Answers sent to the cache owner for review and approval. Nice art.Cleaning up Victoria with gridge98. We are on a mission this week. Completing twenty finds in Mexican local government areas is the challenge. Another find with the correct criteria. It is in Victoria and we have not accumalated twenty finds in this local government area.Today was the day to find this cache. Today is Fryer's day the eighteenth day of the octavus month of the Roman calendar in the wonderful year of twenty twenty four. We found your cache container and added some inky stuff to the paper sheet or note pad you have supplied for a log book or scroll. The cache container and log book or scroll were in good condition. It was a bit windy today. It was so windy today. With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. Today turned out to be a wet one so i headed into Wanthaggi to check out the town and enjoy a leisurely meal. I had to start heading home in the early afternoon but i was hoping for a bit of a break in the weather so i could find a last couple of caches for the trip. I grabbed my chance when there was a break in the clouds and visited this one as the first of a select few. I spent a short time collecting the required information and admiring the display before i headed off. Every now and then i find it very therapeutic to skive off from what i really should be doing to enjoy some time in nature, walking, exploring, adventuring, or just being. These days, of course, that also includes geocaching. I was feeling a bit inundated and decided to head for the coast for a sea change, at least for a few days. Phillip Island has long been a favourite so i hit the road and after a busy drive through the city i finally arrived on the island and immediately felt myself beginning to relax. When i was young i enjoyed quite a few family holidays down here and some of my happiest memories were created on splendid days exploring the beaches and rocky coasts. I will certainly find some geocaches while im here but i will probably spend more time just walking and sight seeing i think. Hill Art - Wonthaggi - Virtual Reward is find number 3,728 for me. A fun virtual sized virtual cache I enjoyed finding as one of my caching adventures in Bass Coast Shire. I am logging this one on Thursday 25 July 2024 at 12:46 pm and the weather is Scattered Clouds 12C 66% 6 m/s . Thanks for placing this cache for the rest of us to enjoy ceebee2013.*Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*

I had intended to write individual logs for my finds today and had millions of great ideas running through my head as I drove between caches starting in Bonnie Doon and ending in Wonthaggi. I'm now in Box Hill, utterly exhausted and on the whole I have forgotten which cache is which. Where possible I will note something pertinent to the current cache but I do know this. If I had tried to plan my route through beautiful scenery I doubt that I could have done a better job than what I ended up with. Rolling green hills, tall stately trees in forested areas, brilliant blue skies, masses of black cattle wandering along the bright green paddocks , little white lambs and sheep , alpacas and then all this gave way to acres and acres of vines. Oh so much more attractive than the km after km of solar panels that I passed yesterday. Thanks for placing this cache. Answers have been sent.

Great opportunity to do a Virtual, we havent done many so this one was targeted while we were in Wonthaggi. Cache # 11251 on 26 Apr 2024Decided to take advantage of the ANZAC day holiday and make a long weekend of it - added a road trip with Bobl27 to the mix and all is set for a fun few days. We are travelling from home in the ACT to Victoria via Cooma and then doing a relaxed loop to Melbourne picking up a few caches and counties along the way. And then straight up the Hume home! No tricky DTs or long walks this trip. This cache: last cache for the day, and it was a long day, starting in Heyfield, driving up the hill to pick up Victorian High Country and then a meander through a few counties to Wonthaggi where we stopped for dinner and a sleep. Stopped by this virtual to ensure I grabbed this county! Answers sent to the CO and photo of my feet attached! Thank you ceebee2013 for the cache and the fun!

This year we headed to Cape Paterson to stay a few days over new years and had to stop by here for this virtual. It was only my daughter and I in my car so we admired the art work and gathered the answers to the questions for what we could, read about the histroy and would research the rest later. While here we also took a quick selfie (attached) and went and checked out the cannons as well for the trad located there.Great spot for a virtual and a favourite from me.Thanks ceebee2013 for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Sorry it has taken so long to log this find. I thought that I had accidentally deleted to necessary photo. I was reading the cache for a pending visit to the area and realised I didn't need a photo. Shame I hadn't re-read the description earlier. Thanks for bringing us here with this cache and for helping out with one of the questions.

