Fun caching in this region today. Great weather in a lovely location. Quick find! TFTC gazza959!
Exploring the Goulburn region today we took the opportunity to stop here. This cache was a straightforward find in the obvious location. Another damp log here. Thanks!
Our day started at 7 am. We were dressed and in the car, ready to head down towards Goulburn with the specific goal in mind of completing as many of the Taralga Trek caches as possible. We arrived at our first cache just after 8 am, and completed our journey at 5 pm. We attempted 59 caches in total. Sadly, 6 turned out to be DNFs.Throughout the day, we had to battle the wind to keep our feet on the ground. Despite that, the views from most locations and the journey in between were great. We stopped in at Taralga Hotel and had a delicious lunch between the legs of our adventure. Given the sheer volume of finds today, my logs are pretty generic unless there was something interesting to add.ABOUT THIS CACHE: On approach to the SPOS, I saw something move out of the corner of my eye. I immediately stopped to assess the situation and watched a blue tongue lizard turn tail and disappear into the pile. I could then hear it moving around in the debris. I was frozen for a moment or two, assessing the situation to ensure safety moving forward. After a safe approach to GZ was determined, we gathered the courage to continue forward. It wasn't long before we had the cache in hand, signed and returned. Thankfully, no more movement was seen or heard as we headed back to the car.TFTC and the awesome adventure with my son!
Reperio 17:28Today I headed down to Canberra to catch a flight to Adelaide for the upcoming mega event, and managed to pick up a few caches this afternoon along the way before finding somewhere to sleep for the night. This one was found after a relatively short search at GZ. Gratias gazza959As a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
After a bit of search through the clue stuff eventually found it.Logbook damp. Moisture in bottom of container and emptied most out.TFTC

Yesterday afternoon we started the Taralga Trek series about before the light became too dim, we had found half of them. This afternoon we returned with the aim of finishing the series. We started earlier than yesterday to give us a little more time.
Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks gazza959 for the cache and the series.

#11365 - 12:15:00 PM; Set out on a cold but sunny morning with Sol de lune and Smittengranny on a caching mission north to Taralga then west to Laggan and Crookwell. Seventy three caches found and three DNFs for the day. Logs signed LL, Sdl and SG or similar. Most caches were found without incident and apart from a few soggy logs, were in good condition. A chilly wind came up just before noon, but didn't detract from an excellent day's caching. Apologies for the generic logs. TFTC gazza959
A quick find by LuckyL10n while i was still approaching GZ.
On this sunny cool Sunday morning I was out caching for the day with Sol de Lune and LuckyL10n. Our main target were the caches along the roads through Taralga, Laggan, Crookwell to Gunning and home to Canberra again. We started this series here as it had been decided to get out of town a bit as we could grab the others at a later date.
We took it in turns to jump out and grab and sign the logs, though on occasions all three of us were out searching. Thanks for this series gazza959. All logs were signed with some combination of LSS.

A day out caching with Smittengranny and LuckyL10n up to Taralga, Crookwell and Gunning before heading home to Canberra. A great day for caching, even with the wind being a tad cool...
Lots of caches found today and this was our next one. No issues at all and our names were soon in the log.
Thanks gazza959 for the history and showing us the area.

Finally made the trip around Goulburn, Taralga and Laggan. A big day on the road with lots of caches found. Thanks For The Caches!
A day off today, so I have decided to do the Taralga series of caches. We finally have a weekend without miserable weather and it was a great day to be outside. A nice quick find, thanks gazza959.
We have avenged our DNF from previously. So good to have this found. All good with the. TFTC gazza959

The trip was planned today to pick up some caches from Taralga to Laggan, along with ilook4geo. We stayed at Taralga and did the return trip managing to locate each cache placed along the way. The sights and history of this region are interesting and there is so much to learn and absorb. Thanks go to gazza959 for placing this cache to encourage people to come and visit the area and support the small communities.
Travelling between Taralga and Laggan (and return) with goingplaces2 and doing some caching as well. Had a good day, even though it was very cold. Quick finds and then back in the car were good. TFTC.
Suspicious pile of dirt/timber/rocks, but which? Silvereyes did revert to reading previous logs, and soon was on the correct side of ? pile!! Time to stop for lunch, and just enjoy the weather and surrounding countryside with a slight tinge of green, tftc.
Don't think school buses run up this dirt track any more, in spite of the sign. Thanks to Coongoola's post on 28 March we located the cache at his co-ords. Nice place for lunch and a cuppa.
Thanx for the new series. All nice and easy to find and makes for a successful day of caching. Thanx Gazza!
Staying in Goulburn for two nights and today we decided to do the Taralga Trek and Taralga Trek Too caches. Many thanks to the CO/s for placing these caches and showing us around your area.
Staying in Goulburn for 2 days and decided to do this Trail out in the countryside. Due to the number of caches found a generic message is done for all. Thank you gazza959 for placing these caches in their respective locations. Found cache and signed log. TFTC

