Logs
This is my second DNF log for this cache, the first was just over 4 years ago. Today I out around Lake Rotokauri doing the Ad Lab and I decided to have another go at finding two of my remaining DNF's. Arrived near GZ on the trackway, it does not look like this on the Geocaching map, I tried agin for this cache a couple of days ago. Arrived at GZ, again, and decided to search every tree/bush that fitted in with the hint, again nothing found. This might have to wait another 4 years before we are back again.
Another interesting off trail diversion, but soon found this cache with nufrat while in the area this afternoon. Decided to turn back at this point and carry on doing the ad lab adventure, but a neat trail to explore and a couple of fun caches completed, cheers
out with alunb today, it didnt look like this one the map, but we did find the cache, last one here for today, tftc
I was out for a walk with one of the young rattll's so decided to grab the three caches here.
I didn't expect to go quite so off track and lost my pen along the way, which I never found again - buggar! So I hope a photo of the log will suffice.
Glad its not to wet at the moment.
Thanks for setting this up

Changed our foot ware for this one and glad we did. Even though it’s the middle of summer it’s still very soft under foot.
Took two looks to find this one but it was beautiful and dry.
Thanks for another cache around this lake.

Thanks for another cache around this lake.
This gave me all sorts of grief due to the surrounding sphagnum moss being deceptively wet & sinky! What i thought was a sure step turned out to be not so. Finally found it - if only i had looked "there" earlier... TFTC

Easy find, little bit of blackberry but not too bad! Cache has no lid but lig is safely in its bag and still dry
Lots of small blackberry to negotiate, I was finding Cgeo wouldnt load so finding caches by general location without hints.Found nestled in its spot, no lid though.
It seemed like a very long trek across the park with 2 preschoolers and 2 dogs. Got there evenutually and proceeded to search for much longer than was necessary. Found it in the end! TFTC
TFTC, we knew what we were finding after the last one. The blackberry had been sprayed which made it easier to search, however, the dead vines were hidden. A few scratches later, we finally found the cache.
Staying the night in Hamilton on my way to Mega in Auckland. Lovely evening for a walk around this area to find some more caches. Thanks kiwiteachernz for the cache.
In town for work and had a Cooke of hours to fill in before sitting home. Really enjoyed a nice walk around the lake and finding these caches. Thanks.
Missed the "track" to the first one so left it for the return, carried on to this one, assumed they would be near the trail but soon had to rethink that idea, not ideal in the jandals thru the long stuff including blackberry! But got there in the end, took a couple of hint items to locate the hide, thanks, nice and dry underfoot today.
Another challenging cache, but we got there in the end - I think the plants have grown significantly since this was placed! TFTC!
Over this way to do the Adventure Lab cache and some Trad to Reach the Peak Challenge
Great wee walk, nice fine day thanks to CO

Tried to get there but the tide was in due to the recent rain and I did not have the appropriate footwear.
Tricky to get there especially with the thorns. I was on the verge of giving up but I thought to give it one more try. Using the compass I managed to pinpoint the location in the dense greenery around it.
I accidentally won an online auction soooo.... it's off to the Waikato so I can chip away at the endless caches I still have to find here.
This cache was a little trickier - the grass was reasonably flat around a particular tree but it still took a little digging before I was able to unearth this one. I've been looking forward to a wander around Lake Rotokauri for a while now so it's nice to be out here finally. Cheers kiwiteachernz, TFTC

The first cache in the park that we were able to access without wading, there’s a lot of water here. It was a bit damp reaching this cache as well but we stepped carefully and managed to find a safe path.
The cache was well concealed but the co-ordinates were perfect so it didn’t take long to locate.
This is a great place and we look forward to exploring further but will come back in the summer when things have dried out a bit. TFTC.

Another good find for us today. SL **tm/ww NZ**
Very wet and tough going through the growth. Found cache heavily buried but in ok condition.

Again my GPS got me to within 200 feet on the trackway. Again due to the nature of the terrain I decided not to attempt this one.
I didn’t like the hidden ditch in the bush bash through shoulder high grass. Just too much like a forest to give it in more than five minutes hunting.
TFTC, found this one after a mighty bush bash through the armpit high grasses, T rating a bit low IMO but hey still got the smily face in the end, but would be my least favourite of the series due to the amount growth that has gone on here.
Can't believe I made such a meal of this last time. Co-ordinates led me straight to GZ and the cache was sitting there nicely. TFTC.
Enjoying a fun day out with merlot58 and Jag50.
All good at this cache thankyou!

Out on the bike again - some of these are good to walk to - my feet are wet too now

Loved the moss but did not enjoy battling the bull rushes. GPS definitely not helpful today.
Checked replacement cache and it is in right location. Thanks for replacing.
Instant DNF at GZ. Had spare container with me. Fresh arrivals from my workshop. Happy to replace this one. I hope CO don`t mind Replaced as much as possible per hint and GZ .... Enjoy!
I clambered through the long grass only to end up stumped...a few small trees and lots of dry grass but no cache...gave up and moved on
Spent half an hour in this swamp looking at all the trees, no luck. Will have to come back when it's a bit dryer
Team BOP team up once again for an impromptu pre-Xmas caching mission in the Waikato.
Squirrel nutcase had his list of recent caches to clear the area again, Flossy had a few targeted, while Myself, Jandals and DC were going with the flow.
Thanks for bringing to this nice area I hadnt discovered before. The area sure could do with some maintenance though - at least mowing some grass!