A last minute plan had been hatched to make my way to QOGM. Very little planning had been done but a very rough outline was in place and it was going to be a day by day trip.

Starting today at Day 1. Leaving home via Phillip Island and out to Gippsland.

What an interesting and unique item here at GZ. A lovely commemorative park here. Answers submitted to the CO.

Thanks ceebee2013 for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

Targeting a few caches in and around Wonthaggi today, this looked like a nice park to explore, with the added bonus of a Virtual as our reward. Most of the questions were easily attainable, however one caused us a spot of bother, but we did get the opportunity to explore every inch of this reserve.

Answers sent to the CO and a quick reply back regarding the crucial piece of information we had missed was very much appreciated.

Thank you ceebee2013 for a very informative Virtual and the opportunity to learn about the history of Soldiers Reserve.

Slowly heading across the bottom of victoria getting new vic LGA's. Also stopping to get virtual caches trying to my total from 38 to 50 for a challenge cache. This reserve is somewhere i would not have stopped for it is wasn't for this virtual. Answers sent
Left with Mogni the day before Christmas to go down to Mount Gambier for Christmas Day. Then on the 27th left for Victoria. Plan A was to go to the Ottway Rangers, complete the Geo tour in Ballarat and then head to Geelong and take the Queenscliff ferry over to Sorrento then grabbing new LGA's on route to almost the New South Wales/Victoria border and the old 2001 cache near there. Also attending a community day event, a CITO and a couple of other events as well. Then head in to the high country and come back to SA in 11 days. Things didn't go to plan. Turns out that one of my almost new tyres was defective ( side wall blown out ) and blew in the ottway ranges on a narrow road in the rainforest, Drove to Melton to stay overnight and get a new tyre there, tyre machine broken and the other 5 tyre companies not open so off to geelong for a new tyre ( and some caches on the way and in geelong ) . The event we where going to attend in geelong didn't turn out, he was late by ALOT to his own event. Then to ballarat to same day since we had a b&b booked for the next few nights. Planned on getting the ferry at 1200 and ended up on the 400 pm ferry but we did attend a event and CITO in geelong. Then we drive into the rear end of a thunder storm with forecast 20 mm dropping for the next few days. Cancel the high country and change targets to letterbox D/T for fizzy grid only using letterboxes and same wirh the multi fizzy grid plus fizzy grid only using victorian caches plus any challenge caches we where near. Plus getting a few more victorian 2001 caches. And finally any caches that had 40 more more favourite points. Only got soaked to the bone for a couple of days but the water on the tracks was noticeable. On the return home tried to get the rest of the missing LGA's around the Melbourne CBD i missed in the last mega. Still a fun trip was had if not the planned one.

Last find for the day and glad to be heading home against the traffic.

Well I was now supposed to be on my 6 week adventure up to Outback Queensland but with my knee failing me I just had to turn back around and head home.
So after 3 weeks of rest at home I was getting cabin fever so for the last week I just had to get out so Western Victoria beckoned so I could grab a few LGA’s and UBD Country VIC maps which would not involve a lot of walking.
So after finishing of Western Victoria I’m now heading to North Eastern Victoria to do the same.
This will be a 4 day whirl wind tour of a lot of Victoria.
Myrtleford’s LGA and UBD map, Corryong’s UBD map and Bairnsdale UBD map are done and dusted so time to head south east to finish off those maps before heading home.
I think the last time I was in Wonthaggi was one Christmas holidays with the kids when we did the mine tour.
This was a great place to stop for a walk (between rain showers) and I loved what they have done here.
A very interesting read and and you would not of thought that this was needed way down here.
A fav goes out to you for this one.
Answers sent and a quick response from the CO.

Thanks ceebee2013 TFTVC.

