I have NOT replaced this cache. if there's one there it's a throw down and not allowed under geocaching rules.
I noticed this one has had a couple of DNFs recently, so decided to call by for a look (I'd sussed out the hide on a scouting mission some weeks back). I couldn't find it either, and I'm pretty sure it's gone. Needs an owner check!
First visit to New Zealand, and what a way to see this beautiful country - a lap of the South Island by motorhome!
First stop of the journey was Christchurch. First cache attempt was on this one, and unfortunately started with a DNF.

Slept all day and ran out of time to get my cache of the day before work. So made an excuse to sneak out part way through my night shift... Nandos in Riccarton was a good excuse. Instant find. GLB1721 TFTC (4242)
TFTC. An early morning city cache chase with the hope of reduced muggle numbers.
Thanks Jess53nz for placing the cache.

After finishing my uni course at lunchtime, I hopped on the nearest bus (well after a small visit to the uni health team, seriously one week in??!!) I then made my way to riccarton mall. I was starting to get cabin fever so I decided to go geocaching instead. This was the last one of the day and was a quick grab while waiting for the bus, even if I did scratch my leg on the roses. Oh well it can join the scrape in my other leg from earlier today. Tftc
On our way to the airport, we stopped at the shopping mall nearby this windy morning. As I saw this geocache on the map, I headed it. It was a fast grab and the last one in New Zealand during our visit; tftc
#490. After leaving my wife shopping at Riccarton Mall, I decided to quickly get this cache. Easy peasy, but container quite wet inside, although logbook in its bag is ok for now. Tftc Jess53nz. Greetings from Wellington.
Quiet School holiday Monday so it was an easy grab. Tb not there, but previous finders noted that they had moved it out. Tftc
After 12 hours flight and the check-in in the motel I was looking for a bank and a good dinner. On the way to the Westfield Center I stopped at Kauri Street and found my first Cache in New Zealand - and a TB.

I needed to find a cache for today's souvenir, and I figured this would be a good one close to home. Found it very quickly and discovered the trackable inside. Thanks for the cache!!
Found with NZDi. With the Christmas madness over and the extended family travelling near and far for their holidays NZDi and I found ourselves at a loose end. Not wanting to hang around home like Darby and Joan, we booked a couple of nights in a motel in Christchurch and headed off down the line... the newly opened State Highway One that is, which had been closed for one year, one month and one day due to the Kaikoura earthquake.
We were awestruck to see the power Mother Nature had wrought upon the landscape and were equally amazed at the engineering feats mankind had used to overcame Mother Nature's carnage. On our trip south we made a deliberate decision not to cache so that we could get a true indication of how long the trip now took. For us that was four hours and fifteen minutes including the three comfort/morning tea stops totalling around half and hour. A pretty good effort we thought and just over half the time it took us last time we went by the other route.
Once in Christchurch our first stop was to hit one of the malls for lunch and to take advantage of the end of the Boxing Day sales... I did mention the Christmas madness was over, didn't I? Afterwards we checked out the geocaching map for some local caches. We avoided a nearer one due to a bunch of drop-outs loitering in the area, and made our way here for a QEF.
Dropped a TB I've been carrying around with me for a while.

Quick find, but took a while to return due to heavy muggle traffic... But managed to find a quiet moment. TFTC
This morning we left the campsite at 10.30 to go on foot to the centre and look for some caches on the way. Some caches were an easy find and some were not found for different reasons.
There were no real interesting caches in this series, so we will settle for one log for them all and, when necessary, put an extra note.
This one was an easy find.

No work plus A fine day plus Low calendar stats equals perfect geocaching conditions.
I had just been to my least favorite shopping mall. This find made the mall experience better.

7732. Had a spare couple of hours this morning after doing some jobs so decided to continue the challenge from yesterday and try to find some geocaches with no GPS, no maps, no cellphone and no hints! Relied on the information from the other night and set out this morning tech-less and paperless !! Attempted nine and found five, relying only on memory, experience and instinct. This was find number four and an easy one. I went to the obvious place and found it immediately. No muggles watching. Thanks for the cache. Rodney.

Been out to the airport to pick up Ruru_NZ off the flight from New Plymouth so while she had a break before next flight, headed to Riccarton Mall for her to see daughter, have lunch for us both and find a cache. This was the closest to get before heading back to airport. By the time I had it up on the phone she had walked to it and with it tucked under her arm we headed to nearby seats to sign the log. No problems with muggles today, was replaced and no one at home to see either. Stealth would really need to be used here in most cases.
Had just a couple of hours between arriving from New Plymouth and leaving for Invercargill. Kindly met at the airport by KCN. When I to the mall to drop off something to my daughter - saves it coming to Southland with me then back with her at Christmas.
That and lunch done we headed here. Managed a close park, and a quick retrieval. Took a nearby seat to sign log and managed to replace between the few muggles. Not to bad to get in business hours, no overlooking businesses, its just the muggles that live close and those that park up this way.
Thanks for the smilie.

