I glanced at the GZ of this cache on the way up the mountain, but figured that it would probably be easier to grab on the way down given a rather convenient pull off area being located on the correct side of the road.Sure enough, on the way down, it was a far bit easier!Found my way up the incline (which probably wasn't my brightest idea but it's fineee) and sure enough soon the tree in the spoiler photo presented itself and a pleasingly large container presented itself!Log signed, rock flipped to cover the plastic up and off to the next cache! Thanks for placing this cache Aykayem! Very nice views nearby as well, as would be expected from the cache name lol.
Quick find on the way back up the hill after a loop around the back with Skip. TFTC
Good looking cache hereThanks CO for the placement, we really enjoyed the views.Log only 50% full so this cache has many more months of life span ahead of it
Space for a view and plenty of space to sign the log! Very underrated hill this one, so much fun to be had - caching and otherwise. Up here with Baristayan, the geo nephew, the geo sister in law and the geo in laws. Superb morning, and woulda been rude not to grab this on the way downthanks!
Also space for a TB so I left one here! And yes the views wern't too bad either.
Thanks indeed

A trip to ACT with Chewinprickles - Day three with Captain Tomato.
We started by finishing up a few we had skipped yesterday then went over to Coombs and Mt Stromlo.
A lovely day for caching.
I think this is the first regular container we have done since coming to the ACT!
Thanks, Robmc.

Catching up with late logsWe joined forces with Alansee, maccamob, McLookers, micaparamedic, moonb1, Muzza, Pprass and Rabbito to try our luck at a few Adventure Labs and any thing else that was close by.We were doing the nearby power trail and we weren't going to leave any nearby caches that weren't involved in it. We really enjoyed the break from the slog of doing these caches. Most of these were found very quickly which helps when you have this many eyes looking and our name has been added to each log.We apologies for the generic log but it was quite awhile back and we did so many on that trip that our old brains can't remember them individually. To save room in the log we signed as Vic1Thanks for the cache.
Found with Moonb1, McLookers, Maccamob, Muzza, Pprass, Team Crackers, Rabbitto et al on a day caching in the Canberra Area.
We found this cache on Day 2 of our Vic1 Canberra Run in company of Muzza, McLookers, Micaparamedic, Alansee, Moonb1, Maccamob, Team Crackers and Pprass. Today was our Uriarra and Cotter Loop. Thanks from D B-A
Second day of group caching in Canberra. All caches signed as Vic1. Found in a large group consisting of McLookers, Micaparamedic, Alansee, Moonb1, Rabbitto, Team Crackers and Pprass.
Thanks to Aykayem for the cache.

Found at 1:42 PM in the company of the Vic 1 team
Alansee worked out a route for us to do today which included some very challenging AL's and we ended up at an event where the locals were to meet us! A big day that showed the beauty of the ACT and surrounds after the fog finally lifted! Most of the caches were way under rated though - nearly all of them were just a D/T of 1.5/1.5 no matter how hard they were to get to or find them - not very imaginitive in that sense.
Thanks to Aykayem

Another quick find while up on Mt Stromlo. I’m visiting from Perth. Thank you for the cache.
Find #6125
Always fun to be careering around the countryside in the eTOTT with the sun shining on my back and the wind clearing out the cobwebs.
There was a time when I thought drivebys were great, now I think cyclebys are the best, so long as I don't have to leave it too far out sight

I'm giving a favorite point because 1) it really is a good view 2) the CO's philosophy seems to want to help find the cache, rather than show how much smarter they are. TftC.
A pleasant, albeit hot walk around the top of Mount Stromlo on the first day of the year.
We are staying close by, and it was great to be up early before the heat became too much.
A Quick walk up to GZ, and we soon had to log signed.
Thanks aykayem

While Domsky were visiting Canberra we took time out to spend time with them. On this fine day we took the opportunity to go for a lovely walk together along with the geopup and collected some caches. Thank you to all the COs who placed great caches around this area!
Some very impressive rock stacking here. I'm wondering if your day job is a stone mason.
Nice work. Thanks for the cache.

