Day 8 - Labour weekend extended road trip with Kiwicampnut - relocated to stay south of the ditch.
There has been significant damage here, looks like the side of the viewpoint is gone, taking any sign that we're here with it. Though I had a picture, but it ended up being of the netting without a reference point.

On a trip with Ruru_NZ to gather the tour caches needed or in my case not done yet. Should be able to knock them off on this trip.

Day 9 of three weeks winter motorhoming in the upper half of the South Island. Travelled from Reefton to Westport today. Picked up a few caches along the way, then more on the Cape Foulwind walkway in the afternoon. This one was a reasonably quick find. Nifty hide! #4100. TFTC.
After a week in Blenheim playing indoor bowls 2 muggles and I spent an extra week enjoying some of the sights. They allowed and assisted me find some caches in the areas we visited. Heading to Westport so stopped for a photo shoot. I was able to grab the cache [eventually] before continuing. Thank you for the placement.
Old Ghost Road done...boots off...change of clothes...time to head home picking off some Park and Grabs on the way.
I've done my 'do' for the past couple of days.
A nice wee hide.

Havent seen one like this before. A campervan at sign but the driver had wandered off to look at the river. TFTC
On a trip hunting out PWGT caches, and picking up others on the way past. This is one of the, and of course we stopped for the photos too. Tftc
Continuing on our PWGT journey visiting the top of the Mainland this weekend. Great clue for the hide and photo opportunity TFTC.
Heading down the Buller to the West Coast today. I enjoyed the drive, the scenery, and the stops along the way. TFTC
Wow, what a difference in this place after a bit of rain! Thanks for the photos.
We got here with it in its low level state, and pulled into the parking by the info board. There was a family here, and they took A LOT of photos. Ok, they will move on soon. Nope, they then asked us to take photos of them. Ok, it took longer than we expected, but the disappointing thing here is the board was defaced. Thankfully, I think the paint can be removed easily. I could scratch it off the glass with my finger.
A nice hide so worthy of a fave. Also, while logging these in order, this is the one that brings up my 5000th find. A good cache and nice spot. TFTC gkmlb.
Driving home from Little Wanganui to Brightwater, then on to Blenheim. I had a pass from RG1972 to fill my boots on any caches I wanted, so I made a loose hitlist and we worked through them until I got either too bored, too tired, or more likely, too wet. It started off torrential but surprisingly eased later in the day. In fact we enjoyed some good sunny periods despite the forecast looking dodgy in all places we visited. And a good number of caches - ones that I have ignored on previous drive-bys. Nice to knock some of these off. All logs signed ricnz if not enough space. Thanks all for the caches.

Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I are on a bit of a Christmas Roadtrip from Auckland to Ingill & back ... we'll be doing a few geocaches on our travels ... this being the 137th cache of hopefully many ... we had been spent Christmas in Invercargill & were now heading back to Auckland, taking the scenic route ... we were now heading North, doing caches as we go ... driving up through the Buller Gorge, stopped here for an easy park & grab ... just had to avoid the 'muggles' ... clever hide, gets a favourite from us ... good to add another 'smiley face' to the tally ... TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #1,871 for us.
Pulled in here to check out the view and noticed a cache here which was a bonus. Watched a nearby muggle launch a drone and then promptly lost it somewhere over the Buller River, oops! Tftc, great spot
The friendly weka nearly made off with my dropped hat. Some muggles arrived as retrieved cache. Could subtly sign log but waited till they departed before replacing. Tftc
Neat hide!
Quick find, thanks to the clear hint.
Off to Karamea for a few days exploring, this was a pleasantly scenic lunch spot to stop for my pre-packaged lunch

*Thanks for putting out this cache for woolwood9 and I to find!*
SL **tm/ww NZ** (may just be a black smudge on the many wet or plastic logs)
Weather was quite bad again with lots of rain
*We soon had another good cache located, great place to stop!*

When I travelled from Murchison to Westport this morning I noticed all these caches on the side of the road but the parking areas were too small for the cachemobile and the snail shell so I just had to come back just about as far as Inangahua.
Cheers for the cache.

