I looked and looked then went back to my car and got a ladder and looked and looked again but alas a DNF. Hopefully it hasnt fallen down again. A quick check may be in order.
I am really bad at tree caches. Didnt spot it either from below or above (assuming I reached appropriate height). Oh well
I didn't realise it was a tree climb and after an initial go, was unwilling to take the risk on my own: David
As our teams were not part of the GF parade we decided to get out and about in the glorious Melbourne sunshine to grab a few caches. We planned a circuitous route of about 11km.A quick find. TFTC.
Lovely walk. Surprised it is 2.5 difficulty. Few photos and we were on our way. Thanks DonutHoles.
I spotted the cache but made Memorychip go fetch!! I'm getting too old for this :p
All is good here, thanks for the cache.

Great little climb at the GZ. Was worthwhile looking around to spot the cache before starting my climb. Tttc
Had a good look for about 30 mins, including up but no luck. Cloudy, low light didn't help: David
I had been to look for this one several years ago, but I didn't have time to climb! Today I managed it, and felt quite pleased with myself. Not bad for an old bloke!
This one was tough. I tried a few years ago and after today I am sure it had gone walkabout because I walked right up to it and spotted it easily.
I can't say that for reaching it though. A bit of improvisation and quite some time later my name was in the cache and it was returned much more quickly than it was reached.
Thanks for the challenge here Legomango9 and his Dad

Due to the recent rains getting to GZ felt more like crossing a moat. I saw it but Emandel took on the hard task of retrieving it.
I took the brute force approach on this one -- thanks for the excuse for a bit of exercise.
I saw this cache when we first started but it was Premium and we weren't and it was up a bit. Now we have paid up and I wanted to test our new pole so it's back to Hangin', I spent some time trying to find it again but once found the pole worked a treat. TFTC.
Was contemplating climbing up but Stecio used her brain and we found an alternative method!
Finally able to travel more than 15km so Spiffy- and I did just that with geokids and my partner... who spotted several today.
We did as the hint said and then my geopartner noticed it laying on the ground... haha.. so we placed it back appropriately.
Thanks to Legomango9 and his Dad for the placement and fun.

Found at 3:42 pm.
Ah, it was so nice to be out of lockdown partly and be able to go more than 15km from home. So Fleabag and our 2 smallest geokids headed over this way for a couple of hours entertainment and cache finding along with a bakery stop-off of course. Found everything we looked for with a long search at one place but at no DNF's today which made it even better.
We found this one lying on the ground so put it back to match the hint.
Thanks Legomango9 for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

After a while we found it! It's way up high in the tree. We didn't bother, as it looks unsafe, mainly because it's really high up. Thanks.
Found it! Had a great day walking the Aqueduct trail with Muggle Heather! Topped of our walk with this cache!! Spotted from below so I didn’t have to hang around for long!! TFTC SL sorry for the late log! Looking forward to finding some more caches hanging about in Eltham very soon!!
TFTC. I've walked past here quite often and always forget to bring my pen. Well, finally remember and got the find.
Another day out caching with Omegaman1971, today we headed to the Eltham area to clean up a few unfound caches, a great day was had and after the rain we had the day before it was great to see the sun come out.
This is one of the caches we found on out travels.
Thanks Legomango9 for the cache.

Love this spot. Places like this are an awesome reminder of how cool the Eltham area is. Thanks team for the cache, it was a fun find that was a part of a great caching adventure today.
Not usually a fan of tree climbs, but this one was fairly sedate. Mildly dangerous, highly recommended! Cache was easy to see, so that was appreciated. Nothing worse than trying to find camouflages high above the ground! Thank you.
Thanks legomango & Co. Found with the help of Jimmytherat who was in fact the sacrificial lamb as despite his age he has previous experience with this cache. Thankfully no bones broken.
RH did the deed for us today after OHC spotted the container. Upset quite a few ducks today and they let us know. We didn't attract any attention until they dobbed us in. Thanks for the cache.
Out to enjoy thank you day before the rain sets in for the weekend. Up early to make the most of the day and get the steps up.
A nice little climb as the ducks watched from below.
Thanks Legomango9 for placing the hide!

