Even staff at the resort are saying this one is gone, Couran Cove have told me they are no longer maintaining their caches.
Sad that this has ended! We had a look in the hopes that it was still there... seems like it wasn't. Frustrating, given I just upgraded to Premium for it! If it's been removed, how about remove it from the map as a courtesy!
Grub62 and I are holidaying nearby in the Gold Coast & we met up with Smiley1982 as a bit of a family geocaching get together. We were are signing as S G B for short to save on log space and for ease of writing. We hunted around GZ for quite some time to no avail even after hints from previous logs. Later on we went on a 4 wheel drive tour of the island and our tour guide/driver (Paul who was extremely good and knowledgable on the island and also the caches) who brought us back to this location and he pointed out the place it should have been and even told us the container type. But it seems this cache has been muggled. TFTC.
We were on an Adventure - Bunadoorian, Smiley1982 and myself - we headed over to South Stradbroke Island to find the GeoTour caches ( well those we could get to and still available). The ones closest to the resort we walked to with mixed results. We were able to look for a couple of the further away ones with the help of Paul our very informative , friendly and 4WD tour driver. This was the first cache we had found on the island and my first in Queensland! TFTC CouranCove It is very sad that the caches aren't being maintained very well. This was 3 of 5 DNF's for the day both on and off the island. We searched long and hard and even Paul tried to find with us but this has gone MIA. Today was full of swatting Mossies even though we had repellent on.
Jack and I headed out to find this one whilst everyone went to book the VR activity (or rather go and enjoy the air con). I spotted the cache, Jack spotted a kangaroo. Jack won.
Thanks!!

#3 of 5 finds on South Stradbroke this trip. Sailing north from Coomera to Newport over 5 days. Took a few wrong tracks on the way to this one, finally found it off into the bush amongst the further away cabins. The Alcheringa trail could do with some more signage!
Nice stripey container found by Astrokatz first this time.

Went for a ride today. Decoded to stop for a drink and went for a bot of a bush walk. After about 15 we decided to move on.
Dora the Explorer! and I have been paddling southward down the island and grabbing caches on the way.
This cache was found easy enough. Although some distance away from the posted coordinates.
It was nice to have a break from paddling whilst trying to find the caches in this area.

Quick and easy find. Co ordinaries out by 20m.
We completed the fish series and traditionals around South Moreton Bay Island all by Kayak and walking. We stopped to camp overnight. Was a very enjoyable adventure using sit on top kayaks and hammock tents.
On day 1 we completed in this order, one of the caches may be out of order. We used two cars. One was parked at Jacobs Well and the other at Paradise Point tomsave back tracking. We had a very early start leaving Jacobs Well with the high tide.
Fish and Cache series, 16, 23, 19, 20, 22, Crusoe House Boat, 21, 18, 17, Jumpinpin Passage, Fish Cache Series 24, 3, 2, 1, 5, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 2 Goats in a Boat Fish Series 12.
Day 2
Camped overnight near Fish Series 11.
Fish and Cache Series 11, 57 km from Mexican, Fish and Cache Series 13, 14, 15, Dux's Hut, The Sand Dunes, Tipplers, (we had a break here and bought breakfast from the shops here). As the Sun Sets, Wallaby Lawn, Step Back in Time, The Bora Ring, Easy for Some, Minbalup, and Canoe Tree. We then paddled from here back to Paradise Point.
The adventure was fairly straigt forward, saw lots of sting rays, so make sure you have foot wear on when pushing kayaks across the mud flats which we had to do on afew occasions. I even had a fish decide to join me in the kayak. I quickly put him straigt back into he water. We were both quite exhausted on the final leg back to Paradise Point as we were going against the tide.
All in all was a fun adventure and I would recommend doing it by kayak over two days.