Came and checked this on my way past yesterday - The cache was fine, but there seems to be a bit of damage happening to the embankment beside it, and the place where people can park. I was going to edit the listing telling people to go around to the easy way, and wondering what Geocacher, in a hurry for a smiley, ever does that? ... Then I found the perfect spot to move it to, while wandering around looking at plants. So now it is in a nicer spot, a bit more out of sight of the road, and not right next to the embankment that everyone keeps scrambling up - creating "cacher trails" and causing erosion ... hopefully this location will help encourage people to walk up the way that won't cause as much damage (to the environment, or themselves - lol)

I have just moved this to a slightly different location - not very far, but it might be a bit hard to find with only the listed coordinates - lol
I will update coordinates/edit listing/explain why I moved it when I get home later this evening

Went up here with the bike, checked for a geocache and there was this one only 150m away. Beautiful, love to combine two hobbies. Tftc
What's a good way to spend Xmas? Mountain biking! I met a mate earlyish and we did one of the lower level SFP loops going out to the N end of the park & back before he had to head home. A cache beckoned, so I extended my ride with an ascent to near GZ, where I ducked off the trail & made a quick find. No one else had signed on Xmas day. Once the log was signed, I made my way to Skyline/Luge for a fast descent and a ride home.
Had a little DNF down the road....Stromlo is proving to best me time and time again! Glad to make an easier find here, and with views too! TFTC!
A bit of exploring around Mt stromlo this morning. Great fun and interesting area.

The Omnia Friday Ramble explored Mt Stromlo today which provided the opportunity to seek out some geocaches, of which I located nine. This one was a straightforward find, being in an obvious spot on the coordinates. Thank you Aykayem for installing and maintaining this cache.
Bringing Pebbles to training and doing another walk on Mt. Stromolo. Yes it was closed on top (paranoid ANU) but could park at the gates and walk in the mountain side to find some caches anyhow, good enough for the short time I had.
This was my second cache I walked into for, a nice find at GZ after walking the empty street.
Nice cache, all in good order.
Thank you Aykayem for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

I have decided to only go out every couple of days now. I chose one cache to do and Mt Stromlo has a few days worth of caches to keep me coming back.
The road to the top is closed, but for the time being the grass behind the house is open, so I headed up to visit this cache. It is very peaceful along here when there are no cars about.
Thanks for the cache Aykayem

Last cache of the day for me. A few trads and a lab cache were what I found. It was very cold and I didn't see too many people until I was walking back to the car on the eastern side where there was quite a lot of people MTB'ing
Thanks Aykayem

I needed some exercise and to get out into the fresh air, so I asked Tankengine if he would like to join me on a wander around the area. He graciously accepted and we so we met at the car park just before the boom gates and walked up from there. We got a number of caches and the AL I have been looking forward to doing too.
This cache: a nice straight forward find without any issues. Nice spot for a cache too. Tftc Aykayem!!!

With FFLL #2 muggle sister in town we were out and about doing the tourist thing, so as a bonus we were able to pick up some caches along the way as well.
Heading back down the hill after checking out the views and telescopes we decided to stop for a few drive by caches on the way down.
Quick find at this one before moving on.
Thanks for the hide Aykayem.

We found this cache without any problem. Co-ords were good and parking was available nearby. The log had two more names noted on it before all was hidden again where it had been found. Thank you to Aykayem for placing this cache, as we enjoyed the country drive and the scenery and views long the way.
So the caching continues while getting around the Canberra area with goingplaces2. We found a variety of caches today and enjoyed each of them, including this one. Thanks to each CO for being a part of our day.
Interesting spot, my old knees didn't like the scramble up the embankment. Thanks Aykayem
#5357 Found while doing the great little series of geocaches using unique spacecraft-themed containers. Very timely too given the 50th anniversary of the moon landings. Quiet pleasant up here today, not too many muggles about, just a few mad cyclists. Great views from here too.
Thanks Aykaem
Thanks Aykaem
On the countdown to 4000 and what better time at the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. Left work early to do this. TFTC
It was time for lunch and this was a bit too close to the 'tucker-run' to pass by so I was able to cajole TheSquire into a stop for a look. Thankfully the short trek to GZ soon had me with the stash in hand at 12:20 and we were back on our way for some munchies. But what a great view.
TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks Aykayem.

