Today i dropped my husband and his good friend at the Gympie races and headed off to collect some smileys. It ended up a great drive around this beautiful country side. All up i found 20 caches over 4 hours and travelled down some interesting roads. Some of the roads were so narrow i wondered what i would do if a car came the opposite way. What a great day to be a geocacherAt GZ it was a little tricky to find a park as the roads are soooooo narrow but i found one not far away and then found a way up and looked around and around and was going to give up but i gave it one more look actually scratching around and i felt it way down and under leaves. The container is broken but the log book is safe in it. Thanks youngoldfella for all the fun
youngoldfella I found your cache Golden Hills Road on 9/4/2024, 5:10PM. This is my find 1 and find # 21 today. Took a bit of time to locate as the area has overgrown. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
After spending the night in town and dining out at the local pub it was time to get out and do colorectal the local area. I am working on a local challenge at home that requires cache numbers in Local government areas and so I need another 80 or so in the Gympie area. This area is rich with caches so off I go. Arriving at ground zero I found a safe place to park the geowagon and off I go. I quickly found ground zero and located the cache. After extracting the log and making my mark I quickly returned to the geo wagon in search of my next adventure.A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available to be found.Cheers
Tftc Sweet-Sour, expecting to get to
38 degrees today, so an early morning adventure to collect a few caches and see a bit of countryside
Unexpected waterfall.very pretty drive

Great views! There was even a small waterfall across the road. Thanks for the hide!
We are having a great drive in the area today so called up to this cache which was missing last time we were here. Log signed and replaced as found. Good to turn a blue into a smiley. Thanks Sweet-Sour!
Headed north to Widgee and surrounding area today to grab a few caches. I enjoyed the drive along great country roads and forestry trails and visited a few great lookouts along the way.
I failed on this one on myn last visit but saw that the CO had done a quick job of maintenance so today after parking nearby I was soon at GZ for a quick find. Hard to miss that one!
Once the log was signed all was returned as found.
I took the pathtag too.[^]

Had nothing to do this afternoon and having prepared a couple of containers as replacements.
This was one those that required a replacement cache.

I gather that this one is missing. Have a replacement ready to go, ill get there in the next few days.
Like those before me I ventured up to GZ and found the spot empty. It was then that I decided to check previous logs
Might need a check by the CO.
Might need a check by the CO.
Out for a day of caching fun with Mr Curious Quest. We looked where the hint indicated, but, like previous cachers, had no luck. Perhaps a CO check is in order.
We were not able to find this today. There appeared to have been a bit of a washout around the tree we had a look below and did not find a container.
I'm visiting Dad (aka Sweet&Sour) he stays in the ute as I find and check his Caches

Our last day of caching in Kilkivan. Today we headed out to Widgee and Glastonbury. Another great day, we found all the caches that we looked for. They were all good sized containers which made finding them easy.

Had the opportunity to go caching with Wazza9 and Nana Nel and took it. We had been wanting to do the river walk series for a while plus others around the hinterland of Gympie. Such pretty country side. We enjoyed our day of caching. Thanks for hiding this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.

A great day spent with great people talking, walking, driving and looking into spots many people would not see.

On our way home after spending a great weekend in Kilkivan finding some caches. What some beautiful scenery around this cache - wasn't sure whether the road went through but luckily it did. TFTC Sweet-Sour
Kilkivan Cache-up stay Day 2:
After an early start thanks to some squawking magpies, it was a drive up Mudlo followed by a meander through Woolooga, Miva, and Gunalda before heading south and visiting Lower Wonga, Glastonbury and Brooyar Forests and then Widgee before returning to home base.
A variety of great caches were found along the way, plenty of wildlife spotted and some amazing rural views enjoyed along the way.
Came over the hill and enjoyed some great views of the valley. Container was easy to find after a short scramble.

Found on Sunday 30 Dec. 2018 at10:34 making #6,009.
Thanks for the experience **Sweet-Sour**

Tftc and exposure to another lovely location this town with a bubbling brook! With lcoll112 coming to the end of a great day of caching.
Out with Geopartner exploring these roads.
A quad bike passes.
Next comes a herd of cows and calves followed by the farmer on a horse.
I think he passed very close to the cache we are yet to find.
We headed in and soon the cache was found, right where we thought.
Signed the log and returned to where we found it.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks Sweet-Sour All good with this cache

We have set up camp at Chatsworth Park. Todays trip to us out away from the hustle & Bustle of town.
We drove along many winding rural roads. Spttings some of the local animal life. A very pleasant morning out finding many large containers which is quiet unusual nowdays.
A good variety of locations & caches found.
Thanks for placing this cache Sweet-Sour

Doing the rounds today being Saturday of the Widgee July Event with teamDFL. Another cache found and ticked off the list. Mooed at the cows as we drove past, said hello to some close ones, found a little bit of a verge to park the truck on and bounded across the road and up the cow track to the little trees. I am glad I had a passenger to keep an eye on the gps while I kept an eye on the road, made caching along here a lot easier than if I was on my own..signed the log looked for any fruit replaced the cache..TFTC sweet-sour...NEXT
Not much parking space out here, but then there is not much traffic either. Enough room to squeeze by if needed.
We followed the cow trails to this one.

Drove up from Canberra, for a much needed holiday staying with my parents in Caloundra ... Up here for a few weeks (Christmas, and most of January
My parents didn't have any plans for this weekend/NYE so I figured I would come up for the Geocaching weekend at Widgee ... glad I did - 3 days of fun!
After arriving here yesterday evening, and staying up way too late, I was woken up by the daylight (Sunrise is way earlier than it happens where I come from - lol) I had breakfast and a chat with everyone, and jumped into the powellbruce Geomobile with Sweet-Sour and youngoldfella, and headed for the hills for an adventure
We found the cache they were going up the hill for, and 3 more they stopped for on the way down, and a few more we were going past down the bottom (for me to find, and the CO to check) then we started working our way through the Saturday list of Sweet-Sour's caches he had hidden for the event, and then, because the Sunday list was also published early, we went and found most of those as well - the most first to finds I have ever got in one day - lol
TFTC - and another joint FTF
