Well it was the end for me! The last one for the day, and what a way to go out. Thanks to the CO for allowing me to log a FOUND IT despite my incident with the cache. One day when they mow that grass, you might find the original cache. TFTC

The joys of being short. I easily spotted the cache, but in my attempt to retrieve it by jumping, it fell into the long grass. I searched for awhile but couldn't see it to replace. CO has been informed. I did have a mint tin to tape at the bottom of the pole. CO will replace soon.

OCW aubeasty today to try and bring my yearly numbers back up before the end of the year. COVID, no NSW mega and more work than usual have meant that my numbers haven’t been crash hot. A lovely sunny day made the perfect way to rectify this situation by bike.

With all the works going on in the area it feels like it’s the end of the natural environment and the beginning of over population . We needed a TOTT to access the cache, even better as a team. The log was completely full and needs replacing.

nearest to our lodgings.

Our adventure really started a couple of years ago with our cruise booking and the savings plan. This year we arrived Feb 6 and had three days to explore Sydney before cruising with Kteeeee and Mr. Kteeeeee, MissPeach13 and MrPeach13 and WRTagalong. signed CCC. We had a great trip with no cases of Co-vid19. We arrived back to Sydney Mid march. The others flew home. WRT and I continued on. We had some time in Brisbane and then cut our trip short as the virus was causing too many challenges and our Country called us home. We stayed quiet and flew out the 25th arriving to a ghost city in Vancouver.

These caches are only being logged now that I am hooked up to the computer and I can find the caches I missed logging. If I have made an error please let me know if something seems wrong as time has passed and my memory is not what it used to be.

Thank you to all the Aussies who set out these caches, maintained them and to the Aussies who offered us shelter and long term shelter if we could not get home. If I had to be stuck anywhere in the world I would choose Australia!

To complete the final stage of my Night at the Museum challenge, I needed a few more caches. This series on and around Richmond Road has been on my radar for a long time, so now it is the time to dust off my foldable push bike and get going.

It turned out to be a nice afternoon with many finds and over 15km of bicycle fun,

Out with phlphotos and JJCC in our hunt for diamonds, rubies, sapphires, emeralds, and topaz jewels whilst solving the current Mystery at the Museum souvenir offering. Despite two frustrating DNFs earlier, all remaining caches were found very quickly with spot-on coordinates. With the cache in hand we signed the log before replacing as found. Both the cache container and log are in great condition. Thanks for the cache Deep_99.

Decided to go caching this way north today. Did not really check any weather and just left early. As I was already driving for an hour the radio was talking about 40+ temps, what did I get myself into? Still sticked to the plan, did a nice bike ride in sub 30 at that time and a nice breeze. As it really got hot I had shelter in my car and was able to do a lot of driveby's. Thanks for putting out all those caches!

CACHE #98
Found at 12:05hrs, 12 of 12 located today.

This was the last find for the day. It was stinking hot, I was soaked in sweat, water bottle empty, my feet felt like they were going to fall off, and I had a looooonnng walk back to the car

At GZ I used a TOTT (tool of the trade) and had CIH. Signed log and replaced exactly as found. TFTC

What a fun way to spend the last day of the school holidays with the kids. With the pushbikes and a mountain of enthusiasm we parked about half along this mini series before find the ones in a westerly direction first.

Peddling back into the headwind proved difficult but we eventually found all the ones to the east, before feasting on Macca's for lunch. Thanks for a fun series of caches that the Rats and mini rats enjoyed doing together.

12-Oct-18
Came out here with the Rats for a bit of fun on our bikes. While the skies were gloomy and the wind blew hard into our face, it didn't stop us finding this series of caches and earning a stop at Maccas and Starbucks.
Thanks.

09-Sep-18
Today was a beautiful Sunday and we decided to go out West and finish off the Richmond Road Cache Path, which we had commenced upon some months ago. Our method was to park the car in the middle of some caches, then walk first south, then north and then back to the car. We then moved the car and repeated the exercise. After having completed the remaining 11 caches today the step counter in the phone showed a bit more than 8000 steps.

Some extended actions required.

I received a reminder that I only had a week left to claim the final souvenir, so I hitched my biked onto the rack and headed out to Richmond Rd.

After parking at the hardware store, this was 10 of 22 of what would turn out to be a leisurely ride along the bike path. All the coords were super accurate which made for pretty quick finds. No dancing required to grab this one.

7/7/18. 10:17 AM. Cache #5605.
10th of 13 this morning - Marsden Park.

A nice morning for a bit of walking along Richmond Rd. For the first leg, I parked in the Bunnings carpark, and walked north to pick up the first 6 caches, then turned around and walked back to Bunnings (via Maccas).

I then drove up to the other end, parking at the Elara display village, and walking down almost to where I had previously turned around. In this second leg, I managed to find:

Feel the Power
After Pius Ln
Puma Views
Beginning or End
890770
Secret Squirrel
Elara

Like the first caches, these were also mostly quick finds; I felt lucky to get the last 3 because my iPhone battery was down to its last few percents. TFTC and series.

Just as we approached the male goat hopped through the fence to meet us with a worrying stance, I was a bit wary having flashbacks of the unfriendly neighbourhood goat from my childhood that would chase and buck us but Wilfred as Gabstar called him was happy to stand guard, different kind of cache guardian for a change, Gabstar danced and chatted away to Wilfred whilst we completed log signing duties, police stopped at lights didn't seem phased at all , I mean people dancing and talking to goats at 1am is normal right? just about to leave when the rest of the goats escaped for a night wander and headed around the corner, we crossed our fingers they wouldn't go on the road.. Always something to add to our geocaching stories...TFTC!

Well it's not night caching unless something weird happens... And random goats coming out to greet us fit the bill. Gabstar named the leader Wilfred. He seemed to answer to it too! TFTC

23-Apr-18
Night caching with AWTYOW, Brizzle 11 and Pitman Clan - lots of laughs and caches along the way! Lots of loose goats running around in the dark! TFTC

21-Apr-18
Beginning or the end?
Well this is the end of my caching expedition for today. 6/6 finds and now its back to the Lindt outlet, the other reason for coming out here today.

I also hope its not the end of all the beautiful trees you can see about 100m from the road as they build the new development in this area.
It's a good view looking west from this area. I could see what I hope was a hazard reduction burn and not a bushfire in the distance.

I had to disobey the hint to retrieve and replace the cache, difficult for me!

There's still 5 caches along this road which I've left for the next time I visit my newly found favourite shop, the Lindt outlet.

We found the caches south of IKEA on a previous visit. This time, we brought our bikes with us and headed north and found all of the caches finishing up at Elara. Geodad found this one pretty quickly. Our 11th cache for the afternoon. TFTC!

10-Apr-18
Time to venture from the eastern beaches to check out the Richmond Road Cache Path
The last time I drove along Richmond Road it was only a single lane roadway with trees growing beside the road. I was gob smacked by the amount of development going on everywhere and the volume of constant traffic was unbelievable – where are all those trucks coming from or going to?
I started at the Squeaks Bridge cache and finished the day at the Elara cache, only because the traffic heading west was starting to build up. For most of the trail I was able to park in one of the small turnaround spots off Richmond Road and walk to two or three caches at each stop. I had a couple of dnf’s at Thebe and Green Space View 2 and somehow forgot about Green Space View all together. All in all a very enjoyable day out in the sunshine. Thanks for the caches and showing me this new part of the world Deep_99.
