Last time I came down here with GeohoundandI we abandoned the mission almost straight away because it was so wet. Today, after the recent warmer weather decided to give it another go with Daddypig. Good job I took him because my gps was pointing me in the wrong direction and I would have got my new shoes a bit muddy and wet if I had carried on heading where I was. Instead I made a quick find in a suitable place, and a nice, dry log to sign thanks to it being inside 2 containers.

Bit of an increase in terrain, but apart from that, m13 found this cache with ease.
A nice and easy cache to find, log all good and signed. TFTC

10-Sep-22
Not the quick find I was hoping it would be, but I found it eventually. A few tī kōuka around, the first few not hiding anything, but then spotted some more a bit further away and soon found where the cache was hiding. Good size of container, everything inside is dry, and someone had written the lyrics to the Gumboot Song on the logbook so it has been stuck in my head for the whole afternoon.

Now to run to the bus stop... only to find out I just missed the bus, and the next one was cancelled. Not to worry, at least I found the cache! Thanks for placing it! (#1597)

*If it weren't for your gumboots, where would you be...*

Keylev and B4Dawn were childless this week so it was decided to cache every night in celebration. We decided that Te Atatu was the area we would hit tonight. Keylev and B4Dawn started early and I joined therm at 5 pm.

GPS all over the place when arriving at GZ. Think I actually stepped over the cache before I found it.

I had a some freedom for the whole week! As this was a rare occasion, Keylev and NZTravellers thought it would be fantastic opportunity to do weekday caching! So this is a start of the week when we all went wild! TFTC

Found the good parking just back the way a little and headed where the arrow pointed. Soon in the thicket of things and a glimpse of red led me to the nice sized cache. All good and replaced as found, with a smidgeon of Ti Kouka leaf camo. Thanks KS19.

A long hot day, again, and Auckland is pumping those Summer temperatures along with the unwelcome humidity. I was keen to avoid the heat, and traffic, of the main day and left coming out until this evening when time and tide waited for me, and I was able to get the last 4 (known) caches on the Te Atatu peninsula. (Never know if some of those gaps hold unsolved puzzle cache finals!). Nice and quiet out and about and managed to not get eaten alive by flying teeth insects, which was nice. Thanks to all COs.

#802: a fairly straightforward find, easier from the Celsemere Lane entrance, just because of the bog that is present on the path from Gloria Park itself. I noticed a signature from a Rutherford College geography class, pretty cool how teachers are taking their classes out to explore this hobby! TFTC

#7671. Today I had the option of going shopping in Newmarket with the family or going geocaching. You can probably guess which option won. So here I am up in the warzone that is Te Atatu North. Didn't realise the scale of the battle until I got here. I see that General G-2 and his top brass staff officers have been very busy installing military hardware in various secret outposts. Parked nearby and headed down the path to this hidden stash. Took a few minutes to locate this one a it was cunningly placed with lots of decoy hint objects nearby to make it tricky for enemy operatives to uncover the vital information. Once I had the logbook in hand, it was signed and everything was returned as found. Thanks Kilo Sierra 19 Company for hiding it here.

Find number 6224. I had intentions of coming up to Te Atatu last Friday but the possibility of 12 FTF got in the way. So today it was. In order to not get caught in the traffic on the Southern motorway I left Hamilton at 4 am. Flew through and arrived just as the sun was rising. A couple of caches before breakfast. Then it was a day on the bike clearing as many as possible in the area (56) before enjoying Fish n Chips while waiting for the evening traffic jam to pass. Finally getting home at 9 pm. Tired but happy with my day.
I knew where to look but there were many options. Not having a coffee with me I opted for a drink of water as I looked around. Soon after cache was found. Thank you for the placement.

So glad to find this one. we found it thx.

I headed off down the hill in search of a bit of coleslaw material. I hunted at the obvious gz but couldn't spot it. Came back to this area thinking it was the best Ti Kouka cluster example around . A bit more of a careful search and I had it. TFTC Smile

24-Aug-19
A nice quick find today. Ground a bit soggy underfoot but the blue skies made up for it.

Up in Auckland visiting family and I have a few spare hours. The Te Atatu North (as it was once called) battlefield beckoned so I headed over to try and make peace, or at least get a few smileys!!

Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

With part of Team BOP - (Mr) Davidson clan, McJandals, and NZFlossy... All logs were signed RoT - Rotorua or Tauranga. We have been planning this mini raid of Auckland for a short time. We have discovered that we need a small push to kick onto our next milestone. Hopefully, this weekend's haul of caches will bring us a little closer...

We decided to focus much of our attention on Te Atatu this weekend. The sheer number of caches, the walkability factor, and the rumor of some high quality caches sounded appealing... We also agreed to stay together on the trail rather than split up - This proved to be a good idea considering the reputation and hiding prowess of the COs in this area. Four pairs of eyes didn't miss much...

