Caching with alunb while staying at the golf club, saw this one and realised I could work it out, nice hide

13-Feb-24
Parked up in my motorhome, next to nufrat today at the golf course, so we set out to grab a couple of caches nearby. Jill had quickly solved this so we made a point to head past while in the area. Really nice along here this afternoon with the tide out, and a quick find despite the nice camo, TFTC

24-Feb-23
Enjoyed the puzzle. The cache was great! Good camo. It took several looks before we saw it.

02-Dec-22
Another cache that was on my to do list. Had been in the area some time ago but had not solved this one. Back today to grab the well made cache. Thankyou for the placement.

19-Oct-22
We had a day over in the bay hiking and geocaching and enjoying the sun - magic! I wanted to pick this one up after solving it recently. Great spot here - clever camo - TFTC and the puzzle

16-Aug-22
Back on the mainland after our excursion to Matakana Island, but enough time left in the day to chase down a few more caches.
I made my way to gz and spotted a likely hiding spot as i approached.
I could see something suspicious, and upon investigation quickly had the nicely camo'd cache in hand.
Thanks for setting this up

28-Jun-22
Super neat hide but geosenses helped to grab it quickly.

01-Mar-22
I like these nice puzzles, easy solve. Came here after doing the Ad Lab. Co-ordinates seem a little out but looked in the obvious spots. Quickly located. Fav point for a good puzzle & cool cache disguise. Tft

01-Mar-22
A great puzzle, jointly solved with Kimbathelion. Out tonight to find it. Co-ordinates a little out on my phone, but soon located a really cool cache. Defo worthy of a favourite point.

26-Feb-22
Got the weekend off
Decided to head over this way
Did the puzzle sometime ago so nice to get the final
Nice find
Also still nice and dry

26-Feb-22
Off on a weekend away with ABCDF4
Nice hide thanks to CO

13-Feb-22
We had planned to come and visit Omokoroa so had a look at the mysteries in this area. There was one similar cache in Auckland that took me a very long time to solve as I had never heard of this tool, not anymore Smile TFTC

26-Jan-22
Inordinately proud of our first mystery cache! Thanks for taking us to a beautiful wee spot in our own neighbourhood that we had never found!

06-Jan-22
Our first find of our day exploring the area and what a great cache to start with.
We took a few minutes to find the best way to GZ but once we had worked that out we soon had the cache in hand.
Such excellent camo, almost had us fooled, a favourite point for sure.

20-Dec-21
This one has been on our solved list for a long time. Today we were in the area and after completing the adventure lab we continued on walking to gz where the well camouflaged cache was soon spotted. TFTP

15-Sep-21
Made the solve on this some time back, and finally got out here on an appropriately wet day and slip slides my way down.

Really appreciated the craft on this cache and FP given.

12-Jul-21
We had tried this one some time ago, when it was linked to an NFC reader. Our technology had failed us back then. However, we have just noticed that that component had been removed from the solve, so we were able to come up with the solved co-ordinates after all. Happy days!

Clever cache hide too.... today was our lucky day though being able to locate the well crafted hide fairly quickly; we had started with the more obvious location; which paid off for us.

21-Feb-21
Really cool hide. Took about 20m to find. Tftc

13-Feb-21
I had no clue about the other apps and tricks that accompany Geocaching so this was a learning curve. Managed to stumble upon the right app and got the coordinates needed.
Gps at gz was bouncing, plus I was questioning my answer. Needed some help from co to get the cache in hand (annoyingly I had actually touched it!).
Thanks for bringing me to this hidden walkway I didn't know about!

10-Feb-21
First attempt at a puzzle cache and managed to get to the location. Far too many sneaky hidey spots for me, will try again sometime.

Whilst in the area tidying up a few solved puzzle caches, we decided today was the day to collect this one. Mrs Geckoh is unsure whether Mr Geckoh has an acutely bad instinct for picking tracks or whether he just likes tormenting Mrs Geckoh by making a terrain 2. 5 cache into a terrain 4.5! He would say, "well, we got there in the end, didn't we?" That is hardly the point when you are scratched up, hot and sweaty! Suffice to say, we understood the cache title when we located it and the log was eventually signed, Needless to say, Mrs Geckoh chose the return path! TFTPC (and scratches, but I guess you can't be blamed for those!)

Just visiting Omokoroa from Nelson and saw this simple puzzle cache almost outside the property I was staying in. Took my muggle brother on a walk to make the find and his local knowledge made for a quick trip to GZ while a bit of caching sense then made for an equally quick find of this well disguised cache. Very impressed and certainly worth a favorite. TFTC Macwatt Kahluis.

