BlacknWhite suggested we do this power trail. We were going to try on push bikes, but my daughter and her partner laughed and said to take the E bike to lessen the chance of a heart attack. Heathcote Rd is far to dangerous for bike riders so I had to put up with the leg cramps from just walking to caches after driving along the trail. 11th find. 13 was certainly unlucky for this one, some mint tins are missing and it has been ravaged by fire and flood. Too wet to sign see pic.Had a great day.TFTC GeodudeAU
OCW [Platyfly,](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=80a2adae-e405-45f3-8f78-92cf1a588444) and our eleventh find for the day.As mentioned by previous finders we found the cache but were unable to sign the log due to it's current condition (see attached pic)Many thanks for the cache and the adventure GeodudeAU
Reperio 13:01I was headed to Sydney this evening for a 2 day course, and so it gave me a great opportunity to find a few caches along the way. I took in the little detour to do this series, and for the most part of it, all the caches were found, although most had wither wet logs, or needed maintenance in some way. With the series being situated along a busy road with not a lot of room to park in most places, the process was a lot slower than expected. All in all though, a good day was had.Cache cant be opened as its rusted shut.Gratias GeodudeAUAs a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
Found the cache but unable to sign due to being by rust shut and honestly not sure if my tetanus is up to date TFTC!
Nakonec se zadarilo i spravnou krabicku najit a otevrit. Vse je dost zrezle.Vse o cele serii u kesky GC6XTEF. spreeuv & kecaps from Czech republic, Europe. Děkuji za kešku, TFTC! 11:51 hod.
Easy find, make sure your tetnus shot is up to date, some are getting rusty and sharp.
First find of the morning - outer container previously melted in fires, inner contents wet and rusty sadly, but appreciate the idea none the less - TFTC
Out doing this power trail with VicRoadnight and MinimumChips, friends from work. I had met MinimumChips years ago, and we had been geocaching together in WA last year. Then I met VicRoadnight over dinner a few weeks ago when I asked if anyone wanted to go out to see the full/super/blood moon/lunar eclipse. We had a great day out together! Finally sitting down to log these caches in August as I travel around the country...
Dan decided to cycle Heathcote Road to do these caches. He thought that it would be a bit easier than trying to park on this narrow and very busy road. Found the container fairly quickly. Took a bit longer to SL. The outer container looks like it has partially melted away. Some other parts were quite rusty and hard to open. TFTC GeodudeAU
Another quick one. Sorry for the short logs but I’m trying to get all 40 done. TFTC.
POWER TRAIL DAY! Flying solo while gremlindaddy takes gremlinkids to gymnastics and their dance lessons. Container is damaged (melted) and can't open lid to retrieve log. Needs maintenance.
Thanks for bringing us to this location and Thanks for the hunt *GeodudeAU*.
Finally back to make the final find on this cache that I didn't have time to find last time I was here. With the Treasures up for grabs and I've not yet had an opportunity to get out and raid the countryside today was set aside. I had planned to grab some closer to home but then realised I had not completed this *Sutherland Shire FTF Hounds* series from my last trip. Wow I cannot believe it has been exactly 2 years since the fires and when I was first here (13 Sept 2018). I really wish I had come back sooner when the area was all burnt out. The caches were so much easier to find and the terrain was brilliant to walk on, no bush bashing like now - incredible difference. My phone gps couldn't decide whether I was 2 metres or 7 metres from the cache. I found it a tad challenging finding the caches but persisted, although I did find a couple of them quite easily much to my relief. We signed the log in either our names or our initials in some switcheroo form of LP, DJJ, ToC and then returned cache to its hide'y hole exactly as found. OCW *Little Panther* and *DustyJapserJet*.

Out for a geocaching trail on a stunning Saturday. No 13 down. Love this idea. Pray for our safety with sat morning traffic!
Log super damp. But love the 13 items
Log super damp. But love the 13 items
The container is in a bit of a state, looks like it got a bit too close to the fire
Found on a perfect Winter day for a drive down to the Gong and surrounds.
Met up with fitzy65 and minniek for a fun day out and a big caching adventure.
A few good safe hides and not many muggles around.
Cache condition is poor, it has been badly burnt in the fires.
Thanks for the cache GeodudeAU,

Headed out for a days caching with fitzy_1965 and Roostaman.
Quick find here today but unfortunately the cache container is damaged....luck was on our side as we found the log in the first place we looked.....parking was a bit precarious though.

