Reperio 10:31Day 2 of our NSW south eastern caching tour, and Master Vitruvius and I travelled from Tarago, through to Bungendore and then on to Captains Flat. It was quite an eventful day, from finding a dog on a lonely country road, to having a brown snake slide up next to me while signing a cache, to having a police officer pull over and put his lights on for us as we were pulling road kill off the roadand of course, lots of geocaches found. A great day out full of geocaching and adventure. Gratias KittykatchAs a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV

05-Mar-24
Today headed towards the one key cache to get at least an hour of exercise. In the end we hiked some 10km on remarkably good trails. The landscape was very green between Lake George and a little beyond the road to Bungendore. We were mostly under the canopy of trees which was quite refreshing despite the hot sun. SocialClimber cleared heaps of overgrowth to get to the GZ area and even then it was nowhere to be seen. It was in the end a lucky find away from GZ on the ground but has been replaced at the base of the tree nearby. TFTC KittyKatch.

05-Mar-24
A bit of excavation and clearing here before a lucky find in the undergrowth. Thanks, Kittykatch!

Found on a drive in Queanbeyan and Bungendore to side-track to highly favourited caches for the Signal's Labyrinth challenge this month. Took way longer than it should've to spot this one. The coords were a little out sure but I still should've looked a lot harder! Fun container. Took the $2 that was inside. Lovely views of the lake full of water; the sheep here seemed peaceful here too! TFTC KK!

It's Earth Day Weekend.

I have decided to finish my finds in each of the 360° around my home location. I have been missing 7° for ages and they are all clustered in this area.
This cache is a lot further north than I had to go, but the last time I was on this road I couldn't get this far north as there were sheep being moved along the road. I also wanted to have a closer look at Lake George with all that water in again.

The last time I was here, the weeds were so thick and wet after recent rain, that I couldn't find the cache.

Today I had no problems.

There are lots of little birds and a few frogs around.

TFTC. A nice find in a lovely area. If it wasn’t for geocaching I would never have come along this road and missed out on all the beautiful scenery.

Found with my partner and sister - very easy to spot from the right angle but it took a while wandering and battling through spiders!!!

19-Jan-22
Went for an afternoon drive, and walk, along the lake road. The lake was very picturesque, full as it now is, a grand expanse of water stretching to the foot of the windmill hills in the distance!

For years after moving to Canberra, with the lakebed dry, I believed lake George to be not a true lake, but akin to those salt "lakes" we have in South Australia. It's quite a dramatic change to see it now!

Lake Road Shining: Wandered in a bit of a circle and upset a lot of spiders on my way to this one! Fortunately it was easy to spot from the right angle. Smile

Thanks for the cache!

16-Jan-21
After a fairly thorough search of 15-20 minutes and 20,000 prickles (under the sea)from the Patterson’s Curse we gave this up as a DNF.

16-Jan-21
Searched for close to 20mins with aussiepusckaks and sophiescout, we turned over every blade of Patersons curse and got half of them in our legs and arms, but couldn't find it pretty sure it has disappeared. TFTC

25-Jul-19
This one took me the longest time to find of any in this series, mostly due to the barbed wire fence. By this time, I was starting to think that it wasn't my poor caching skills but my phone being out by a few metres at each location. so I tried one side of the fence, then the other, and then back again, looking in all the expected hidey holes, but nothing. I didn't want to leave defeated, so I started moving things a little more and finally success. But it wasn't until I found the cache that I realised I'd mis-read the cache title (adding in an extra 'r'). I had to laugh at both the camo and my goofyness. Thanks Kittykatch.

Out again today with my youngest daughter getting some fresh air while geocaching. On our way out to Lake Road to find a previous DNF and some new (since I was last out this way) caches out that way. A quick find, thanks Kittykatch.

My lady is off sick. I've spent the morning doing houseworky thimgs. I have flagged my intention to go caching this arvo, and my lady elected to take her dogs for a short walk. I'm after "Regular" sized caches for Prof RapidlyWilds UGC series. That particular course is holding me up because I'm trying to do them in order, as requested by the professor. Get that course done, I can log the next four or so. Must admit that, after my arm operation when I couldnt drive, I did cheat on three or four of them, and logged them to kepp my streak going. Still, my intentions are good. (Nudge nudge, wink wink). I'm recently back from a really great Caching trip to Brisbane, wher I took my lady to meet my family, and I cleared up a lot of UGC requirements which aren;t avaulable ib Canberra. For example, I found 18 "Large" caches, and nearly 50 "Regular" caches, interstate letterboxes, and three of the oldest caches in Australia. I had a ball. And my lady and my family got on really well. Wedding bells coming. Anyway, I'm making a project of "Regular" sized caches, and I've found a further eighteen since I've come home. Before today, I had 53 more to find, and tody gets that down to 50. I'll have them done in a month or so. Anyway, I have the GeoSchnauzers with me, and we've driven out here and up the road. Lake George is empty (of water, anyway). I really enjoyed the drive, with the range on one side of the raod, and the plain that used to be a lake on the other. We pulled up close to the cache, and the puppies and I started hunting. The puppies found lots of interesting things to sniff, and I found lots of interesting place to put a cache. As it turned out, your cache didn't need an interesting place - it was amusing in itself. Nice one, KittyKatch. Thanks.

A very appropriate hide, as it looks like there is a smidge of water out in the lake just here... maybe it's just mud... TFTC

Attending the Clear Water 2019 mega this Easter in Queanbeyan. Apologies for the generic log but we have found too many to compose individual logs. Many thanks to all the cache owners for their caches, which have been exceptional in their maintenance I have had only 1 dnf and that was only because I was not going to make a tree climb without seeing where the cache was. The vast majority of caches have had very good coordinates. Along with useful hints. TFTC

Teamed up with The Rats to primarily find some of the power trails in ans around the ACT whilst also attending the Mega Event in Queanbeyan. In a couple of days we managed a few hundred finds. The landscape wasn't too bad and we enjoyed the various series placed out. TFTC!

19-Apr-19
Headed down to Queanbeyan for the Clear Waters Mega event over Easter with steeba. We set ourselves a goal of bolstering our find count by doing some of the numerous powertrails that dot the surrounding area.

Grabbed a few caches by night around Bungendore before heading up along Lake George where we found a campsite beside the lake for the night. Thanks to the CO's for placing the caches we found.

Cache 4320 on 29 Dec 2018

After spending Christmas with family and being hampered by a sore foot, I was getting edgy about not caching in my holidays, and a little bored. So Joeylovestreasure and I concocted a plan to grab a few early morning caches along Lake George before the sun was above the yard arm (when beer becomes mandatory)! Great to catch up with an old friend and caching mentor from my first days of caching!

Unless otherwise noted, caches found in good condition and in accordance with any hints.

This cache: well themed cache! Took a while for the GPS to settle! FP

Thanks Kittykatch for the cache and the fun!

Thanks.
