Thanks! Great little cache! We had a picnic nearby, and thought to check to see if there were any caches. Found 28/10/24
Out with my lady to find some caches and doing the adventure lab. Great spot to go after work. Thank you for taking us here.
Out for a nice walk with my man, beautiful area. Enjoyed finding the cache, thanks!
**#21,741**Fake news! Fake News! Surely tell us its Fake News, is Emperor Drumpf really set to make a comeback?!?This one was a bit of a navigation to get to, managed that, then it was a good 10 minute search to locate, finally located it at 21.39!
#927 The battleground was near a horsehoe-shaped pond. We fought hard to get to the cache, which was well guarded by cutty grass. Its sharp blades drew first blood. Ah well, war is not without casualties!
After a nice little waltz around ,managed to find this cache. W mrpretty. Cute day out with him. Tftc
SEEK84 and I arrived in New Zealand early in the morning on 3-14-24. There were some caches that we really wanted to find and log. SEEK84 had been in contact with G_2 and Gorbygorbachov about helping us pick up several geocaches by cachers from the states. These caches were placed and maintained by G_2 here in New Zealand. They agreed to help us and boy did they provide us with not only geocaches but barrels of fun and laughter. I referred to them as a couple of characters. After fifteen minutes we felt like we had known them for years. Favorite point. Thanks for the caches but more for the hospitality.
Woo Hoo! I have known EJKPBR (Emperor Drumpf) for almost 5 years. When we realized we would be in Auckland for the cruise and found out Eric had a cache placed in Auckland, I was on a mission to find and sign his cache. Thanks to the help of two local cachers, G_2 and Gorbygorbachov, our names are on the new log sheet. Photos were taken to send to our former SD friend as proof of our Auckland adventure with Glyn and Mike. It was a great afternoon of laughter and learning. Thanks a million EJKPBR, G_2 our driver and Gorbygorbachov.
Replaced with military style match container, under roots at base of tree. We just could not find the original container.
Stealthily approached GZ to assist, all is currently well at the outpost it seems. Progressing onward to check the situation in other locations. TFTC!
While the rest of the country were glued to their tvs for the final game, we had the choice of making an uninterrupted ram raid somewhere or snatching a cache to sign. We chose this latter one before cyclone Lola hit. No feet were wet in the process. As G-2(2 = second rate) was no doubt pre- occupied, the Westies scored.
#2 Northernlite finally got his hand on it...and left blood. Previous hints helped! Visiting from Canada. TFTC!
Initially tried finding this one at night in the rain, not a good idea with recent conditions and my feet were sodden so gave up.
Returned in daylight and it was a much easier task. Followed the trodden path into the bushes and there it was in front of me

Enjoyed the hunt. Route in was harder than the route out. Nice spot for a cache. TFTC
Here we came to find the cache!
First we had to go aaall the way around the pond. Most amusing.
Took a bit of back and forth, even with a past finder calling instructions.
Came back out, had a rethink then back in again where i pushed past the aptly named long grass to spy it not much further away. Huzzah!
So happy there's no snakes in this country. Searching for this in Australia would have had my blood pumping and anxiety peaking.
Thanks for showing us somewhere i definitely would never have been without geocaching to guide me.

Wow, what a detour around the water…luckily we found it! Thanks for a great caching day, Sharkbait and Smallwombat.
Damn! Now who enjoys logging a DNF? Like others, also got very close to giving up, but a last “push through” revealed the openly sneaky cache… TFTC!
Based on other logs I was worried it would be more difficult but it was found with ease while doing the Adventure Lab. Tftc.
this was a fun little adventure to find this cache and im glad i brought a jacket even though it was a rather warm day. we looked in a few different places before we managed to find it. TFTC
Well that was an adventure.
We were trying to combine the AdLab with some of the caches we had left to find in this park. Couldn't spot a way around at first so carried on further along the path, then found a way around the stormwater pond. Made our way down the middle and tried to decide which tree might be the right one. I tried one side with no luck, GeohoundandI tried the other side because of something she had read in a log. But I still thought I might be right, so had another try on my side. Then went deeper and deeper. Suddenly I spotted the cache. The only thing was GeohoundandI had my bag with the pen in it. Should I throw the cache to her or get her to squeeze through the cutty grass? Well I can't throw and she had long sleeves on, so problem solved.
Heading back we thought we might follow the grass path and see if where we came out. Ended up jumping across the stream by the first cache we found, and by that I mean the geohound ploughed through the water and we got wet feet.