Was in Christchurch for a long weekend as I had to come into Christchurch for a sales meeting Friday as well as I needed to attend our annual Christmas function on Saturday night. Decided to pick up a rental car and if luck would have it I would go around and pick up a few caches between my meeting and the Christmas function. Today was my final day 4 of 4 of my long weekend in Christchurch.
As I was staying in Riccarton, and just about 200 metres from this cache it was only rude not to try and attempt this cache as it was the nearest one to my accomodation. Decided that I would walk down to GZ as it wasnt that far away, was glad that I did as there were a few muggles around but they werent paying any attention as to what I was doing.
Arriving at GZ, I checked to make sure that there wasnt anyone looking and then it was a very quick retrieval, signed and then replaced the cache back as found. Thanks Jess53nz for placing this cache here and for bringing me to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (12801)

*May have signed as "Ivars" - had changed my username for a couple of days but then changed it back again to the original.*
Went to the cache after the Saturday Farmers market in Riccarton Bush. Nice and easy find, no muggles at GZ at that moment.

More after work cache finding. Making the most of the fact that I've had to be starting work a little earlier since I can no longer run to work in the mornings & need to be dropped off instead, but daughters daycare still finishes at the same time, so noone even notices that mum & I actually have about half an hour each day to 'detour' on the way home lol!
A speedy find - though we did accidentally go down the worng street & park in the wrong place at first!!
TFTC!!

Great opportunity to grab a few on the way home! Quick find once we were in the right spot! TFTC!!
In Christchurch for a family celebration. We’d just dropped off our brother at the airport and my sister decided we’d look for a few caches on our way ‘home’. Quick find. #1528. TFTC.
Down in Christchurch for the weekend for a celebration and we had just dropped one brother off at the airport. The other brother (a geocacher) and I stopped to grab a few smileys on the way back to our accommodation. Quick find here, TFTC
Out on a city cyclocache ride from Redwood. Was surprised at the lack of muggles and traffic at this GZ. Easy find. TFTC
Quick find. I think I was subtle enough not to be noticed. Came on the bike on the way to work. Stunning weather lately. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. BJ25. Find# 1417.
Exploring Christchurch today. Decided to change our route to head in a different direction, and picked this one up on the way
Busy old main street but no one around here. Quick find and sign and still no one around at 16:30hrs on a Friday. Wow!! Thanks we love these little urban caches.
thanks for the placement, we have been loved travelling and visiting the roads of Christchurch and the many caches each CO has taken the time to place, thank you for taking the time to place and maintain them.
Wasn't sure how I would get on here on a weekday morning but there was actually no one about. The cache was a quick find. TFTC.
We thought we'd have trouble here as there were Muggles about. But it was actually a quick find.
Phew it had just been returned when the House Owner pulled into his Driveway..LTB TFTH

Even at 12.30 on a sunny(ish) Wednesday it's possible to do this one. Just pretend to send a text until the muggle is gone and swoop. Retreat, sign the log, and repeat to return the cache
A bit of moisture inside the container but the log book bag is doing its job.

Heading out on a Mad Monday Mission with TG and 8MA. The evening was stunningly warm, good ol' Nor' Wester and it was still light. Daylight Savings and geocaching go hand in hand for evening missions. Did I mention it was warm. The plan was to cruise north to grab a few of the new caches and then mop up the ones in town and hope for the best. Rather sedate night for the crew. Thanks to 8Man there were travelling snacks to keep us sustained 'to find just one more'.
Heading home and made a quick grab.
Thanks for the cache Jess53nz.

I work nearby, so went out for a lunch time stroll (and cache). Unfortunately, it started to drizzle just before I set out but I suppose that meant the muggles wouldn't be lingering today.
No worries with the find, but after doing the paperwork, suddenly muggles appeared from all directions and I had to bide my time until everyone disappeared again. BTW, the camo paint is coming off which makes it all too easy to locate. TFTC.

Sunday - late afternoon. Not a bad time to retrieve this one. Fairly quiet. A quick sign further down the street then returned before any muggles appeared. Thanks for the hide.
Heading towards this evenings Event in Harwood and stopped past this Cache. Quick find and sign at a quiet time. Cheers.
A bit tricky during business hours, but went in quickly for the lift and signed in the car, then back very nippy to it's place. TFTH
Very cold morning had a bit of shopping to do. So looking for a cache was an incentive to wrap up and venture out. TFTC
Made a nice change from my lunchtime walk to head somewhere new for a smiley. Love the Kauri Trees along here, some even with cones! Thanks for another placement nearby.

Hmm. A colleague (we'll call him "Andy") contacted me last week to cover one of his lectures at the Uni this morning, as he was injured. Of course I said "yes". Well, I saw this one came up on my way to teach...what to do?!?!?! With only 17 minutes before lecture, I decided to go there first, then cycle over to this one if it still hadn't been found. Needless to say, it had not, so I biked over at a sprinter's pace, then made the quick find. Yus!!! Blank log. Container already had water in it, even though it was just placed. Maybe a Systema would be better in the future. Happy to make the find, ahead of TW, TG, and the rest for once.

Nice easy find on the way home from work. Nice and quiet at 6pm and yes this is a great place to park when the mall is busy. TFTH
