An unexpected drive into Mackay again today as Subi was playing up and Rainforest Cookie managed to fit us into her company workshop. Swapped Subi keys for Toyota keys, and decided we had better do some caches around town - and there are plenty of them. So I just followed a route of whatever was closest to where we were...
Not wearing right shoes today. Too much rubbish. So after a cursery look at every "hint" I returned to the car empty handed

this container was real grubby log wet and destroyed cleaned up container and new log sheet aboard should be good now 1 bit of swag put in to make it smile again
Over in Mackay for a few days of work to and some time to kill so why not grab a cache.
Many thanks to Van_Diemens_Lad for placing and maintaining Watchout for the trains. I found it, I signed it, and put it back as found.

After getting out in the car earlier for a couple of FTF's on the croc series, it was now the bikes turne so off we rode into town to get a few around there. Had a mixed success but more then face.
Thanks Van_Diemens_Lad for the caches.

Total Cache Finds 13082,
Container full of muddy water, couldn't sign log as mush, took a photo. Coongoola & Geodog are on an adventure after attending the Townsville Mega event in Qld. We found your cache today 12 May 2022 12:51 pm , while enjoying another day out adding to our tally. TFTC Three Rs
We were not totally enamored by the hide here being as it is accessed from under a green ant nest which we didn’t discover until we were covered in ants. The cache is covered in mud inside and outside and the logbook is a brown and slimey. TFTC Van_Diemens_Lad
On a road trip and caching adventure around Central Qld after our Vic mega plans were scuttled. Staying in Mackay for a few nights and seeing the sights of the region.

Sprung by a muggle council worker as we were looking for this one, but that didn’t stop us finding this one.
Our second full day out and about in Mackay with Temingi. Yesterday we broke 13,000 finds and in the next few days Temingi is hoping to crack 14,000. Not too sure why we’re helping him when our eventual goal is to reach and then pass him! Still, it’s always good to go out caching with like minded mates. If nothing else, the stories are always good to share.
We want to say thanks to all the local cache owners for placing these caches for us to find. Without you this wonderful pastime wouldn’t exist. We certainly appreciate your efforts in developing, placing and maintaining all the caches. We have lots of fun and plenty of exercise thanks to you.

Another cache to add to our list. But of a neglected area but found easily. TFTC
Today we started the day by searching for a cache we suspected we could grab a FTF, then we commenced a (sort of) "next closest" caching run until it was time to catch up wit some friends for morning tea.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache pretty close to where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny

TFTC. It was a nice little hide. Mackay is blessed with so many great caches.
Sunday morning grab. Easy to locate and good parking. This is the first of many today. I hope. Cheers.
Found with orth71 on a trip from Townsville to Mackay to see family for Christmas.
Out and about caching on the 28th.
Quick find while fighting off the vampires.
Had to keep them off mrs geocacher while she filled in the log.

This one was kind of on the way home. I could see it from a distance as the rain had washed away the camo. The rain is holding off so we have decided to head back and get the car to go further afield. Tftc
Off for a nice little dinner at the Chinese restaurant and a little cache on the way. I was worried that the container had been muggled as someone has made a DIY ziplock. I am always up for a recycling job!
Found by Mary and David at 15:10. Good to see this space being used and not just left to Mother Nature to cover up. So many rail trails are used for caching in Victoria. David now has an eBike just for those, and similar, trails. Our thanks to OzGeoker.
Caching in and around Mackay and surrounds we picked up a few caches and this was one of them.
Cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Was a little worried as area looked like it had been cut back recently. All good found safe applied some more camo.
Nice super easy find took about two seconds thanks it’s been awhile since we found anything
Not sure whether its a DNF due to cache blindness or a DNF because its gone. Being relatively experienced cachers (360 finds) we couldn't find it anywhere. Checked in all the obvious and not so obvious places but it was a nought for us.
Mackay Day2
Today we decided to cache closer to the city. We usually find caching in unfamiliar towns quiet frustrating. Some of the roads on the GPS don't exist or are one way which doesn't help.
We found a good variety of caches in some amazing locations.

Was found tampered with on the ground by the fence. New paper left and put back where we thought it would be a good spot.

Not likely to see too many trains here these days, more likely to see pedestrians,
We did see a cat who watched us make the find

Quick find after work. I think the trains were gone before I was born, great walk way now.