20,886. Found during a caching loop from Moss Vale, Wollongong and up to the Sutherland Shire with minniek and our caching Mate from Wagga - Roostaman !!
I mentioned to Roostaman - who was in Moss Vale for a few days caching - that we were heading down Wollongong way for a few specific caches, and we decided to team up again for what turned out to be a pretty epic day. Heading up the highway now and we started the SSFTFH Power Trail. The traffic was picking up now and parking was 'fun' ! Quick find at GZ. Container needs some TLC.

I have been spying this power trail for a while. Today was much cooler than it has been so I decided to take the opportunity to get as much of it done as possible. I got a good start today but after being covered in spider webs I called it a day. I’ll finish it off another day.
This container is melted which made it a little hard to get the log in and out but I did enjoy this one. TFTC.

Well after a day at a conference today was my free day to grab a few caches around the Sydney area. My first target was the Sunderland ftf trail and after that the plan was to go through the suburbs grabbing a few caches on the way back to the hotel. Ended up with 73 for the day plus a few dnfs, which is hard work on your own.
Tftc and making my day so enjoyable.
The caches on the Sunderland ftf trail were brilliant. So much work into making some of them.

Only eleven in this melted cache but we still appreciated the idea here! TFTC
These damn pesky things!!!!! @ short but melted container has seen better days !! tftc
Cool idea and game , the game was made harder my the lid being melted on but was still fun container might need replacing soon as it’s starting to crack tftc
Container is in really bad shape! Great concept though. Co ords on point! Tnsl TFTC GeodudeAU xo
I had a pretty good idea of what I was going to be in for here. This cache has had a very lucky escape from the heat or fire at some point so the hardest thing is fitting everything back together into its misshapened form. I got lucky with number 3! TFTC # 14,185
I decided to take myself on a little drive along this road studded with caches - I could not believe how busy it was, I had to be very careful pulling off the road and back into traffic. Great set of hides. TFTC!!
This was the last day of our current geocaching holiday in Australia, and so we couldn't resist the opportunity to make the most of the last few hours we had before heading off to the airport to fly back home to search for the first 26 caches in this series. It was a crazy road to cache on with the traffic being so busy and fast, and so with the close spacing of the caches it really felt like playing dodgems as well as geocaching! The main container had melted in a recent fire but the contents were all in perfect condition and still accessible. It didn't take too long before we found the log book which we signed before replacing all as found. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe
Tackled the 'Sutherland Shire FTF Hounds' powertrail today.
Pros:
Variety (users and containers)
Coordinates (pretty accurate)
Great to see the regeneration here after the fires!
Cons:
Dangerous road (100km/h, high traffic area, limited shoulder space)
Pollution (rubbish and car parts)
We were stopped by the Australian Federal Police, but after explaining what Geocaching is, they let us go on to continue the rest of the trail.
Thanks!

Trip away with woolwood9 and slowly heading to the Clear Waters MEGA.
Stamped logs as TM/WW NZ.
Another nice find for us today, thanks for putting this cache out.
Really felt unsafe in places on this trail - the traffic was crazy!!

Browsed this power-trail and impressively, it has tripled in size since my last visit about a year ago! So brought my cross-bike down to wittle a few more away.
Due to muggle activities (#15) and placements on different sides of Heathcote road, I eventually visited in the order: 13, 14, 16, 22 to 31, then 21 back down to 17 and 15.
Thanks to all the CO's who have contributed to this collaborative power-trail.
Clearly, the geocaching community is alive and active in the Sutherland Shire.

As mentioned in the previous log, the outer container has experienced a 'melting moment' and is no longer water tight. As a result, all the internal logs and faux-logs are soaked.
But happily, I found the real log on the 3rd attempt.
TFTC GeodudeAU!

Find No.4040 with sesblocker.
Yes, the heat impact of a bushfire is obvious on the outer container.
The air temperature is brutal here now. We were initially a bit distracted by the choices of hidey holes near GZ.

With 30 in the FTF series, it was time to give this trail a crack. I had Team MavEtJu with me to lend another pair of eyes and hands and we made it from 30 to 1 in 3hr 15min. There were a few uncomfortably-close-to-speeding-traffic moments which does detract from the journey but it’s not really a park and grab scenario either.
Although it’s not how it started out, this has turned into a Dali interpretation of a cache. Kinda cool to have it this way as a reminder of the power of bushfires.
Thanks GeodudeAU for being a FTF hound and participating in the series.