AngelG27, Tankengine and I decided to hit the trails near Canberra to pick up some numbers. It was an awesome team - TEs driving skills, AngelG27s food delights and I guess I was just there for my sparkling personality??? Anyway it was a great day out and I loved being with my friends.
Trails aren't my favourite way to cache, but doing it with friends makes it not so bad. I have to admit too that a lot of the caches on this trail were also a little different than just a mint tin or sistema under a rock and so for a powertrail this was a nice one.
All the caches were in good order and the coords were good enough to find the cache - unless otherwise mentioned. Tftc gazza959!!!
This cache took a fair bit of searching with GZ being slightly off of about 6mtrs and not in an area we thought it would have been in. Thankfully Tankengine had a sort of idea of where it could be, but I finally found as per the hint amongst the trees. The nearby Bus Sign is hilarious - very well positioned.

Cache 4836 on 10 Mar 2019.
What is not to love about a long weekend - an extra day to go caching! I have a goal to reach 5000 caches at the QBN mega, so a few extra cache trips are required. Power trails are not my favourite type of caching, but doing them with caching buddies makes them bearable! So Tankengine, dty73 and myself headed toward the Taralga series today for some numbers.
TE has most of them already so he was driving, and giving us such useful advice! We also picked up other caches along the way, well why not! All caches found in good order and according to the hint, unless otherwise indicated.
This cache: took 10 mins of searching!
Thanks gazza959 for the cache and the fun!

We completed the Taralga Trek yesterday before continuing on to the Wombeyan Caves, and so after having spent most of today exploring the Caves and then returning to Taralga this was our next geoaching trail to undertake. We took our time between the last cache and this one as we were lucky enough to see a beautiful Echidna! On finally arriving at Ground Zero we found the cache sooner than expected. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe

No luck today. Looked at suspicious piles of 'stumps'. Decided to 'stick' with it for a while. Eventually got the 'sh..s'. Better luck next time.

I worked through the Ss. That didn't help. When I found the cache only then did it make sense.
No luck. Suspicious pile of s.... is that sticks, stones, stumps or shit. As there is alot of wombat shit about.
Thanks
Thanks
This one took longer to find then we would have liked, nothing like cache blindness at night. At least we had pretty stars overhead while we searched.

It was tempting to fill the boot with wood here, for a bonfire tonight. But we ended up not camping, so a bonfire wasn't needed. Took a few minutes to spot, but in the end it was easy.

This would have been a great place for a bonfire! A huge pile of felled trees forma wall here. However, this is not a good situation when the clue for the cache seems to be indicating it is amongst sticks. I thought that searching for this cache might be like looking for a particular needle with a very small serial number engraved microscopically at its point among a mountain of other needles that look exactly the same but are distinguished from the needle you need by their own unique microscopic serial numbers.
Luckily, it wasn't like that. It took a few minutes to find, but Toriaz eventually spotted the particular SPOS that we needed. Thanks

This one took me ages! In the end the coordinates were only 7m out, but nearer to GZ was a STRANGE PILE OF STUMPS! - So I spent ages in there. Eventually, next to the cache I found what I can only describe as probably the grossest thing I have ever seen when caching (see pic) - no idea what it was - so was glad to quickly sign the log and get out of there! Thanks G959.
A planned power outage drove us out of the house and on the road in search of Hidden Creatures. We enjoyed this well planned set of caches. Many thanks for a pleasurable day.
An all electric house in winter with no electricity is no place to be, so we went caching. We had a lovely day wandering along a surprisingly busy road. Thank you for this series of well placed caches.
Out and about with Happy Uke again today to get some caches. We had Mizmaz along to help out along the way.
Thanks for this one.
Thanks for this one.
As I was driving home late last night from a very long and tiring day caching around Batemans Bay ticking off my 5000th milestone, got a text from HappyUke with an invite to join her and Finalf29 for a spontaneous cache run today. Possibly too tired to think sensibly but knowing they would do all the planning, driving and navigating, I readily agreed as the proposed PT numbers (plus a few others) would help with the mythical creatures challenge. Started the day up to Gryphon status and 40 smileys later I had the Dragon (with ten towards the last souvenir). HappyUke learnt a new acronym but with so many possibilities to match the clue… where to start!? Co-ords eventually out a few metres (here that could make a huge difference) but at least we were able to stay down-wind of the dead animal. Still not quite sure what it once was… possum, rabbit…??
A big day out with Mizmaz and Finalf29 was organised (last night) to knock off a few caches in the "Hidden Creatures" challenge. We had a fantastic day with lovely weather, great caches and wonderful company... I think we are all talked out now! Thanks to all the CO's. We got forty for the day.

A massive day was planned to clean up the area around Goulburn and do all of the Taralga trek. Started with a parkrun in Goulburn and then took the clockwise loop to Crookwell, Laggan, Taralga and back to Goulburn. Weather wasn't really on my side, cold and partly wet, but no soaking rain so I pushed through. Great caches and a good series with lots of different containers and hiding spots. I had a great day, thanks to all the cache owners for putting out the caches.