Today I have checked the cache ...I have updated it making it slightly simpler.... it is all set to be found ...enjoy

I have never seen this idea for a cache before so saw this before coming down to Tauranga and downloaded the appropriate software to my phone. Pulled up at the right spot and everything worked perfectly.

Needless to say, it's not our first rodeo so when three words popped up we knew exactly what to do and in the absence of a phone app got the answer we needed from geocachingtoolbox.

Got to GZ after the solve and there were a few places to look - I fixated on the wrong spot and Bennett24 was cleverer than me and found the well - camouflaged cache after a good hunt.

Thanks for the cache, all good here.

18-May-19
We had done one of these caches before in Tauranga but Mrs B wasn't here this time with her phone so glad I was with Tuolei who had the right equipment and software to read the first stage. We sourced the required information first before grabbing several other caches and then moving on to this one.

Quite a few places to look at GZ and I was fortunate enough to spy something that looked superstitious after several minutes and found the well hidden cache, very nice camo here - will FP it when we get one. TFTC.

I’ve placed both an NFC cache and a What.Three.Words cache back in Taranaki, so had the capable phone and the necessary app to quickly locate GZ.
After 10 minutes searching, the actual cache and log was eluding me. One last search before I’d decide 6-months between finds probably means it’s been muggled. Once again I picked up the cache but this (third) time I noticed IT WAS the cache. Very nice. Another favourite point given out today, and deservedly so. TFTC

Cool camo, tftc

Great cache, found with mum. Tftc

01-Oct-18
I thought we could use bellbox’s android tablet but that device wasn’t supported either (i’m on iphone). So, using all available info, i decided we’d give it a go, and managed to find it in the first place we looked, but overlooked at first pass. Another great hide! Tftc

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... The plan was to take the ferry to Matakana Island, but time constraints and procrastination interfered with today's plan... Onward with Plan B!

I discovered that the technology that enables this cache doesn't work so well on my iPhone. I came prepared with an app that didn't fire for me, but Gap had a back up plan sorted for today. After a brief scratch around ground zone, another great piece of camouflage was identified. TFTP and TFTC.

20-May-18
Last cache of the day as it was getting late we just went straight to the final as Tnxpro has done this previously although he did let me actually look for the cache and discover the well camouflaged cache which gives of s pleasant smell.
Tftc

Headed out for a days worth of caching in the company of HKCB & 11HPG11 for a group of 14 targeted caches in the BOP area. Some that we had been collectively working on for some time. As I was about to head off on holiday it was to be our last venture out for a little while and as its always nice to grab a few caches over this way.
There were not too many people about herer today and so it did not take long to gather the required information needed. Ninth of the days caching adventure and fifth of the specifically targeted caches (and or attributes).
Very interesting that this was located at 155m from a Traditional of their own placement. Wonder how they got that past with the Reviewers approval?????????
Thanks for the placement, thanks for the cache

12-May-18
Another jaunt over the Kaimai's to tackle the every growing list of caches over here. With C&D and 11HPG11 in tow, as well as a trailer full of yaks, the plan for the day was to get into McLaren falls as early as possible to give the new virtual ago, then head into TGA to target a few of the more technological caches in the area, and of course anything else that was nearby.

Like the use of the tech on this puzzle. Having found a few of these now we had no problems getting coords. HPG quickly spotted something out of place here and soon had the cache in hand. Upon logging found on the GPS the next cache popped up only 155m away. Was a little confused how this one got through the cracks?

The trip was a great success with all caches we attempted turned into smilies. A huge thanks to the CO's for the hides!!

12-May-18
Another mission over to the BOP with HKCB and Cats&Dragons. Left Hamilton at some crazy time, who knows if it was night or morning! Lollies and rain coats were packed as the forecast wasn't looking too great but turns out we got the best of the worst weather. Another last minute puzzle solving spree meant today we focused on Whereigos, puzzles and a handful of trads for good measure.

A quick stop to grab the NFC info and we were off to the final. A lovely area to visit, thanks for showing us this spot.

27-Apr-18
Had the opportuity today to come here armed with a family members phone due to me having an ipone, soon had all the required info and headed to GZ. I nearly slip, slided away!! Went further than I had to at the start, due to the tide being out....WRONG MOVE...was very slippery. Haha a fantastic hide McW as per your usual self, I have to award a FP, (my last one)...Dot days dont do much for collecting points to give, will be glad when its over!! Cheers.

