TFTC! Nearing the end of our Honeymoon from the UK! We joined the RealNZ one day tour from queenstown. The coach bought is through 2 hours of rain which left us apprehensive, however we arrived at a remarkably calm (if windy) doubtful sound. We had a fantastic time, it was well worth the journey! I have attached a picture of the blanket bay hotel!
We had a wonderful cruise around Doubtful Sound today, last night it had rained a lot, so waterfalls were plentyful and after the nightly rain, the day was bright and sunny, wind was hard but not too cold. TFTE, answers were sent.
Day 17 of our Enzed adventures with Robmc and today is the last full day in Te Anau.Todays scheduled activity is the boat, bus, boat ride to DoubtfulAlsoNot ASound. Again at the mercy of bus drivers we were only able to collect the 2 earthcaches. This is a pretty amazing location and well worth the extra effort to get here. Thanks for contributing to the fun southlandicebergs
Day seventeen of our epic New Zealand Adventure with The Morris.Stayed in Te Anau and spent the day going to Doubtful Sound. We were on a tour so we didn't get many caches done.Heavy cloud over the mountains and rain later in the day.The weather wasn't so good today, but the upside was that there were stacks of extra waterfalls plunging down the cliffs. The log photo is one of those.Answers sent by The Morris to the CO.Thanks, Robmc.
During our trek through New Zealand, on the way north, we also visited Doubtful Sound. We really enjoyed the beautiful country and the friendly people.Co, thank you for showing us this iconic place.Cheers, from the Netherlands!
Had a fabulous time in Doubtful Sounds today. Started off cloudy and drizzly but the further out we got the nicer the weather became but still got all the waterfalls. Saw some bottle nosed dolphins and seals.
Tftc. Just back from a fantastic trip on the Fjord sorry sound lol. To many photos to choose from and we were lucky to see bottle nosed dolphins
I emailed my answers a couple of days ago. I actually did this earthcache on 13th December 2023 but I have a bad habit of forgetting to log earthcaches and virtuals that I have done when on holiday. I was looking though photos in the weekend and realised that I hadn't logged it. In 1972 I used to frequently go on the Fiordlanders from Manapouri to Deep Cove as my boyfriend at the time was a skipper on the Fiordlanders. I used to sometimes do the teas and coffees for the passengers but I actually worked at the Manapouri Motor Inn. My trip to Manapouri last year was a bit of a spur of the moment trip. I had read the book The Bookseller at the End of the World and decided come to Manapouri. It was a great trip down memory lane for me. I took so many photos of this trip and I don't recall that there was a visitors centre at Deep Cove when I was living in Manapouri plus the wharf where the boats tie up in different. Pity that you can't visit the power station any longer so I will have to rely on my memory for that. Disappointed that the bus only stopped briefly at the top of the Wilmot Pass and didn't let anyone off as it meant that I didn't get the cache there. Apart from the crew I was the only New Zealander on this trip
Spent the morning in Doubtful Sound with Bapgirl today, and we had lots of fun trying to suss all the answers to these questions! A very wet day today, but that didn't detract from the beauty of Doubtful Sound at all, it only added to it. Even got to see some dolphins up close! My second visit to Doubtful Sound, and I hope to be back many more times! TFTC!
Went on the overnight on the Navigator with my Muggle sisters, It was a wonderful time even though it rained most of the time.Tftc
During our cruise on Doubtful Sound, J:org and me experienced all kind of weather which produced all kind of light and sights - it was a very lovely trip! Thanks for honoring that locatcion with this Earthcache!
On a beautiful day we have had a wonderful cruse on Doubtful Sound. The magic light in the early morning hours are the most impressive ones..Thank you for this Earthcache
We are currently on a eight week holiday which is mostly spent in New Zealand and Australia. However, the first three days were spent in Signapore as a nice break from an otherwise long flight from the Netherlands. Yesterday we drove from Mount Cook to Te Anau. A boat tour through the Doubtful Sound is on the program for today. We are picked up by a bus in Te Anau, have a ferry over Lake Manapouri, another bus tour and then a three hour cruise in Doubtful Sound. We had to wait for a while at the cove which gave us a good change to study the Helana falls and its surroundings. Thank you very much for this educational earthcache at this remarkable place.
We arrived in Te Anau yesterday for our two-month trip through New Zealand and Australia. We have booked a cruise on the Doubtful Sound for today.During the cruise we looked for the answers for this earth cache. We also took a nice photo.**southlandicebergs**, thanks for the cache.
Enjoyed gathering answers on our cruise In Doubtful Sound. Lots of low cloud but little rain. Answers sent. Tftc

