Logs
Our day started at 7 am. We were dressed and in the car, ready to head down towards Goulburn with the specific goal in mind of completing as many of the Taralga Trek caches as possible. We arrived at our first cache just after 8 am, and completed our journey at 5 pm. We attempted 59 caches in total. Sadly, 6 turned out to be DNFs.Throughout the day, we had to battle the wind to keep our feet on the ground. Despite that, the views from most locations and the journey in between were great. We stopped in at Taralga Hotel and had a delicious lunch between the legs of our adventure. Given the sheer volume of finds today, my logs are pretty generic unless there was something interesting to add.ABOUT THIS CACHE: I started looking for this one in the completely wrong location. I had left the phone in the car, thinking I knew where to look. After a few minutes, I retrieved my phone to find i was in the completely wrong spot. Once at the actual GZ, it was a quick, easy find. The log was very wet, but we were still able to manage a signature. TFTC and the awesome adventure with my son!
Reperio 17:16Today I headed down to Canberra to catch a flight to Adelaide for the upcoming mega event, and managed to pick up a few caches this afternoon along the way before finding somewhere to sleep for the night. This one was found after a short search at GZ. Gratias gazza959As a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV

Using up a day of 'extra' leave (before I lose it at the end of the month) to top up my find numbers for the day. Cached from Goulburn to Laggan via Taralga picking up over 40 caches in total. Cache easily found. TFTC.

Once I pulled up and got near GZ, I didn't expect I would find this one. Many rocks, mostly hidden in the long grass and thistles. So I started to poke around, using a stick to defeat thistles, and luckily found it fairly quickly. Thanks, Gazza.
**This Cache:**
Picked up 5 more of the caches in this series today...
I did this series in November 2017. Quite shocking that I have left a string of them unfound for 5 years now. And I was hoping to complete the 12 I had left, but only managed 5 and a few others before time was running out...!
So now I still have 7 unfound, ughhhh! Hopefully it won't take me another 5 years to come back though!
Thanks gazza! Great series just like I remembered
**Today:**
Headed out to rural NSW from ACT for a big day of event attending!
First up an event in Gunning, then a Community Celebration in Crookwell and finally another event + CITO in Goulburn! Made sure to also visit a couple other small towns between whilst caching!
Ended up with 35 finds today and hit cache find #15,000 unexpectedly! The milestones sneak up quickly when you don't keep an eye them! A huge month of caching coming up in November as well with the Vic Mega in particular!
Special thanks to GLISS! in particular for the mammoth organisation, as well as Nibletricecakes who also did a huge job in hosting one of the events and cooking up the perfect snags for the brekkie event as well!
Thanks to all the attendees too for supporting the community & all the great catch-ups that were had! Oh and shout-out to Crookwell RSL for managing to cater such a big crowd of both geocachers and christining folk who happily shared the big venue!

Yesterday afternoon we started the Taralga Trek series about before the light became too dim, we had found half of them. This afternoon we returned with the aim of finishing the series. We started earlier than yesterday to give us a little more time.
Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find of this very well designed and constructed cache. Unfortunately the logbook was saturated and totally unusable. We dried the container as much as a short visit would permit. We left a temporary replacement log in a sealable plastic bag as an interim measure. Thanks gazza959 for the cache and the series.

#11368 - 12:26:00 PM; Set out on a cold but sunny morning with Sol de lune and Smittengranny on a caching mission north to Taralga then west to Laggan and Crookwell. Seventy three caches found and three DNFs for the day. Logs signed LL, Sdl and SG or similar. Most caches were found without incident and apart from a few soggy logs, were in good condition. A chilly wind came up just before noon, but didn't detract from an excellent day's caching. Apologies for the generic logs. TFTC gazza959
On this sunny cool Sunday morning I was out caching for the day with Sol de Lune and LuckyL10n. Our main target were the caches along the roads through Taralga, Laggan, Crookwell to Gunning and home to Canberra again. We started this series here as it had been decided to get out of town a bit as we could grab the others at a later date.
We took it in turns to jump out and grab and sign the logs, though on occasions all three of us were out searching. Thanks for this series gazza959. All logs were signed with some combination of LSS or some such thing.