Our first find. What a fun family activity to get outdoors together! Thanks!
Number 3 on geo tour with fourtrikiseekers. About 10 m away from where the gps said, in the obvious area. TFTC

Friday. Second cache for today. After leaving my power pack at home, and having one of “those days where anything that can go wrong – will”, I was pleased to come across this cache rather quickly. Found it upside-down, but the log was dry and so was signed and replaced right way up. Possibly some of the younger folk here on school holidays have been picking up the caches for the treasure hunt and are leaving them around / upside-down, as I was to find with this cache and most of the others for the Couran Cove geotour. Lovely area here.
This was the 2nd of 10 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***CouranCove***, for showing us this place.

We saw it straight away it was pretty easy

I've been eyeing up the GeoTour on this island since it was first published. After several phone calls I decided to bring Jess over for a few nights, after she'd finished her exams and before the school holiday rush.
We checked into our waterview room (nice!) and set off for a wander around the nearby areas. Wandering around a bunch of little trails felt a little lost but then hello, this is GZ.
Thanks for the cache, CouranCove! [:-)]

Looks like someone has found this one, it has some colourful art in the log.

After we walked back up to the resort area we read the train timetable and damn, it isn’t coming for quite some time yet, looks like we are walking back with the shoes that feel like sand paper, oh wait a minute, thongs are in the backpack. A quick change of shoes and it now felt like we were walking on pillows of clouds.
We walked along the pathways and passed the convenience store, good to know for the future if we ever need it. Arriving close to GZ we headed off path, Mr 4ando was reading the sign while I was wondering why he wasn’t picking up the cache. After a while I said ‘Are you going to pick it up?’ and he goes ‘Where is it?, ‘Right in front of your eyeballs!’, ‘That can’t be it!’ but it was.
Added our name and took the code word, now it is time to head to the poolside bar for lunch and a cool beverage.

My GPSr had a moment here, on of two today. I was happily pedaling along the road and it got to 8m, so I stopped. By the time I had parked my bike it was showing 34m. Not too far at least.
A very short wander in to the bush for this one. I have been to Bora rings before, but it is always good to be reminded of this country's heritage. A new container for me. I was a bit hesitant with this one, but a good poke with a long stick made sure it was what i thought.

Its lovely to see First Nation history being celebrated as part of this geotour we stopped to read all the signs and apprciate the history before moving on to the next cache TFTC.
It wasn’t far from the last cache we just found. A quick find here. And a few minutes to take in the history of the area.
Thank you for bringing us here CouranCove and TFTC

Another great piece of history on the island and who would have thought something like this would have survived. It's pretty crazy to think of the rituals or ceremonies that would have once been preformed here.
Coolumroo hit the nail on the head nice and quick again. Clue collected, log signed and we were off.
Thanx for another history lesson and cache CC.

Out and about with monkey maker and CoolumRoo having a go at the caches on South Straddy. We started at the top end and made our way south to Couran Cove.
We were a little unsure how we would fare at these GeoTour caches but we had a clean sweep of all the caches to be First To GeoTour getting our names in all the CouranCove caches. All the secret word/phrases were noted on our passbooks and our SouthStraddy Geocoin applications are in the mail.
We had a "Perfect Day" caching out on the water today.
If anyone wants to know anything else about our shenanigans, I can't tell because,
"What happens on tour, stays on tour".

There is some signage to help locate this one.
Interesting read, even though Ive heard lots about the bora rings at Kippa Ring.
Ive heard stories about how young aboriginal men used to ascend to menhood at these bora/initiation rings...but thats for other discussions elsewhere.
Cheers CouranCove

South Straddie Tipplers Trek - 2 days of paddling and caching fun with JaffaJ, Carlos the Jackal and geohubby Rob
We continued on our South Straddie GeoTour and Geohubby suggested that we try for the caches closest to Couran Cove. We only had about an hour left of caching time, because we also had to walk the 3 km back to Tipplers. So we better get looking, LOL! This one took us way too long to find. Both the phone and the GPS had us at least 10 m away, so we reread some logs, did a face slap and picked up the cache - in the most obvious spot of course. TFTC CouranCove