A great day on the Sound. Very foggy but still managed to see a lot and, because it had been raining, the waterfalls were spectacular. To top it all we saw a pod of dolphins. Made the day. So glad to have had this earthcache to find - icing on the cake! Have a favourite. TFTC

We enjoyed the cruise and beauty on Doubtful Sound. We saw New Zealand fur seals at the edge of the Tasman Sea. Answers sent.
Visiting from South Auatralia, we spent the day doing the Doubtful Sound tour - such an amazing day with incredible scenery. Our boat went out into the Tasman Sea as it was reasonably calm, with blue skies and gentle winds. The tour guide mentioned that during a heavy rainstorm there can be about 2,000 waterfalls in Doubtful sound! Our bus stopped and the driver allowed us to alight to take photos of the waterfall. Made the necessarily observations and sent the answers to the CO.Such a beautiful and remote area! Another fav point.
Luckily for me this is my second trip as i got to help a year 8 camp so i got to gather up the needed info for this cache .i have leant about waterfalls and the valleys in the deep cove. Hope i come back hereTFTC
A great chance to log a "5" while on a recent school camp with the youngest of thewinter4, such a beautiful place, especially when it pours with rain!! TFTC southlandicebergs
rahmschnitzel2704 and I went on an overnight cruise on Doubtful Sound and it was an amazing experience. Helena falls greeted us on arrival and of course we checked for the answers to the EC during our trip. Div, our nature guide, thankfully explained a lot about the flora and fauna of the sound and the geological phenomena.
Thanks a lot for this Earth Cache!

Deep Cove was the start of an awesome overnight cruise on Doubtful Sound. We learned from our great guide Div a lot about the sound / fjord, the flora and fauna and about the waterfalls in this area. Sonnenblume2780 send the answers for this earthcache to the CO.
Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for the cache!
We spent the night in a six berth boat. We had rain, wind, sun and snow! Great rainbows and sunset. We caught blue cod, sea perch and a shark along with collecting crayfish for pots. A most remarkable place to visit and perhaps the highlight of our trip from the UK to New Zealand.

TFTC. Thank you, thank you, thank you for placing this virtual here. Didn’t have much time here so couldn’t look for Geo nearby. We had terrific day out. Couldn't have been better - lots of rain and wind which made for a perfect symbiotic experience. I lost count of the Ahhh's, wows, amazing, fantastics that were expressed around the boat. Also lost count of the waterfalls at 147,236 - and that was before lunch .
Photo is of Doubtful sound - don’t be doubtful, it is down there somewhere - so we were told !

