Day 12 of my 2020 NZE (New Zealand Experience).
(My apologies for the delayed logging but I'm in catch-up mode)
Seeing as I can't be in America right now, I'm touring around the South Island instead. During my time here I am aiming to find as many of the TMGT caches as I can (preferably all 41) and also as many Virtuals, Earthcaches and Letterbox Hybrids as possible, plus any Trads or others that will fill a hole in my D/T grid, my Jasmer grid, or else the last 3 remaining Hidden Dates on that grid.
Today's plan was to drive from Timaru down to Dunedin, following the coast but with plenty of side trips to get caches targeted as per above. I have been so lucky to have dry conditions my whole trip so far, with the sun really putting in an effort to convince me it wasn't winter! I didn't mind the chilly starts knowing that the rest of the day was going to be great caching conditions.
This was effectively a quick park n grab. I had no problems finding the cache, and there were no issues with either it or the log so once signed everything was replaced back exactly as found and I was on my way again.
Thanks for placing this Cache.

School holiday outing on a lovely day. A very hidden track! Never knew this was here! Found a bit more than a cache which was unexpected!
These funny little paths never cease to surprise! Nice easy find. TFTH Coconuts3 came up with the goods here.
We have been past here so often but were not GCing. Happy to stop here with busy paws and signed the log CC3BP. Thanks for this cache Bitsprayer.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on the last day of our four day trip to Oamaru and environs and time to head back home to Christchurch, via the scenic route .
On the way south on Thursday, we sussed out the access points of this hidden walkway, so after our reserve walk, SW scooted off through the trees (once the high fence had ended) to the southern access point while I returned to fetch the car. Luckily I was able to find a park not far away from GZ, once the No Parking lines had finished, by which time SW had already found the cache.
Another cache we have driven past a quite a few times so good to turn into a smile at last. Thanks, Bitsprayer.

#18340. Good to include this one on our trip south (one of those caches you drive by a number of times, each time thinking "we really should find time to stop for this one". TFTC.
We parked near the entrance to the camping ground and there was the hidden path. I only took the mobile and then couldn't get the hint. Finally, the hint loaded and M was standing right in the right place. An easy find. Gosh, this is a busy road these days!
The sky was a odd colour today because of the fires in Oz. A good hide.

Out of DUNEDIN and headed to Nelson for a week. On a mission to tick off our 2000th cache on this trip. On the way home now and getting close to our target.
Almost there, this is find number 1998!

A planned geocaching trip with specific targets in mind.
1: The final 2 caches to fill my D/T grid
2: The last 5 caches available (all in the South Island) to meet the NZ Jasmer challenge GC4R9Z6
3: Get as many caches as possible in a day (Solo)
I had no timetable and only a vague route (Christchurch - Dunedin- Invercargill). So after 20 days of sleeping in my tent/car I arrived home having traveled 4500km and visited some interesting places. Met some great people. I had found over 650 caches. That was a lot of park. Jump out out. Find cache sign and return. Then on to the next. All this done by myself. Also attended an event and had 2 FTF
Mission 1 and 2 were achieved and I had a best day of 153 caches. All this done by myself.
Day 14 Herbert Forrest to Waitaki 51 caches found today. Missions completed by now so caching my way back up the island. Thank you for the placement.

A quick easy find. We recall visiting this hidden pathway for a previous cache. TFTC
For my personal challenge of working towards getting my calendar on GC.COM to be at least the same shade of green or darker I need to sign off at least 10 caches today. I won't grumble if I find one or two more. I had shifted my snail shell back in Oamaru for a few days on my way further south.
A very hidden track so close to the SH.
Cheers for the cache.

Fine winters day, time to get back out and to some caching. Nice little walk in the sunshine. TFTC
Now this was a sneaky little track!! A quick find as soon as we had crossed that very busy highway. A strange place for a track, Thanks.
On our way to Christchurch we also stopped in Glenavy Camping site. We explored the closer area around the site and found this cache as well.

Not having found the predecessor on the first go, I just had to stop for this one. The GPS was again having a fit, putting me on the other side of the road. Bermuda triangle for my gps?? Luckily tunfisk spotted the hide! TFTC!!
Was going to Oamaru for a day trip with Mrs Yeetrees as she wanted to go for a ride and pick up a few caches as I wanted to train her how to cache with a phone. We also needed to go and get a new microwave for her dad as I was getting a bit annoyed with the one that he currently owned as it was made when the dinosaurs walked this planet as it was so slow in heating up things that it basically took 4 times longer than it should.
After finding GC6C50V - No more play time, this was the next cache that we had on our list to find today. Making our way out of Morven we made it back to the main road and from there it was a short time to drive to our next cache.
The drive to GZ didnt take too long to get to and once at GZ we managed to find a parking spot not too far from GZ and then once there, I let Mrs Yeetrees out to search for this cache, it only took her a few seconds to work out were this cache was and was able to retrieve it, signed and then replaced it was found.
Thanks Bitsprayer for placing this cache here and for bring us to this spot, will be interesting to see how long this cache will last here for, TFTC TNLNSL (12891), Have already found the previous cache that was in this area, but not with Mrs Yeetrees so it was great to bring her here to discover it and enjoy its delight..

