Forgot to log this yesterday. Thanks organisers for a successful event and persevering in spite of the extreme heat. Thanks for thoughtful providing of sunscreen and water too. Hats off to Signal the Frog who was probably wishing for a sudden cool change that Melbourne is known for.

Found with nirgalagrin... now I have my own account.

14:00

ZombeeFish accompanied me to this barbecue, and I think she had a good time playing with kids and dogs, and introducing herself to other cachers.

Another tour de force by the wonderful GeocachingVictoria organisers... Lovely food, a great location, and good company who could ask for more?

But wait. There was more.

Signal!

A souvenir.

Oh, and 33 straight days with a smiley, so far.

Thanks GeocachingVictoria for another great event

26-Jan-18
Attended today while making our way to Warrnambool to visit my parents. Certainly a typical hot Australia Day and made the most of some nearby shade to have a quick chat and catch up with a few fellow cachers and also managed a snag in bread after signing the log book, thanks GeocachingVictoria for organising the event and putting on the barbie, great to meet Signal as well!

26-Jan-18
Attended this with the youngest Tarbit and it was pretty hot to be out in the direct sun for too long. We grabbed some food, found some shelter, had a play on the swings and of course chatted to a lot of familiar faces that attended. A great turn out on a public holiday and super organisation from the GV committee. Signed log and discovered some trackables. Thanks to Geocaching Victoria for the event and the awesome spread of food that was provided. Great to have one of these locally and looking forward to the Parkville event. Afterwards we headed off to find a couple of traditionals in the park that had caused me some trouble in the past.

26-Jan-18
An excellent event that was already well attended by the time we arrived. The BBQ was absolutely delicious, and it was a really great spot for a gathering. We spoke to some geocaching friends, had a go on the cooler parts of the playground and gave Signal a high five. This was a highlight for the geogirl, so thank you for donning the suit in uncomfortable conditions to make her day!
There was obviously a high amount of quality work put into the day, thank you to GeocachingVictoria and to the sponsors. Looking forward to another event soon.
Dropped 2 Trackables.

26-Jan-18
Had a fun time and awesome feed today. Thanks to Geocaching Victoria for their time and effort, and for cooking away in the hot sun. Thanks for the event.

26-Jan-18
A great turnout, despite the heat !
What an amazing effort by the organisers. Thank you so much for your hard work and organising the event. The food was amazing and despite the heat and cooking over the hot BBQ you did it with a smile. Sensational !
Thanks again Geocaching Victoria

26-Jan-18
I had been to a CITO in the morning and was grabbing a few caches on the way to the event. I was impressed with the effort and the dedication of the organisers and volunteers who were braving the heat to ensue that everyone had a good feed.

Unfortunately I could not stay long as we had family coming round for a BBQ of our own so after a quick chat with BernieH and plowfive I dropped off a couple of TBs and took my leave.

Thanks for organising!!

Today seemed to be event day, started at 6.15 in Mordialloc, . Then on to the CITO down the road, then another event in Northcote. Sprinkle that with a handful of random caches along the way. Thanks to the CO's

Great day for a BBQ, and great people to talk with makes it even better, had a chat with some very encouraging GeoCachers, met with "SIGNAL" and enjoyed the whole event, sadly the afternoon had to finish, and I had better say a big THANK YOU to the organizers, and thanks to the prize donors, one of which I was lucky enough to win

26-Jan-18

It was also great to get a photo with signal the frog.

A very enjoyable day was had by me, relatively close to home, great food (marinated chicken) and excellent company under the shade of some trees. Thank you to the organising team for all their work. I was even lucky enough to win a "Come and visit Parkville,Melbourne,Australia" pathtag. It was also good to enjoy Signal's company as he shared Australia with the geocaching world.

26-Jan-18
We might have got slightly burnt but it wouldn’t be Australia if you weren’t enjoying a BBQ with great mates in the scorching heat. With the fantastic turn out we were able to celebrate this important day in style as we chatted with so many friendly teams , old friends and new making this a very special day for us both as we enjoyed the yummy food and not forgetting having the opportunity to meet Signal

Thanks GeocachingVictoria for the great event for us and others to enjoy on Australia Day

26-Jan-18
Dropped in for a little while on the way home from appointment at Peter Mac.
Caught up with a few people before I had to leave.
Very hot great day
Thanks to all concerned.

Travelled here with Phetlern to enjoy the company the food the heat and to meet Signal and take a selfie of course. Thanks Geocaching Victoria for organising this A great way to celebrate this wonderful country of ours

26-Jan-18
A well attended and run BBQ here today. Nice to celebrate some day as Australia Day and even met signal the frog! And a Souvenir to boot.