The Rats, steeba and Hoojar once again teamed up for another fun day of caching in the highlands. With our intended target being the Taralga Trek we made our way to Goulburn late on Saturday where we grabbed a few local caches before heading out to Peejar Dam where a very chilly night was spent under the stars. Sunday had us snaking our way around the Upper Lachalan area of Crrokwell and Taragla before heading back to Wollongong to complete our 24 hour adventure.
Thanks to all the CO's for your cache placement, they added to gtreat day out with the boys.

Out and about on a 24-hour spree with The Rats and Steeba. We headed down to Goulburn on Saturday night to grab a few of the local caches that we had not yet collected, and then out to Peejar to spend a cool night under the stars. Sunday morning we went into Crookwell for breakfast, before following the Trek series into Taralga, and back to Goulburn. Finally we headed for home via a few more caches in the Highlands.
I ended up with a touch over 100 caches in the 24 hours away from home (100 was my goal, as I work towards 10,000). Some excellent caches were found. Thanks to all of the caches owners for their efforts.
Cheers

Another little caching sojourn with The Rats and Hoojar- not quite a weekend away but with a night out. We started in the darkness in Goulburn before camping at Pejar, into Croowell in the morning then across to Taralga and back to Goulburn via the Taralga Trek. Some nice countryside! Then back to Goulburn and slowly made our way back via the highlands and a few more find.

OCW *Little Kitten* and *DustyJapserJet*. Arrived in Goulburn at midday and grabbed a bite to eat in order to sustain us for this afternoons trek, and off we went to Taralga, arriving 50 minutes later. I have had caching plans for these school holidays but Hubz told me it was going to rain - gaahhh - it hasn't till today, so I have got very little done. This morning I was in a real dither and really bothered about the weather and whether I would pack the tent and go to Yass, but it was all a major headache dampened by weather and having guests tomorrow afternoon - gaahhh ! Looking out the window to cold weather and dark clouds, I eventually got a bright idea and figured it would satisfy thy sullen soul. A trip to Taralga became the order of the day and stuff the weather. That was the best decision I have made all day [^] !!!! The weather was sunny, warm and just beautiful. Thy spirits were suitably lifted and a brilliant afternoon was had. [^] The movies tomorrow to see *Peter Rabbit* will top this weekend off nicely and I will be home to see our guests. Win, win.

OCW Stumble'sMate for an epic geocaching trip. As usual, our day was alot longer than anticipated but that's what you get when you geocache. Sorry for the delay in logging! TFTC all.
OCW StumbleTrip today. Our aim was to do the trip between Goulburn, Taralga, Laggan, Crookwell and back Goulburn. All up we attempted 67 caches of which 4 were DNF's. Time wise we took way longer than we had calculated but then we didn't really have a time limit! Thanks to the cache owners for placing all the caches we attempted today!
Now THATS as SPOS!!! Don't be fooled but!

Having done the Goulburn to Taralga leg last year we took the chance to do this next section whilst on the way to Katoomba. had to miss a few as we were in our Motorhome and parking can be tricky in a vehicle that size. TFTC.
Geocaching buddy StrangTrousers and I headed off for a bit of caching on what turned out to be a cold – dam cold and windy day. So good to finally get that number. The road has been long to get here. Today’s journey was a loop Taralga Trek series via Goulburn, Crookwell, Laggan and Taralga. The 1000th cache mentioned a rock – so apt with geocaching. A glass of something with bubbles in it to celebrate a lunch before the final push using the last hours of daylight. What a day! Loved every minute of it even with the wind and the cold. Big thank you to StrangTrousers for the company and hours of driving.

#3921 22nd for today
I joined CBRChic for a return to the Taralga Trek series via Goulburn, Crookwell, Laggan and Taralga. On the way home we took a detour via Currawang to grab a few caches out that way. CBRChic was keen to reach her 1000th find & today she smashed through that milestone before lunch and added a healthy bite into the next 1000. Glad I could help. We enjoyed an impromptu glass of sparkling white at a Taralga pub in celebration.
The weather this weekend has been pretty horrible. Today was no exception with bitterly cold gusty winds and occasional showers. Just a week ago it was hovering around 30C, but today the wind chill had us in wintery conditions.

It's been a while since the FFLL team have been able to do an assault together, we had a break in our calendar so we decided to arrange a geomission with Rapidlywild and clear out in and around Goulburn. We left Canberra at a decent hour and headed up the highway, the weather was a little cloudy along the way and the storm clouds seemed to follow us. So there was a few showery spots. As usual the day was fun and lots of laughs were had.
A quick run through the new placements. This series was enjoyable, and better to do in the daytime, and the passing showers kept us cool. There were a couple of places where the pull off was skinny for a big car, although we didn;t take nay unnecessary risks now that we were without a spare tyre. We had no real issues locating the hides, all signed and replaced.
Thanks for the series gazza959, and our apologies for the generic logs.