I’m visiting New Zealand from Perth, Western Australia. The 6 of us did the 7 hour tour and it was fabulous. Weather was very wet and misty, with low clouds most of the time. Much of the boat trip on Doubtful Sound was spent inside due to the wet conditions. However we thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the many waterfalls which were spectacular because of the rain. Saw seals on the island at the entrance to Doubtful Sound from the Tasman Sea. That was pretty cool. Thanks for setting up this Earthcache. I’ve sent my answers but I’m not confident they’re all correct.
2 days ago we visited the Doubtful Sound. It was beautiful weather. Thanks for this cache.
Yay, the bus stopped on the way back for 5 minutes for a view of the water fall. As it had hardly rained in the area for days the falls were no as impressive.
Going on the doubtful sound cruise seemed like something i simply had to do while in the area, based upon the word of mouth feedback i had from random travellers.
Glad i did as it was another one of those stunning nature environments mostly untouched by human interaction. It was so easy to imagine captain james cook sailing in here and setting up camp awhile.
Although we didn't dawdle too long around or near the waterfalls, i managed to do a little research and oggle the falls out the window enough to answer some questions and send them off to the co.
Thanks southlandicebergs for choosing to create an earthcache here in the almost middle of nowhere and teaching me something new at the same time!
This is the eleventh time i've come across this grid combination.
Backdating and logging this to when i was given the nod of success.
Thankyou and g'day from Australia!
Still progressing through our road trip through , we have booked the overnight fjord navigator cruise to explore the Doubtful Sound.
Quite a journey to get there: drive from Queenstown to Manapouri, take the ferry to West Arm visitor center, the bus to cross the Wilmot Pass, then arrive at Deep Cove to board the navigator ship…. Luckily this is all organised in perfect manner and the trip in itself is spectacular.
It is raining and misty on the journey to, but little time on a boat later we got lovely sunshine and blue sky… which I understand is a rare thing
On top of that the stay in the Sound is rewarded with two T5 earthcaches, try to say no to that
Answers have been sent in the meanwhile.
Many thanks for this interesting earthcache and geogreetings from chitza from Belgium

As the CO mentioned in the hint ' Enjoy It'
Personally, I loved it! A sunny, dry day with only a light wind, meaning we could get a lot further out into the lake. It was a good geology lesson too, and I enjoyed all the questions, although I did get one wrong, even knowing the correct answer from the Milford Sound captain earlier in the week. Some absolutely stunning scenery, together with penguins, seals and of course waterfalls, especially Helena Falls.
Thanks so much for the really prompt answers and setting this Earthcache in the first place

We enjoyed a fantastic day in Doubtful Sound today where we saw Fur Seals galore, 6 Crested Penguins, a couple of Bottle Nosed Dolphins and absolutely masses of stunning scenery.
Highly recommended trip.
For the record we're British but have lived at 1400m altitude in the French Alps for 20 years. I'm not sure how the CO will record that!
Many thanks again and FP

Hi there,
we were here on an overnight cruise, the weather unfortunately was not so fine, but we did enjoy the cruise anyway, such a magical place.
Saw the Helena falls from the boat arriving in Deep Cove after our overnight cruise and just after that had a quick look at them from the bus.
Tftc, greetings from Italy

We were lucky to have 2 nights cruising around the sounds enjoying stunning weather, amazing views, sunsets and sunrises, and wild life aboard the Navigator. As we arrived in DS we stopped to view Deep Cove and the falls. With not much rain lately the falls were not pumping but were still impressive regardless. Thanks for the EC SIB, turly is a special place!!
Down south for a week doing ‘something new, New Zealand’
An overnight cruise around Doubtful Sound was the headline act of our trip and the weather gods truly played their part too as we had gorgeous sunshine, calm water and perfect views.
As we readied to depart I took some moments to study the surroundings and do my homework for this Earth cache.
After some afternoon kayaking and a swim in the fiord (not as cold as expected) we sailed out towards Secretary Island.
The weather was so favourable we were able to circumvent Secretary Island which afforded us some great views of some NZ fur seals and also brought us into contact with a large pod of Dusky dolphins who played happily along side our boat for ten minutes.
A truly magical place.
Thanks southlandicebergs

We were incredibly blessed by stunningly clear weather on our Real Journeys boat trip across Lake Manapouri to Lake Arm, then bus trip over Wilmot Pass, then boat journey through Doubtful Sound and some of its stunningly beautiful arms. A brilliant place for an EarthCache, well worth the visit.
On a family day trip to Doubtful Sound, the tour bus driver kept us entertained on the drive over the range and after a very quick find of a trad close to the wharf we hopped onto the boat for a 3 hour cruise around the Sound. It was overcast most of the day with a few showers, which apparently had been the first rain in several days and many of the waterfalls (including the Helena Falls) were considerably reduced or not flowing at all.
We made it all the way to the islands at the edge of the Tasman sea and saw the seal colony and then turn around and cruise most of the way back to where we went up one of the arms to the south. Near the end they shut down the boat for a few minutes to drift in silence and listen to the natural sounds of waves and birds, which Mrs B thought was a highlight of the trip.
Once back the driver stopped for a quick look at Helana falls just up the road. Compared with a video he had taken on his phone which he showed us after we asked about them, they were much diminished and could have even meant the type of waterfall category was different to what the earthcache answer intended?
Answers have been sent to the CO, thanks for the quick response. Really stunning part of the world and certainly worth the visit. TFTC,

