Josie - you continue to elude us. Have an interesting range of scratches from grovelling around a number of trees.

Spent a while exploring but couldn't spot any cache. Beautiful location

14-Dec-19
No luck here for me today. Suspect that the cache may have gone AWOL as I had a decent look and sure couldn't find it. Could have been a case of cache blindness though - time will tell...

No luck for me here today, Enjoyed the playground though

Found on my trip north enjoying the caches. Better weather today so need to catch up on caches that I missed yesterday because of the rain

20-Jun-19
Find number 5622. The power company was doing work near my house so the power was to be disconnected most of the day. So I decided to go caching. Whanga today was wet and windy. Found the cache and that was all the treasure I wanted. Just about dark so it was time to grab some Fish n Chips and head back to Hamilton

18-Jun-19
Parked nearby in our motor home. Nice walk along the beach collecting a few caches.
Thanks

Found easily but we had a15 minute search to see if we could make sense of the map. Even gave the tree a climb to the top after seeing the timber platform and tree climbing as an attribute, but nothing was found up there. We assumed it's by a River by the drawing by can't see a River nearby. Maybe we think too much into things. Tftc Josie. P.S. the map is not the log book!

Out for another caching mission with Cats&Dragons today, with the goal to focus on caches along the Eastern side of the Coromandel Peninsula, starting in Whitianga and working our way down to Whangamata. A early start from Hamilton saw us pulling up to the first cache just after 5am, with the last cache for the day found a little before 3pm.

We got lucky with the weather with only a few showers throughout the day, and I successfully found 46 caches throughout the day, with only 3 DNF's. A very enjoyable day in a truly spectacular place. A big thanks to all the CO's who placed the caches we found.

16-Jun-19
Early morning Caching Mission to see what was up the Coromandal Peninsula, and working our way back from Whitianga down to Whangamata. This way we would leave enough caches to make the cache run worth it, hitting it from the south which would make it an easier day next time.Today I was in the company of HKCB, (logs were generally signed HKCD) and we soon set in putting the world to rights, discussed may sports and enjoyed good music, caches along with fantastic sunshine.Managed a total of 63 caches and only 3DNF's so all in all a pretty good outcome. We set out from home, departing at 3am with a long drive, and big day ahead of us. The good thing at this time is that there are very few other cars to worry about on the winding roads. We eventually made it back home by 4.30pm.

Now as we near the end of our day, there may be time to see what more we can grab. All quiet at this end of the road making for a quick find.
A big thank you to all the cache owners for their diligence in maintaining these caches for the likes of us to enjoy.

03-May-19
Thanks Josie this one was great
We are on a road trip in our campervan to do some bike trails with geocaches along them and the plan is to head to Bowentown and on up to Whangamata then on to Pauanui. All these places have bike trails with geocaches along them so I wish to thanks the C O s who placed the geocaches along the trails as We really enjoy doing trails and getting geocaching numbers up.
Other geocaches were also sought out as we went along to help fill the day in. We were pleased most caches were well maintained and only had 3 no finds along the way
many thanks

Our family was offered some cheap accomodation during the school holidays so we were fortunate to be able to come and stay here for a few says. We bought the bikes and decided to go for a late afternoon ride and grab some geocaches which we hadn't grabbed on previous visits to the area. No issues locating this one. Sorry for taking so long to log it!

A raid to Whangamata Alot of campers in the carpark but none at gz

10-Mar-19
Had decided on a campsite further north of here, but got fed up of driving so decided to come here and see whether we could grab one of the 5 spaces. When we drove up they were all taken, so we decided to go for a swim and then move on. Luckily when we finished our swim, a van moved, so we moved our van for the night and realised that this cache was only feet away!
A quick find at GZ, lots of ants!

Enjoyed a little road trip staying the night in Whanga enjoying a great dinner with friends on Saturday. On Sunday I made my way over to K-Gorge for a River Safety Course to lean and cool down in the river. Had some time early morning before leaving town for three more finds. TFTC

31-Jan-19
There were lots of cars parked right there, so I had to stop my car in an unassigned place and dash out. There were facilities right there, so no one asked any questions and I didn't have to explain my real reason for being there. I found the cache with some really good camo. It looks like Josie will be giving G-2 a run for his money some day. TFTC.

I'm in Whanga on a girls trip leaving MrCoblet to his own devices, and the first thing I did on arrival was to pick up this cache. My grandparents lived just across the road for many years so it's my favourite part of the beach, pretty cool playground too. I enjoyed finding this, great camo and I enjoyed the artwork. Well done to Josie. Now off to sit on the beach for a while.

In Whangamata for a few days of school holiday fun, relaxation and finding a few more caches to get some frustrating Hidden Creatures.

Sharkboy was very keen to check out this playground and he has now decided this is his favourite playground. We came back here a few times over our holiday so thank you so much for showing us this very cool spot. I ducked off and found the cache while waiting for him to finish playing on the flying fox.

A great day out with part of Team BOP. After meeting up early, headed off to clear a few areas on our maps. Had the best of winters weather today, had a great time with lots of laughs in between all our wonderful finds. Many thanks to the cache owners for their placements, (please excuse any cut and paste logs as there are many), and thanks for bringing us back to this wonderful part of NZ. Cheers.