this cache made me thankful for my gumboots I looked at the hint and walked across wondering which one
Taking a walk along Lake Rotokauri, on a sunny afternoon's caching. After doing all the caches along from the Domara Drive parking spot, we drove to Bunyard Lane to attempt the three caches here. This time we did not do as well. We skipped the first as it was so wet, and we had not come prepared with gumboots. And the last appears to be missing. We managed to make our way across the damp ground to this one, walking from clump to clump. Pleased to make the find reasonably easily. TFTC
My wife sent me out on some errands this afternoon that included visiting this geocaches CO to pick some items up. I told her I was thinking of popping down the road on my way home to grab some of her new caches and since she was keen for a walk she caught a ride with me. We split up after leaving the car park but not before she shared a couple of helpful hints. After some steady rain this past week it was pretty wet under foot and I would recommend gumboots for any one attempting this cache in winter. I was wearing hiking shoes and still managed to get wet feet. The hint item is not super obvious but the coordinates are really good so I soon stumbled across the container after walking in circles for a couple of minutes. Thanks for the cache kiwiteachernz
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... Another rain affected day on the cards. Gap had two jobs lined up in the Waikato, so it seemed appropriate to throw a few caches into the mix...
The rain gradually lifted across the afternoon and the sky brightened somewhat. Gap's final job brought us into Rotokauri, so it made sense to attempt these... We remember visiting some former hides in this area after rain, and gumboots ought to have been recommended as tools of the trade... Today, we were much better prepared. As luck would have it, we followed in the footsteps of another cacher which made for quick finds. TFTC.

3.25pm - We were on a roll, is this going to be 3 out of 3. Sure enough, thanks Jane for your guidance. SLTFTC
The family offered to take me out for lunch for Mother's Day but I opted for an afternoon walk with a few caches instead. I should've thought about all the heavy rain overnight - really needed gumboots to go off trail to get to this one, didn't have any, so ended up with very soggy feet instead. Amazing amount of planting work since I was last here. Took a moment to spot the most likely hint item, the nearby undergrowth has nearly swamped it for now! Log signed & replaced, thanks for the cache.
Decided to go for a caching mission this afternoon after not finding any for about a month. Walking up this way and came across a man riding his horse who offered me a ride - was tempted but decided to find the cache instead was a bit confused at GZ as there didn't seem to be anything that matched the hint but found cache at the closest thing to it. Thanks for the cache!
Managed to get a few hours away from the long weekend chores to find a few caches before the rugby starts tonight. So thought it was about time I cleaned up some of the newer caches around Hamilton.
Was contemplating where you would hide a cache here as I passed nearby heading to the other cache here. Was even more confused when I got to GZ after locating the other cache. Checked a few places and even found a rather large wasps nest within 5m or so of the cache, so be careful. Eventually I spotted a bit of a geotrail which lead me to the cache. Thanks for the hide.

I was lucky to have Gollum there to guide me through the Dead Marshes. At first, there was no hinted at item in sight, but then I got out my magnifying glass. TFTC.
A nice morning for a bike ride, 2 lake and 6 caches, thanks for the placement and getting us out and about on our bikes
Went bàck today. Good time of year to do this as in 1winter time it will be quite boggy here. Found co ords slightly out. Have àverage up to 4 mtrs will post. Tftc
We thought we'd have a look, despite psychrn's warning that it may not be there. We plodded over and wondered where it could be, but put our thinking caps on and came up with the goods.
We were fascinated by the mossy (?) growth underfoot, and very pleased we were doing this in summer, I'm sure it will be a different walk in the wet!

This looks all wrong here. There are definitely no trees. An open boggy area. There is definitely something not right here with these co ords me thinks
It's there. Was moved a few days ago and I've rechecked waypoints I took when moved to make sure I hadn't made a typo. Not all trees are huge.

Typical - the item I placed the cache under was cut down! Have moved under a smaller tree and updated the co-ordinates.

Find number 3686. I thought that these two had been sitting in my not found list to long so today was the day. Parked up and headed off to GZ. But unfortunately I missed the turn off and did a lap of the park before heading in the correct path. As I walked along the track I kept an eye out for the hint item. The only ones I could see were along the perimeter. So after getting the other nearby I followed the tree edge towards GZ. I ended up circling GZ so I had to walk thru some thick stuff. Once at GZ I could not see any hint items. There was evidence of the hint item lying around. It has been cut down. So relying solely on my GPS I was able to locate where that had been cut from. After a brief search around the area I was able to locate the container. Once signed I placed it at the base. Took the TBs and headed back to the path. Thank you for the placement.
More a case of did not look as their were workers right at GZ doing planting/maintenance so rather than compromise the cache I carried onto Roto-Post. Will need to return some day.
Made my way over from the other cache. Avoiding the new plantings and odd blackberry. Nice to see all the work done in this area. Soon found the cache. Thanks for the hide. Wonder if there will be more here. Nice to get this found before the muddy winter sets in
wow wasn't expecting that. noticed this cache published when I got up this morning (2.45am) but with plans of a big Hiking Caching day in the company of HKCB & 11HPG11 any thought of going for a {FTF} was put to one side.
so anyhow arriving back after 3pm, and seeing the cache still there i needed to check on it. maybe the thought of getting to 40000 steps for the day also influenced me. Although I thought it would be just like a coupl e of locals not to have logged it. so imagine my surprise to find an empty logbook, incredible and a big thank you for the {FTF}

Saw this last night and checked when I got home from work and not logged so off I went but beaten by Steve by 1 hour. Folks get this now before winter tftc
Dropping TB off - after reuniting with this TB in London, it's time to set him free again - to travel Route 66 in USA.