the lid of the poor cache has been melted from the bushfires but actually looks quite artistic in that Salvador Dali kind of way! It makes getting in to the cache itself difficult but nevertheless still possible. I loved the idea of this cache so it's a favourite point from me. SL TFTC
13/09/2018 -- NOT a DNF more like a NA (Not Attempted) -- As Arnie says "I'll be back."
Didn't have time to find this one today.
**The Day**
Woke up this morning bright and early and wondered what to do today - ah yes, I'll go geocaching, and why not visit a trackables hotel and run the **Sutherland Shire FTF Hound(s) Track**, so I bounced out of bed and looked at the sky, very foggy and overcast looking, but I heard the sun was going to shine, and shine it did.
Gorgeous day and quite warm while on the trail. Had four left to find, and desperately wanted to knock them off, but I know there will be more caches coming out and after missing this find I figured the remainder didn't matter next time will do. Had to cut the day short anyway and urgently get home.
27 = 22 1 4 [8)] not attempted.

Found, in a sad state.
Found two containers with logs within. Looks like someone added an improvised log sometime. I signed both, but only with symbols on one.

Seeing that it has been found recently, I thought it may have been rescued from its melted state when I was last here, but The Booos log said not. I thought I would come and claim the find despite the entombed state of the cache. It has bee pried open and the container with log was accessible. Still requires some maintenance.
Find number 4177.
The Booos are our enjoying the day and picking up some quick caches.
The cache is in a poor way. The container is melted and the log is wet.
Thanks GeodudeAU for placing this cache.

As I edge my way closer to a milestone, I decided to head up here today with my bike to ride this series. I was pleasantly surprised to knock it over in just over an hour.
Cheers

Something stinks along here. The fire has melted the outside container so it’s no longer waterproof - the log is soaked. Another piece of paper was utilised for signing purposes.
Poor cache. I liked the concept (hahaha) but I think it now belongs in the Museum of Contemporary Art.
Tackled the Power Trail on a sunny Winter afternoon. Managed to grab all 23 posted to date. Thanks.
Looks like the only cache in the series that hasn't been reviewed by the CO for damage due to the fires back in April.
Needs to be replaced please.

Great to see that the cache is still able to be found and the log signed.
I'll get around to fixing it up....

TFTC,
The container has melted. Photo will be added from my phone with a NM log.
I used brute force to extract the smaller units to find the one with a saturated log.
Added a dry log sheet but wasn't able to return the last 2 units. They are sitting on top.
Visited trackables.

Needs maintenance, found container melted, hard to get the containers out. Found the correct one. Signed log and replaced. Thanks to GeodudeAU.
Found the cache today in a melted state. I couldn't the lid open enough to get to the contents in order to figure where the log was. TFTC. I'll be back, as John Lennon once sang.
Found during the Geocaching Australia GeoSportz2018 game.
STRIKE! Find 10 or more geocaches in a day.
Thanks to exactly ten new caches on the FTF hounds trail I classify for this! TFTC!

I've attempted this one today with the car
It was quite hard stopping along this narrow road, there seemed to be nowhere being able to stop safely
A CITO cache event would have been appropriate here, there is so much rubbish everywhere here
Thank you

I had a big day of caching plan up north at the mysteries for the OZ GEOMUSTER but it was going to be far to hot and I wake up exhausted from hard week at work so I took off south from home. I started with some on the Alford Point bridge and have worked my way around to here number 1 on the power trail. I'm after numbers because I want my 2000th find to be the muster at Easter. TFTC
I just loved all these caches they were different and interesting to find thanks to all the wonderful Cachers who have placed them. One thing I hate this type of environment and on a hot day I was even more scared. But all was good.
Fav Point from me. Tricky.

Out caching with WaywardWoman for the day. At GZ we shared the looking and soon had cache in hand. Signed log and returned as found. TFTC
#4495- Out caching the trail with thomo31 this morning. When we made it to this cache I really wondered, am I blue today, a little green with envy or slightly sunburnt pink? I guess you'll have to see what you think.... Glad there weren't more...Thanks
OCW Rodney1210. Wow! The first I noticed was the smell. 13 times means it was quite strong! I admit, the red herring fooled me. I went for it thinking it might be the ironic red herring twist but no... Got it on the 11th go. Why stop there? I opened the other two just because! The cache guardian is somewhat dead. Hopefully it still does it’s job! Thoroughly enjoyed this one! TFTC!
OCW Coastblue. Finally getting to do this Powertrail that I’ve heard so much about. We’ve found some great containers in this trail, but this would have to be the best (so far) fell for the decoy but eventually retrieved the log. Cache# 753 TFTC
Streak Day #1695 - Out here nabbing some caches towards getting to the 5000 milestone for the OZ geomuster this year. Cache was a quick find. TFTC