We were directionally confused at first. Maybe we should have packed our nighttime goggles... Followed the iPhone gps nevertheless, and found the target soon enough. Thanks Kilo Sierra 19 Company, and TFTC.

On an Auckland adventure with three other BOP cachers. An early start with lots of fun and a night in the big smoke. I don’t venture up here very often but we were on a mission. Thanks to the COs for some great caches Signed as Team ROTTFTC

15-Jun-19
On a road trip with part of Team BOP which includes myself, NZ Flossy, Squirrel Nutcase and Davidson Clan. To save room we have signed ROT and I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing us here. Cheers

I was a bit wary of how close the neighbours were to GZ so I tried to duck in and out as quickly as possible. Luckily it was a nice quick find Smile, TFTC!

Thanks for the cache. My whole geo class is now into geocaching.

05-Apr-19
We found it!

24-Mar-19
Now that the ceasefire is well and truly in place, we decided it was time to venture forth and see what caches we could find on the Peninsula. It wasn't as easy as we thought and some took up to 30 minutes to find, so glad the enemy wasn't around, we would have been dead ducks in this war. We had to thrash our way to GZ without thrashers. Nicely hidden cache. SL. TFTC.

Out and about for a spot of cache detection this morning. The plan was to collect some park and grabs and the like before the forecast rain which is supposed to hit from early afternoon. Anyway, I parked up at the end of Ceismere Lane and followed the grass access way into the reserve. Luckily the ground want to wet for my walking shoes. I could here the noise of the nearby school at play as I entered the bush. No issue finding GZ, but it took a little bit to track down the exact right spot. Walked straight past it at one point, but got it on the second sweep. Cheers for the cache placement!

Friday caching in Te Atatu Peninsula. My third visit to the area. Always pleasure to back. Found several caches on my way. This hide was one of them. No hint needed. Coordinates spot on. All good at GZ TFTC

As Janno216's 8-month stay in NZ was coming to an end he asked me whether I wanted to do a big day trip out to the Te Atatu Peninsula, and I as always interested in doing more caches decided to come along. After arriving we were quite skeptical about the whether the weather would hold and fortunately it did. We almost got 50 but sadly we got a flat battery and that consumed too much time. But very few DNF's helped. Thanks too all the CO's who placed the cache here. A quick find here.

03-Sep-18
My eight months stay in New Zealand is nearly over so I wanted to do one more big Geocaching tour in this great country! I asked thegreatauk wether he is interested in a big day trip - and of course he was. So we chose this day and made our way to Te Atatu Peninsula with our rental car.
We were a bit worried about the weather, but fortunately we only saw the dark clouds but just had a few drops and no strong rain.
Most of the Caches were easy to find for us, we only had a very few number of DNF's, so we reached our goal of 40 Caches without problems. Probably we also would have reached the fifty if we would not have had a flat battery… However,we enjoyed a great day with a lot of nice Caches!

Nice box! I liked the place!

Thanks for hiding!

Today was really the last chance the HKCB and I had had to gather the required intellegence (caches) for the Hidden Souviner Challenge and as such, since we had only begun collecting caches towards this last week, time was rapidly running out.
All caches signed as "HKCD"

So come wet or fine we were to collect caches. So plans were hatched and we departed at 'Oh My God its only 3am" from Hamilton headed for the big smoke (Home by 3pm). Rain it was to be for the start of the day, clearing up by about 9am then as we packed the car and got on the motorway heading south it started again. We just laughed heartidly at our good fortune.
We did well for the day with myself collecting some 65 caches towards the total and only about 3-4 DNF's, so for all that good work we have left quite the hole in the map ready for the next visit.

Thank you all the CO's for your fantastic contributions to our days efforts and may your wars continue to populate the Geocaching Maps. I know they are generic logs but then sometimes you get that.

Thank you for the cache, thank you for the placement

22-Jul-18
With the Hidden Creatures Souvenirs ending soon, and not much of a tally to my name so far one big push was going to be needed to get over the line. Cats&Dragons was is a similar boat, so after a quick scout of the maps Te Atutu, and the nearby motorway cycleway looked like just the ticket to get us both the numbers we needed.

A early start of 3am (this is getting more and more regular) from hamilton saw us starting the hunt just before 5am. The weather wasn't playing along at first as we had drizzle for the first hour or so, but it cleared up once the sun came up and stayed away right up to the point we headed for home. It turned out to be a very successful day with more than enough found to uncover all the Hidden Creatures.

We found a great varity of caches over the day, with some really great hides as well as one or two that were too good for us, or muggles had got them. I'll mention a few here and there that were extra memorable as I get to them, but unfortunetly I only have time for a cut and paste log for most. However a huge thanks to the CO's as the quality of caches were very high.