We were over from Tasmania for the weekend mainly to catch up with 1TOOLMAN after major surgery, but were staying in Phillip Island (where we caught up with his mum). We passed through Wonthaggi twice today but this is the only GC cache Stainless streel rat and I stopped to do (I have done a couple here before with my family).
There were a few people about but it was Sunday and there a couple of churches here so that makes sense. The good thing with a virtual is the cache can't go missing so stealth is not really of concern. We were intrigued by the art and took a few pictures - not to share here thought.
Permission granted by the CO to log, who apparently saw us as we were leaving.
Thanks ceebee2013 for the virtual cache, and interesting art

We turned up at GZ and it was a bit busy with people, myself and Goose collected the information as best we could and sent it off to the CO before checking out the CORs GCA just down the road.

It turns out the CO spotted us walking away and we missed each other by moments, CO has given the Ok to log this oen, thanks!

This was a long weekend of caching that we had planned to take toolman on with us when he had recovered from what his doctor call a 'tune-up' but due to a delay here and a setback there all he could manage was a catch up over coffee on Saturday morning, it's been a while so it was nice to just have a chat. In the end it was a Friday to Monday trip where myself and goose searched for a small amount of caches to help fill a few of our grids, it was a few days of mixed weather but we still had a good caching trip, thanks to all the COs.

Thanks for the cache.

I had a reason to visit Wonthaggi with my family a few weeks ago. After driving from Melbourne to attend the funeral of a friend we weren't in any hurry to immediately drive back home so we spent a few hours in the area. While my son was catching up with some of his friends, who he hadn't seen for more than two years (due to COVID restrictions), my husband and I walked up McBride Ave and had a look around the Soldiers Reserve.
We enjoyed learning about the items on which this cache is based and also enjoyed the walk to stretch our legs.
Thank you ceebee2013 for this interesting Virtual cache.

We are staying at Grantville because we are in the area for today's River Garden Working Bee in Bass. Set ourselves a challenge of trying to find 11 different cases today. We needed a virtual cache, and they are few and far between. This cache took us to a lovely part of Wonthaggi and gave us a great history lesson into the bargain. The sculpture is a brilliant piece of work, it is functional, beautiful, and the materials used are so on point for what it is commemorating. It is great to see that this sort of memorial. Thank you, ceebee2013, for this cache.

I checked this one out at 08:05 while on my stroll around town this morning. An amazing structure but I don't think you'd want to jump up too quickly - ouch!

A very interesting dedication to those long ago days.

TFTC and a couple of our geocoins had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks ceebee2013.

Today it was a quick trip from home down to Wonthaggi to pick up Mrs SKI’s sewing machine. Well one of them! It was being serviced as it was no longer working effectively and there is no reliable place to have this done in the Valley.
So after picking that up and some quick lunch we headed off to find a few caches.
This new Virtual was our first stop.
Although the town was busy, this park was deserted so we were able to examine the structure and spend some time looking at the other features as well.
We collected our answers and were then on our way to find a few others.

After rolling out the swag last night by the beach near the Powlett River, I continued my trip east today, visiting some interesting places and grabbing a few selected caches along the way. It was terrific weather for it too.

However, if I am going to make Queanbeyan by early next week, I really need to get a bit more focused and stop being distracted bu all the interesting places to visit!

I visited this site quite early in the morning. Its great to see a bit of creativity in these war-related memorials. This one is certainly unique.

Thanks ceebee2013 for the cache.

Did this great virtual cache while visiting Wonthaggi during our Summer holidays in Inverloch. A fascinating park with lots of history to take in here, well worth the walk around. Thanks Ceebee2013 and congrats on your virtual cache.

We ventured down to Wonthaggi for the pre New Year events which has become a tradition over the years, and it is always great to catch up with other geocachers from the area and have a great time at the dinner as well.
We stopped off for this virtual cache and noted the answers plus as a backup I took a few pictures which was a handy way of checking my answers.
I have sent my answers to the CO before logging and hopefully all will be correct.
Many thanks and Happy New Year for 2019 to Ceebee2013 for the Virtual Cache,

Regards

Oh boy do I love a virtual.

