Logs
DNF - theres a bit of twine there that looks like it used to be attached to but no cache..
Checked this out while down there today but like previous logs we could not find it either. Did notice some twine on the log next to the tree that had nothing tied to it. Sorry.
Visited again today, construction of a new boat ramp pretty well encompassing the cache site
Found location and rock but all that was left was an outline. Think the muggles got this one
Day 12 of our NQ holiday & today we are taking our boys fishing... Lucky for us there was a couple of caches to be found aswell, this one being one of them
TFTC Newcacher#2 A quick find here, logbook was pretty gross after all the rain.

found but the cache is a little worse for wear - log mouldy and slimy but difficult to write on could do with some tlc
Found cache quickly, log a bit damp, but it is hanging in there. Thanks for the cache.
It’s a surprise to me that the cache is still in place as it appears that gz can be occasionally submerged. That’s why the container was buried deep below dried mud and the log was all wet. Still took my ink though. Lovely houses around here, which are obviously prepared once the water comes.
It has been quite some time since I explored the general Burdekin region. Numerous years ago we stayed in town overnight, did a dive at the SS Yongala and enjoyed the little town a little more before continuing further. Since that time we usually only rushed through to leave as much bitumen behind us as possible with the aim of exploring locations down south. Also a few more wet visits at the Yongala followed, but all of those were made via liveaboars.
But not this time. This time I specifically took the time to enjoy the area. Well, and what better to do than searching for all these great new caches that have fairly recently been added to the map. Thank you very much Newcacher#2 that you have created this cache and showed me the area! Much appreciated.

TFTC. I made the find with my nephews FootballHeadWill and TC-14. We we hoping hoping to spot a croc but had no luck today.
Found on 16/9/2022; find number 1559.
Out again in this area hoping to reproduce my success with cane fire photography and caching to fill time before the evening.
A few around the r,p today, but being a weekday, most of the houses look unoccupied.
Managed to find a break to grab the cache and take a seat for the business. Then another break and back went the cache.
Thanks for the hunt and the cache Newcacher#2.

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 98. Ayr Day 2. I went a bit South today, Home Hill and the Burdekin bridge and two coastal villages. There is some very interesting country and WWII features in the area to visit.
After a meandering drive out here as some of the roads Tomtom wanted to take do not exist, I reached a very popular coastal spot. People everywhere. No one using the ramp, and a quick find and sign before moving on to another coastal spot.
Thanks for the cache Newcacher#2

On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting & detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird, Angry Bird & occasionally even Love Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC Newcacher#2

The Mega has been and gone and we had a ball. We've decided to hang around for a while and find as many caches as we can before we turn south for home.
Cheryl found this one while I took some photos of the caravan park and surrounds. Wonder what the midgees are like here, everywhere seems that they have tungsten tipped teeth.
Thanks Newcacher#2 for placing this cache.

So many caravans, what’s the big attraction, now to find my way back to Home Hill to appease the geogranny
Then we watched out for crocs. No crocs but surprise surprise: a cache.

Took a drive out to Groper Creek and was amazed at this community/caravan park. No problems finding the cache. Signed and returned unnoticed I hope. Tftc
Found HDSpringer with AdorableRose and Minnamouse and geogal 83 with Georainbow great granddaughter
No cross sighted but one of a kind driveways up to some of those houses. Fav and thanks
One of those surprising places that caching takes you to. Easy find.

Found! Luckily parked our car right beside it so had a bit of cover from muggles.
Found today with Big Red 46. Easy find this time as we parked in the right spot. TFTC.
Nice little drive out from Home Hill.
Great little spot for campers and fishers.
Found cache fairly quickly.

Found while having a walk around this great camping place. All dry and in good shape TFTC
On the eve of Christmas we decided to do a morning cache. After a quick breaky we made our way to our destination. Surprisingly only one camper at the caravan park which is normally a very busy area. Little concerned that this cache will not last due to its current position and king tides or floods. Had a bit of a wait to replace the cache due to a fisherman taking his time washing his boat. TFTC.
There was a well placed car and boat trailer that gave us a bit of cover while we searched and compared to our first search for the previous cache this ended up being a quick easy find.
Would never have come to Grouper Creek if not for a cache waiting to be found and having plenty of time to drive the byways today to find it. T4T$
Feeling a little less exposed for this one compared to the failed hunt for the original, but happy to have avenged that. Have to think that if the developers built houses like this on the flood plains around Oonoonba, Mundingburra and Annandale, or even half the stump height that all the issues they had at the start of the year, no one would have had a worry in the world .
Camped here for the week, great to find a cache nearby. Lot of stealth required. TFTC!

There is evidence of flooding here. I could not find this cache, and am fairly certain it has been washed away.
Dnf. Had a good look. Found a screw in the tree i assume it was hanging off but not luck. I'll have to watch this to see if anyone else finds it
About to give up on this one when I couldn.t find it. One last look and bingo it was found. It sure was a challenge with locals out and about on a Sunday. TFTC
Watch out for Caravanners, more like it. Drove down there this morning with high hopes of a chance to do some fishing and find the local geocache. Had to be at least 60 vans in the park, and people everywhere. One van was parked within a couple of metres of the indicated GZ, so no chance of retrieving the cache. But it was an interesting drive, and worth the visit. Thanks for bringing me to this quaint little fishing village. Cheers from Bindair Dundat.
This is my favourite place on the planet!! Was visiting to reminisce and found this cache!!! Thanks for the hide!
1003hrs. Out for a drive before I leave the area for another cane season. Phone had me going in circles. Back to using a GPS. Found it in the end. Log signed. Nice and quiet out here today. TFTC
Quick stop on the way back to Townsville with Karicka after collecting two FTF’s in Bowen this morning.
Thanks for hiding.

Easy find - concerned about whether this one might get washed away in floods though. TFTC
{FTF} 8:13am. I'm up visiting my husband for the week from Brisbane, but as he is still working I have the days to fill as I please. I was alerted to this possible FTF by a Townsville local the other night and after completing a 19km walk collecting the Breaking Bad series, today needed to be a quiet one and so a plan was hatched. Dumped hubby at work at 6:30 and then made my way down here for this possible FTF. Took a couple of laps of the trees to find it, but the coords are bang on, I was just looking the wrong way. Beautiful area here.
Unable to search the area properly because there was someone fishing in the spot the GPS wanted to take us.