23-Jun-18
We'd assembled the team for another assault on the Coromandel today - my favourite part of the country. We didn't quite finish Whangamata last time so we're here today to clean this place out. This cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords and a straight forward placement. Cheers G-2, TFTC Smile

Me and rustynz came down to Whangamata, from Auckland for a very long day of caching, but mainly to try for a possible ftf on a new virtual cache that popped up a few days ago here in Whangamata. If you want to read about ***that*** adventure look at GC7B898. So afterwards, when we were changed and dry we came here since the cache was only 60 odd meters away from where I parked the car. I think I found this one? Not sure but anyway we signed in me and rusty and now it's time for a breakfast at a bakery here in Whangamata!

With gorby on a caching day of fun in Whangamata and beyond!

We had parked nearby, and it would be rude not to come and find the nearest cache, so here we are. Gorby took the high ride, I the low road, and then we converged at the cache. Gorby found the cache, and the log was soon being signed. Thanks G-2 for the hide, I like the camo on this one.

04-Mar-18
Tftc Josie. A well camo'd container nicely tucked away here. A vague feeling of dejavu here, as I'm sure there's been a cache in this reserve previously, but I guess it must have gone M.I.A? Such a cool playground here, so definately worthy location for a cache.

04-Mar-18
It was funny following a very similar caching route to a previous one that I'd done with thescoobydoos. It was definitely a dejavu feeling here! Thescoobydoos spotted the cool container while I was well off the mark. Nice one, tftc.

I was a little apprehensive when I got to GZ as there were a lot of beer bottles around but I shouldn't have worried. Quickly found the cleverly camouflaged cache. Well done on your first hide! TFTC. FP for the camo.

04-Feb-18
Seems like a popular spot for tree climbing as we visited this one twice before the coast was clear of kids. Nice work with the camo Josie and well done on your first hide. This one is all safe here, TFTC! Big Grin

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... And my new friend Voltarin.

My back has been sore for a couple of days, and I’ve been trying all sorts of stretches to work things back into place. I arrived at Gap’s this morning and was presented with good drugs... The first few steps were jarring, but once the medicine kicked in, we were away...

Thankfully, this one was placed far enough away from nosy muggles. We spotted this one quickly... and signed the map (Doh! At least we’re not the only ones). Eventually signed the log too. TFTC.

Kids had fun finding this whilst playing at the park Smile

21-Jan-18

20-Jan-18
A great hide with the camo. I managed to get covered with loads of ants so there's a nest at GZ. Nice to meet 3 young boys doing some geocaching as well. Tftc

Wow, we found the world’s best cache - woo hoo!!!

Dear Josie, thank you so much for hiding your lovely cache at our favorite beach. We love coming here. We’ve played lots of cricket games at this park over the years and our kids have had a lot of fun on the new playground, even though they are now a bit big for it! I saw the notice about your special hide early this morning. The best cache in the world meant it was very tempting to rush here & look for this by myself when I was out for my very early morning run but I decided to wait for my teenagers to wake up so that we could look for it together. A special cache at our special place had to be found together!

We walked along the beach to get here, as we usually do, and followed the path up the dunes. There were a lot of people already playing on the playground but nobody took any notice of some teenage boys mucking about under the nearby tree. Wasn’t long until there was a loud whisper that the cache had been found and, to our surprise, no-one else had signed the log yet. We were very excited to have a FTF! We then opened up your treasure map and soon realized that another pirate had beaten us to it & had autographed your map instead of the log. Never mind! We were still really pleased to find your cache. We love your map & we love the great job you did with your camo. A big fav point from us! Thanks so much for the cache, Josie

I checked my phone this morning and found there were some new caches in town so had breakfast and away Thanks for the Cache and the empty log sheet. and a special thanks to Josie I really like the container and the map which I signed.

14-Jan-18
I was just here a few weeks back and had no luck here for a cache - now good to see a new cache there . Quickly found this time but yes heaps of ants are invading the cache - had to brush them all off me as I was walking back to the car and yes they do bite. A nice cache and I loved the treasure map thanks so much for placing it for us to find TFTC

14-Jan-18
Great work Josie! This was next on our list and after parking in the new carpark nearby we headed past many children enjoying the play-ground so they weren't interested in us. Soon had a very G-2 ish camoed container. Loved the map. We were surprised that there was a new name on the log with us second. Now that I have read the other log I understand! Thanks Josie for placing such a cool cache.

14-Jan-18
Great to see you getting into the hides of geocaching Josie ...you have an awesome trainer And I fear there will be some very tricky hides on the horizon ....this is a great placement and you have done a fine job of this cache and it should stand the test of time Thanks Josie and G2

14-Jan-18
Well I wasnt expecting to be back in Whangamata so soon. With some unfinished business on the island and the added attraction of some new caches, I made my third visit here, all in one week. This time with NZFlossy and muggle wife.
Well this is a familiar spot, after being here only two days ago, searching for a missing cache amongst a zillion ants.
Thanks for bringing me back here.
TFTC

Cool cache. Looking at the log sheet you have a lot of logs to come. Lol love your map. Love your camo job done in your cache. Almost had me fooled. But not the ants. Man do those things bite. Hope I don't get Ants in my pants. Tftc
