Find number 5622. The power company was doing work near my house so the power was to be disconnected most of the day. So I decided to go caching. I had looked for this on a previous visit without success so it was back today for another look. Thankfully this time I was successful. Thank you for the placement.
Out for another caching mission with Cats&Dragons today, with the goal to focus on caches along the Eastern side of the Coromandel Peninsula, starting in Whitianga and working our way down to Whangamata. A early start from Hamilton saw us pulling up to the first cache just after 5am, with the last cache for the day found a little before 3pm.
We got lucky with the weather with only a few showers throughout the day, and I successfully found 46 caches throughout the day, with only 3 DNF's. A very enjoyable day in a truly spectacular place. A big thanks to all the CO's who placed the caches we found.
A few muggles about but easily spotted for a quick grab.

Early morning Caching Mission to see what was up the Coromandal Peninsula, and working our way back from Whitianga down to Whangamata. This way we would leave enough caches to make the cache run worth it, hitting it from the south which would make it an easier day next time.Today I was in the company of HKCB, (logs were generally signed HKCD) and we soon set in putting the world to rights, discussed may sports and enjoyed good music, caches along with fantastic sunshine.Managed a total of 63 caches and only 3DNF's so all in all a pretty good outcome. We set out from home, departing at 3am with a long drive, and big day ahead of us. The good thing at this time is that there are very few other cars to worry about on the winding roads. We eventually made it back home by 4.30pm.
Now as we near the end of our day, there may be time to see what more we can grab. the Sports Fishing Club was fairly quiet so managed a quick find
A big thank you to all the cache owners for their diligence in maintaining these caches for the likes of us to enjoy.

Other times we’ve attempted this cache every man his dogs kids and whanau have descended from nowhere. Today on this windy but sunny day we had luck on our side! Cache is in good condition. Great to finally put a smiley on it. Thanks.

Found this geocache at night while spending a few days with the family in a friends batch. I was able to park only a couple of meters from GZ so had no trouble making the find. I'm not sure why I bothered grabbing this one at night since I spent a few hours here the next day with my sons fishing on the wharf and could have easily got it then.
Die Dose lag leider einfach so am Boden rum, hätte sie fast nicht gefunden.
Anbei mal ein Spoilerfoto.

Came down early the morning to get this one while nobody was about. Looked very carefully around the tree in all the likely places and about to give up when I potted it on the ground several metres away. Signed the log and placed it back in a place matching the hit. TFTC
#736 - On my way home from a girls weekend in Whitianga. This was lying out in the open so I placed back where I thought it should belong. TFTC
Day 2 of our Whangamata holiday and on the quest for more caches and some fun winter beach time. Decided today we would head to Pauanui to tackle the cycle trail and a few others.
A post dinner geocache. No problems finding this one, was very exposed. Tried to cover a little better.

A great day out with part of Team BOP. After meeting up early, headed off to clear a few areas on our maps. Had the best of winters weather today, had a great time with lots of laughs in between all our wonderful finds. Many thanks to the cache owners for their placements, (please excuse any cut and paste logs as there are many), and thanks for bringing us back to this wonderful part of NZ. Cheers.
We'd assembled the team for another assault on the Coromandel today - my favourite part of the country. We didn't quite finish Whangamata last time so we're here today to clean this place out. This cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords and a straight forward placement. We signed the log as Team BOP for expedience and to save on log space. Some good camo though, cheers G-2, TFTC

Out with Els today. No worries finding this one, this rock wasn't here last time I visited Whanga. TFTC
After sleeping in Whitianga for the night it was time to explore the area whilst leisurely making our way back to Auckland. We were now headed to Whangamata for some lunch and decided to stop along the way for some caches.
Nice quick find here.
Thanks for the cache.

Around & around I went muttering where did all the muggles come from.FINALLY the coast was clear.TFTC
Went to get this months back but the place was alive with muggles...nice and peaceful today and found with out problem...I wonder...is that a green stone rock
Last time we were here it was muggle central so we just drove on down the road. Today is very quiet. I laughed when I spotted the hide - talk about hidden in full view! Thanks for the placement G-2
We were walking past and junior cacher noticed this stone and wanted me to read it to him. So I did and then remembered that I'd saved a cache with a similar name. So checked the gps and yep, this was only a few meters away. Junior cacher and his cousin were very pleased to make the find. Tftc!
Found in the open on the ground, by the tree. Tried to hide it a bit better.
Thanks G-2.

Managed to find Rangi's stone while enjoying an afternoon at the club while at the beach hop weekend. Awesome.
Another quick find, I'm amazed cache is still there, it was out in the open, I placed it where I thought it's hideing place is. Cheers
Second to last one for this afternoon getting a bit warm time to head back for some refreshments. Tftc
Tftc. A quick find here as it was somewhat exposed on our arrival. Signed log and tucked away where we suspected it should have been.
Another quick stop and find, mostly just tagging along as thescoobydoos had her device ready for navigation well before me. Hope this one lasts as it seems a bit out in the open for a busy place like this. TFTC
I'd have thought that this location was far too exposed to last but the camouflage does work remarkably well. This cache has been placed since we last cleared out this end of Whangamata so there's a little bit of tidying up to do. TFTC.
We weren't sure if we were able to get this one due to the tents up as the game fishing club had a Waitangi weekend tournament. With no one around, we snuck in and quickly found the cache. A quick sign of the log and we were off again. All good here - TFTC!
4.00pm. Came over to visit a friend in Moana House so why not see if we can find some that have come up since we were last in Whanga. Took a little while as we were aware of a muggle sitting in a car right close. But he took no notice and walked away. Soon had it in hand then.
Thankyou Glynn. David and Noeline.

2.45pm - Able to park right beside cache. Area very busy but no problems to loacate cache. SLTFTC
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... And my new friend Voltarin.
My back has been sore for a couple of days, and I’ve been trying all sorts of stretches to work things back into place. I arrived at Gap’s this morning and was presented with good drugs... The first few steps were jarring, but once the medicine kicked in, we were away...
Lots of people everywhere... We managed to get in and out without too much fuss. TFTC.

Never noticed this rock before. Found cache lying out in the open so replaced it under some cover. Tftc
Woke up and laid there thinking should or should I not go. Why not. Thought the ftf would be gone when we got here. Sure enough just as we arrive logs finally go up. Easy find. Not to sure how long it will stay there though. Lol Oh well day caching in whangamata it is. Tftc
I checked my phone this morning and found there were some new caches in town so had breakfast and away thanks for the Cache and the empty log sheet. The town is quite busy this time in the morning. There are so many people walking past this area you just have to wait
Very busy down here today but it was expected in holiday time and a nice day as well. There have been a few caches in this area over the years as they seem to go missing. TFTC and trying again
Another random tree with a cache in it. You sure have this town covered, but what a beautiful place to visit!
Thanks for attracting me back here. I will be back.
