Travelled up to Gympie very early this morning for a redemption parkrun at Victory Heights Trail. What a tough little course. It was a last minute decision the night before but turned out to be fabulous for caching purposes. I am trying to get to 5000 traditional finds before the first of November and still needed 29.So whats a cacher to do but find a long meandering way around to pick up some numbers. The hubby and I had a delightful morning travelling the countryside - these caches were also great as they were mostly regulars and in the exact spot you think they would be. We saw some wildlife included a very close encounter as I poked my head around a large tree and woke a dozing hare from its nap and it bolted so fast across the road. Also had a close encounter with another cacher as we pulled into to our last cache and saw a car parked right were we wanted to be. I thought I recognised the driver and it was only when they got out I was sure. Teamed up to find the cache before they continued along were we had just been.A lovely morning and a big thanks to your contribution of it with well maintained caches
Geodisc518 found after I was busy searching a suspicious tree. Found a cool Sri Lankan coin which I'll give to one of my patients whom was born in Sri Lanka.
Sweet-Sour I found your cache Kewins Road on 9/4/2024, 4:05PM. This is my find 6531 and find # 16 today. Found it after a brief search. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
We are caching today, finding some of Sweet-Sours caches, 40kms north ish from home. Cache and log in good condition.TFTC
It was time for us to have a look into this area again.
So we stopped here, found the cache and signed the log.

TFTC Sweet-Sour, still a few caches to find in the area. Today we are targeting a few we have passed by many times.
Very pretty area,
Very pretty area,
1MinnieMoo and I were in town grabbing a couple of caches and visiting my parents.
I was a little wary of this one - with a couple of driveways in eyesight. I stayed by the car keeping watch while 1MinnieMoo scooted over to GZ to make the find. It was in good condition - despite having not been found in about 9 months or so.

21/8/21 Find #4959
Fangsoki and I found ourselves in Gympie to catch up with his parents for a spot of lunch. So we decided to grab some other caches out this way while we were here.
We couldn’t pass grabbing this one and leaving it sitting there without a smiley, so a quick side drive up this road and we were soon at the end of it, and clambering out of the car to make our find. Was rather surprising to see this one hadn’t been found since last year.
Thanks for the cache Sweet-Sour.

Visiting Gympie on business and once finished decided to head out and grab a few caches. I ventured out along some great country roads that I hadn't been along in many years.
This was the next and another quick find. I like the nearby house number and light!
Once the log was signed all was returned as found.

Saw a couple of kangaroos near the end of the road where we parked up. Wandered up the bank and cache was soon in hand. Great drive along here. TFTC Sweet-Sour
Had the opportunity to go caching with Wazza9 and Nana Nel and took it. We had been wanting to do the river walk series for a while plus others around the hinterland of Gympie. Such pretty country side. We enjoyed our day of caching. Thanks for hiding this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Sharing a days caching with Liz and Bruce and wazza9, quick find, signed log and replaced. Thanks to Sweet-Sour

TFTC,
A big day for me with 38 finds for the day. I joined with Nana nel & Liz and Bruce today to start my caching experience in this area.
A great day spent with great people talking, walking, driving and looking into spots many people would not see.

With a little change in the coordinates, we arrived at GZ.
The cache was located and the log signed.

It would appear that I've initially stuffed up the cords and wrote down an alternative hide that I was looking at.

With a couple of DNF's on this, thought I'd better check on it's health.
Both recent cachers need new glasses, still where it was originally placed
There is a slight possibility that the cords are out a bit, due to tree cover maybe 6m or so.
Here's a clue, ask yourself this: *If I were a cache, where would I hide,* don't poke an eye out in your rush to look
Enjoy our sport

I don't think this one has been here since Christmas.
No one else that has been here has logged a DNF and I think there were quite a few.
We went all over GZ and could not find it.
Sorry did not have a container with me to replace.
Be back soon

We came upon your cache, Sweet-Sour, while geocaching at the Newbies Event at Widgee. We are in the company of Temingi.
End of the road and a two man construction team was installing a new cattle grid/gate. They told us where to go.
Log signed and replaced at 1:47 pm on 31 December 2017. TFTC.

Out and about today with Youngoldfellow and Aykayem Sweet and Sour taged alog with us as well this was a joint FTF today great fun was had by all
Drove up from Canberra, for a much needed holiday staying with my parents in Caloundra ... Up here for a few weeks (Christmas, and most of January
My parents didn't have any plans for this weekend/NYE so I figured I would come up for the Geocaching weekend at Widgee ... glad I did - 3 days of fun!
After arriving here yesterday evening, and staying up way too late, I was woken up by the daylight (Sunrise is way earlier than it happens where I come from - lol) I had breakfast and a chat with everyone, and jumped into the powellbruce Geomobile with Sweet-Sour and youngoldfella, and headed for the hills for an adventure
We found the cache they were going up the hill for, and 3 more they stopped for on the way down, and a few more we were going past down the bottom (for me to find, and the CO to check) then we started working our way through the Saturday list of Sweet-Sour's caches he had hidden for the event, and then, because the Sunday list was also published early, we went and found most of those as well - the most first to finds I have ever got in one day - lol
TFTC - Saw some interesting red berries (no, didn't eat any). There were work vehicles parked nearby, but I think the workmen were off in the shade somewhere having lunch or something

(FTF) joint with Powellbruce and AKAYEM. some new hides released today for the event and as we were out thinking that there were only 15 to find the reviewer published the other 16 which we thought would be released tomorrow, Sunday, so Only 5 to find tomorrow. Sweet-Sour came with us as we started our trip going up to launch from here as this is real 4WD country and we had the means. Apologies for the boiler plate logs. Loved the company and the challenges. Thanks Keith for another good weekend. TFTC Sweet-Sour