15-Apr-18
After being out here yesterday and getting myself and the car all dirty I thought I would come out again with Geoff and see if iPhone yuppies could do this one After talking to the CO yesterday I thought I would have another go at downloading the app and low and behold it worked.

10.35am - Had down loaded app on my phone so arranged to meet NZ Flossy on site this morning. Nothing seemed to work on site for us so a quick PAF and help arrived. Good cache. SLTFTC

On our arrival in Tauranga a few days ago we stopped by here to get the information for the final, confident we knew what to do. But GZ was a hive of activity with trenches being dug and fences blocking our access to where we assumed the tag would be. A cursory glance at the only other object nearby didn't reveal anything, though we had no idea what the tags looked like. After getting information from the CO that the tag was still accessible (and having completed another NFC cache so we knew what we were looking for), we returned after hours for another go. We had trouble initially spotting the tag, it blends in so well. But after that it was straight forward, and we had what we needed to find the cache. By this time it was nearly dark, and as we were intending to stay nearby, we decided to make the hunt for the final in the morning,
Today we made the short walk to collect the cache, enjoying the views along the way. Once at GZ the hint item was obvious, and we made a quick find of the very nicely constructed and camoed cache. Giving this one a Favourite point.

31-Mar-18
Once i found the tag as its faded, managed to get the next stage. Got to GZ after walking down the long drive way. (for me it was a 4.5). I should have gone with my first thought of where it would be. Thanks for the adventure

TNXPro was on a mission today to clear a little bit more of Waihi and with no plans of my own I figured I'd may as well join him. We were on our way home now and I figured one last cache. I hadn't anticipated getting this one so hadn't packed my other phone but TNXPro had his so we were good to go. I felt quite exposed at the first wpt - like everyone was watching us. Fortunately these NFC tags are pretty muggle proof and it didn't take long before we had what we needed.

We made our way down to GZ admiring the beautiful homes as we pasted. Then suddenly the cache title became all too clear. The damage was amazing and left me pondering how long this tree would survive for? But back to business and the hunt began. Was it there? yeh nah yeh nah YEAH! Clever camo and good use of materials. Enjoyable cache all up. Cheers Macwatt. I was pondering though if going to one spot (wpt) to obtain co-ordinates for another spot (final) - would that in fact constitute a multi rather then a puzzle? In any case, TFTC Smile

After a trip clearing out Waihi, Philip.Perry and I targeted this cache on the way home and now I know why he was so keen on doing this with me. I had the only Android device so it was up to me to perform the NFC part and find the coordinates. (Its pretty unfair to those iPhone users without that capability, but thats their fault for having an iPhone I guess!)
Anyway, it was a nice walk down to GZ and then the title became all to obvious. I see the makings of a brand new island.
While I was still taking pics in the area P.P found the cleverly disguised and pleasantly smelling cache quickly.
I smell success!

Saw this go up yesterday but I was at work. And I knew I could solve this too. Lol!! So today is a day off... just one more day you could of waited Macwatt /Kahluis.... Lol!! Weather being poo and nothing else to do I decide a trip out here is in order. Now I know how to do these it was a quick bleep and solved. Off to gz knowing roughly what sort I was looking for and bingo there it was. And ooohhh doesn't Macwatt smell nice. Lmao!!! Or is Kahluis?? Lol!! As I said just one more day..... But been second here is pretty cool too. Getting close to FTF on a puzzle. I have them on Night caches not on puzzles. Patience. No crazy stories here...today I got to keep my jeans on. Tftc and a nice simple puzzle.

Got the notification this morning but my phone was switched off last night so I had no idea when it actually came through. No logs though so might as well give it a go. Also, it's not the middle of the night so the usual suspects might actually be at work / asleep. Grabbed the tag quickly but forgot to note the hint -doh! A quick conversion gave me the co-ordinates - not too far. Now how the hell do I get down there. Naturally I found the dodgy overgrown and blocked path and discovered the easy way when I got to GZ. Checked a few likely spots with no success. Flax hide? Not the CO's style. Remembered this technique gives a 3m x 3m box so widened my search. One object attracted me. Looked under some stuff. Nope. Hang on. Does it? Yes. Brilliant camouflage! Now comes the moment of truth. Is the log clean? Yes! [FTF]. WOO-HOO! Definite favorite point for the great puzzle and great camouflage. TFTC.
