Having met up with GrumpyBump earlier this morning when we were bth dong te same Adventure Lab we decided to continue caching together and we decided to do this Earth Cache. An interesting little cave we would nt have known about except for geocaching. Answers have been sent to te CO.
This cache was found today and brings our overall cache find tally to 13489.I stopped by this Earthcache after a long day at the office today. It was a nice little spot Id never been to before. I gathered the required details and headed on my way. Answers have been sent via the message centre. Thanks RoddyC for the cache.
Bei einem morgendlichen Aufenthalt in dieser Gegend lockte uns pltzlich mal wieder unser Hobby aus der Lethargie und fhrte uns zu diesem interessanten EC. Zum Glck war man um die Uhrzeit sehr unbeobachtet, so konnte die Aufgabe schnell und unauffllig bearbeitet werden. Schne Idee, sehr schn gemacht! Vielen Dank frs Legen und Pflegen!

Need a find today for my 366 Calendar Challenge, so headed out to Toohey Forest on an overcast, miserable day. The wet weather held off long enough for my walk to the GZ.I arrived at a very interesting geological formation and started collecting the necessary information to log the cache. After collecting the necessary information, I took a moment to marvel at Mother Nature and her creations. Geology has never been my forte, but you can only learn by challenging yourself. A short walk past GZ brought me to a nice scenic lookout towards the border ranges. TFTearthC RoddyC. I had a late night last night watching my son's school band " the Crooked Collective" rock (different type to that here) a year 7 to 9 school dance. After a sleep in, I did three full minutes planning whilst scoffing coffee and breakfast and assembled a cache list of sorts, mostly aiming for pockets of unloved caches and some solved puzzles on the southside. During the morning I passed Toohey Forest, so a quick stop here to enjoy the view nearby and then check out the cave was called for. Some interesting geology was on display here and the answers to the questions were collected at [11:22]. The local kids have used some timber to build a large teepee structure just here. Auch heute haben mich Mama und Papa wieder mitgeschleift, um ein bisschen frische Luft zu schnappen und das Tagesdschen zu finden. Down in Brisbane for a special occasion and after completing some special duties there was time for some caching.
I hadn’t been to this area before, a really nice walk in and a good spot to visit. We then went and checked out the views to the mountains.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been up this way… so long that this EC now appears on my Closest Unfound to home search…
The signage at the lookout was a great resource and the number of summits I could tick off was even more surprising…
I usually step over Earthcaches, but my appreciation of them is growing, and I’ve learnt more than I care admit…

Exploring a new section of TF today. I stopped at the lookout for a while because the view was incredibly clear today with Mt Barney and Mt Lindsay both visible out on the horizon. I sat and read through the Earthcache info and then headed down to check out the cave.

Found with Muggle65 and Brislions today while they were on the hunt for a nearby older cache. I remember the days before challenges when we didn't care how old, what size, which CO, what type. Times, they really do change. Answers sent and photo supplied. Thank you for the fun ??
The Chief knows I have a weakness for an earthcache…so we headed in this direction before turning the car out towards the airport for the homeward leg of our very brief but busy weekend. Having managed to squeeze in a business meeting and lunch on Friday, a walk in the West End followed by dinner with my sister and nephew number 1 on Saturday, then a family day with my folks and an afternoon drink with my sister and nephew number 2 on Sunday…but today was about exploring a couple of adlabs in parts of Brisbane we don’t know very well. Of course we pulled up nearby, were about to get out of the car and the Chief got a work call..they find you no matter where you are….We did a quick walk up the hill, admired the view, checked out GZ, took some photos and headed back to the car and headed off to the airport hoping our flight wasn’t cancelled or worse….grateful we were flying out of Brisbane and not Coolangatta airport where it seems any computer glitch can shut down the whole show for hours. Anyway, answers have been sorted and sent to the CO. Thanks RoddyC

A walk around the area today, doing some labs and some little caches, when I came across this little gem. What a fun hide. Not sure if it has been through some fires or if it is black from the pollution in the area but it was still an interesting.

Two months earlier, my windscreen needed replacing.... apparently there were none of mine in Australia! Fast forward to today. I had to do my car off at o'brien in meadowbrook but collect my car "later" from Mt Gravatt at Subaru. Hmmm. Batman and Spiderman were both busy, so was my personal limo driver.
A super hero of the geocaching kind came to my rescue. We took the long way from point A to B with breaks of caches collected along the way. Some planned, some not. That's how we usually roll though.
The cave is unique for the area and the unicorn added a nice touch.

Another great Earthcache from RoddyC. After living in Brisbane for more than 50 years, I find it amazing on what you take for granted around the area and what went into forming the landscape. Again we learnt something new that we didn't know before, fantastic.

Spent some time walking and geocaching in this lovely bushland area - my first visit here. Enjoyed learning about the geology of Pegg's Cave and have sent answers to the CO. There was a great view south on this clear day. Tftc
Out and about today with Team FNyetta to find our first cache. This one didn't disappoint with a nice stroll through the bush tracks. Although it was a little wet (See photo) it was a great first find for our team. Thank you FNyetta for guiding us for our first one. TFTC

My childhood home is a few hundred metres from an entrance to Toohey Forest and I spent a lot of time exploring here. Thanks for giving me a reason to come back to an old haunt. TFTEC
This evening, I decided to do a bit of geocaching in Brisbane's suburbs, namely Moorvale and Nathan Heights. After completing a creek walk, I then did a jog around Toohey Forest, that was quite scenic and offered diverse terrain and interesting geology.
An enjoyable EarthCache, and interesting to read about the uniqueness of the sandstone in the area, in relation to the quartz content. The cave was pretty cool too. I reviewed the cave and its associated geology and collected the answers, and sent to the CO for verification. Thanks RoddyC for the EarthCache placement and organisation.
