon pays, je l’ai dans le sang et je l’aime. Ses habitants sont touchants, la langue m’émeut, les odeurs réveillent mes souvenirs d’enfance. Mes voyages en Italie ne sont jamais anodins et me procurent des émotions très fortes.
C’est la première année que je suis ici comme Géocacheur, cela apporte un plus au bonheur d’être ici.
A cet effet, je remercie les Owners (certains super actifs, ils se xxsreconnaîtrons) pour leur implication et le plaisir donné aux autres à travers leurs caches. Nous ne vous remercierons jamais assez.
jour 3ème et dernier jour dans la ville de tous les superlatifs. Quelle tristesse de partir. Nous reviendrons certainement pour jouir encore de la dolce vita.

Che felicità essere a Roma. La mia ultima visita è stata 3 anni fa e alcuni ricordi rimangono molto forti di questo viaggio sulla terra delle mie radici.
È il mio paese, ce l'ho nel sangue e lo amo. I suoi abitanti sono commoventi, la lingua mi commuove, gli odori svegliano i miei ricordi d'infanzia. I miei viaggi in Italia non sono mai banali e mi trasmettono emozioni molto forti.
Questo è il primo anno in cui sono qui come Geocacher, porta un piu alla felicità di essere qui.
A tal fine, ringrazio i proprietari (alcuni super attivi, si riconosceranno) per il loro coinvolgimento e il piacere dato agli altri attraverso i loro cache. Non vi ringraziamo mai abbastanza.

3° e ultimo giorno nella città di tutti i superlativi. Che tristezza partire. Torneremo sicuramente per goderci nuovamente la dolce vita.

Nous voici de retour dans le pays de Jules César, Christophe Colomb, Michel-Ange, Paganini, et pour être dans l’air récente sportive Totti, Buffon, Rossi j’arrête là car je pourrai en rajouter des lignes et des lignes. Auf unserer Schiffsreise haben wir eine Ausflug nach Rom unternommen.
Bei der Stadtführung sind wir auch an den Obelisk von Montecitorio vorbeigekommen und konnten dieses bestaunen.
Ein sehr schöner Ort mit sehr vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten.

Four day visit to Rome and took the opportunity to attempt some geocaches in amongst visiting some of the wonders of this city. Over the four days we walked a total of 52 miles visiting all the main iconic attractions plus some lesser known points of interest. We of course visited the Vatican City including a walk around the outside of the wall (after all it's not very often you can say you've walked around a whole country).

We set ourselves 15 earthcaches during our visit and this gave us a wonderful way of deciding our routes each day. We took in other caches on the way as we were passing.

A wonderful experience to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary ........

The last day of my Rome visit. Again I was on the move in this interesting city and again I visited the city center and some areas around it. A lot of usually big old buildings to see and also a lot of usually small caches to discover.

What a great birthday present: 4 days sightseeing in Rome, after 20 years again in this splendid city. The weather was beautiful, almost to warm, it was loud and very, very crowded, but absolutely great.
We managed to visit all sites we wanted to and did most of the ways by foot. With so many sights, the caching became almost a side issue, but we visited most of roman the earthcaches.
Thanks to the owners for showing us these interesting geological phenomenons.

We had a wonderful day exploring Rome, and every corner we turned brought us to another sight to see. Rome is an amazing city, and these earthcaches brought us to locations we might have otherwise missed. Thank you for creating this one, Erik7777.

Oggi abbiamo fatto una passeggiata in centro dove abbiamo ancora molti cache da recuperare, il tempo è splendido e fare anche un po' i turisti è sempre piacevole.
Per quanto mi riguarda, ho recuperato pochissimi tradizionali perché la maggior parte era inevitabilmente spariti, fortunatamente c'erano alcune earthcache da trovare e questo era uno di quelli recuperabili. Ringraziamo l'owner.

We visited Rome for few days with my wife and it is a fantastic place. A lot of great places to see, just wandering through the city is great. Although it was Easter holidays and crowds of people were everywhere, we enjoyed it a lot.

EC visited on our second day. Nice obelisk, we visited it only because of the EC and we enjoyed it.

FR: Lors de notre séjour de 4 jours à Rome (comme beaucoup de monde d'ailleurs) avec Mme Crapion , nous en profiterons pour visiter quelques caches.
Bien sûr, notre objectif est complètement ailleurs, à savoir visiter tout ce qu'il y a à voir à Rome. Et la "tâche "ne sera pas moindre, car au total nous parcourerons un peu plus de 60 kms à pied, allant d'un site à un autre!

Quant aux caches, on pourra très vite s'apercevoir que la plupart sont de petites, voire même de très petite taille et souvent très bien dissimulées.

