As I'm now 3 months behind in my logging I am desperately trying to catch up and am mass logging to do so. Red Face

Today I picked up Fjalinas (Maggie), who I had met last night at an event, and spent a wonderful day with her very patient and lovely company Cool and also the great company of leafotwind Big Grin for a large part of the day, too, as he had mentioned yesterday catching a punt across to an island in the Yarra SurprisedCool Now how were we girls ever meant to resist that offer![?]Wink
I managed to find 8 caches Smile and only had 1 DNF Sad but oh what a horrid feeling that DNF was as I got hit by a dog and messed up my hips, knees and walking for at least 2 months Sad
On the upside, I'd spent last night sleeping in the car at St Kilda so now I can say that I've seen St Kilda RazzBig Grin Yours actually looks a LOT better than our St Kilda in SA Wink

It's always cool catching up with the lovely hostess of this event Cool[^]Big Grin
Had lots of fun, even if we were a tad late but hey that's what happens when there's punt calling your name to take you to an island and find a cache RazzWinkCool

The only down side today was that when a group of us (Fjalinas, leafotwind, Muzza, Cybergran V and I) headed out to find a cache once this event had concluded, not only did we DNF that cache (man vs Suburb) but I managed to be hit by a dog on the way back! SurprisedSadTwisted
It did some damage to my right leg, hip and shoulder SadTwisted[xx(]Surprised
That being said, I had a ball at the event and enjoyed catching up with the lovely geocachers who attended CoolBig Grin[^]

Of course Mary & David were there. A bit of a rush for us to get here, as we had an appointment to pay the deposit on a new kitchen, and it started a bit late. Our hostess was indeed looking very summery. Hard to believe how close we are to Easter, it's now next month, and that means Mega Morisset here we come! Back here again in only a few weeks too. Our thanks to sharkiefan.

03-Feb-18

We made an appearance and talked for a while. With a small group it was much easier to catch up with all. Thanks sharkie for the event.

Arrived post the official end time due to a bit of an engrossing wander around Herring Island although it seems no one had left!
Chatted to the familiar suspects and now regret not having said hello to a couple of others there so I could put faces to names. Next event!

Thank you sharkiefan for organising this event. I enjoyed catching up with friends and meeting some new friends. I was lucky to win the right to claim the FTF bragging rights.
I will be driving with my family from Melbourne to the Gold Coast at Easter. We are then continuing on to Cairns later in April. Today I was able to learn about some great caches to find in Northern Queensland.

Thanks to sharkiefan for this event. The second one for me in this week, nice to meet again. What a wondefull day. Inspired me to organize my own event, when I am back in Melbourne in September. (;

Thanks Sharkiefan for the event.
Though with the kids just back at school I didn't really like the reminder that the next lot of school holidays were only 8 weeks away.
While we are still not sure what we are doing at easter it was great to catch up with everybody. A smaller group of people made it a lot easier to have a chat with most of them (as with our troops sometimes this can be a little difficult).

Now it wouldn't be caching if we didn't have an adventure to tell.
Firstly apologies to Mr80 degrees who was almost decapitated by the kids frisbee.
Now this frisbee was adopted by the kids after they macgyvered a contraption to get it out of a tree while doing a multi at batman park about 12 months ago.
Now if only we had Locus Cache and Muzza there on that day too. Today instead of a technical tree climb it was a technical toilet block climb. Yep thanks to the kids the frisbee landed on the roof. Well it wasn't long before 2 wonderful volunteers offered to help. Locus Cache with the most amazing extendable ladder (yes the kids would love one of these) and Muzza for climbing up the ladder to retrieve the frisbee. Thank you so much.

Thanks sharkiefan for organising today... a very pleasant afternoon chatting with old friends and new. It helped me realise that there is nothing wrong with low-key events because it's the camaraderie that matters!

When it was time to leave I took the long way round back to my car so I could stop off for a couple of caches along he way.

Thanks shsrkiefan for organising this event. lovely to meet up with old and new faces. Lovely day.

A great location with lots of car parking available. Had fun getting there though. Obviously used the wrong road as the traffic was horrendous. Simply following the GPS is not the best option sometimes.
All good once there chatting to so many friends and to some new people too.
Thanks for putting on this Easter event sharkiefan. Easter is so close it is scary!!

03-Feb-18
I arrived just as the festivities were starting. Nice to meet some of the old friends and meet and chat with some new ones.

Thanks to Sharkiefan for coming up with an excuse for an event, then organising it! Smile

It was a long haul but I am very glad I made it. Great to catch up with many more people than I expected to. The distance travelled is always worth while to get a hug from Mary.
It was also a bonus meeting an international visitor, and the Plowfive family whose Virtual I'd spent the morning doing in the city.
As I had travelled by train I had not brought a seat with me, and I found it very difficult to stand for that length of time, for, of course, many of us remained chatting long after the event ended.
I dropped in two trackables which fortunately were quickly snapped up.
Congratulations to the person in charge of weather - you did an excellent job

02-Feb-18
will be there with Zedaycee

02-Feb-18
I haven't been to an Event since last July...maybe I should make an effort and get there!

02-Feb-18
Might make it to this one, but will see on the day.

02-Feb-18
Since I'm in Melbourne, I'm probably going to turn up at this event.

Hoping to attend this one on my own
Intending to travel by train to the Alphington station and walk up, if the weather is fine