What an incredible part of New Zealand! Sadly we were evacuated as part of my son's school camp and going into lock down, so we didn't get to enjoy everything the area has to offer! Hoping to get back to explore more soon. So much snow on the Wilmot Pass on the way over.

We were at the beginning of a seven day Journey of discovery on the Milford wanderer, A great trip with wet misty weather but so beautiful.

Answers finally sent. After living on the North Island for 5y we decided to move to the South Island after a 3 weeks camping trip. This was 2y ago and this summer we made another trip down south (living top of the south) and also booked a cruise tour for Milford and Doubtful sound. They are quite different but both are stunning! We saw dolphins at Milford and even a whale at Doubful - not to mention of course the many many seals. I loved it here and hope to come back! Thanks for the Earth Cache. Answers just sent

Visited Doubtful Sound today on a day cruise. We had a grey, drizzly day with low mist, so didn't see all the peaks, but got some spectacular views anyway. Didn't see any other boats on the water today, so a great time to visit these tourist hotspots while the overseas tourists are not able to visit.

We were lucky enough to get a cruise in Doubtful Sound today and also able to grab some caches along the way. It was a beautiful day with only the one boat on the water due to lack of tourists. We got to see a lot of the area, but very few waterfalls as most have dried up or are almost dried up due to lack of rain.

As New Zealanders it's about time we visited this place. Having never been to Te Anau before we decided to make sure we also did the cruise to Doubtful Sound that came highly recommended by people we had talked to. It was an awesome day out with the Real Journey's day cruise starting from Manapori. Once we were out here we spotted this earth cache and another on the map. Our bus stopped to view the waterfall on our return from the Deep Cov cruise. Answers sent as required and many photos taken. A couple posted with this log. What a beautiful place to visit. Thanks for setting up this earth cache.
Loved our time in Doubtful such an awesome place, thanks for placing an earth cache here.
Awesome overnight trip to doubtful sound.
Had sun and calmness yesterday and then a heap of rain so there were 1000s of waterfalls this morning
Back to the real whole after an amazing trip

Anything out here has to get a favourite point, the weather was sunny, there was no breeze and we had a great time on the boat. The kids thought the bus trip was awesome but due to the lack of rain, the falls wern't quite as busy as they could have been.
Have always wanted to visit Doubtful Sound & today was my chance. Variable weather but i think that enhanced the experience seeing the Sound in all lights & all weathers. Gathered the required info & have sent answers to CO. A very enjoyable day. TFTC
We register this EarthCache with the ok of the owner, a cache made during our beautiful discovery of the fiord! Wonderful boat and coach ride, rainy weather in the driveway and bright sunshine all the way back! just wonderful ! Thanks to the owner for all his information!
Hello from Washington state. We are on day 27 of our 5 week road trip in NZ. Staying in Manapouri for a few nights and this morning walked from our VRBO down to the waterfront to start our tour of Doubtful Sound. It was dry to begin but raining by the time we got to the bus. Quite wet for the ride out to the Tasman Sea but just cloudy on the way back with lots of waterfalls to view thanks to the earlier rain. It was quite a beautiful day. Happy to have had two earthcaches to work on during the trip. And, for this one, we got to see several of the waterfall types described in the description. TFTC

