We were walking the Waikareao walkway and were pleased to have some respite from the motorway and some tree cover as it was starting to get quite hot. When we saw the hint we thought this cache may take a while but were pleased to spot it almost immediately. This is such a great walkway and it looks like the best is yet to come. A fabulous day for it. Thanks macwatt.
Nice find for the little one today, after a massive bike ride for the 3 of us it was a nice way to finish our adventure. Nicely spotted by eagle eye Loki while Vin and Sas were stumped by the decoy. TFTC
TFTC. Decoy tripped us up for a second but then we walked across the path. Greetings from Iowa USA
Thanks for your amazing cache Macwatt. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches. It took me a while to see the light then I had an ahaaa moment. Found with Fisha1288 and signed as F & C Cheers, Cympull.
I found the decoy first, thinking it was an easy find. After inspection, I could not find a place for the log. Read the previous logs and looked in a different tree. Found it after a bit. It was quite high up. I had to climb the tree to get it. Did not place it back as high as found but still above my head!
I found the CITO object but no sign of a place to hide a logsheet. Will send a private photo.
Thanks Macwatt for the cache. Its #1876 for us. We found your cache on Monday 29 January 2024. Log wet
Easy find, but the log was a mess, so we added a strip of new paper to sign. You may want to replace it soon. TFTC
Log was in rough shape so added paper and signed. Nice bike ride around Tauranga.
Nice hide, found with kre8ive, log was damp and unable to write on, pic for validity
It was bit of a stretch, but one of the easier finds. Very unique container however it's causing rust on the log, may need new paper but unfortunately we didn't have any with us. The children enjoyed finding this one. TFTC
Stayed in the Freedom camping spot at the mouth of the Waikareao estuary. Headed out for an early morning walk around the estuary. Quick find and log signed. That reminds me - time for breakfast and a Cleanup of the camper van. Thanks for the smiley
Easy to find thankfully but I had difficulty getting it apart. We are staying nearby so have taken part away to sort out. Will replace next year! Happy New Year.
Had me stumped for a bit but then reading a few logs before me it was pretty easy to see… was hard to get open so just left it as is
Nice quick find with a handy step to reach up. Had to wade through the big puddle to get in and out. Now I need to clean up. TFTC
Checked cache and it was not in its normal place..a quick search soon found it on the ground..preformed maintenance ..replaced manky log and cleaned cache container...all good to go and begging to be found
Happy hunting

An awesome find, love the cache. Unfortunately it was full of water and log was soaking so could not sign it.
I think the last time I was here was for the cleanup but the good thing is it’s looking pretty clean now. Took entirely too long to find the cache and once I saw it couldn’t believe I missed it. As previous logs said moisture is initially here so could not sign the log.
Understand the name now. Hint had me confused but quickly spotted something out of place. Had to let the water out. Tftc
Hadn't really read about it when we arrived to gz. Scratched our heads and eventually noticed something a little odd.
Unique cache container, might need a check up as the water didnt drain out of it. Bison o-ring has worn out and not waterproof, tried drying out bit wasnt able to sign.

This was a neat and yes, a novel find. I’d like to report that the area is still quite tidy. TFTF

As mentioned earlier we have had our eyes tested and were in the mood to put a smile on some frowns today, this one was not as a result of poor eyesight as we spotted the replacement quickly, hopefully that was already broken when you turned it into the cache or you might get quite hairy..... Not sure it will help for your step count

#918 - Finally found after work today, after previously trying and failing. So obvious but so hard to find at the same time. TFTC.
I also had real trouble trying to get the log out. Must have weak fingers.

In between open homes we thought what better way to pass the time than doing some caches. We were pushing our luck with time so hinted it up and soon had a the cache in hand. Very clever hence the fave. TFTC
Very interesting container! Log is a little rusty and is full. The hint also didn’t help me, I had to go back and read some activity logs. Coll find though!
I am embarassed to say this one took me quite some time!
Looked back in previous logs and changed where I was looking !
Wasn't expecting this!
Funny...all good...