What a cool spot! I was not going to stop any more on the way back, but after passing the overhang I wanted to take a photo, and there was a cache! TFTC!!!!
Finally a chance to log this one, have been past here many times but the viewpoint always heaving with tourists taking selfies or heavy rain acts as a deterrent to leaving my warm dry vehicle and fossicking around. Today a fine day and not a tourist in sight- yay!soon had cache in hand and back on my merry way to Westport
Day 16 of our Sth Island (substitute for Seattle) trip. Today it's Greymouth/Westport/Blenheim. Again the weather was great. Many caches through here and chose a few at random to collect. A nice hide. Thanks.
Log was full so I added a new sheet.

This cache was today's first found on our way to Kaikoura via Lewis Pass. We liked the views over Buller river and its special one lane roads.
Nice tricky hide, we had fun finding this cache.
Thank you for the cache!

Today I started my way in Berlins, went west to the West Coast, south till Greymouth and North again till Reefton. On my way I found a lot of caches, most in good conditions. This was my first today and a really nice one, worth a FP. TFTC
**Found on our February - March tour around the South Island. Logging back home in Auckland in Lockdown isolation**
Yesterday we drove up the coast from Greymouth to Westport, and today we are travelling back via the inland route.
The title of this one was apt for us. The parking area was empty when we parked, but then a minibus arrived full of tourists who congregated around the sign while the tour leader gave them a talk about all the places they would be visiting. What to do? Nothing for it but to out wait them, taking photos and doing a bit of surreptitious searching while we waited. Eventually they began to move away, and we took our place in front of the sign to make a sneaky grab. Loved this one, so adding a Favourite point. Great views from here. The pic of the river after rain is astounding! TFTC

We had a very nice holiday in New Zealand. Almost every day beautiful weather. We traveled with the camper home from the north to the south island. we have found a lot of very nice caches. Thanks for showing the nice places where we found the caches.

We started in Nelson today and our daily goal was Greymouth.
On the way I had the possibility to look for some caches during a hike and the coffee stops.
This belonged to it and I could register myself in the LB.
Thank you says Pöni.

Miraculously an empty parking area gained a large camper and the occupants headed straight to GZ! I think we were discreet in extracting and replacing the cache! Our first of the day on the journey to Nelson. Then it turned out two of them were also geocaching!TFTC
Great hide in a great place! We're driving today from Westport over to Takaka, so are being selective about not stopping for every cache we pass. The most tricky thing here is waiting for a muggle-free opportunity to put the blighter back!!
Fantastic cache to find. Will be a favourite from us.
Was rather stressful getting the cache back in position as a constant stream of muggles for next 20mins. Wondered if they would ever stop pulling in!! At least we had a great view while waiting. TFTC

Berrydehamster and me are travelling in New Zealand for three weeks. We cross the country from north to south and back again by campervan, see a lot, do a lot, visit lots of places and meet a lot of people. It’s nice to be here and we have a great time.
As both of us are geocachers, we find a lot of caches on our travels. This is one of the caches we found. Thanks for your cache, gkmlb, that helped give us a wonderful time here.

NBokkie and I are going on holiday to New Zealand for 3 weeks. In Auckland we rent a camper. We start on the North island and driving to the south to make the crossing to the South island. Here we make a round and then take the boat back to the North Island. A long trip, but a very beautiful one! We do and see a lot on our way............
In addition to being a tourist, we are also going to cache along the way. The virtuals and earth caches are often on tourism places. If we have a long day of traveling, we stop for some caches.
It were been great weeks!
Nice hiden!

