A straightforward find while cherry picking my way along Richmond Rd to Windsor this morning ... yep, I'm just doing the ones close to parking. I was surprised at the number of DNFs here as the coords are spot on. By the way, the log is damp and disintegrating, it needs replacing. Thanks for the hide Deep99.

I was surprised to collect unloved points on an easy cache in western Sydney, usually have to go to fairly remote and/or difficult caches for that.

To complete the final stage of my Night at the Museum challenge, I needed a few more caches. This series on and around Richmond Road has been on my radar for a long time, so now it is the time to dust off my foldable push bike and get going.

It turned out to be a nice afternoon with many finds and over 15km of bicycle fun,

Strangly I did not find one, but two little containers at the hiding spot. I decided to take one and place it at Elara as that cache seem to have been missing for a while.

Out with phlphotos and JJCC in our hunt for diamonds, rubies, sapphires, emeralds, and topaz jewels whilst solving the current Mystery at the Museum souvenir offering. Parking off Watkin Cres in Marsden Park we made our way along Richmond Road by foot as we filled in some spare time this afternoon. Despite two frustrating DNFs earlier, all remaining caches were found very quickly with spot-on coordinates. With the cache in hand we signed the log before replacing as found. Both the cache container and log are in great condition. Thanks for the cache Deep_99.

With cache in hand we signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for bringing me to the area and thanks for placing the cache Deep 99

Decided to go caching this way north today. Did not really check any weather and just left early. As I was already driving for an hour the radio was talking about 40+ temps, what did I get myself into? Still sticked to the plan, did a nice bike ride in sub 30 at that time and a nice breeze. As it really got hot I had shelter in my car and was able to do a lot of driveby's. Thanks for putting out all those caches!

CACHE #102
Found at 09:10hrs, 1 of 7 located today.

YEEESSS! . DNF'd on this one a few days ago, and now back with a yellow smiley face . Contacted the CO who confirmed I was on the right track (thanks Deep_99).

Walked straight to GZ and scooped up cache in 5 seconds .

CIH, I signed log and replaced exactly as found. TFTC

08-Nov-18
after a couple of DNF's I checked on the cache today & found it missing, the cache has been replaced & is good to go again

06-Nov-18
Nope, WTH???

I searched and searched but no dice. After taking a number of short breaks (due to the stinking heat and frustration), I read previous logs. I found a great hint from 07/01/2018 (thanks Jaybeem!) and searched again.

I believe I may have found the mechanism for the hide (but I could be wrong). But no cache. Will message CO in the (desperate) hope that I was on the right track. Otherwise, looks like I'll be back at some stage.

What a fun way to spend the last day of the school holidays with the kids. With the pushbikes and a mountain of enthusiasm we parked about half along this mini series before find the ones in a westerly direction first.

Peddling back into the headwind proved difficult but we eventually found all the ones to the east, before feasting on Macca's for lunch. Thanks for a fun series of caches that the Rats and mini rats enjoyed doing together.

12-Oct-18
Came out here with the Rats for a bit of fun on our bikes. While the skies were gloomy and the wind blew hard into our face, it didn't stop us finding this series of caches and earning a stop at Maccas and Starbucks.
Thanks.

09-Sep-18
Today was a beautiful Sunday and we decided to go out West and finish off the Richmond Road Cache Path, which we had commenced upon some months ago. Our method was to park the car in the middle of some caches, then walk first south, then north and then back to the car. We then moved the car and repeated the exercise. After having completed the remaining 11 caches today the step counter in the phone showed a bit more than 8000 steps.

This one was quickly found.

I received a reminder that I only had a week left to claim the final souvenir, so I hitched my biked onto the rack and headed out to Richmond Rd.

After parking at the hardware store, this was 8 of 22 of what would turn out to be a leisurely ride along the bike path. All the coords were super accurate which made for pretty quick finds.

7/7/18. 10:11 AM. Cache #5603.
8th of 13 this morning - Marsden Park.

A nice morning for a bit of walking along Richmond Rd. For the first leg, I parked in the Bunnings carpark, and walked north to pick up the first 6 caches, then turned around and walked back to Bunnings (via Maccas).

I then drove up to the other end, parking at the Elara display village, and walking down almost to where I had previously turned around. In this second leg, I managed to find:

Feel the Power
After Pius Ln
Puma Views
Beginning or End

Secret Squirrel
Elara

Like the first caches, these were also mostly quick finds; I felt lucky to get the last 3 because my iPhone battery was down to its last few percents. TFTC and series.

Continuing the walk along Richmond Road I was soon at Pius Lane.
So sad to see that all the farmlets that used to be along this road have gone and its now ready for developers. At least in some areas the footpath edge has been landscaped. I liked the trees they've chosen. They must be really tough as we haven't had much rain this summer and now autumn and they all look to be thriving.
They also provided a good barrier from the driving muggle's eyes passing this cache. It's quite an exposed area but the trees help.

We found the caches south of IKEA on a previous visit. This time, we brought our bikes with us and headed north and found all of the caches finishing up at Elara. We looked around for a while for this one as our GPS coordinates were jumping around. In the end, a helpful hint in a previous log led us to our 9th cache for the afternoon. TFTC!

Time to venture from the eastern beaches to check out the Richmond Road Cache Path
The last time I drove along Richmond Road it was only a single lane roadway with trees growing beside the road. I was gob smacked by the amount of development going on everywhere and the volume of constant traffic was unbelievable – where are all those trucks coming from or going to?
I started at the Squeaks Bridge cache and finished the day at the Elara cache, only because the traffic heading west was starting to build up. For most of the trail I was able to park in one of the small turnaround spots off Richmond Road and walk to two or three caches at each stop. I had a couple of dnf’s at Thebe and Green Space View 2 and somehow forgot about Green Space View all together. All in all a very enjoyable day out in the sunshine. Thanks for the caches and showing me this new part of the world Deep_99.

The last few days can only be call hell at work but it was now time to put that all behind me and get working on my number with less then 25 to get before find 2000 and I plan on that one being at the big event over Easter.
It was not to hot today so I walked the power trial I moved the car 3 or 4 times and just as well because as I was finishing the storm was coming in. I just made it back the to car as it started.
But I found all the caches. All logs were is great condition. Some of the tape is getting old and the magnets are coming loose. But they are all great little find when working on your numbers.
I finished the day with visit to Lindt for little rabbits and then to Ikea to grab some of their paper rules they make great log for bison tubes or bigger, tomorrow I'm off to do cache maintenance. Thanks so much for a great day and I feel a bit more relaxed now.

Out with the gang collecting caches along Windsor and Richmond roads. It was a medium long pedal but a great day. Disappointingly we had to replace a few containers along the way but no biggie either since the effort should breath some life back into the trail. TFTC.

20-Mar-18
Out on a bicycle caching run with geobuddies along both the Richmond and Windsor Rd trails and also grabbing any other caches in-between.
Overall our day was a whooping 10hrs on the bikes and we all enjoyed every pedel of the way.
We found a total of 87 caches today so I apologise for my repeated logs,
Thanks to all the cache owners for providing us with a great day out.