Found it while on a bike ride. Man it got me as it’s the second time here trying to find it! The hint is bang on and I had a laugh once I had found it cause yip it’s right.
Oooooo this was a great one to start the day we were hunting all over the show and the hint provided no help. We were sprung by some muggle contractors whom we ended up explaining geocaching to....and that was so worth it as they joined in the hunt and before long the contractors had located it many thanks to them for shortening our search. Hand to the forehead when we figured the hint, very clever
Nice hint-cache connection. The kids found this one on their own, but weren’t confident they were right. We found it tricky to open the cache. The log is getting full and is a bit rusty and damp. TFTC
Cruising on CMV Columbus from UK and today a visit to the Bay of Plenty.
We were on a long walk from the city centre and then a DNF,

This proved tricky to find, mainly because there are so many options here - but we did get there eventually after reading the activity logs and getting some pointers from them. It turned out to be Mr L's eagle eyes that spotted it - to his immense relief. Thanks for the placement - much appreciated.
After "A tough day at the office" it was good to unwind and clear my head while doing this one.
The cache is in good condition.

The GPS was not happy and bounced around for a while. Once it had finally settled the cache was soon in hand. Liked the container but waterproof it ain't, the log was damp but signable. TFTC
Another mission to Tauranga and yet another mission at night. I think I found more caches recently at night here than during the day, any how much less traffic on the roads at night and way less muggles!!!
With all the publishing that has been going on around Tauranga these regular trips are certainly helping to keep the numbers in check.
We headed over from Hamilton about 5.30pm, in Mrwalkers (family) car as there were 6 of us on tonight's caching team (Kiwis69, 11HPG11, Kyb3r, Iammrwalker, Cats&Dragons and myself). We had a very successful trip with all caches attempted being found and managing to get home by 2am to get a few hours sleep before the weekend started. We sign the logs as HOAC to save space, a big thanks to the CO's for the placements/puzzles.
Lots of cars parked up here, but they didn't look like they were doing much. Took a small search at GZ to find the cache, nice container.

Another week has gone by since the last mission (up North that time) by this gaggle of cachers and tonight we have a trip (after a long week) over to Tauranga and surrounds to collect a few cache's. So the call went out and before I knew it we had a car full for our little night time excursion.
Consisting of HKCB, kiwis69, 11HPG11, iammrwalker & kyb3r we headed over with 11HPG11 squashed into the rear most seat, living in her own little world.
We signed all logs as "HOAC" to save space in the logbooks
So finally managed to head off from Hamilton at 6pm and even managed to be back at home by 2am which was not at all as bad as we had thought as several members of the party had full days planned for the remainder of the weekend. A big thanks has to go out to the puzzle solvers, the driver and of course the CO's for their efforts to provide us with an evening's entertainment.
We were of course wondering if we could get a close up photo with the police but not this week, (although saying that we did have plans that would have been most effective but it was proberbly just as well I got voted down on this ocassion).
We parked at the appropriate spot and were very surprised by the numbe of vehicles present and many of them all fogged up, thought that it must have been a spot for people to be walking thier dogs at night
Thanks for the placement, thanks for the cache

I found this cache along with Cats&Dragons, HKCB, Kiwi69, Kyb3r and 11hpg11. We decided to shoot over to Tauranga after work for a late night Geocaching adventure having spent the last couple of weeks solving a bunch of puzzles in the area. We left Hamilton at about 5:30pm and were back by 2am. I drove as we have a seven seater, although I suspect 11hpg11 would debate that given she was squished into the back. We signed the logs HOAC, to save on space. It was great fun to get the Hamilton gang together again, especially since Kyb3r is moving to Wellington. Thanks to all the CO’s for placing and maintaining all the caches we found.
Who new this area would be so popular late at night. The car park was nearly full, but everyone seemed pretty lost in their own little worlds and I doubt they could see us through the haze when we jumped out and headed to GZ. The hint made way more sense once we located the container.

