Find number 10297 at 2:04:12 pm on Wednesday the 23 February 2022
Had to go down south to look at some stuff so decided to grab some caches whilst in the area, these ones on the way back north again.
Approaching from the bottom I grabbed a couple of these a long time ago and DNF one that I need to redress. This time I came in from above.
Looked in all the same spots I did last time and still couldn't find it, expanded my search and still couldn't find it. I came back to where my iPhone said the prize should be and found it buried deep in the long grass just a smidgeon to the right and very hard too see.
Yeah Smile, DNF redressed...
The walk back up the hill on this stinking hot afternoon sun almost killed me...

This was one of the most frustrating searches I've experienced so far. Mostly because the GPS was mocking me. Just mocking me. Spent so long looking in every spot I could think of but to no avail. My plan to complete the whole series came unstuck here.

06-Jul-19
So disappointed that I logged a Find instead of a DNF. Will have to delete previous log.

My weekly day off, caching day, but not for a long while now, time to get back into it a bit. decided to head down this way to stretch my legs.
Searched and searched and searched but this one was just not coming to me. I hope it hasn't been washed away in the rain.

Making my way up the hill, the track was starting to appear less used along here. The path was still visible but it is definitely more overgrown here. I walked past the container, but when I turned around there it was behind me.

Thanks to S_38 for placing this cache.

This end of the track is definitely easier than the other end hopefully I got all the clues correct now on to the final cache

Find #4621

An early morning caching run near to a spot where I have cached before. Got here just after 6.30am and there was ample daylight to work with. Concentrated on the Riding my Pony series and tried a few others nearby. This is lovely area to visit with the green grass and the rolling hills on a nice mild morning. I parked at the western end of this trail so was heading uphill by this stage. I must admit this one caused me a bit of grief. I couldn’t find it in a few likely spots, widened the search area, pulled out my phone to compare against the GPS. Nothing wrong with the coordinates though, as I had simply overlooked it and eventually made the find. My third find of nine on a pleasant morning when I timed it right to avoid the showers that swept in a little later. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache and this series S_38.

11-Sep-18
This one took a little longer to locate. I'm not sure why. It;s was a pretty standard type of hide.
Thanks for these caches S_38.

*9 Sep 2018, Found @7:50 am, Find # 2030.*

With a notification of the final in this series coming through last night and with no ftf this morning I decided to head out. First I had to work my way through this series. This was the second one I found and it was another quick find.

Well, what can I say other than I have been very very inactive that last couple of months couple that with some lack of logging from the past couple of geocaching days it equates to me not having done anything at all really....... but I digress. So today I woke up a little early to e sure that both the food and some caches could be found before I head off to work tonight. Today was a rather successful day with many finds. I do apologize for the generic log but am rather mentally fried after my third-year uni exams. Thx for the cache and the lovely day.

Find #871

Look it was only going to be 1 …….. that turned into a 3. Yes …… wet feet but I love a day like this without wind and I'm glad I stopped to do it. Great stop for geocaching, reminded me a bit of Red Hill but it was beginning to get a bit slippery and I had to play it safe. If I fell and did my ankle or knee, it would be a bit tricky and I figured I might be able to attack the ones I haven't done, from the other side, seeing there was a little steeper hill to get up and the idea of the warm car was calling me. Great area, really like the parking and numerous spots to hide up here. Well done. Look forward to returning.

*10 Jun 2018, Found @ 3:48 pm, Find # 7948.*

After attending the 3am WWFM event in Officer and then spending a few hours at Lysterfield finding a night cache and now the day was just beginning so off I went in search of so more caches that I have not found, this was one of them.

I was certainly well on my way back to the car now and I nearly forgot and missed this one but managed to look at the GPSr at the right time, I had to take a few steps back and there was the cache, the log was signed and it was now time to head back to the car.

**Thanks to S_38 for placing this cache.**

Was in the area tonight dropping off a trailer to a friends and took the long way home. Took me three hours longer than usual, oops! But didn’t get into too much trouble. Some great little spots in the area, love exploring this part of the burbs, it’s just great. TFTC

16-Feb-18
Took a while to find this one. Saw some roos in the paddock next to the track.

Last find of the day as I lost the track towards the next cache so turned back to the car.

Thanks S_38

Since moving from New Zealand I have been enjoying the area, exploring and finding caches.
So far I’ve knocked off 4 of the states. VIC, SA, NSW and A.C.T
No two areas are the same here and almost every place I go is stunning. The beauty of caching is that it takes you to so many places you would never usually find.
Thank you to all the cachers out there for hiding and maintaining their caches. Especially to those who put so much effort into creating unique and fun hides.
The caches I’ve found in Australia so far have for the most part all been in great condition. Keep up the good work.

07-Feb-18
That was harder to find than it should have been. An easy find but I was looking in all the wrong places. Should've tackled this from the 'Walk' end, not the 'Gallop' end as the hill climb back was tough on a 35 degree day. I took to the paddock to make it a tad easier. Lucky the Geokids were at school and daycare.

03-Feb-18
At this one I realised that the cache had code solutions to some puzzle, although it’s not quite clear which cache needs them. I missed the last one so might have to go back anyway. I was so exhausted when I got within another rest before searching for the cache. Luckily it was found easily and I could easily find. Nice to be finally on a wider defined tracks and not pushing through reeds and thistles.

01-Feb-18
No problem locating this little box, signed the log and was off to the next. I had just replaced this one when the horse and rider, mentioned in the previous log, came trotting up the track. We smiled and she was gone. As I moved up the track after her I was amazed at how the terrain was changing and wondered how she had managed to get through the overgrown track. Thanks S_38

01-Feb-18
On my way back to the car, I came across these two enjoying the season’s bounty. They weren’t bother by me so I took the opportunity for a photo.

21-Jan-18
This was the 3rd and final of the 4 that we found in your trail today. The other one will need a different vantage as it's too overgrown abotu 200m up from this cache (and I do mean UP)!

This one was pretty thorny and took a toll on the oldest of the two siblings. Blood thirsy plants!

Out on another caching run. Out for 6 hours today for a total of 12 finds and 1 DNF.
Some interesting spots. However, 1 leech and 2 inch-ant bites, along with the requisite number of grass cuts, thorns and associated stick-bites made it a memorable experience once we hit the showers!

TFTC, S_38

21-Jan-18
This was cache # 1 of 1 for today. Oh yeah, and 0 DNF.

Out with Fore! and Raspberry Moo and Raspberry Chicken - what a nice (but hot and humid) day out. Just us and the leeches and ticks and horse flies!

TFTC, S_38

Eeeeekkkkk thorns! Ooohhhh lizard! Lots of things make this cache a fun find.

The previous cache released here we discovered it from the top of the trail. I certainly wasn't going to do that again for this cache, especially with my car saying it was 40 degrees Celsius.

Parked at the bottom of the trail and strolled along staying in the shade as much as possible. Looks like all the animals and insects had the same idea because there was almost none in evidence today.

With the gps saying another 10 meters I got to the tree with a likely looking hiding place, where my son had a quick peek on the weekend. Was close to finding this one before it was published.

Followed the gps and found the unopened cache at 4.30 pm. Now back to the car, then dinner and sport in this heat. Not looking forward to that.

Thanks for the cache S_38