Thanks to an impending football match somewhere, we have a day off today. Now that recreational activities that dont require shared facilities are allowed, we decided to explore to the north-west within the bounds of our 25km radius.
After spotting the bright blue, I wondered whether there are any bower birds in the area. Maybe they’re the cache-stealing culprits?
RH did the hard work here, while we watched on.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache, Legomango9

TFTC - Thanks for the climb! No pen on our ride but a photo of GeoKid in the tree will make do for this time.
Tftc. Don’t have a pen on our bike ride but have a photo to prove it! not for the shorties!
Missing again.
Search of the ground was fruitless so a new one went up. This time a bright blue one so might be easier to find, or get muggles.

TFTC legomango9 and dad. Nicely placed. Hm, i too am a bit old to climb trees, and just as well my usual caching partner is not with me today or I would have had an argument as to whether to climb or not to climb. Jimmytherat
24/07/2019 16:31 Used the photo hint from a log to find the correct GZ. Like a previous finder, I too am well past the age of tree climbing. Even though quite silly of me, I wanted that smiley so I climbed anyway. Another one for my detective badges. TFTC Legomango9 TNLN SL
A bit of fun! Thought I had the place to myself and just after I grabbed the gz half of Eltham decided to walk past with their dogs! So there I am hanging out in the tree until the coast was clear to put the cache back!!
A single Common froglet was croaking today, but I was expecting more froggy activity after the recent rains. Tftc.
Being the last unfinished business of this series, I wandered up here from Capture the Flag and having noted the attributes, spotted it quickly. Log was soon signed and replaced. Thanks legomangos
Tree climbing is not really my forte anymore but this tree was easy enough for even an old bloke like myself. A relatively easy find after you get to the correct height. TFTC.
Younger partner spied this one from the ground, then shimmied up. Hadn’t been up a tree since childhood. Good fun on a sunny autumn day. TFTC
I loved climbing trees as a kid, so I was excited to give this cache a go. After spotting the cache from the ground I headed up, while my caching partner wrangled the very confused Geodog, and I retrieved the cache with all bones still intact. I even managed to think ahead for once and take a pen up with me, so I could sign the log while in the tree. TFTC, this was a lot of fun!
The older BoabTree spied this cache and the much younger and fitter Shufflehop retrieved it. Both signed the log and Shufflehop replaced it. Great placement.
I am too short to be climbing trees on my own. Definitely outside of my terrain rating.
Out around Eltham today grabbing a few caches and decided to grab a few Hangin' caches while l was in the neighbourhood. As l approached the gz l had a read of the description and after a little recon l soon had the hide spotted and then headed up and did the signing duties. Thanks Legoman9 and his Dad for the cache and little adventure through this lovely area.
After the recent DNF and realising it has been a while dad went to check.
It had certainly grown over a bit more than when placed the cache. So up Dad went and not only couldn't he find the cache, but couldn't find the branch.
Maybe it had snapped off and down he went. A search of the ground was fruitless. A quick check of the last successful log and Dad decided to check some photos. This time up the CORRECT tree and the branch was located, but no cache.
A search of the ground found the cache. A check if the log with still heaps of room and back up the free to return it to its rightful spot.

Needing a cache today to help me complete a *Double Calendar* challenge, and not really having the time to go out caching, I looked through my dwindling list of "still to be found" local caches and picked this one out. Having done several of this series before and, true to my usual form of not reading all the details (one day I will learn... I'm just not sure when ), I thought this should be a *quick one* and off I went.
When I arrived at GZ and took the time to fully read things, I was in for a bit of a surprise! Undaunted, I set about looking for the cache. With the help of previous logs and a photo, I eventually worked out which tree I needed to look up... it always helps if you know where you are going before you start climbing!
Eventually I spotted what I was after and I started up... and I don't mind saying with quite a degree of apprehension as I has seriously come to grief trying to climb a tree for a cache a few years back! With a lot of care about what I was doing I was eventually able to reach the cache and sign the log.
Thanks **Legomango9 and his Dad** for an unexpected little adventure this morning

I could see the cache but it was out of reach.
Normally, when caching alone I don't take any risks, but this time I decided to have a go.
And I succeeded without breaking any arms or legs.

Yea !! Very nearly called it quits on this one !! But with some help from a photo, my keen eye & Matt's climbing skills, we soon had cache in hand !! SL, TFTC !!

