On a road trip to attend Capital Geobash Mega and see many different sights along the way. Today we have ventured to some amazing spots through geocaching. Love it! Heading into Jindabyne we ventured through some amazing views, narrow roads, and great sites. An easy find here. Part of the lid is broken and fragile. Thanks lmohalloran for creating for us all to enjoy. Picked up some TBs. ...................................................Are you ready to nominate in the **2023 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards**? Nominations will open early 2024.
Found by The Empire + HLeaving Thredbo behind, the road traced the contours of the Snowy Mountains, revealing mist-covered valleys and lush greenery. The rain, persistent in its embrace, had transformed the landscape into a canvas of vibrant hues, accentuating the verdant beauty of the Australian alpine region. As we navigated the serpentine curves of Barry Way, the rain-drenched eucalyptus trees stood tall, their leaves shimmering with droplets reflecting the diffused light. The road, glistening with moisture, hinted at the recent downpours that had graced this picturesque corridor. The track from Jindabyne to the Victorian border, tracing the contours of the Snowy River, revealed itself as an adventure within the greater journey. The recent wet weather had taken a toll on the road, transforming it into a challenging path marked by rugged terrain and, notably, large potholes. Each dip and rise in the landscape became an unexpected twist in our road trip tale.Navigating this rough stretch demanded a balance of caution and resilience. The car's tires found their way through the maze of potholes, and the occasional jostle became a reminder that the road, like nature itself, had its own untamed rhythm. It was a stretch that required a slower pace, allowing us to appreciate the untouched landscapes flanking the Snowy River. Thanks for the cache lmohalloran.-M
Nice, quick easy, find found a couple of trackable’s, which are still there. Grab the trackable Codes container all in good condition.
Found this cache on our East Coast Trip Day 9 in company of Bazzars. Surprisingly, this was the first cache since heading down Barry Way and technically, it wasn't actually on it, having changed to Snowy River Road at the border. Caching partner Barry, was disappointed that there were no signs actually saying Barry Way down the whole length that he could pose for a selfie next to. I would be interested how many different road crossings I have made between Vic and NSW. This was a new one. I have made a lot but there are probably still lots to go. Thanks from D B-A
We found this cache while on a road trip to Tasmania and our route was taking in this scenic part of the country.
The drive along the road to here has been wonderful, some of the views are spectacular.
Learning about the history of the road and how it was made was also pretty cool.

As part of our VIC HIGH COUNTRY 4x4 Adventure we grabbed this cache, we sort of had to so we could say we went to NSW.

About to enter Kosciusko National Park from Victoria. After ticking seeing wild brumbies off my list last night, this is next on my list. New place, New adventures. Nice easy find which is what I like
*Found on the 3 Jan 2022 @ 5:33 pm.*
*Cache find # 12240.*
Today I headed off on a two day trip wayout East as I was needing two more maps for the UBD map challenge but along the way I stopped of at a few other caches of interest.
I was now making my way from Buchan to McKillops bridge but this cache had my interest and on the map it just looked like a simple detour so at the turn off I decided to make the trip to this one.
Well if I had of known maybe I wouldn’t have but it was a very interesting drive, I soon realised that I was now on a 84 kilometre side trip which wasn’t too bad and the Road at the start was very good but then it turned into a goat track and I was very much hopping that I didn’t meet anyone coming the other way, lucky for me I didn’t.
I was 10 to 15 km’s out from the cache when the rain started to come down and it was certainly coming down at times making the road very sloshy, I eventually made it to the border, found the cache very quickly which was good as it was still raining, a couple of photos where taken as I got ready for the return trip.
**Thanks to lmohalloran for placing this cache.**

Thankfully a quick find as a bunch of wankers catering for small penises turned and just acted like fuck wits. Including o d driving into the back of one as they tried to pull back on the road. Other then that lovely area. Historical value so will award a favourite. Tftc tnln
Found but forgot to Log.
Armed with mask and sanitizer, Found it on 17/11/2020 back when couldn’t cross into NSW from Victoria. Did a mid week 4WD trip with a muggle - he knows what they’re about now. We’ve also done a lot of “the outback corners” together so an interesting border like this was a must visit.
Thanks for bringing me here.
Camped nearby at Willis Campground.
TFTC, took nothing, left nothing.
Cheers,
HEYVJ

Our 2nd trip down here from Jindabyne to Buchan. The previous one was pre-geocaching 12 years ago. Still a fantastic scenic drive and well worth the trip. After grabbing the cache here we had some lunch in the nearby picnic area. TFTC.
Found on the way from Buchan to Jindabyne, with some stops and detours on the way and doding the bushfires, lucky I made it through.

Found with Justjessie on the way to spend Christmas with family in Gippsland. Love this area.. TFTC
Nice easy find. We decided to come this way today rather than down the Monaro as we usually do to Bairnsdale as we weren't in a hurry. TfTC
It was a slow crawl down to here from Jindabyne with the camper in tow as most of the road was rutted and in poor condition although the upper reaches, north of Wallace Grange Lookout, were in the process of being graded. Fortunately we didn't meet many vehicles coming towards us and those that did were smallish so we were able to squeeze past without needing to shunt them over the side!
Anyway after something like two-and-a-half hours of a slow descent to the Snowy River valley the break here was a welcome relief that allowed us to stretch our legs - and find a cache of course! We had been carrying around a TB ("Isabottom" TB) for a while now and thought it would be a good idea to leave it here for someone else to hopefully move on edging ever closer to it's desired target (Uluru / Ayres Rock).

(I'll add this my my favourites because, well because it's here!)

cestou jsme ale viděli asi 15 klokanů, to je skvělé

We wandered down the Barry Way with a view to camping along the Snowy River. In only a little Yaris hatchback with a new bike rack and two bikes on the back the drive in became increasingly stressful as the rack failed and the bikes dangled onto the road. Numerous stops for readjustment eventually got us to Willis Campground where I could finally unload the car and get to the tool I needed in the spare tyre compartment. We headed down for a swim and discovered the cache exactly where expected. Didn’t even need to fish out the GPS. At a survey techie, I was very interested in the history as well as spotting the Surveying markers on both the NSW and Victorian sides of the border including an old shield marking in a dead gum tree.
Thanks for bring us here.
P.S. the drive out with an adjusted rack was slow (2 hours averaging between 20-30km/h) as I babied the bikes over the bumps but we got there!

We came along to this cache via McKillops Bridge and after locating the container and signing as required it was replaced as it had been found. While we were there father emu came strutting along with four juvenile chicks. It was a pleasure to just watch them for a while before they wandered off. It was then back south to Suggan Buggan to camp for the night. Thank you to Imohalloran for placing this cache.

Today we continued our journey across Australia and took a short break here.
I think it was not the smartest choise to take this unpaved road with our RV, but we had great views along the way. The cache was our goal, but I only realized half way, that there was no find until I created the poketquery for this region. This was about two weeks ago. So it was not clear, if there was a found in that timespan. So it was really exciting to open the logbook after more than one month after it was placed and find it clean. No entrys .
So now we have a FTF more than 16000 km away from home .
Thanks for this Cache say the Rukos from Germany
