I am archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in a prior reviewer note.
Hi nigella6699This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.RegardsTheCoddiwompler
What a lovely and huge camping/picnic area. I spent quite a bit of time searching for this one but couldn't track it down. It sounds as though it is still there but I couldn't find it but really enjoyed munching on the apples while looking.
After reading the DNF logs I was surprised to find this one very quickly and easily! Had a lovely time camping nearby, beautiful spot. Thanks for the cache!
Very disappointing not to find this one - looked everywhere but no luck. Very overgrown
Found this while stopping for a cuppa in our motorhome. Not sure what the tennis ball hint was although I did find a munted ball on the walk up. No muggles around except hubby. Lol. Left our motor home de la rue card say hi if you see us along the way. Happy finding. Sue.
Had to be a little careful here - a couple of boats coming out of the water. But a quick find so all good - tftc
Nice easy find here ...but hint needs attention lol I think the dog .may have taken the ball .. new container is all good..thanks Nigella6699
Catching up on some logging seeing the weather has deteriorated. The area is busy as today. First time we've been here. The lake is quite large and well patronized. Thanks for bringing us here nigella6699.
After a fleeting extended family weekend getaway to Tekapo to see the flowering lupins it was time to head homewards. We all stopped here for a picnic lunch.....hot as...and busy as with plenty of families boating and jetskiiing and kayaking....geepers. Wandered here for a quick find and sign. Thanks. Will need to come back to try for the rest. Cheers!
A miserable day and a trip to Fairlie for the mid-winter fete led us to find a few in places we've only been to when there are lots of muggles around. Very clever place to watch the view. Container was out in open on a tussock so have tucked underneath.
Lovely stay beside a very dry lake in the motorhome. Thanks to the locals for sharing such a beautiful and peaceful spot.
Found on a nice bike ride in the area. This is the lowest I have seen this dam
We are taking our cat Coco on a motorhome and Geocaching holiday. She looks after our home while we go off in Suzy on GC adventures.
Our first of the day, cache no longer tennis ball or yellow. Still happy to find and sign log.
Thanks for the cache nigella6699.

Thanks for the cache nigella6699.
We stayed close by last night and went for a walk around this lovely area this am. Mr nzk teased that there were no caches nearby, then admitted actually there was one only 160m away, so obviously we had to find it. Quick find, cache in good condition but we didn’t see how it was related to the hint object? TFTC nigella6699.
JDSCOUT and I are having a campervan holiday in Fairlie. Today's mission was to bike to the lake. Now to decide whether we go on the four wheel drive track or t he road. to the next one. Thanks Bitsprayer for creating this hide. It was find 9777 for me.

Another good find going from cache to cache with woolwood9.SL: **tm/ww NZ**Thanks for putting this out for us to visit, we enjoyed the drive / walk around!*Good find on the trail.*
Early evening walk after a blisteringly hot day. Cool breeze now so ideal for getting out and about. Thanks CO and previous finder for fixing the cache for us to find
Since the cache isn’t a tennis ball any more and a kinder surprise isn’t waterproof at all (and CO logged last time 2 years ago) I decided to replaced cache container, now is all black eclipse with new waterproof logbook and ziplock bag.
Place is the same. Be careful, plenty muggles around.
HINT -> corner post

Found on a great walk to the dam. The log here was unusable, picture attached. Tftc!
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on an afternoon drive to Lake Opuha.
Not an easy find in the long wet grass, but SW stuck at it and found this micro (not small) cache. There was a speed boat out on the lake, and we were surprised to see how low the lake level was.
Decided that the 4WD track was a bit too rutted and muddy for our car so didn't drive on to the next cache and we were too weary from walking this morning to walk to it. TFTC.

#18499. This one took a bit of finding. Log too wet to find, so took photo. We went a short distance down the 4WD track, but it got a bit serious for the Outback, so we did a U turn and drove down the road to get to the dam. TFTC.
Second time around to have a go.
Quickly retrieved.
Logbook very wet.
Certainly no tennis ball
Yellow yes and quarter of the size of a tennis ball.

Quick find with the wee fella. Lovely spot! Log was a bit damp but still ok to write on. TFTC
A quick and easy find first on the lake today. Cheers
A fine weekend so time for a road trip to South Canterbury!

Took a bit longer than expected, certainly not like the hint, but like others listened to previous geocachers and found it. Beautiful spot with the lake and snow capped mountains. TFTC
We almost gave up!! Glad we didn't. Read another person's clue that it isn't in a tennis ball.... Log book is a bit wet
Camping futher on up the Lake for three nights with a group of Muggle Friends.We took two of them on a Tiki Tour to find a couple of Caches..Our Muggle Friend found it for us.Lovely spot in here with a couple of good sized Rainbow Trout swimming close to the Boat Ramp...TFTH

Had to be a bit stealthy with this cache as there were muggles about, but found d no problem. TFTC!
10.50: Exploring Lake Opuha. Another fast and reliable find at roadside. The only question here: Is the footwear part of the cache or maybe not[?] Anyway, it made a good hint for our search. As BaldEd told already, there was a substantial difference between the hint and the hidden container.
Weather: overcast, low clouds, drizzle, 11°C;
Wheelchair: overgrown, on the road only, close enough to watch;
State: all good, dry, bring a pen!
Thank you!

Drove out to check on camping facilities at Lake Opuha, and after parking at the Bennetts Road Camp I walked to the 4 wheel drive track. At GZ, the hint said "tennis ball". There was no tennis ball! Instead, I managed to root out a Kinder Surprise container from among the long grass and took it away with me as I headed off seeking the next cache on the way to the dam. As I walked, I broke open the Kinder Surprise egg and was surprised to find it had the cache's logbook! What happened to the 'tennis ball"? The Kinder Surprise container was returned an hour or so later as I returned to the cachemobile.
nice easy find on a beautiful Saturday... plenty of people enjoying the water sports at the lake and a great way for me to get some exercise and a [FTF] to boot .... another great cache Niall now on to the next one TFTC
