My first solo caching trip. A long one down the entire length of the Sturt Highway. TFTC
Found while heading out to Renmark and surrounds to do some caching along the Wandering Hero's Series and to see what other interesting sights we can find. TFTC
Spending a few days in Renmark and spending some time caching as well. A quick find. TFTC.
I very first find , which got us into Geocaching. We stumbled across it during our lunch break . Thank you . Started all our adventures .
Found by The Empire + HAs we continued along the southern road, the landscape opened up to breathtaking views of the Murray River far below. The road wound along the cliffs, and from our vantage point, the river shimmered in the sunlight, snaking its way through the valley like a ribbon of silver. The sheer limestone cliffs stood tall and weathered, their pale, rugged faces dropping steeply down to the waters edge.Every so often, the trees would part, offering uninterrupted views of the river, framed by the ochre-toned cliffs that added a striking contrast to the lush green vegetation along the banks. The cliffs, carved by millennia of river flow, revealed layers of history in their sediment, reminding us of how the Murray has shaped this land over time. Seeing it up close, it was hard not to imagine the sheer power it would have taken to move such massive loads through the forests and along rough tracks. The jinker had clearly seen years of use, its worn surface marked with the grit and labor of a different time, when timber was one of the lifeblood industries of the area. Thanks for the cache crane2.-M
Found on our 14 day road trip through south east South Australia and into the Victorian central west. We also travelled towards Mildura for the PS Series. It was sometimes wet and sometimes windy, but always enjoyable, especially while finding cachesAppreciated the safe parking for the caravan - thank youTFTC
Quick find when we had to turn around because we needed to go home via Loxton and we were heading to Renmark. Muggle husband laughed when I said hang on theres a cache here. TFTC TNLNSL
We're meandering home, after attending 2 awesome Megas over this side of the country, via a few little deTours as we go.We'll be going back across the Nullarbor, back to our Seaside home eventually, before WAGB 2024.Thanks for this one on our travels.TFTC
Sitting around discussing puzzles and D/T and LGA and I realised that there was a D/T nearby we needed to help us along to our 9th loop. I discussed with M the possibility of a late afternoon excursion since it was less than 1/2 an hour away but then Wollaston realised he needed it too. HansandLinda are always keen to find just a few more so I left M behind and we headed out in Wollastons' vehicle to grab just a few more finds for the day. Thanks for find #5778TNLN
Our first full day in Renmark and finding caches out of town this morning while it is fairly cool. Thanks to all the COs for your cache placements. We made a fairly quick find here.
Out and about caching today in Renmark and district. Arrived at GZ and found cache. Signed log. TFTC
After a week of caching around Adelaide incorporating The Great Leap Forward event, HansandLinda, MeandDe and I are working our way towards Canberra for the Easter Capital GeoBash Mega. At Paringa for a couple of days of rest and maintenance although we did have a couple of targeted caches at MacCabes Corner today. After a great day, we settled in for sundown drinks and nibbles which is always enjoyable at the end of a good day, only it turns out it wasnt the end a caching for the day. Diligent Deana discovered a sought after D/T rating along the SA/Vic border trail. Luckily, I was enjoying another AFD, so a tad before 1900hrs, 3 of us made the dash. It was never going to be a quick trip as there were about a dozen other caches on route. We grabbed this one along the way. Another great day for caching. TFTC crane2
We are on the way from Brisbane to Adelaide for the MEGA Leapyear 2024.Found the cache with TBU1BIKESU Tftc
Continuing on with my South Australian caching tour and the mad collection of caches in the state. I am again part of the BOLD 7 team doing the mad assault on as many caches as we can. We tested out the MG yesterday and dirtied her up, she handled it well. Today it is to finish off the mayhem of the On your bike series and the few in the area as we pass. It may be a late night back as the plan is to also grab a cache or two on the way to Remark before heading back home. There is so much to do and in such close proximity, I am going to have to come back again. Just need to make sure we stop for food and fuel, must have happy campers for the travels. Am loving the area and the countryside, will have to come back at a different time and experience this state. Along the way we grabbed a few oldies, caches yes and a few that were just there for the fun, oh and the occasional multi, lol. Thanks for setting up these caches and maintaining them. All caches were signed as BOLD 7 and replaced as found. The generic log signing is to save log replacements.
Out and about collecting more smilies. Signed with Leap mega team nickname BOLD7. Thanks for hiding and maintaining the cache.
Good time for a pit stop after making our way through the fruit fly stop. Wasn't sure if the authorities would consider Qlders as vermin and we'd be pushed back to Victoria. This could have started a diplomatic incident with the flood gates opening and hoards of Qlders breaking loose and heading south, drinking everything dry in their path.Common sense prevailed and the South Aust authorities reluctantly let the BOLD07 back even after I nearly ridiculed the hire car we were driving which just so happened was the same car the inspector had as his personal vehicle. Awkward but the lovely ladies gave the inspector alluring smiles and were ready to leave me there.Initially hidden by the earthcache icon, it was a bonus to see this trad. Thanks crane2 for making the pit stop worthwhile.