On the way home from work today and stopped for a cache or two to break the drive up.
Never too old to scale the heights

Was a bit wary about this one as I am well past the age when tree climbing is a sensible pursuit. However spotted the cache; was't too high and once I got onto the first branch it was pretty easy
Mr Riddell quickly spotted the cache and was up there in a flash.
Nice tree to climb.

Took while to get back to this cache and I only live about 450mtrs away.
Missed the first time as branches were wet, plus I was in the wrong tree!
But all good today, sun out branches dry, plus the right tree. Done!
Thanks Legomango9 and your Dad.

I'm not the most confident tree climber but this is one I can do! Up I went, signed the log, and back down. So many ants!
Thank you
Thank you
Out and about with Echidna44 for another enjoyable day out. Just love the Eltham area. The houses are so diverse and area so treed and green. Parked the car in a dead end to check out if you could access a couple from this end. Not so close but a great time to catch up on all the news. Got to GZ, Echidna does the stopping and I do the climbing. Nice and easy and the ants enjoyed the meal. Now off to find the bridge to the next one. We did not do this the easy way at all, its been that sort of day.
Thanks for the cache Legomango9 and his Dad

Out with xambo4u, it was very hot so we parked relatively close by, and very very carefully crossed the railway line. A short walk had us at GZ where we started the search. We read some logs and soon realised what was required. Thanks Legomango9 and his Dad.
I got to GZ and then read the clue and thought is this the right time to be getting this one. I was on the bike and in riding shoes which are not the best for climbing. But what the heck, what's the worst that can happen. Climbed up and grabbed this one. TFTC.
The wetlands were dry as we approached, which is quite a change on past years. Although fore warned by the notes, we approached from the wrong direction and no sighting from the ground was made so we had no choice but to seek altitude. The cache was spotted at 12:40 but logging was delayed when a spasm of dropsy required support from the ground staff. Thanks legomango etc.
I have been keeping this cache for a day when I have my niece as she is eager to do a 'tree climb'. This morning we had one hour to fill in while my son was at school (in VCE year there are NO school holidays) so we decided to attempt this cache. 'Eltham North Wetlands' was the eighth cache that I found so it was good to revisit the location with lots more learned geocaching ability.
At GZ I spotted the cache quickly while my niece was climbing the tree. I then had to point it out to her and she was able to retrieve it.
Thank you Legomango9 for your growing series of local caches.

Oh look I got a souvenir for climbing the wrong tree twice , once at the right tree a quick grab thanks for the hide and climb LM9. My first august 2017 cache so a visit from my Jasmer coin
one so close to home, but i'am getting past the tree climbing stage, plus all

It hadn't been a good day. Up before the sun, car broke down in a deluge, racing around all over town without my car and now (at 11pm) I was finally back on the road in Box Hill with my car repaired at last. I just wanted to go home, go to bed and end this 'diem horribilus'.
It was the first moment I'd had all day to take a breath...
What's that? A new cache?
I was thinking that after a day of stress, I deserved a treat! So I headed off and was soon parking the car on location. There were a few other cars in the carpark so I expected to see some of the usual suspects at GZ.
I kept my torch off and made my way in the dark. There was enough light to see the path and the puddles reflecting in the night. It was lovely hearing the creek and an abundance of frogs.
It felt great to be out in nature and on the hunt. I could feel my tensions of the day slipping away. I had begun to relax so much that I stumbled on to GZ before I knew it, surprised that no one else was there.
It seemed a shame, as I was looking forward to sharing a few laughs.
So I got down to business, and that's when I realised hadn't fully read the cache description. It seems I didn't have my preferred equipment for this particular task. Oh well.
It was cold and damp but I was too immersed in the job at hand to notice.
A train whizzed by, reminding me that in the darkness, I had no grasp of the landscape I was in.
After half an hour of monkeying around examining every branch and twig I saw, I had nothing to show for my efforts.
And still no one came to share the fun. Gosh, some help would be good about now...
I hopped down and tried to work out what else I could do. As I wandered about, I discovered that I'd been in the wrong tree!!
Hahaha.
Yes, it definitely helps to look in the right tree... lol.
Thanks Legomango9 and Dad. I had a ball out here. Thanks so much for positively changing the flavour of my day!!
