We are slowly heading back home after finishing the hump ridge track , picking up few caches on the way. It was an incredible three days of pure magic. Thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it.
Had to make arm a bit extra stretchy to reach.. Cache is all good here. TFTC

Monday 2 November. Headed out to Otautau today. Another cool overcast day this morning at 8deg. Toby lets get exploring!
Toby, Zara and I are on a 3 week geo adventure of Cromwell, Southland, Catlins, Balclutha with a day in Dunedin and quick stop in Timaru. With Lenny, my trusty navigator and TBD my companion/mascot. we managed to visit lots of green boxes, now happy faces with the odd sad one. Did some LABs , earth caches, virtuals and wherigos, all chucked into the mix to rack up 500 odd caches. Lots of kilometers, lots of exploring and lots of fun. Thanks to all COs for our wonderful experience.

Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.
======== NZ Mega 2020 ========
Planning for the NZ Mega 2020 event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. Thanks for hiding this geocache.

We had a go at this one a while ago in the dark with no success but it was quickly located today. The hint from a previous log helped narrow do the hide for us too as it was well hidden. TFTC [^]

That must be the finest Hawthorn hedge I've ever seen, well not so good as a hedge really, but big trees for hawthorns., shame no haws but can't make yummy butter while we're on holiday
Ha this was a sneaky hide. We are on holiday and stopping where we can with motorhome. Looked at many possibilities and then bingo. Thanks for this cache Tuitigger.
A planned geocaching trip with specific targets in mind.
1: The final 2 caches to fill my D/T grid
2: The last 5 caches available (all in the South Island) to meet the NZ Jasmer challenge GC4R9Z6
3: Get as many caches as possible in a day (Solo)
I had no timetable and only a vague route (Christchurch - Dunedin- Invercargill). So after 20 days of sleeping in my tent/car I arrived home having traveled 4500km and visited some interesting places. Met some great people. I had found over 650 caches. That was a lot of park. Jump out out. Find cache sign and return. Then on to the next. All this done by myself. Also attended an event and had 2 FTF
Mission 1 and 2 were achieved and I had a best day of 153 caches. All this done by myself.
Day 10 Invercargill to Gore 18 caches found including 1 of my targets. Heading to Riverton so stopped for a look. Finally I spotted it. Thank you for the placement

Went up wrong road towards this. Quick find but dropped so needed to sort out. TFTC
We are on our summer holiday driving around the South Island with no real idea of where we will end up each day. We are often drawn to an area that has the potential to give us a few geocaching smilies and somewhere we have not spent time exploring before. In some cases we are revisiting placed that we have been before but liked so much we are going there again.
The cache was a quick find, signed the log and returned it as we found it.
Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley

Mum nearly drove right past where we needed to go, it was a quick find when we got the right driveway. TFTC
Nearly drove past where we needed to go but soon had cache in hand. Quick find TFTC
Drove into the actual entrance before realising my mistake so backtracked and then into the one I was supposed to. Then I could see a workman down there so backed out and parked at the start and walked back down to sign the log. Then I went to check that the two 3lderly women parked in their car with the bonnet up were ok. I know I should have done that first but I am no mechanic - they were happy chatting and waiting for the one that was on its way. TFTC # 12,504
A week away down south and a chance for some caching. Was a nice and easy find this with the hopes of lots more. TFTC
Cache was exposed and log was missing. We put log in and rehid where we thought it should have been, signed log while touring around NZ from Australia...TFTC
Down to visit my brother and judge Dahlias at Bluff flower show. Out to get some caches before the rain. Thanks Tuitigger for the cache.
Down from Northland for a few days for a short visit and just had to make sure of a cache or three each day. Today was a bit better, but still much more like early winter than summer.
While waiting for the rest of the troops to get ready for departure, I headed out to look for a couple. This one was relatively close to our accommodation and once near GZ, was soon found. Signed the log and replaced safe and secure as found. TFTC

Stopped here on our way back to home from the Australian Day event. Quick found this time. TFTC.
Tftc just about to hot for caching today but heading to the beach so stopped for this one today - my car says 33 but I am sure it is warmer
We wondered if we might have to pass by this cache, as we waited in a queue of about 50 cars waiting to get through road works, but no, we were able to park safely, and were out of sight searching. A combination of prickly trees and prickly wires, but we soon spotted the sneaky hide, although it was a micro, not small. Then a lengthy wait to get back out on the road again. TFTC
A easy and quick found.