We are on the way from Brisbane to Adelaide for the MEGA Leapyear 2024. We stop for interesting spots and combining it with finding caches. This was one of them. I learner a new word: jinker. Tftc crane2
With our group BOLD7 entertaining ourselves as we head north to explore the country. Fab day collecting bikes and other menagerie! . Thanks to the SA cachers for awesome variety of caches. Second day of frolics! A tad cooler!
How very exciting the big trip has finally arrived! Down from Brisbane with a host of other geo friends with plans aplenty, enough to almost see us needing to extend or make a return visit. Our geonick for the trip is BOLD7 which is guaranteed to save the log paper for the 7 individual members of the team. As we make our way around sadly there wont be time for the usual individual logs and therefore just the old generic log will have to do. With little extra notes here and there if needed. Thank you for your cache which has added to my wonderful caching holiday.
On our way from Werrimull VIC to Sedan SA we pick up a couple of caches on the way and this was one of them. TFTC crane2
TFTC crane2 your cache Jinker that we found today. After spending the last 3 weeks in and around Shepparton we are now on the move , heading to Yorke Peninsula. This is day 3 of or travel time. We left Werrimull this morning heading toward Burra stopping along the way to break up the trip and find some more caches. Find Count: 17494
Sydney to Adelaide Road TripDay Four: Mildura to home. Weather: perfect! The cache was found and the log was signed, then I set about the nearby Earthcache. In no mans land, half way between the two, I found an empty green preformed tube, the model that is used by geocachers far and wide. Couldnt see any recent entries indicating that the cache was replaced, so Im a bit baffled. What is the intended use for these tubes? Thanks for the cache (was it ever a green preformed tube?) crane2.Its officially a mega.GCA1DNA The Great Leap ForwardAdelaide, South Australia, February 29, 2024.Wed love to have your company.
This one was a quick find with the aid of accurate coordinates and a useful hint. TFTC
I stopped in to grab the earthcache and couldnt resist finding this one too. TFTH
Find # 9173On my way to Mildura to meet up with some caching friends to begin our epic On Your Bike series adventure. Picking up some counties, oldies, and other specials along the route to add to my tally and to stretch the legs. This was a quick and easy find and here at Jinker GZ today. Thanks so much for the many caches crane2 and of course for giving me a reason and incentive to get out here, and to experience this part of the world in a different light
Not jinxed here! How fabulous and mind boggling is the monumental scale of caches and geoart in SA. On a multi project in the true sense of the word far from home base which is at higher altitude. The project was to do the OYB series with a group of likeminded geobuddies. Now its over Travelling with the always fun kbucky and weirdo biker - and now that the marathon is over we can kick back more and enjoy the local specialties. Thanks a zillion to the COs for the variety of caches and challenges. Im imagining a recovery session after this epic exhausting 4 days in the heat to say nothing of Collingwood winning the 2023 AFL Premiership GO PIES!
I was busily searching for this one and looked around and Contesta was already signing the log
This find completes the tasks of finding a cache in 3 different states in the one day. Day 15: We are enjoying relaxing in Renmark but today we are out for a bit of a drive. Trying to grab caches in 3 states in the one day. Have a plan that looks easily achievable so we are off. Well its holiday time again and this year we have planned a road trip East across the Nullarbor to South Australia. We will be staying in Streaky Bay, Whyalla, Hahndorf, Renmark and Clare before heading for home and making the trip west. We are looking forward to eating and drinking, exploring and visiting a swag of wonderful places. Of course it wouldnt be a holiday at all for a Geocacher without plans including a plethora of stops, deviations and distractions for all types of Geocaches. Our thanks go to all the hiders who make this game what it is. Well my whirl wind tour of 5 states in 3 weeks has started and after reaching the SA border it was time to locate a cache or 2 as I won’t be doing that much caching on this trip.
So this is my second cache of the trip and a nice spot to pull over to get out and stretch the legs and also with the van in tow plenty of room as well.
A nice view over to towards the Murray River and an interesting jinker.
It is amazing what they could make with what was available to them back then.
Thanks crane2 TFTC.

A lovely sunny day so BettyBoo3747, the geodoggies and I traveled from Lake Boga to Renmark to start our holiday. Collected a few caches on the way when the mood took us, and a couple of AdLabs.
Interesting bit of history, and a great spot to look out across the wetlands below.
Thanks, Robmc.

#19707. Day 2 of our holiday travelling between Lake Boga and Renmark. Gathered up 16 caches and 2 AdLabs along the journey. A lovely sunny day that got warmer every hour.
Don't think those jinker wheels could move anything, anywhere these days. Certainly a solid, chunky piece of history however. Soon had the cache to hand and our names added to the log sheet.
Thanks crane2

After a most relaxing couple of days on the Proud Mary cruising on the river, it was time to track down some caches. But first an overnight stay in Karoonda to recharge for an early start and then head off on another adventure.
The plan is to grab caches in the last few LGA for me to complete that challenge.
TFTC crane2
Keep smiling