I started my great and unique round trip over the South Island in Christchurch.
My first major stopover was at Lake Tapeko - here I hiked up to Observation Mountain.
I then planned two days in Mount Cook NP with some unforgettable hikes. My big goal was the Mueller Hut - on a super strenuous hike I reached it.
I continued my journey over the lonely Danseys Pass to Dunedin.
Afterwards I drove along the Southern Scienic Route via Invercargill to Manapouri for some days. On this route I visited many sights and enjoyed the beautiful nature again and again.
I already booked a tour to the Doubtful Sound in advance - another highlight on my tour.
Afterwards I drove on to Queensown and Wanaka. From there I continued over the Haast Pass to the lonely Jackson Bay with storm and heavy rain. Afterwards I drove along the west coast always in pouring rain.
The rain stopped the whole west coast, but I had good rainwear with me. Only high up in Nelson the sun shone again.
Soon I reached the east coast again in Picton and Blenheim and the sun was shining again.
After a few days I travelled back to Christchurch via the beautiful town of Kaikoura.
At the end of my round trip I spent a few more days in Christchurch and its surroundings.
I visited many geological sites and found many caches on my round trip. In Rangiora I visited an event.
I travelled 3418 km and take home a lot of positive experiences.
Thanks to many beautiful caches I was also shown unique locations, historical sites and geological features.
I am overwhelmed by the fantastic and ever changing nature on the South Island of New Zealand - I will definitely come back.
Many thanks to all owners

I have no idea, why I missed this one. When we went to New Zealand last year, I was looking forward to log the Earth Cache on the Doubtful Sound. It was one of the Geocaching destinations with highest priority, I had in mind, when visiting the great country. Last week I had a look at our photos, all these memories, no idea what a crazy year we would get. My girl friend and me, we always think back to some of our greatest weeks ever. Then I had a look at the logged geocaches... And then I saw this one. Why did I miss it in my preparations? So bad.
But luckily, we went to this place, we had that great view over the Doubtful Sound, we took some really great pictures. So, I could answer the question and I am able to log this so much time after
Last year, when we were in New Zealand, a huge rain fall destroyed many ways to the sounds. The Milford was completely cutted, and the roads down from Queenstown, where we were in the morning, were closed until early in the morning. But we were lucky. Nonetheless we decided to drive the closed signs and than, six in the morning, a few cars were guided throught the destroyed route. We lead the convoy (ok, right after the construction vehicle).
And so we could enter the boat at 11am which took us the Doubtful Sound trip, where we booked a great Overnight Cruise.
The weather was quite ok, the best one we had in the last few days of heavy rain. A bit cold, a bit cloudy, but nothing special.
And then we entered the busses to the sound. And they stopped at the view. Great! We saw our ship!
The weather became better and better. I believe, it is the most beautiful and peaceful piece of nature I've ever seen. We saw some seals, and then... far far away I saw something. I triggered the camera and when I zoomed deep into the picture I saw that I took a photo of a jumping dolphin. Wow, the first dolphin I've ever, well... , "seen" in my life! Pity that it was just as short as an eye blink and too far away to see them really.
Next morning, clear sky, mirror calm sea. What great shots were possible. And again: Far away we could see some back fins of a small group of dolphins.
When we were back on land, the busses stopped a second time at the view because of the much better view than the day before. Now we could see the ship. What a great final view for one of the most remarkable trips ever!
Thanks to the owner that I can log this after all this time!

My husband and I spent a great night in Doubtful Sound, and of course I'm grateful there are a couple of EarthCaches to be had there too. I didn't get much of a look at Helena Falls, just enough to come to some conclusions for the questions, so I hope I got it all right or nearly so. Those tour operators definitely herd us off and on the boats without a chance to wander! Anyway, TFTC of course, from Colorado/Chicago in the USA.
It was hard to choose between a trip to Milford Sound or to Doubtful Sound, both are worth the while I guess. We chose Doubtful and it was great! Lots of information from the driver on the bus and the captains on the boats. And many waterfalls, thanks to the rain. Thanks for putting an earthcache over here, southlandicebergs! ??????It's time for Xmas holidays!??????
At Munich airport I met Jon Snow and Ari and a couple of muggles. Here we started our common holiday tour.
First we went to Singapore by plane, where we stayed one night and strolled through this beautiful city. It was really amazing!
Then we went on to our real destination: New Zealand! ????
Within nearly four weeks we first explored the North Island, followed by the South Island in the second half of our journey. We could discover unique landscapes and great nature, we saw many animals (and no, I'm not talking about sand flies here??), we met nice people and found also some caches. ??
Thanks to all the owners for elaborating, hiding and maintaining their caches! Staying and caching in ???? and ???? was a great experience and real fun!
The answers are already submitted via the message centre. Sorry for logging so late, but it's not one of my favourite pastimes...