A day out caching with Smittengranny and LuckyL10n up to Taralga, Crookwell and Gunning before heading home to Canberra. A great day for caching, even with the wind being a tad cool...
Lots of caches found today and this was our next one. No issues at all and our names were soon in the log.
Thanks gazza959 for the history and showing us the area.

Floating around on the hunt for Taralga Trek Too: Commissioners Creek. Log was signed ?? and replaced and the scene evacuated OCW *Throsbyonchurch* and *DustyJasperJet*. TFTC! gazza959! Your efforts in placing and maintaining this cache are much appreciated.

Onward bound to *Commissioners Creek* to seek out this cache once more - the last for me in this series. Crikey, how long ago was I here !? April 2018, 3 years ago. Well, it's good to finally get back here and find this cache. Now I don't have to see it on the map anymore ot think about finding it The frogs were croaking up a storm in the little water hole and when I approached they shut up. I couldn't see them anywhere. When I left they began again. Found the cache although it was a little challenging in all this long grass. We signed the log in either our names or our initials in some switcheroo form of LP, DJJ, ToC and then returned cache to its hide'y hole exactly as found.
**The Day**
We were out the door early today to meet up with out Scout group at *Sutton Forest* who were heading off to *Bookham* for an overnight white water kayaking adventure. We had intended to go back home, but impulsively decided to head down to *Goulburn* and onto *Crookwell*. We made it to *Goulburn* but didn't get to *Crookwell* as quickly as I figured. We went on a long windy adventure instead - Taralga; Golspie; Fullerton; Peelwood; Tuena; Binda; Crookwell; Goulburn. A long day on the road. I was amazed how many caches we had found, and of course I had to round it off. We **had the most fantastic day.**

TFTC Thank you for hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.
Finally made the trip around Goulburn, Taralga and Laggan. A big day on the road with lots of caches found. Thanks For The Caches!
A day off today, so I have decided to do the Taralga series of caches. We finally have a weekend without miserable weather and it was a great day to be outside. A nice quick find, thanks gazza959.
OCW Stumble's Mate today to clean up some more caches in and around the Goulburn area. We cleaned up the Mt Grey series and after refueling, out to Crookwell and home via Wombeyan Caves Road and so glad we did!! These views are magnificent!
Decided to take a drive to Goulburn, along the back road.
Picked up caches along the way, and this was one of them.
Signed and replaced as found.
Many thanks for placing this cache, gazza959, for us and others to find.

After cleaning up the Mt Grey series and stopping for a bite to eat, we decided to head out to Crookwell and home via Wombeyan Caves. Some of the views we had along the way were magnificent, so if you are thinking of heading out this way......do it!
Epic day out and all caches found were in good condition.
Thanks to CO's for their hides!
I question this being a "tree limb" as the hint suggests and if this is where it was when we were out this way last year, then I have absolutely no idea how we missed it!

The trip was planned today to pick up some caches from Taralga to Laggan, along with ilook4geo. We stayed at Taralga and did the return trip managing to locate each cache placed along the way. The sights and history of this region are interesting and there is so much to learn and absorb. Thanks go to gazza959 for placing this cache to encourage people to come and visit the area and support the small communities.
Travelling between Taralga and Laggan (and return) with goingplaces2 and doing some caching as well. Had a good day, even though it was very cold. Quick finds and then back in the car were good. TFTC.
This one took a little longer, altho Silvereyes was at the right stump, just not the correct side almost immediately; after reading previous posts, I walked along the fence line, saw something a little out of place, and soon had cache in hand, our Gps were not taking us to the correct spot, very pleased to find this, as we had spent more time looking in the incorrect spot. tftc
Full honours to TravelGran for this one. Our co-ordinates were way out of kilter and we spent a good deal of time searching among the Black Sallies. Beware of a decoy which needlessly distracted my attention.....a clever hide - thanks Gazza
Thanx for the new series. All nice and easy to find and makes for a successful day of caching. Thanx Gazza!
Staying in Goulburn for two nights and today we decided to do the Taralga Trek and Taralga Trek Too caches. Many thanks to the CO/s for placing these caches and showing us around your area.
Staying in Goulburn for 2 days and decided to do this Trail out in the countryside. Due to the number of caches found a generic message is done for all. Thank you gazza959 for placing these caches in their respective locations. Found cache and signed log. TFTC

