This cache was not attached to anything! My theory is that it was on a dead branch and when someone grabbed it, the branch snapped. So it is currently just balancing on a nub instead. Surprised it hadnt fallen, I suppose the birds have left it alone! We moved it slightly up to a higher & better nub, but none of us had zip ties or anything to secure it better. The logbook was also wet, so Brewmaker fished out some paper from his backpack which we signed. This cache could definitely do with some TLC to extend its life! TFTC Wilbert -I have a concert in Sydney tonight & also got lucky with a morning shift yesterday at work! So decided to extend my trip and made my way to Kiama yesterday afternoon in preparation for this event! After an interesting stay in a hotel with no powerpoints, my half dead phone was stashed away and I teamed up with GHHH who came better prepared! This was such a gorgeous paddle, one of the best I have done! The water was crystal clear, so we could see straight through to the sandy bottom. Paddling between the mangroves was quite magical, the weather was perfect and everyone was in a cheery mood! After the event we teamed up with EverestHigh and Brewmaker to form an excellent team and tackled some more kayak caches. Thank you Hoojar for organising this event, Im so glad I made the trip from Canberra and had a fantastic time!
Very cool spot here. Yakking with loci EH and BM. Got to the matchsticks and soon found the cache . Signed and replaced a bit higher so it wouldnt get flooded. TFTC
Enjoying being out on the yak finding caches, after Hoojar's Event. OCW Brewmaker, Loci612 and GHHH. TFTC Wilbert67
Found with EH, GHHH and L612 after the water event. we made short work of this one, in such a lovely place. The water is so clear. we replaced the log sheet as the paper was wet. It will be a "cryptic crossword" cache now. TFTC
What an adventure finding a cleverly hidden geocache in a fantastic location on a wonderful day with perfect tides.Thank you very much Wilbert67 for hiding this great cache.NOTE: The log book needs replacing as it was falling apart when signed.Perhaps the next finder could replace the log book!
This really does look like a mtach stick forest. This is one of the most beautiful sections of the river. So peaceful, lots of wood ducks and egrets. The water was still so clear. The tide was still high enough that I could paddle up to this and reach while seated. I really liked this one.
A fun reason to go for an early morning kayak on a summer holiday. TFTC and the excuse to go out on the water!
After paddling further up the creek, we were beginning our return journey and we came to this one. After the previous tree climb, it was almost rewarding to find this one so accessible. It was spectacular to be paddling in amongst the mangroves at high tide. We saw egrets, pelicans, and various other birds along the way. The log was found safe and dry, and we have added our name. Thanks Wilbert67Domsky
Tide was rising but still able to walk around.
Found no trouble, log a bit damp.

Out on a trial run with the new inflatable whilst spending a couple of days up at Killelea reserve.
Perfect weather and a beautiful paddle up this lovely river.
Made a quick find.

Had a great day geocanoeing today with the tribe. Reccomend this one at high tide although unlike lost up the creek you could probably get this one at a lower tide. It seems that 50% of the worlds spiders live in these mangrove forests, many of whom tried to hitch a ride on our canoe. TFTC Wilbert!
Great summer day to be out on the river. Beautiful mangroves. TFTC! We were able to reach it from a seated position at high tide!
After almost bottomingvout a few times we made it to GZ for a short walk to the find.

ZQX and I had chose Kiama for today's caching due to a good number of caches with high favourite points, along with the high terrain CITO. It also gave us the opportunity to enjoy some kakyaing and collect some other T5 caches. Despite the threat of bad weather the day turned out well with no wind and little rain. By the time we left it was nice and sunny.
ZQX spotted this one, and I did the signing duties. TFTC.

There had been plans brewing for a while for a caching day/weekend with various trams assuring they could get a full leave pass or hall pass. Over the time the numbers dropped and one us ended up on crutches so the walking options were crossed off and given we had wanted to do the Minnamurra series and ICC caches for a while this became the agenda plus we figured the water would not be to cold yet.
We launched at Swamp Rd as the rains eased and gave way to a beautiful day.
No real problems with any of the hides and given our chief rope expert unfortunately pulled out at the last moment I had to set the the standard for the prusik at Double Five as after all you only need one good leg.
An enjoyable series. TFTC.

Found at 0850 with TikvaNZ. I saw this one from about 12 metres away, but it was TikvaNZ's turn to get out of his kayak and grab it. While paddling down the creek from the previous one, I saw some birds that I rarely get to see. There were cormorants, a hint of an azure kingfisher (it flew by so fast that I wasn't sure) plus another bird that I didn't recognise.
Thanks for the cache Wilbert67!

Needing to get out after some long days at work I teamed up with steeba to enjoy an afternoon on the water undertaking my favourite pastime. We hit the waters at the nearby boat ramp.
Continuing our paddle we headed upstream to this cache which seemed to take us a while to find. The tide saw us out of craft and walking to GZ.
Thanks

Teamed up with The Rats this afternoon for some great paddling. As we ventured up the side creek there were some shallow spots but enough for us to get through. We had to get out and go through the mangroves here and it took a while to spot the cache that blended in well. TFTC!
What more can I say. Wow!!! High tide, beautiful clear water. This creek was absolutely stunning. I cannot believe that I had not been up here before. This was an absolute highlight of today's kayak trip with Chip and Juno. Cache container was located and photos taken, on the high tide this one could be reached from within my kayak. We had no pen, but will return soon to place our names in the log.
Cheers

The water in this branch of the river was so clear and clean compared to upstream. I could see many fish swimming around as I paddled to gz. Better too was my timing as I was here right on high tide, I could paddle right up to the cache and sign the log while still in my kayak!
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
A plan was hatched to dust the cobwebs off the family kayak and paddle the Minnamurra River for 10 T5 caches. We set off from Swamp Road, Jamberoo around 9am and paddled to James Oates Reserve, Minnamurra by 1pm. It was a great day out on the water, and we’re happy we collected the caches in this body of water all in one swoop.
Tenth and last of the day. Dad had spotted this one from the water as I was looking around for a tree big enough to climb. Turns out it was much lower than expected. Nice easy one to finish the trip with. Thanks

A day trip from Canberra with the family (including hound). Aim was to test out the new inflatable double kayak. Getting teenagers up early to avoid late morning low tides was never going to work, so a bit of trudging through the river mud occurred, but actually made it a fun experience. Only had time (and others' patience) to collect 5 of the 10. Will be back.
No 2 of 5. This one was the prize for the day, due to its DT rating. I need it in preparation to collect a D5T5 on the 31 Dec, which will get me to 2000 caches and completion of my 5th DT loop. With a low tide, we had to do a bit of walking through the river, but was quite pleasant. At GZ, the search took a few minutes, but I soon spied the container at head height. Very happy to sign this one. TFTC Wilbert67

With the festive activities over it was time to dust off the kayak and hit the water,I timed my paddle to suit the tides and this worked perfectly for me.
Being a very long time between paddles I broke the trip up moving the car twice to make life alot easier on the arms and so I was able to get back to the car at the end of the day.
I had a fantastic day out on the water,it was much more of an adventure then expecting.
I arrived with the tide still low and GZ was a 10m walk in,I searched and searched through the mud til I noticed I was running the wrong coords,I moved back down stream and soon found it.
Thanks wilbert for the cache

This is a magical mangrove forest. The tides rolling in and we were able to grab this without stepping out. Once container opened a blank log was filled. A {*FTF*} was claimed. TFTC
