Yep - water was in there again and I see how it is happening. So placed a new log sheet in the container and placed the container upside down so water doesn't get in.

Easy find

Along the muddy track we continued to find Gregg. Cache was easy to spot, but container was half full of water (which we tipped out) and the logbook was sopping wet. Attempted to scrawl our name. Didn’t replace the logbook as it would be soaking wet again next rainfall. The entire cache needs some maintenance to stop water getting in.

I went with Fitzy_1965 for a long weekend drive up the east coast to Port Macquarie caching along the way and visiting several new towns and villages. A highlight was a get together with Pprass & Kat after a few mega 4wd climbs in the afternoon. Day 3 took us back into the hills west of the coast from Pt Macquarie. One too many, but it was fun. A little caching around the outskirts of Pt Macquarie before finishing the day in the Port caravan park. Very civilised.

This set of caches out to the dam was a fun way of seeing bits of the track in more detail. It was eerie at the base of the dam wall, I am glad I did not have to climb up.

Thanks for the cache pprass

21,997. Found during an epic trip up to Port Macquarie and back with albida33 over a 4 day weekend. Often signed as F65 A33. After heading up to Taree from Goulburn on Friday, we cached up to and reached Port Macquarie yesterday.

Day 3 of our North Coast Adventure, and after slumming it in a Hotel last night (the local Showgrounds and Caravan Parks were not taking anyone who was not self contained. We were even asked if we had bathrooms after I said we were in Swags?????) we were up early for another days caching fun around the Port Macquarie and Wauchope region. We were especially keen to do the Forest Road series today, plus and Challenge Caches which we might be able to get. This was the next find of the day. Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then we headed off to the next one.

Thanks ThousandYardStare !!

This was a fun detour on a day that I thought I had planned so well last night Razz
That plan went out the window back in the acreages of Manning Smile
Now I was bouncing the geomobile along the sometimes muddy trail towards some dam place !! [:o]

A creek crossing along the way washed off some of the mud [^]
And reaching GZ I went for a short stroll to the obvious hiding place for this cache Big Grin

G'day Gregg Smile

On a caching expedition with ozglory. They were on a mission to find the required number for the Turtle souvenir. This one was first on our list! If not for a robust 4WD and excellent navigating around the gullies, washouts, ditches and mud puddles we would never have found it. But find it we did!! Now, to do a 10 point turn to make the return journey.

A big day of caching today. We continued along the track and went as far as we felt comfortable in the XV. the track crossed the creek and even though it was rocky underneath we didn't want to drive across it. probably for the best as just beyond it there was a large mud puddle that i think we would have difficulty getting through. it was only about 1km from blue creek dam so a lot shorter than if we had to walk from the start of track. Managed to walk past it before the GPS caught up then went back and spotted the GZ. Quick find and sign and we continued on our way to the dam. TFTC

We have headed south a few weeks early to have a little holiday prior to attending the Oz Geomuster Mega event. We have found ourselves based in Port Macquarie for a few days which has enable us to spend some time exploring some of the nearby towns. Razz

Today, we took a drive out toward Wauchope, exploring a few 4WD tracks which ended up taking us south as far as Herons Creek for the day. We had no difficulty in locating the cache and with our name added to the log book, we continued on our way.

Thank you pprass for having placed the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy Cool

Big Grin A "FEW" more puddles to jump over!!! A good size cache container !! "Geokids" type !!Thanks ThousandYardStare. Wink

12-Dec-17
We'd come through a few muddy puddles and a water crossing (which may or may not have been the source of a leech) before getting to this. Another good size container which makes this a great series for energetic kids . . . or energetic anyone. Big Grin TFTC ThousandYardStare.

This was our 4th cache along the blue creek dam trail. This cache was found quite quickly as our GPS led us straight to it.
Thanks for the cache

11-Oct-17
Found at 3:07 PM GAFF1.
I tried to find out who "Gregg" was, but all I could find i nthe library was a 1932 residence book which listed a Mrs Gregg who was a publican in Wauchope. Wonder if she owned a property out here?
As we approached GZ we spotted a massive structure and I just couldn't resist but saying - "I bet it is in there" And so it was [^]
However I don't think that it is placed as it should be as there was a string loop on the cache and nowhere to place it. It may need some attention as where it is placed now it will fall off - it is currently precariously placed on a thin ledge.
Now back through the mud and puddles, through the "gate" and past the heavy machinery and onto Bago Winery to check out what their wines are like this year [^]
Thanks ThousandYardStare.

Last one for the day, stopped to grab this one too complete all the caches on this trail. Such a great spot to walk/ride/4wd. Thanks for putting these out here.

16-Sep-17
Today we headed back towards Blue Creek Dam, a couple of new caches placed since we were here a week ago.
We met 2 cyclist on the way in who mentioned a rope accross the road advising of tree felling. We had just past all the machinery & nobody was working & no notices seen at that stage. We decided to proceed & passed under the rope.
The road was not wet as expected after the recent rain, but large ruts were negotiated. At Gz a likely hide was soon spotted.
Thanks for placing this cache ThousandYardStare