Yay. Just noticed I forgot to log this last week. Great to finally have a smiley face here as it’s been a while since work has taken me through here. River very high and muddy. Road works and a temporary stop sign meant I had to wait until traffic moved on before I could retrieve and return cache. TFTC
Found as a part of a previous group TanjackMüley, now WanderingSparrow. Now I'm continuing on my own. TFTC
Didn’t have signal at gz so used our senses to make a quick find while mugglers were muggling. Well made fp from us thanks!
Paddle chick assumed she knew where it was because she was ftf . with the barrier not there she drove the car close to the sign and climbed on to the bonnet only to find it not there . We were close enough and I could reach out the car window to get it .True drive thru cache Thanks gkmlb
We tried retrieving this cache quite a while back but there were just too many muggles around to grab it. Today we had no issues as with a bit of strategic parking of the caravan no-one could see what we were doing. tftc

Didn't really need to do as much reading as I did because of course I had my own agenda of things to do but I had to wait ages for the coast to be clear. A nice quick find but then I had to go back to the car for tweezers to extract the cache. I was quite relieved no other car pulled in while I was doing that. Very good hide here - worth a favourite. For our NZ visit we created a "wishful-thinking-to-do-list" ... knowing we can not do them all but we can at least try. Old caches, earth, virtual and webcam are on the top of our list... but also some traditionals, multi etc...
Today on our way to Harihari and decided to stop for some caches along the road as we calculated that we should not have much time left considering the travel distance for today...
This was one of the selected caches and an easy find but needed tweezers to get to the cache as it was rather stuc...

We pulled over in our motor home along with several other tourists. We could see that it might take a while before gz was clear enough to retrieve the cache so decided to have lunch. Just as well as two couples tried to plan their next few days while consulting the sign. Finally it was clear and macwatt spotted the very clever hide. The cache had only just been replaced when a tourist bus pulled in. Whew! Thanks for the cool hide gkmlb.

During our holiday in New Zealand we have visited both the North and the South Island. We saw a lot of highlights of this beautiful country, but there is so much more to see. So many highlights, so many caches! The geocaches showed us a lot of special and interesting places. Sometimes a quick find, sometimes we had to search longer. A few DNF's, but that doesn't matter. We loved New Zealand and we hope to come back some day!
Today we have found the cache "What to do?".

On our way to Able Tasman, we stopped here for the view. The car park was full so discretely had a look and failed. Then Mrs S made the find and I extracted it. Neat hide, FP awarded. Tftc.
The highlight of today were the Pancake Rocks. We found one cache there and also a foto trap. First we thought that this might be the cache - maybe now they have some nice pictures with a very rare species - the geocacherensis germanicus. We drove along the coast and had a lot of stops - some with caches and a find, some without cache or an DNF. The coast is really beautiful and at the bay with the penguin project we thought about staying here the rest of our holidays. After leaving the coast we followed the Buller River - again awesome. We remember Glenhope, a nice café at Murchison and a lot of fruit sellers along the road. Our stage ended at Motueka where we tried to do a mystery but failed at the final. A lot of muggles and a tricky hide but finally we did it.

We pulled up here 2 days ago as we headed to Westport. We had thought we would leave this until the return trip but the access was too good to not take advantage of. However, with people very close to where we decided the cache was we could not complete the find. Today the area cleared just as we arrived and we had time for a leisurely find, sign and return. It is a popular spot though as the next car was stopping ad we left.
Thanks.
Thanks.
#3879 Great hiding, nice board! Thanks for the cache, greetings from Czech Republic.
On our journey from Nelson to Greymouth we only had time to do a few caches, to mark our route. We had stopped here to admire the view and although there were lots of people about it was easy to retrieve the cache sign and replace as it was so cleverly hidden. TFTC and a FP

We found the cache "What to do?" during our road trip through New Zealand. We started in December 2018 at Auckland and we'll travel with our campervan to the very south. The landscape and nature is overwhelming . It's always a lot of fun and a great adventure to go for this hobby in our vacation too . Thanks to the Owner "gkmlb" who placed the cache and his maintenance in the future!!!
At this place of the log, I would like to put all the best regards from Aalen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany in this cache as well [^].

First one of the day on a nice day down the coast. Quick find even with muggles about