Another Friday night, another road trip for some late night caching escapades. Tonight our crew consisted of Iammrwalker, Cats&dragons, HKCB, Kyb3r, Kiwis69 and myself. Logs were signed as HOAC to save room in the logs. We were very thankful for the use of Iammrwalkers family mobile to fit this many bodies in for a roadie. I got the short straw and had the seat in the very back, lucky I am short! A last minute trip meant some intense last minute puzzle solving to get all ready for the trip.
A lot of cars here tonight, I was a little worried but turns out everyone was busy doing their own thing. We all wandered off to GZ and started searching. Not coming up with anything, we started reading the logs and got a valuable hint. I spied something unusual and soon had the cache in hand. Nicely hidden.

On a night caching mission in the hope of making an indent in the recent prolific publication of caches around Tauranga and Papamoa. Our motley crew consisted of HKCB, 11HPG11, iammrwalker, C&D, kyb3r & myself, all jammed into one vehicle. Good job we know each other well! Headed away from Hamilton after everyone had finished work for a few hours of banter, dashing around with torches and hopefully finding a few boxes. Most logs were signed as "HOAC" to save space in the smaller logbooks.
Oh my goodness, the carpark here was interesting tonight. There was only one parking space left for us and all the other cars were occupied. My initial thought was we should turn around and make a sharp exit but, with safety in numbers, we parked up and off we went to GZ - quickly obvious that no-one was paying any attention to us. Nice quick find once we checked past logs and realised we didn't have to clear all the autumnal ground leaf cover away. Nice container. Now back to the carpark .... TFTC

Finally we have a weekend free to catch up with some caches close to home. Great to be out and about on a sunny autumn day. Took longer than it should have to locate TFTC.
A quick stop on our way into Tauranga for the weekend. The vegetation has had a good trim since we were here last and it was a lot easier to spot. Glad to turn the previous frown into a smiley. All good here, TFTC!
Took a while to spot it, but reaching it was harder. Was glad it wasn't GL though as it was covered in leaves, which is where I started.
couldn't help myself.was only going to do one cache tonight.
but as i was nearby thought i could find before getting to dark.
note a recent dnf than a find.got to be there.sure enough good look spotted
reached in and got it. SLTFTC

We had a PLD (Professional Learning and Development) course in Judea today, with FASD (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder) being the focus of the day. After several hours of sitting and battling to keep eyelids open, we really needed some fresh air...
This was the closest cache, and we were very apprehensive. The previous DNF did not bode well, and we wondered if it was worth the effort of driving in here. We followed the iPhone gps carefully. Despite its jumpiness, we came to a reasonable ground zone. After a couple of sweeps, we spotted something that was clearly out of place. The logbook required a performance to extract. We are relieved to have knocked this one off so quickly. TFTC.

Spent a good 10 mins looking for this one. No luck here unfortunately although the GPS placed us at a fairly good looking location. We navigated around a few times and even extended our gaze. Will have to come back another time unfortunately.
Had a cursory look for this cache a few days ago but the weather turned to crap & I didn't want to get drowned so aborted the exercise.Happened to be talking to a friend & made mention I couldn't get my head around the hint so she gave me a clue.Spent a lot of time looking this arvo with her hint in mind & was almost about to give up when I went for my last walk around & spotted it.Sounds presumptious but I wonder if it hasn't done a bit of a creep. Thanks Macwatt,i feel a tad guilty as I didn't make the cleanup.
Time for a couple of cache's before dropping the kids of at training. Very busy walkway but kids playing is good cover for an old man staring into a tree. Looking on wrong side of tree to start with but quick find once on the correct side.

Couldn't put off the temptation of this new cache any longer Took the short walk to the cache and stepped up on the wrong side. Tried again and twisted this way and that way and spotted the different sort of cache. TFTC
I quite enjoyed the CITO here - an area probably deserving of a cache too.
This one took a little bit of time to spot but the coords were spot on so I got there in the end.
A good use of recycled materials but I will note that the container isn't water tight.
Cheers Macwatt, TFTC.

After all the rain decided to go for this and get some fresh air. I spent a lot longer at Gz than was needed. Must have had BRAIN / RAIN FADE!!! Its funny how the light of day can blind your view sometimes, definitely needed to use the hint for this one. Thanks McWatt!!! FTF 10am.
Looked this morning with no luck and decided to leave it when it started throwing it down. Contacted the CO who threw me a massive hint but, even with that, took a good search to find the well-hidden cache. TFTC.