AngelG27, Tankengine and I decided to hit the trails near Canberra to pick up some numbers. It was an awesome team - TEs driving skills, AngelG27s food delights and I guess I was just there for my sparkling personality??? Anyway it was a great day out and I loved being with my friends.
Trails aren't my favourite way to cache, but doing it with friends makes it not so bad. I have to admit too that a lot of the caches on this trail were also a little different than just a mint tin or sistema under a rock and so for a powertrail this was a nice one.
All the caches were in good order and the coords were good enough to find the cache - unless otherwise mentioned. Tftc gazza959!!!
Found two caches here and both were wet, but still just able to sign. Nice spot, no need to reach.

Cache 4838 on 10 Mar 2019.
What is not to love about a long weekend - an extra day to go caching! I have a goal to reach 5000 caches at the QBN mega, so a few extra cache trips are required. Power trails are not my favourite type of caching, but doing them with caching buddies makes them bearable! So Tankengine, dty73 and myself headed toward the Taralga series today for some numbers.
TE has most of them already so he was driving, and giving us such useful advice! We also picked up other caches along the way, well why not! All caches found in good order and according to the hint, unless otherwise indicated.
This cache: took a while, but found in a neat spot!
Thanks gazza959 for the cache and the fun!

We completed the Taralga Trek yesterday before continuing on to the Wombeyan Caves, and so after having spent most of today exploring the Caves and then returning to Taralga this was our next geoaching trail to undertake. Our GPS was out by several meters for this one, but on widening our search of the Ground Zero area the nicely hidden cache was found soon enough. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe

We had some difficulty here. Tankengine suggested the cache was 12 metres out, so we extended our search, trying everything that fit the clue, but had no luck. After a while we were on the verge of deciding we had our first DNF for the day, when Toriaz suddenly came at this cache with a totally new insight, and turned the cache up not far at all from where we had first started to look.
I am including some coordinates that might help others. Thanks

Had done a big whack of this series a fair while ago, but notice now that there are more! So decided to come out and collect some more of them today! Not sure it was a good day for it, what with the extremely fierce - super icy cold wind (and not to mention the constant horizontal drizzle). Not that I really got wet, the wind dried me as fast as the rain could wet me! The car said it was averaging 3-4 degrees outside, but with the wind chill, I recon it felt like -10! One thing I though odd was that many of the wind turbines around here were stationary! (Others were going flat chat!). I would have thought on a day like today, they would all be going flat out! Maybe I need to report a needs maintenance .
This one is 12m out, so took a fair while to find.

An all electric house in winter with no electricity is no place to be, so we went caching. We had a lovely day wandering along a surprisingly busy road. Thank you for this series of well placed caches.
Out and about with Happy Uke again today to get some caches. We had Mizmaz along to help out along the way.
Thanks for this one.
Thanks for this one.
As I was driving home late last night from a very long and tiring day caching around Batemans Bay ticking off my 5000th milestone, got a text from HappyUke with an invite to join her and Finalf29 for a spontaneous cache run today. Possibly too tired to think sensibly but knowing they would do all the planning, driving and navigating, I readily agreed as the proposed PT numbers (plus a few others) would help with the mythical creatures challenge. Started the day up to Gryphon status and 40 smileys later I had the Dragon (with ten towards the last souvenir).
A big day out with Mizmaz and Finalf29 was organised (last night) to knock off a few caches in the "Hidden Creatures" challenge. We had a fantastic day with lovely weather, great caches and wonderful company... I think we are all talked out now! Thanks to all the CO's. We got forty for the day.

