Here with a tour group from www.bereanbiblesociety.org Tried to come here earlier in the week but were told the roads we were to use were closed due to Ramadam. Seems strange that has so much bearing in an area so heavy with Jewish & Christian history. Feeling somewhat ambivalent about all the emphasis put on objects & places rather than the Person of Christ and what He accomplished for us on the cross.

With a good night’s sleep and a free day in Jerusalem we headed back out this morning to explore the Old City.
Damascus Gate was our entry point so we found the cache there before going in.
There were people by the thousands streaming through the gate, we assume heading for the major mosque it being a Friday. We joined the throng and headed in. What a maze of streets, and so busy.
After wandering aimlessly for quite some time making random right and left turns enjoying the sights, we realised we were quite close to this one.
So we made our way toward it and finally managed to hone in on the entrance.
With our required photo in hand we ventured inside to explore. It certainly was surprising, and of obvious significance to many as there were very long queues to get into certain parts.
Thank you for the Virtual and for bringing us to this location.
Greetings from Australia.

Together with my wife we were on a week's vacation trip to Israel because we had a wish to see the many historical places in this country, and this place was of course one of them.
Thanks to Hamavreg for the cache, which was my find # 7678. Many greetings from Denmark.

I spent the day in Ein Karem and Sataf and still had some time to kill productively before the Yom HaZikaron ceremony in Safra Square. I walked by the backstreets of Jerusalem and looked at the map to see whether there were any caches nearby. Not there, but this one was close enough to go there and be on time for the ceremony. Thanks to the owner for the cache!

today was our first full day in Jerusalem. We started our holiday last week in Tiberias, drove through Jordan. Here we visited Petra. Then swimming in the Red Sea and now a couple days in Jerusalem. Thanks for your cache.

Many thanks for virtual on this really holy place.

On our tour through Jordan and Israel we visited many historic places like Madaba, Petra, Masada and of course Jerusalem, too. The first hot spot in Jerusalem was this church that means so much to billions of people. If this place wasn't so crowded by large noisy tour groups one could really find inner silence and feel the spirit that this place is built upon.

Thank you for this virtual!

Ten days business trip to Israel with two of my colleagues (KLV & MSH). I hadn't much time off to find a geocache, but in the evenings when our stomachs were full, I could find a geocache on our way to the hotel.

The Cache:
Today we had one day off. We talked about a trip to the dead sea and to Jerusalem. We took our rental car and drove to the southen part of the dead sea. From there we drove north at the high way to Jerusalem with a few stops at some scenic views. When the car was parked we walked to the Old City, Jaffa Gate and walked from there to the Cristian Quarter, the Muslim Quarter, to the Tomb Garden and from there back to Muslim Quarter, Jewish Quarter and finaly the Armenian Quarter.

Thank you for a nice cache.
Greetings from Denmark

Po procházce po Via Dolorosa jsme nemohli vynechat virtuální keš Church of the Holy Sepulchre - Virtual Reward. Byla to naše první virtální keš v Izraeli. Návštěvu starého Jeruzaléma jsme si moc užili.
Thanks for the virtual cache and greetings from Prague, Czech Republic. תודה על מטמון וברכה מפראג, צ'כיה

Well... it wasn't the cleverst idea so visit this place during easter... but hey, here I am and of course had to visit this place. I was more or less carried through the church - it was soooo crowded... I'd prefer to be a ghost and fly through this old remains.

Third time back for me to visit this church - the last was over two decades ago in 1997 - but the first for bringing my kids here. Despite the crowds, we were able to walk all around and go upstairs and then downstairs to see some of the less-crowded naves and areas. What a great experience. We are visiting from the USA - Northern California area near San Francisco. Nice and deserved that there is a Virtual cache here. TFTVC

Very cool place but today it was very crowded. We had the possibility to celebrate a holy mess.

Here during Easter which makes Jerusalem and this church a lot more busy. Interesting to see the history of the place and people doing 'their thing' here. The church was closing and so we had to leave (wanted to anyway because it was very crowded). Thanks for taking us here.

Good Friday is not a good time to be geocaching in Jerusalem! Big crowds, lots of soldiers and police