Pred každou cestou mimo domácí souradnice se díváme, co zajímavého se v regionu, kde se budeme pohybovat, nechá odlovit a bude možné v prípade príznivé casové konstelace navštívit. Nejinak tomu bylo i pred šestidenní dovolenou v Ríme s návštevou Vatikánu. Hrubý plán byl pripraven, nejaké mysterky príp. multinky dopredu vylušteny nebo predlušteny. Naše dovolená nebyla postavena výhradne na lovu keší, ale ty predpripravené jsme si chteli odlovit a pokud se nejaká pripletla do cesty, tak záleželo na casu príp. míste, zda se ji podíváme na zoubek nebo ji proste jen tak mineme.
Jednou z tech predem plánovaných byla tato earthka venovaná obelisku Granito. Odpovedi odeslány, fotografie nahrány.

This weekend it was my birthday and Elo bought me plane tickets to Rome ! So off we went to spend two great days in the Italian capital ! The weather was wonderful not like winter at home !
We had an amazing weekend, we could visit all the main places in the city, Trevi fountain, spanish stairs, the pantheon, Vatican City, Colosseo, Villa Borghese and much more. Of course we could find a lot of caches during that time everywhere in the city. We also had great italian food.

This weekend we took a small three day get-away - away from rain, snow and cold weather in Denmark. The Plane tickets said: Roma, Italy

We really love this city, but haven't been here since we started geocaching. Therefore a great city full of new experiences!

On sunday we continued one of our real geocaching projects: More different cachetypes in Italy! We wanted to find a few new cachetypes, so we took a long walk in the city. On our way we solved different kinds of tasks, and since we really enjoy Earthcaches - this one was on todays list.

Dieses Wochenende war als Teamreise nach Italien der drei Cacher ohneZucker, Benediktator und Taragorn geplant. Wegen des langen Logeintrages bei gleich drei Namen musste ein Teamname her. Der war schnell gefunden. So haben wir uns auch in dieses Logbuch im Team mit dem wohlklingenden Namen oZBT einschreiben können.
Auf dem Weg von Bologna über San Marino nach Rom (viele Wege führen dort hin).
Unser Ziel war erreicht. ROM. Hier konnten wir neben einige Caches auch den ein oder anderen Earthcache beantworten. Taragorn hat im Namen des Teams die Owner angeschrieben und unsere ermittelten Ergebnisse weitergeleitet.
Hier hatte es uns besonders gut gefallen.

During our stay in Rome we managed to see a lot of interesting Places. Inbetween sightseeing and shopping - we got the opportunity to log a lot of caches as well. The last two days we'd got some time for caching when the ladies went shopping.
It was a bit rainy today, but we walked around and found answers for some earthcaches, found one letterbox and one wherigocache among traditionals. We ended with 12 new caches, and a total of 47 in Rome before arriving back to Norway. Where a signature should be written, we'd used B + R for Brotmo and Ronlan. TFTC

Having been to Rome before I was ecstatic that Becka accepted the chance to come with me, she's never been and I just live it so much. However last time I came I did very little geocaching. My first mistake. Well this time I come slightly more prepared. Having solved a few puzzles and done the necessary research on routes.

Still this morning she has not quite risen so I did and early morning trip to gz to find out the ground work, literally. Gotta love this city.

První celý den našeho pobytu. Brzy ráno vyrážíme smer Vatikán, kde trávíme celé dopoledne, pak presun metrem ke Španelským schodum a odtud centrem pomalou procházkou a prohlídkou jdeme zpet k našemu ubytování.

Další obelisk pri ceste, takže rychlá odbocka, zkouknutí a zjištení všeho potrebného, a pak mužeme na výborné zdejší testoviny .

Unseren Einwöchigen Rom Urlaub haben wir natürlich auch genutzt um die ein oder andere Dose zu suchen und natürlich die vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten zu besuchen.

Odloveno s GeoCule pri nasi , jiz tradicni, lednove dovolene. Tentokrate jsme si vybrali Rim, ktery je jednim z nejkrasnejsich mest v Evrope. Privitalo nas slunne pocasi, za ktere jsme byli neskutecne vdecni. U nas totiz zacinalo pekne mrznout. Na hotelu jsme zanechali zimni doplnky a jen v trickach vyrazili na odlov mistnich krabicek. Kazdy den jsme nachodili pres 20 kilometru a posbirali snad vsechny kesky ve meste Timto dekuji ownerovi za zavedeni ke krasnemu mistu a verim, ze jsme zde nebyli naposledy Danke very moc

This evening I visited the Obelisk and of course, I recognized the nice Earth Cache there. The weather was horrible today and it was already dark when I reached the place. **General Log**
This week me and Debster24 went to Rome. What a great city to discover. We enjoyed our stay near the center of Rome. We even did the bus tour and visited lot's of awesome and historical places.

We found some traditional and solved mysteries. The earthcaches were nice too. Some caches were easy to find.