?????? Vacation at the original locations of the LotR-films! ??????
Together with Jon Snow and H_Nelson and some friends-of-mine-muggles we went to New Zealand for almost four weeks, collecting many great impressions of both islands, their awesome landscapes, their clinging (and indeed very annoying!) muggles and bushes, their fascinating wildlife (especially the sandflies were very clinging, too??), their various locations of my favorite movies ?? (although the guided tours were very overpriced!) and last but not least their nice geocaches!
I fell especially in love with New Zealand's bushes because most of the caches are hidden deep inside. And the good thing is: there are definitely no muggles there??!!!
It was a very nice vacation with many great impressions and experiences!
The last day of the year we did an excursion to the Doubtful Sound. The landscape was very impressive and we really enjoyed it (by bus and boat). Because of the group constraint we only could do the earthcaches here. This one I liked very much because it was plenty of interesting and new (for me) information.
Thanks a lot for this earthcache and all the information and the promt log permission. I leave a favorite here!

A day we won’t forget anytime soon. Just amazing in every direction. We preferred this location to Milford mainly due to the fact it was so relaxed and green. Not too many people and nature in all and every direction. A real shame we missed out on seeing dolphins but we can hardly complain with what we saw today. Thanks for placing this earthcache here!
We had a tremendous day at the Doubtful sound. It was not till we arrived at the cove before the rain stopped. Sun came out on the way back and we saw gorgeous waterfalls after the torrential rain last night.

What a beautiful place for a cruise. Even in the rain, but of course it is a rainforest. We could expected that.
Thanks for the cache.

We were are actually suppose to do Milford Sound today, but with the road closure due to avalanche risk, we decided to do Doubtful Sound instead. The water taxi and bus ride we were informative. Luckily, the rain held out and it ended up being a gorgeous day! Answers have been sent.
Thanks for the fun, southlandicebergs!

So genial. Ich kann fast nicht schreiben was ich an diesem Ort gefühlt habe. Kein Mobilfunk, keine Strommasten. Einfach unberührte Landschaft, Pinguine, Delfine und Robben.
Vielen Dank für diesen schönen Earthcache.

Together with RTB73 I visited the amazing Doubtful Sound. We enjoyed very much our daytrip. TFTC
Spending a great time in New Zealand with canadianfrien75 we also have visited some caches. The answers were given by canadianfriend75 and the photo can be found in her log. The country, the people, the nature, the cleanliness, ... amazing. Thanks to a special country for a great vacation and also TFTC
My first time into Deep Cove. A wonderful place. Was there with a working party setting rat and possum traps, and cutting tracks. Ill certainly be back. I climbed right up to the foot of the falls. It was doing well as we'd had a night and day of rain. much less water the next day.
Awesome place to visit and great to learn about about the area, thanks for setting up this earthcache
Our trip to Doubtful sound was without any doubt one of the highlights of our visit to New Zealand. We came on the day trip with the Patea Explorer (real journeys). No rain at all and we have seen the wonderful dolphins greeting us and doing their acrobatic jumps right beside the vessel. Great experience. The landscape is so majestic, remote and untouched and wild, it gives you a feeling of being very small and unimportant. We followed the hint and enjoyed it.
Thanks to CO who made us explore and think about the geology of this unique place. Greetings from two German geocachers travelling beautiful New Zealand