After a morning event in Canberra, we set off on a lovely tourist drive out to the mountains this afternoon. Yes definitely fantastic views from Stromlo. TFTC Aykayem.
Hi there Aykayem. An easy day today - camped at the oval in Queenbeayan for the Mega event. Today we just went Geo-Touring, with no-where in particular in mind. We managed 30 finds with only 1 DNF, so it was a good day for us. This container and log are in good condition - SL. Thanks to Aykayem for this cache - our find #6535.
Didn’t think I was stupid enough to tackle this one in these shoes but it turns out I am. Startled a disbelieving mob of Roos but otherwise it was a hassle free find. Worth getting as it was a fruitless deviation after getting lost trying to find some sights for the I Love Canberra Wherigo.
After the main objective of our trip to Stromlo was converted to a smiley, bushwalkinggirl & I enjoyed a stuttering drive back dish the hill collecting caches on the way.
Cache was found quickly & in good order. TFTC.

Today, I had another day off work so Bobl27 and I headed towards Mt Stromlo today to find some caches well over due. Despite being a cool day in the shade, it was a bit warmer in the sun! Some caches were a bit trickier than others to find, but managed to find all but one we looked for. Nine caches in total for the day, but still a few to come back and look for another day.
This cache: I made the easy find on this one. Cache was open and not covered so I left it slightly better hidden than how I found it.
Thanks Aykayem for the cache and the fun!

A spot of caching on Mt Stromlo this afternoon with AngelG27. It was hotter in the sun than the temperature said! Some caches were a bit tricky. TFTC
Needed a few caches today so headed early afternoon to avoid to soon to arrive storms. Parked across the road, scrambled up the embankment and soon had the cache in hand. Log was signed all was good.
Thanks Aykayem…..cache in good condition.

Great view up here for sure. I hear a jackhammer in the distance which is a little spoiler. Tftc.
Found with nissan 65 . Drove up after work last night. Early start after breakfast and coffee. Thankyou for the cache.
Recognised a nice little, well presented, packet of TravelGran's treasures from a couple of weeks ago. Worth a visit. Had to disturb a couple of roos having their midday rest to get to this one but no problems.
A great view from here. Us blowins are amazed at how big Canberra has become.
Joining forces with endeavour3 made this cache find a lot of fun. The cache was cached and we move on with a big smile!
Thanks to Aykayem and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!

Watawieh from Norfolk Island South Pacific. Today in conjunction with TeamAstro, was a caching in space day. We started at Orroral Valley Tracking Staton, then the Canberra Deep Space Facility at Tidbinbilla, and then up to Mt Stromlo, before finishing at the Canberra Caching Constellations event. TFTC
Found with geo grand kid on a cloudy day, first time grandchild been on Mt Stromlo, really enjoyed the views, and the walk, she is really happy when she finds easily, we left a a little treasure.
What a lovely day to be out and around decide to head here and find some caches, found this easy and placed back. TFTC Aykayem
A totally beautiful day, just before the official start of Spring and a caching walk beckoned. I was keen on finding somewhere with a few caches, but more importantly nice views. Mt Stromlo emerged as the perfect option, leaving with a great day of varied walking, plenty of exercise and beauty, and a set of caches.
Sorry for what will be mostly generic logs here. TFTC

A good size cache to leave the "Beige, of a different Color" geocoin!
Thanks again Aykayem

Was awesome to see a new regular sized container out here today! The last one on the mountain before heading back down towards the suburbs.
Did a quick little u-turn and parked in the big gravel pull off area. Crossed the road and scrambled up the little hill. A great location for a cache, ticks all the boxes!
It was a quick find but well covered and a suitable container
Thanks Aykayem for the cache! Always love coming up here
