Recently back from NZ and Brislions has us paddling to South Stradbroke for a long anticipated cache retrieval. The wind it a bit blowy and chopping the water. Very glad to make landfall and went to the canoe tree prior to our targeted cache. Curran Cove is a ghost town, but the are signs of life about the village we past through.Brislions found this one in the best suited spot at GZ.
I meet up with Muggle65 and GreenGecko1 for afternoon paddle. The mission was to find a D5/T5. So off to South Stradbroke. It was bit windy today. It was quick find here. Log signed and then replace back.CouranCove thank you for placing and maintaining this cache for enjoyment of the caching community.
Thanks for the hide, was a nice walk down from Tipplers around the nearly deserted Cove.
What better way to celebrate your birthday than with a surprise trip out on the waters around South Stradbroke Island finding caches?!?
It was a stunning day to be on the water and the company was brilliant. Joining us, forming a motley crew, was EeePees, Peppa and Snickersallan. We set off early from Jacobs Well, weaving our way through the islands, flying over the wakes of the giant “look at me” boats, avoiding the shallow sandbars along the way.
We noticed the recent dnf’s on this cache but still decided to have a look. With no cache in sight we placed a new container in the likely spot as per the hint. Tftc CouranCove

There was a plan… a grand plan… a secret plan…
It involved months of messaging, hiring a boat, importing a driver from Tasmania, making a list, solving some puzzles, an event with an ulterior motive & an early start…
Leaving the BeaverFinder at Jacobs Well, we boarded the Blue Woggle for a day of high seas adventure from Coomera Island North to Crusoe Island and many points in between…
The crew consisted of Snickersallan, Davinells, EeePeees and myself… electing not to abbreviate our names the logs were signed in full…
A perfect day aboard the SS Beaverlicous, sponsored by the South Stradbroke Auto Group - we specialise in used Volvos…
I may have done myself a nasty injury on the way here… but let’s soldier on…
A fascinating and educational location…
Knowing this cache hadn’t been here since 2021 we came prepared and left a new container in the obvious spot considering the hint…
Thanks CouranCove for highlighting this spot for us to visit today…

Greetings From Tassie - visiting on a surprise birthday trip.
Found this cache with Davinells, Peppa, and Snickersallan on a fantastic day out "messing about in boats" on the great birthday celebration cruise.
Placeholder log of sorts - FLTF.

Looked atriums everywhere (not inside the tree as mentioned in hint) it is not anywhere. Needs to be checked by cache owner
Found it accidently, went to geocaching.com and this is how I discovered Geocaching
It’s a perfect day to be out on the water in Karicka’s tinnie. After walking over to the surf beach and back, we headed here for a quick find. Thanks for the cache
Great to get to see a canoe tree.
Also great to be spending the day on the water.

Found it, really struggled to open the lid as the tin has rusted quite a bit. Great spot! Easy find. TFTC!
Thanks for bringing us here. I marvel at how clever the Aborigines were and how they adapted and improvised.
Taken the Geo coin - now got to remember how to log it

Quick find but mosquitos nearly carried us away. Signed log and replaced as found TFTC
Spending the weekend at Couran Cove. A nice little walk to the passage beaches.

Enjoying a day out on Straddie at Couran Cove - avoiding the crowds at Tipplers. A wonderful walk up the Island to Dux and beyond. TFTC
Ran aground in the boat getting here but all is good
Easy find. Nice tree. Young Quinn found it first.

Wow! Thanks heaps for showing us this special tree.
We walked past several wallabies that were too busy eating (and keeping the lawn short) to be bothered with us. Then we followed the path through to the beach and were soon at the tree. Had no problems finding the cache. Signed our name in a blank spot half-way down. Changed the torn zip-lock bag. All is good here.
Thanks CouranCove. We really enjoyed our day here.