Before we came here we visited the Milford Sound. But unfortunately it was nice but not so nice as the Doubtful Sound. I was here 10 years ago and it was still as awesome as the last time. WE had a nice wonderful trip. It was sunny, but windy as you can see on the picture from the lady. Thanks for showing this place and it was a very good decision to come back.
D4nielB and me were on a Doubtful Sound Cruise Tour today. The only event we prebooked for our two months in New Zealand and it was worth it.
Despite the rain (which was to be expected, I think), ist was a tour to remember. Great views and impressions and simply awesome.
We also gathered the information needed for the two earthcaches on the route - thanks for all the information and questions on which we had to find answers. D4nielB already sent our answers to the CO.
Greetings from Hamburg, Germany.

Today Jul1ane and me did a Doubtful Sound Cruise tour. The tour was aweseome, event though it rained quite a bit in between - but that's to expect here anyway with 200+ rain days a year.
We also took the chance to gather the answers to the two earth caches in this area. Answers have been sent to the COs, thanks for the interesting lessons.

Yesterday we were on a Milford Sound cruise, today it was a much longer affair on Doubtful Sound. This was our preferred place, less boats, no continual drone of planes and helicopters.
This was superb, and when the captain cut the engine and it was complete peace and quiet it was fantastic.we may never come to NZ again but this was the highlight. Email sent to CO. Tftc.

Logging with permission of the CO. Owl visited Doubtful Sound recently on a cruise with her family and spent the time on a balcony soaking up the glorious views in perfect weather. Spotted some dolphins and Raven even saw a whale on the way in. It's been on Owl's bucket list to come back and see the Sound from the sea and it was worth every minute. Have a favourite point for the views, the opportunity to learn something new about seaweed and your generosity with this cache.
On our trip thru NZ we visit a lot of places and see many spectacular locations.
This cache was one of our stopps thanks a lot to the owner for showing us this nice place.
But it was not only a stop, it was a ful day trip !

I did an overnight trip to Doubtful Sound over the 10th/11th of January 2019. The journey started with a pleasant ferry crossing over Lake Manapouri, followed by a bus trip across Wilmot Pass to then board the Fiordland Navigator for the overnight trip on Doubtful Sound. The trip was stunning, with wonderful scenery, wildlife (including albatross, seal and dolphin sightings) and great food provided on board.During the trip the commentary provided details on the formation of Doubtful Sound and I also made my own observations. Answers to the Earthcache requirements have been emailed to the CO and permission has been given to log the find. Attached are a few photos from Deep Cove. Thanks for the Earthcache!
We had an amazing time in doubtful sound. We were told they were in the middle of a drought as it has not rained in 2 days! This meant seeing the waterfall was a bit tricky. The views were magnificent though. Tftc
Did this earthcache with chermione who has sent in our joint answers to the CO. We can thoroughly recommend the overnight cruise here - it was really special. Such a beautiful unspoilt paradise. Thanks.
We were told it's raining an average of about 200 days a year here and that it's even the wettest area in the world on sea level! Today we were extremely lucky as there was not even a single cloud! Doubtful Sound is truly one of the highlights of our trip through this amazing part of the world! We went all the way to the Tasman Sea and saw the seal colony playing and basking in the sun out there! Marvellous trip! We don't have enough superlatives describing the beauty of one of the most remote areas in our antipode's land! You just have to come here to see! Of course, we had a look at the hint of this earthcache... and we absolutely did: enjoy it! Answers will be sent. Thx a lot for this T5-EC! Greetings and favo+ from Belgium!!!

My parents (aka Doolins) are visiting Wellington from Toronto fro 24 days, and along the way we found many caches. Answers previously submitted by Doolins. Apologies for the very late log. TFTC
This was our 1st full day in Te Anau having arrived late yesterday afternoon. We are visiting from Toronto ON Canada to spend 24 days with our daughter who lives in Wellington NZ. We opted for the Doubtful Sound full day tour over a shorter tour at Milford Sound. Quick stop at GZ. Found at 1:14 PM. Thank you southlandicebergs for placing and maintaining this cache.
