Day twenty of our epic New Zealand Adventure with The Morris.Staying in Queenstown, with a better weather forecast we took the bike ride, and was ferried up to Arrowtown. A great ride back down, and just a few caches done.Took a bit longer than we thought, but got there eventually. Thanks, Robmc.
Day 20 of our Enzed adventures with Robmc and today we hired e-bikes and rode from Arrowtown to Queenstown in beautiful sunshine still fairly chilly though. The scenery was amazing and the locals were all really friendly. The fellas went out for some groceries and came back with a couple of caches. They found this one nearer to metal post behind corrugated iron. Thanks for contributing to our amazing holiday
I am on holiday visiting. It is a wet day. Both local ski mountains have just closed, the Shotover Jet and Dart River jet are closed. The view from our lakeside room is just lake and cloud. Time to go Geocaching. This one took me longer to find than it should. I must be out of practice. As ever, where once fence ends another starts - sort of a metaphor for life generally. TFTC
We are down in Queenstown for a couple range showings. One happened to be nearby and on the way to where we were staying for the night we made a wee detour to see if we could find it. After a bit of searching around I came across the hide. Glad to have made a find after the DNFs logged! Thanks for placing KiwiAoraki. Our first find in Queenstown!
DNF... Looks like the Ivy have been cut off and removed... No traces of the cache.....
This was a frustrating one. Climbed up the hill to GZ and started looking. After searching, it was very unclear if the cache had been moved somewhere else or if the cache was in the ivy at GZ. Thanks anyway
26/4/24First cache in NZ on holiday from Australia. Quick find at GZ with help from hint.Logbook is full but managed to squeeze in signature as FTG.TFTC from FTG!

I am with Muggle on a three and half week trip to NZ. Nothing serious, just the well trodden track every NZ tourist does who is coming from the other side of the world and has not the chance to come here more often. North Island is done, Auckland Coromandel, Rotorua and Wellington touched. Even the South Island is almost done. We arrived in Queenstown yesterday after Motueka, Punakaiki and FJ. Only more stop in Te Anau. But before that we enjoy three nights in this place who has everything to comb the money out of your pocket. Muggle was still sleeping while I indulged myself in the best and cheapest occupation ever. After finding the link between the two streets the box was located without any further complication. The COs were apparently too good Thx for hiding.
Found the geocache, after a couple minutes of picking my own crevices I found it in another one.
Found!! No ivy, cache dry, log full. Quite a hike up the hills, many hills. TFTC.
My first cache in New Zealand To all the following geocachers: There's no ivy anymore.
Day 3: QueenstownThe agenda for today for to fly down from Auckland to Queenstown, and cache around the area before heading off to the next stop. This is my second time in Queenstown, and this time, I wanted to visit (and revisit) some of the nicer places in the region, and pick up the new ALs that have sprung up. The weather was pretty good for the most parts, which was a welcome change from Auckland, so things went smoothly despite an early hiccup with the rental car at the airport.(End of the cut and paste bit)Heres the specific log for this cache:The road closures meant that we had to go the long way around to get to the cache. But, we got some good views out of it. I searched the wrong patch of ivy at the GZ, but after getting down and dirty for no reason - I changed tack and found the cache. The ivy has all died there, but the cache is still covered. TFTC!

Very misleading hint but overall a fun cache I would reccomend not listening to the ivy part but fun. TFTC
Lots of work to get here with the geography and the construction. As noted by others, the cache is not in ivy and is pretty conventional for the location. If you hurry there might still be some pears in the tree overhanging the trail.
After buying some stuffs from town, decided to walk to this one. Dinner is burned off lol. Anyways, I had to look behind every other ivy to just read one of the previous logs saying there is no ivy where the cache is. Voila!! Cache in hand. Log is pretty full so had to write somwhere I found place. TFTC.
Out and about enjoying the hidden gems of our country.
Out enjoying a beautiful sunny Easter weekend. Neither MrF nor I have work for next 4 days.
Was a bit of a mission to get to this spot but a lovely view and beautiful homes in the area
The log needs to be replaced. I didn't have any that fitted.

Trouvée Easy one if you don’t loose your time looking behind every ivy, as there is no ivy where the cache is ^^
We did really nice walk with Marylou. It took us some time to find it but eventually her dedication was bigger than my lameness. And she found it. And we celebrate. Yay.
A very scenic little shortcut
Second cache my partner has been on and she’s got a keen eye

TFTC searched for a long time in the wrong side with lots of ivy nearly gave up but turned around and found the cache. Please can KiwiAoraki please update the fact that the ivy is long gone, thanks.
Also, there is 10 cents for the next finder and the traceable is no longer there
TFTC searched for ages on the wrong side. Ivy long gone right near pinpoint, left 10 cents.
Found by phone torchlight after widening our search, and after a puff up the hill, with MacBayMeri. TFTC.
Easy find after climbing up a steep hill from our hotel. No tb in this as listed Tftc
Had an unexpected overnight trip to Queenstown to take daughter-in-law and grandchildren to their flight. Once everyone was settled for the night before flight, I looked at my map and saw that this cache was just a short walk from where we were staying, so MrMagoo72 and I headed out into the night in search. Although we lived not too far from here for many years, neither of us knew of this shortcut. Headed in through but inexplicably I decided to search the wrong side. Eventually stood back and decided to try something else and there is was. TFTC.
Last cache for the day. A wee grunt up from our accommodation. The logbook is now full. Thanks for helping me work off the fish and chips!

I am helping out my kids who are doing the Routeburn Track. So I am caching when I can from Christchurch to Queenstown to Glenorchy to Te Anau and then back to Christchurch.
We've had our dinner and went for a stroll afterwards.

An easy find for Mr Bb caching solo this morning, on his way up to Queenstown Hill.
The vil has been cut back so the hide is rather exposed but only obvious to a cacher
Signed the log and carefully replaced the cache as found.

Made a slight detour coming down the hill over to this little shortcut.
Initially overshot the mark and rummaged around in the ivy a while, then stepped back and recalled something i'd noticed nearby. Had a look and what do you know, a geocache!
Must a had my geoglasses on to spot the likely hide juust before arriving to play with the ivy.
Thanks KiwiAoraki for showing me this little laneway with a geocache.

So great for a tourist to discover small shortcuts like this one. The cache was not really hidden so I moved the rock a bit to make it less obvious.
Also it shows 2 TBs but only one was inside. I took it although I would have preferred the other one :p

Easy. Opposite hint TFTC from Canada Dwamisie. Left some jewels and a couple of TBs.
In Queenstown for a wedding. I ditched muggle husband (no enthusiasm for geocaching), walked up the hill and found the general area.
Hint no longer applies but I found thanks to reading a couple of previous logs.

On my last day in Queenstown, I decided to pick up one last cache before I left. After a steep uphill climb, I made the quick find. Thanks! Some nice views from here.
What a steep parking spot. I hope my handbrake holds. H zoned in for a quick find. Thanks
A nice quick find. Ivy is long gone on this side of the path but a geocaching eye should spot a regularly used camo item. TFTC.
This was outside our accommodation. Seemed rude not to find it. Couldn't find it first but reading the logs it was soon found.