26-Jan-18
Yep I was there. It was great to see so many people turn out. Over 70 team names in the log book is an excellent result. That and the amount of "attends" on all the other Australia Day events both on the day and over the weekend, right across the state just goes to show that the game of geocaching and the geocaching community in Victoria keeps going from strength to strength.

Thanks to all the other committee members (and committee member's significant others) for all the hard work that they also put in to make this event as good as it was.

I think we will have to do that again one day...

With so much media hype and controversy around "Australia Day" we could think of no better way than to spend time with so many like minded people who enjoy the world-wide fun, experienes and challenges of the geocaching game.

Our appreciation and thanks to GeocachingVictoria for organising an outstanding event.

26-Jan-18
Hey . . . . . hey . . . . . hey . . . . . Bunjil was there with Signal.

Thanks to the organizers for a great event - loved it.

26-Jan-18
Of course Mary & David were there. This was the second of our planned 6 Events this long weekend. This is an area we don't know at all. So much fun meeting special friends and trying to find some shade. What memories - dogs, skeleton, Day in black, hats, patriotism, food and cachers. Perfect. Shame we had to leave early for our next Event, and missed the arrival of Signal. Our thanks to GeocachingVictoria.

26-Jan-18
Yum I liked the snags

26-Jan-18
I really liked this geocachceing party my favourite part was meeting other geocaches and these three trakebels Ned Skely and a dog and we said Ned skely needed some more soseges and we meet signel.

26-Jan-18
It was cool meeting Signal!! The food was amazing! Thanks for organising another brilliant event!

26-Jan-18
What a great turnout to the event. Lovely to catch up with people I hadn't seen for a while, as well as meet new cachers. Food was melt in the mouth delicious, and it was terrific to get a photo with Signal. Thanks for organising.

26-Jan-18
Twas rather hot on this day of Australia.
So we just popped in for a photo with signal. Thanks for organising.

26-Jan-18
We were in Broadford to do the Mt Disappointment driving series and were planning to go home via Clever Monkeys event before I had to go and open up at work. Unfortunately we somehow messed up the start time and that would have cut things a bit fine so we came to this one on our way back and are very glad we did. We arrived to see many familiar smiling faces and were also able to catch up with teams we had not yet met, it’s great to put faces to names you have seen in log books and have a chat.

The weather was not the kindest (read as very hot) but everyone there made the most of what shade was around and had a fantastic time, the food was, as usual, excellent and a credit to the cooks working in such weather. Congratulations to the winners of the very generous prizes and a huge thank you to the organisers for all the hard work they put in to make this such a success.

Awesome day catching up with old friends and one new frog friend.
Cheers for the great event.

26-Jan-18
A day to hangout with the family. With no plans made.
An event right next to a playground. One could chat while the others played.
It was great to see people who we've not seen for a while.
Thanks for the event Geocaching Victoria.

26-Jan-18
Thank you for a great event with lots of prizes, food, Geocacher’s and of course, the Australian heat! I’m so impressed that I was able to take a photo with Signal the Frog. This is possible now as I’ve head some rumours about sisi Geocacher’s. I don’t like photos though. So I made a special selfi mask to solve all my issues. I’ve uploaded a photo of signal and I.

26-Jan-18
Attended a great event organised by a very active group. A beautiful venue with plenty of scrumptious food, perfect weather and a social group of geocachers. Thanks a lot.

26-Jan-18
Typical stinkin f-ing hot day here in Melbourne. Great to grab a snag and have a yack. Thanks for hosting

26-Jan-18
#13900. What a large group gathered to celebrate Australia Day. This is a really lovely park as I discovered when I took the dogs for a walk to relieve their boredom. It was fun to have my lucky number drawn out so that I am now the proud owner of 5 more pathtags, one of them being for the Parkville Event I believe. Made a quick getaway after the formalities as it was so hot and we still had a long way to go.

Thanks Geocaching Victoria

Thanks Geocaching Victoria for putting on a great event. Thanks also to all who helped with the cooking of the delicious bbq. Not 'Straya day without a bbq, heat, flies and Signal. He must have struggled being out of the water. But I hear he may make an appearance tomorrow down on the Bellarine.

Once again thanks everyone for a great day.

26-Jan-18
Escaped from work early enough to make it to this excellent Australia Day event.
I was a bit peckish when we arrived, but not when we left. Great food very well cooked and presented - thanks to all the cooks.
Great to see old friends (and some not so old Smile), and meet new ones.
Thanks for the organization Geocaching Victoria.

12:00 - 14:00, 26 January 2018. #1212.

I hadn't planned to stay for the whole two hours, but the food and company were too good, there were faces to put to caching names, TBs to discover and there was a frog to meet Smile (as well as a couple of caches to find). I had a great time. Not to mention being my first two cache event day.

Thanks for a great event GV.