TFTC! A nice quick easy find, after a walk along the beach with my Aunty and Uncle! Not long before my Uncle had the cache in hand and the log signed for us all - S, G, B for short!
Grub62 and I are holidaying nearby in the Gold Coast & we met up with Smiley1982 as a bit of a family geocaching get together. We were are signing as S G B for short to save on log space and for ease of writing. I Found this cache quite easily in a standard geocaching location. As our 2nd find of the day after a DNF it restored a bit of confidence. TFTC.
We were on an Adventure - Bunadoorian, Smiley1982 and myself - we headed over to South Stradbroke Island to find the GeoTour caches ( well those we could get to and still available). The ones closest to the resort we walked to with mixed results. We were able to look for a couple of the further away ones with the help of Paul our very informative , friendly and 4WD tour driver. This was the first cache we had found on the island and my first in Queensland! TFTC CouranCove It is very sad that the caches aren't being maintained very well. This was 2 of 4 finds with 5 DNF's for the day both on and off the island.
#2. This one was off track at first which meant having to walk and get off our bikes. When we got to the location we found the cache almost immediately! This was good as there were heaps of mosquitoes in the area TFTC.
Spotted a likely hiding spot whilst walking to GZ and it was exactly there. A nice view to the straight.
Thanks!!

We followed the sparsely marked Alcheringa trail to the canoe tree - interesting history of the use of this tree. Soon located the cache close by - cute tin.
While I was signing the log, and the others were examining the tree, a little bird flew out which we later identified as an Australian owlet nightjar - very cute!
We took some opportune photos of our new boat which we could see from the beach here, then continued along the trail to the next closest cache.

I was the only one in my family awake this morning, so I thought I'd start the day geocaching. Nice place to visit
Dora the Explorer! and I have been paddling southward down the island and grabbing caches on the way.
This cache was found easy enough.
This was our last cache for the day prior to hopping back into the kayaks and paddling to Paradise Point. That was a tough paddle when fighting against an incoming tide.
It was nice to have a break from paddling whilst trying to find the caches in this area.

Quick and easy find
We completed the fish series and traditionals around South Moreton Bay Island all by Kayak and walking. We stopped to camp overnight. Was a very enjoyable adventure using sit on top kayaks and hammock tents.
On day 1 we completed in this order, one of the caches may be out of order. We used two cars. One was parked at Jacobs Well and the other at Paradise Point tomsave back tracking. We had a very early start leaving Jacobs Well with the high tide.
Fish and Cache series, 16, 23, 19, 20, 22, Crusoe House Boat, 21, 18, 17, Jumpinpin Passage, Fish Cache Series 24, 3, 2, 1, 5, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 2 Goats in a Boat Fish Series 12.
Day 2
Camped overnight near Fish Series 11.
Fish and Cache Series 11, 57 km from Mexican, Fish and Cache Series 13, 14, 15, Dux's Hut, The Sand Dunes, Tipplers, (we had a break here and bought breakfast from the shops here). As the Sun Sets, Wallaby Lawn, Step Back in Time, The Bora Ring, Easy for Some, Minbalup, and Canoe Tree. We then paddled from here back to Paradise Point.
The adventure was fairly straigt forward, saw lots of sting rays, so make sure you have foot wear on when pushing kayaks across the mud flats which we had to do on afew occasions. I even had a fish decide to join me in the kayak. I quickly put him straigt back into he water. We were both quite exhausted on the final leg back to Paradise Point as we were going against the tide.
All in all was a fun adventure and I would recommend doing it by kayak over two days.

After finding the previous cache we decided to venture out onto the beach to this one. Pretty sure we ended up in a staff only area but we quickly walked through to the beach anyway and it wasn’t long until we were out of the no go zone.
As we broke through the trees we spotted another couple of wallabies enjoying the afternoon sun and then we noticed the best picnic table in the world! What a view, we hope this is vacant again next time we are traveling through. Once we marvelled at the giant boats going by we dragged ourselves up as there seemed to be no one around here to serve us any wine, oh and we had a cache to find.

Nice walk along the track from Tipplers where we are anchored on our boat for a few days. Lots of wallabies around. TFTC
No boat required to find the cache, but someone made one here long ago.
Number 6 and last one of the day on geo tour with fourtrikiseekers. Just caught the end of the sunset. Quick easy find. TFTC.

Friday. Took more photos at this spot. I love how there is information given at these interesting spots on the island. Makes for an interesting tour and I love finding out about the extra bits as well as the geocaching part. GZ was an easy find for this one and I liked the container as well. Log signed and replaced. One young treasure hunter even left some drawing thing he’d done in the cache container for people to look at when they discover this cache.
This was the 8th of 10 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***CouranCove***, for showing us this place.