**Individual log**
Today is our third and last day in Rome. Schedule for today is going downtown to see the Pantheon and the Spanish Steps. We also visited the National Monument to Victor Emmanuel II.

Also made a little stop at The Obelisk of Montecitorio to answer the earthcache Granito. Our answers are sent to the owner.

We are in Rome for a couple of days, Nwpvr and me.
We enjoyed the good food en the nice caches everywhere.
We also did this earthcache, at the time we were there it was very busy.
There was something going on with politics and stuff.

*We (me and Martulí) went on a small sightseeing trip to Rome. I was looking forward to the trip because the ancient buildings from the times of ancient Rome are famous and, moreover, it reminds us of a fairly recent history.
We depart from Brno at 9 pm and we arrived in Rome shortly before the three afternoon. The next day, we took the bus back in one afternoon. We were able to visit most of the monuments and the Vatican in the short 22 hours. We had long way around 46 kilometers. Afternoon, the weather was nice, it was ten degrees warmer than our country. The early morning began to rain a lot and we did not stop at our departure. We had a lot of trouble here with finding a cache, because of rainning, but we managed to do it somehow.
We enjoyed the whole trip, we liked it very much.We found a lot of caches, but we did not always have lucky, the darkness and size of the caches did not always come together. Some caches are in a terrible condition and some are not in place.
In our country, similarly sized caches are evaluated differently: On the one hand, they would be the size of others, and on the other they would have a much higher star rating for difficulty finding.
Finding the local, mostly small boxes taught me to like ours, somewhat larger and often more sophisticated caches. Nothing less, if there were not that caches at all, there would be nothing for searching, and I must to say thank you, for them at least.

Czech version:
Vydali jsme se na menší poznávací výlet do Ríma. Moc jsem se na výlet tešila protože starobylé budovy z dob starého Ríma jsou vehlasné a navíc nám to pripomíná pomerne nedávnou historii.
Vyrazili jsme z Brna v 9 vecer a dorazili jsme do Ríma krátce pred tretí odpoledne. Druhý den nám jel autobus zase zpet v jednu odpoledne. Stihli jsme za tech krátkých 22 hodin navštívit vetšinu památek a Vatikán. Ušli jsme 46 kilometru. Odpoledne bylo pekné pocasí, bylo tu o celých deset stupnu tepleji než v naší zemi. Brzy ráno zacalo pršet a do našeho odjezdu déšt neustal. Celkem nám to ztížilo zdejší pobyt, ale nakonec jsme to nejak zvládli.
Celý výlet jsme si užili, moc se nám tu líbilo. Našli jsme spoustu keší, ale ne vždy se nám darilo, tma a velikost zdejších kešek nešla vždy dohromady. Nekteré jsou v hrozném stavu a nekteré na míste ani nejsou.
U nás by podobne velké kešky byly ohodnoceny jinak. Jednak by byly velikostí other, a jednak by mely mnohem vyšší ohodnocení hvezdickami pro obtížnost najití.
Nalézání zdejších, prevážne malých krabicek me naucilo mít ráda ty naše, ponekud vetší a mnohdy více propracovanejší. Nic méne, kdyby tu nebyly alespon takovéto, tak by tu nebylo nic a tak moc dekuji alespon za ne. Díky za duvod odbocit do ruzných zákoutí a poznat tak zákulisí Rímu o to intenzivneji.

Nach langer Zeit haben wir wieder ein mal ein paar Tage in Rom verbracht. Ein wunderschöner Aufenthalt in einer wunderschönen, abwechslungsreichen Stadt! Nun kam noch die Suche nach Caches dazu! Das hat auch hier großen Spaß gemacht. Frustrierend ist allerdings die große Zahl an Dosen, die offensichtlich nicht mehr vor Ort sind. Pflege und Wartung werden in Rom wohl nicht so groß geschrieben! Was soll's? Wir haben uns trotzdem über unsere Funde gefreut!

Dieser Earthcache gehörte auch dazu.

Am frühen Montag Morgen stiegen das knuddelige Waldmeerschweinchen und ich in einen irischen Flieger und verabschiedeten uns für fünf Tage nach Rom. Was für eine tolle Stadt!
Während wir fast die komplette City mit ihren Sehenswürdigkeiten zu Fuß eroberten, kamen wir auch an diesem Cache vorbei.

Diese Woche verbrachte ich zusammen mit Slápi erlebnisreiche und eindrucksvolle Tage im wilden Rom. Neben vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten, die die Stadt zu bieten hat, bekamen wir trotz einer nie zuvor dagewesenen DNF-Quote doch noch den ein oder anderen Cache zu sehen.

Natürlich besuchten wir auch die zahlreichen Earthcaches und bedanken uns für's Herführen und Zeigen!