In Geraldine ca(t)ching up with BCD. After a lovely weekend of caching it was time to head home...with a few more finds along the way of course! I remember looking for the other one which took a while and just about to give up on this one when it was finally spotted. TFTC
Quick wee find onmybirthday heading to Geraldine to use the vouchers I won at the oamaru geofest!
Managed to grab the cache while I was heading back home from a morning in oamaru. Found this easier than hidden path 1 . Cheers
A quick park and grab On way home from dropping off / picking up a van in Timaru for work. I have driven past this one hundreds of time till today. Nothing like getting paid to cache. TFTC
I was surely ready for a break and these caches were the pick up I needed although sure I had loaded all the caches in this area I thought I had missed loading one and kicked myself all the way home!
Thanks

And so we begin our journey home after attending the Oamaru Geofest and a wonderful couple of days caching around Oamaru. Our first find for the day. Thanks .
First cache as we head back towards home after nearly a week away caching, caching, caching. This path isn't so hidden at the moment with a huge geotrail leading right to it. TFTC # 11,198
Well we are on our way back to Christchurch from a great weekend in Omaru attending the Geofest. we met some lovely people some we knew and some we didn't its been great seeing familiar faces along the travels all geocaching of course. Now to get the last few of the Thompson track series and head to our nights accommodation, but not before stopping for this cache as well, why not its a caching weekend. thank you for the placement. signed the log and placed it back where we found it. TFTC
A nice quick find on a wander back down SH1. Cheers.
Time for some final caches around Oamaru, and then cruise on home, with Kiwi Moose. Signed the logs K2MR for brevity. Thanks to the CO's for the Caches.

We found caches in some amazing places, travelled along some great country roads.

Out and about with Karma Reprint this weekend, finding a second cache in the trees here. Cool, thought I'd been in this spot before. Cheers
On the way to the Oamaru Geofest with Taybeedragon. Started in Blenheim with a bit of an ignominius start - drove from Blenheim to Murchison then noticed I had some work keys on me that had to be returned. Back to Blenheim. 300km wasted. This is the first cache we found on the trip - I think the dragon had antz in her pantz and needed to go for a walk. I sure did. So we stopped here to do the Glenavy Reserve.
2nd of our 6 Day Adventure down to Oamaru for [Oamaru Geofest 2017](https://coord.info/GC6M2V0).
A quick easy find today - it actually looks quite exposed. I remember stopping here on the way to Dunedin for the 1st NZ Mega aswell - oh the memories! Considering all the geocaching traffic around it hadnt been found much today. 43/48 caches for the day and 250 for our trip. Thanks for placing the cache and adding to our smilies

Toby, Zara, The Seagnoid and I are heading for the Geofest in Oamaru, with a few extra days added on. Headed south from Blenheim Thursday afternoon, stopping in Murchison for dinner. The Seagnoid starts to unpack and finds his work keys still attached to his body. Bugger. So we unhook Toby and to Blenheim and back Thursday night to drop the keys back. So with a late start Friday morning, we are more than ready to take a break from Zara and go for a walk.
Lets start with this one first for a quick snag and tag on our way past. Cheers

On my way to the fest... Of course. someone was making a noise over the fence so extra stealth was needed tftc
7652. Found on way down to the Oamaru event. Short log in McCafe. Longer log later. TFTC. Rodney and Iris.
Nearly forgot we found this one, we parked up and slipped through to the hidden track and it didn't take long to find the cache here, getting plenty of traffic through here at the moment I'm sure with the festival on in Oamaru - sure why we were headed down the road. Thanks for the cache, all good here.
Nice quick walk with Fiona leading we down the garden path, on way to geofest.
I am heading down to Oamaru with LSteamer. Not long now until the geofest.
I saw another geocacher as I approached gz. I read the hint wrong so it took me a while. Time for a walk around the reserve next.
Find out more about New Zealand's next big event [Oamaru Geofest](http://oamarugeofest2017.wixsite.com/geocachingevent) and come and join us.
Thanks. Bitsprayer for putting in the effort to hide this geocache. This was find for me.

**FTF** Been a few years since we last walked this track. cache all good and found a clean unsigned log book. TFTC
Just before I left home to make my way towards Geofest 2017 I quickly loaded this and the other 4 recently published Bitsprayer caches into my gps. Had had finished signing the log and moved to re-cross the road to my cachemobile when I noticed a rather familiar campervan had pulled up & parked just 50m further up the road. Hello Nosynel, see you in Oamaru ! TFTC Bitsprayer.