Not as bad as previous logs suggest. Maybe because KR went ahead and I stayed out of the thickestbits. Tftc
A nice quick find. The entry points are a bit quidgy, but good enough to get there. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are in Auckland for a break and we are exploring the region while we are based here. The weather was good today, and the last day of our break, home tomorrow. It's been a great break and we have seen quite a bit of the area, but there is more!
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

As arriving at GZ we had a feeling where it would be as the previous logs said there was heaps of cutty grass. Searched in the area of what I thought it was but sadly there was nothing there. Went bush bashing and getting cuts everywhere on my hands. We had a struggle for a bit, then checked in the same spot again as some spots haven't been checked. M13 said I found it and was excited as there were 3 DNFs before us. Terrain rating might need to be adjusted as GZ is overgrown but we headed back up to the car in excitement.

Started my geocaching journey today. Found my first cache this morning, a nice and easy find. Was hoping this would be my second but after spending a bit of time on my hands and knees being battling through the cutty grass i gave up and headed home feeling very defeated. Will come back another day fully covered this time with gloves etc. and give this another go
DNF
After searching for at least 15 minutes in the humid Summer conditions we decided to give this one a DNF and find more. I hope to return back to this cache someday!

Well this will be my last find for the day, and after a few previous DNF I must confess I was not looking forward to the impending battle with cutty grass
With the help of the map, I was able to navigate myself to the point, without a bush bash, or swim with the ducks. Once at GZ it got a little complicated. Searched initially in the wrong spot, only a few metres out, but was hopeful these trees where the right trees.
Sadly no, so had to increase my GZ. Then the cutty grass really started to reveal themselves, and yes, the cache is over there. I initially got over there, did not locate the cache, came out, stood on the grass, walked up a little along the path, and then knew I had to go back and look again.
Lets say the cutty grass claimed some DNA, and I wish I had some gloves with me. But alas not to be, so this time explored the tree way over there, and this time spotted the decon.
With the prize in hand, I was soon signing the log, but suspect the D/T rating might need to be changed a little to reflect the change to GZ?
So all good with hide, happy to be earning the smiley, thanks G-2, a fun find for me today
Time to get home, its after 5pm, and the traffic is going to be challenging

Found with Ninja_star and Hbomb, took a slightly roundabout route around the cutty grass, so managed to come out unscathed
I had to navigate around the cutty grass to get to this one and mainly managed it unscathed. There were plenty of mallard ducks on the pond. TFTC
#867 getting to the cache took a bit of a tiki tour since it wasn't maker on my map, but once at GZ, the geotrail was visible and the cache was soon in hand, despite the few possibilities that matched the hint. TFTC
Definitely needed to have a look at multiple trees. But found in the end. Recommend wearing long sleeves to protect against the curry grass
After installing a handrail at the sister-in-law's we sought out this area to have a picnic lunch, and find a cache that could take a trackable that we had had in our possession a tad too long. Got within 35m of the cache but stymied for awhile until we sussed out the sneaky route in. Thought we'd be cunning on the way out, by going the other way, but ended up walking even further. A lovely day for geocaching, and a very nice spot that you have brought us to. TFTC.
Last cache of the day and a nice little side track to take to GZ. took me too long as I turned off wrong and took some unnecessary steps but all good in the end and soon found the cache after a battle with cutty grass. Sighted an interesting dead fish in the pond afterwards - will add pic later.
We have our daughter up for a week and are entertaining as we go. It being the weekend it's busy as ever, and a trip out to Browns Bay was mrs capperz's choice of activity. We headed out and along the beach walkway, and back through the town before heading off to a park that mrs c had been to with my Aunt and Uncle last year sometime. Only a couple of cache options were available but 3 finds were made there, and I headed out to Te Atatu later in the day.

The seals have been found by the West and resupply.
In a recent study only 5% of Americans were able to find New Zealand on a map and all who located nz were in favor of the decision to side with the west.
Thanks for maintaining this cach.

First find of the day after trying many trees! Might have given up sooner if it wasn’t for the ya t we didn’t want to start the day with a DNF. Cool spot. Tftc.
This little spot was really cool! I wouldn’t have known it was there. However I didn’t manage to find the box, will have to try again another time.
Really nice spot over here!
Very recently cut grass made it easy to walk over, lots of birds!
Thanks for showing me this little spot!
Logbook nice and full! Soon no space!

Have looked before but this was the first time managed to find this one. Great that th lawn was mowed! Still a bit of water issue and full log. TFTC
Yay! 2 out of 2 today. Nice one but the inner container is broken and letting in water, didn’t have a replacement unfortunately
Maybe because I’m new to this (first day), I couldn’t find it. Will check back in future to see if others have found.