When the new releases started coming out in 2017 I was planning a trip to Europe so I had them on a watch list.
Quite a few came out in places I was going.
I was sad not to get my own one. Maybe in the next round?
Anyway I was here with FUF009 while attending the local events. Dropped by and got the answers.
A good bit of history and a well thought out virtual idea.

Find # 7593

Found with sharkiefan.

sharkiefan just loves a virtual cache so when we noticed this one on the map it was a no brainer that we would be going to make our way to GZ at some time today. Big GrinBig Grin

This is quite an interesing and cool item at GZ and the History of the area was a surprise to me.

Answers have been sent before logging cache.

We were here in Wonthaggi with The Coffees. micaparamedic and Goodlook to attend the two events today and as we always enjoy virtual's this one was on the top of our list.
What a fantastic area this is that we knew absolutely nothing about and probably never would have without this cache.
It's great to see these people honoured, they had a very important role but received so little credit.
We really enjoyed the identification chart in the picture showing what they had to. work with.

Collecting the majority of the required information was achieved quickly but the last question slowed us down a little.

Thanks ceebee2013 for placing this virtual, the answers have been sent and a favourite point left.

Made a quick stop off here on the way to the New Years event. Thanks for the cache.

In Wonthaggi simply to close a calendar gap (we're staying in Inverloch but I've already cleaned out that town), we initially headed for the nearby traditional.....oh, it's on a gun.....not in the mood for that torture today. This virtual was just the ticket after that, so we collected the information required, struggled a bit with the last question as we couldn't find the date on anything, and then headed on our way. **This was 1 of 36 caches that was found by me on the 8th of 16 caching days here in Australia. Which also was the 45th of 75 days that my travels thru southeast Asia and Oceania would last.**

Finding the art was easily done. Finding the answers was a little more difficult. But apparently we where successful in that to.

*Together with Ingabo, jsson and Sivun I would spend 16 days in Australia. Our journey started in Melbourne and ended in Sydney. After that I continued to New Zealand while the others headed back towards Melbourne.*
*All in all I did manage to find 263 caches, 9 types, 3 new months and many more statistical fillers.*

Went from Phillip Island to Fish Creek and we stopped for caching for a shorter hike and along the road. Nice park.
We wrote full name or IJPS stand for the first letter i our alias ( Jsson, Ingabo, Peter-tvm, Sivun)
Answer sent from Peter-tvm for all of us.

We, (jsson, peter-tvm, Sivun and myself) went for a small car drive on Philip island today. We logged as IJPS.
We had nice weather so we made some longer walks too.
Peter-tvm will send the answers for all of us.
Thanks for placing a cache for me to enjoy and find.

I was passing through Wonthaggi today with just 2 caches in mind (I was time poor). After failing with the library cache I came here around midday I guess. What an interesting spot with such a lot of stuff to look at.
Would have liked to have sat down but I had things to do, things to count (made a couple of boo boos as it turned out) but ceebee has let me log as I had most right!!
Here is a photo that doesn't I think give anything away.
Congrats on your virtual award..well deserved

On my way home from visiting the grandparents I decided to stop for some caches. I had to add this virtual cache to the found pile! Great bit of park, with some interesting history. It’s very green at the moment!

Thanks for the virtual.

The fourth find of the day. Forget what I said at the previous cache, the weather had turned in a big way and was now AWFUL! Pouring with rain and positively freezing, I could barely feel my fingers the entire time I attempted this cache. At least I was pretty confident with most of my answers. So glad to be heading for the Coffee Collective for a warm burger! Answers sent to CO. TFTV ceebee2013!

Hill Art.
No1. Loved the idea of a aircraft made into a galvanised seat.
What a great idea.
8 non -round mesh shapes.

No2. This seat should be in the town centre.
5 non- round shapes.

No3. Every seat in Wonthaggi should be like these.
22 letters.

No4. Gressing a volunteer air observation lookout.

No 5. This practical art work and tiles.

Some towns have art work of cows , cars etc.
It would be great if Wonthaggi had these seats thoughout the town.