Finally a chance to check this cache. Snowing here yesterday - barely better today, being cold, windy and a little sleet.
Cache definitely gone. Must have happened when that half a tree has fallen across the fence nearby - pretty sure that wasn't there when I hid this cache!
Anyway - new container, new log.
Ready to go

**The Cache**
I do wish I had some *Current* information on these caches at hand today and/or working mobile reception. I didn't know this one was not found by so many cachers. We searched high and low, in and out, over and under, for quite some time and found nothing. how does a cache out here disappear!?! Now home I have discovered that that search was destined to be fruitless. Oh well, the joys of rural caching.
**The Day**
OCW *Little Kitten* and *DustyJapserJet*. Arrived in Goulburn at midday and grabbed a bite to eat in order to sustain us for this afternoons trek, and off we went to Taralga, arriving 50 minutes later. I have had caching plans for these school holidays but Hubz told me it was going to rain - gaahhh - it hasn't till today, so I have got very little done. This morning I was in a real dither and really bothered about the weather and whether I would pack the tent and go to Yass, but it was all a major headache dampened by weather and having guests tomorrow afternoon - gaahhh ! Looking out the window to cold weather and dark clouds, I eventually got a bright idea and figured it would satisfy thy sullen soul. A trip to Taralga became the order of the day and stuff the weather. That was the best decision I have made all day [^] !!!! The weather was sunny, warm and just beautiful. Thy spirits were suitably lifted and a brilliant afternoon was had. [^] The movies tomorrow to see *Peter Rabbit* will top this weekend off nicely and I will be home to see our guests. Win, win.

OCW StumbleTrip today. Our aim was to do the trip between Goulburn, Taralga, Laggan, Crookwell and back Goulburn. All up we attempted 67 caches of which 4 were DNF's. Time wise we took way longer than we had calculated but then we didn't really have a time limit! Thanks to the cache owners for placing all the caches we attempted today!
GPS had us all over the place again, settling on a location that had little to do with the hint. Expanding our search location failed to turn up any sign of a cache. CO may need to check this location not only for the cache but to confirm co-ords.

Geocaching buddy StrangTrousers and I headed off for a bit of caching on what turned out to be a cold – dam cold and windy day. So good to finally get that number. The road has been long to get here. Today’s journey was a loop Taralga Trek series via Goulburn, Crookwell, Laggan and Taralga. The 1000th cache mentioned a rock – so apt with geocaching. A glass of something with bubbles in it to celebrate a lunch before the final push using the last hours of daylight. What a day! Loved every minute of it even with the wind and the cold. Big thank you to StrangTrousers for the company and hours of driving.

I joined CBRChic for a return to the Taralga Trek series via Goulburn, Crookwell, Laggan and Taralga. On the way home we took a detour via Currawang to grab a few caches out that way. CBRChic was keen to reach her 1000th find & today she smashed through that milestone before lunch and added a healthy bite into the next 1000. Glad I could help. We enjoyed an impromptu glass of sparkling white at a Taralga pub in celebration.
The weather this weekend has been pretty horrible. Today was no exception with bitterly cold gusty winds and occasional showers. Just a week ago it was hovering around 30C, but today the wind chill had us in wintery conditions.
Didn't find this one.
Thanks anyway gazza959

Not found on a drive around from Goulburn to Taralga to Laggan to Crookwell and back to Goulburn. This one eluded me though, there did not appear to be anything at the gz that fit the hint so I extended my search area by 10 metres to things that met the hint but after 30 minutes gave up. TFTC anyway and for the series.
**# 20703** Found on the start of our mega adventure to ACT, NSW, QLD and beyond.
Today was another fine day for a drive to Crookwell and Taralga with Tassie Trekkers.
Less muggles around today and a good variety of hides again.
Thanks for the cache and the series gazza959,

Finished the ES series with Kittykatch and did a road trip via Boorowa to do this series. We left it a bit late I think but it was a nice drive in the country and good to get some of these done. TFTC
