On a bus trip from Auckland to Nay of Islands, stopping off at the Kauri museum for lunch. My first find in New Zealand. YAY !! TFTC xx
After visiting the museum nearby, we found this cache. While we were signing the log, one of the teens was making friends with the cows next door, and the other was exploring the church. TFTC.
A little stop off after visiting the museum. Son nearly had a Weta in the face while looking for it!

Out for a walk with the dogs on a lovely evening. Found with StonyCroft. TFTC!!!
**Log about this cache:**In the evening it was a quite place out here**General log:**After years of planning and the canceling of trip due to the corona crisis, the time had finally come:****"more than 5 weeks in New Zealand".**And how beautiful it was!Visited both the north and south islands, many tourist attractions have a cache nearby so I could do some as well.Lots of virtuals and earth caches too and traditionals. But also done a few multi caches here and there also even a mystery and wherigo cache. The trip to New Zealand was great and we saw a lot of nice places. The country has so many different types of landscapes. And the nice thing was that it is winter in the Netherlands but summer in New Zealand Too bad it takes so long to fly and that the flight is so expensive otherwise i can go here next year again. Now you can enjoy it, logging the caches is also part of it. I will try to email the answers for the earthcaches and virtual caches to the relevant co`s as soon as possible. But first log all caches and upload the photos .Submitted via Garmin Live Geocaching
Easy one!

We, geosnuf and I, are on holiday in New Zealand.
Partly thanks to geocaches, such as this one, we come to many beautiful and special places.
We are on our way up north to Kerikeri, and visit the Kauri museum!
We enjoy the beautiful nature, the pleasant encounters and the many nice caches.
Cache owners thank you for taking us here and for placing and maintaining this cache.

# 1992 Another wet weekend away with the fam. Stayed the weekend at Pahi for the purpose of visiting the fantastic Kauri museum nearby. Killed many hours inside and around the area. Stoked there was a cache nearby to jump start the geocaching thing...my first in a while.
dangerSAM was in charge but was a but hesitant to explore the host (good boy) so i suggested, as I do many times a day, look with your eyes! Easily found after that.

We stopped at Matakohe for refreshments as we headed south to Auckland and took the opportunity to seek out three caches while we were there.
A quick find with the aid of the hint, signed the log and carefully replaced the cache as found, trying not to disturb the tiny cache guardian!
TFTC.

Taking a scenic route from Auckland to Paihia, we made a stop here to visit the Kauri museum and to get some food and drinks. I walked around a bit to enjoy the sunshine and to log two caches here. Found this one after having a look inside the little church. Tftc

A beautiful, well-kept cemetery. And another hole being dug. Not the best time of the year for a new "client". A fantastic outlook though. Thanks for bringing us here suppernanny
Found on this gorgeous spring day while exploring Matakohe, the museum and historical buildings. Very much worth the visit.
Didn’t have a pen, so hope this photo evidence suffices!

Wandered across the road after visiting the museum. Oh supernanny, you get around. A lovely spot and a nice way to remember your forebears. Thanks.
Was up here today for an e-bike ride around the area and stopped here for a quick find. TFTC
Thanks for this cache, supernanny, and I apologise for the late log. I was exploring the area and stopped to look at the Kauri Museum, coming over here afterwards. Stunning views and very peaceful.
Lovely day travelling up north, great visit to the museum, very interesting to wander around the cemetery, tftc
A quick stroll from the road in to find this one. Even had time to stop and smell the roses on the way back out. A quick find here in very pleasant surroundings. TFTC.
Well Covid has put a bit of a spanner in the works. With very few caches left to find in Northland, the intention had been to do a trip to Auckland in September to get the numbers necessary for this month's souvenir. However, with little chance of Akl being at Level 2 any time soon, a trip was planned to south west Northland to clear the few remaining caches in that area.
A real bonus of this 300 km trip today, was that I actually visited several places that I have never been to before, despite living in Northland for over 60 years. That's one of the great things about geocaching - it takes you to new and interesting places.
A beautiful old church here and very well kept cemetery. Cache was a nice quick find in the hint location. TFTC

The rest of the crew in the car had all found this, but tuolei generously offered to divert here for me to find this one. There is a huge wasp nest around the rear of the building so there were a few buzzing around GZ. One of team helped me get in and out quickly so as to avoid them. TFTC
On our caching journey up to the north with EyeSpyBen to sort out a few more caches and a couple of series, many miles driven over many days and many caches found, not to many dnfs
but lovely weather, Thanks to all the cache owners for the placements

1084. 3:15 pm. Day trip with a little geocaching. 8th find of the day. Love the Pohutukawa trees framing the views of the harbour. Found with eKitten, GRAkiWi &Co. TFT(boxed)C.
Up here looking through the Kauri Museum. Loved the churches here and the heritage roses nearby. Thanks for the cache supernanny.
After visiting the museum we decided to stay for the night, one hour wasn't enough. We parked nearby, as suggested by one staff member. Before the museum opened we went for morning walk and picked up this one. Easy find, using a picture (once you know what you look for makes it easier). At first look we didn't find it, ad you need the right angle to spot it. Both container and logbook were in good condition. Thanks for placing the cache.
We are on our summer holiday, we usually take a few weeks and travel around the South Island, but this year we are heading around the North Island. Heading up the West coast and back down the East coast. Finding only a select few caches along the way, we are mostly targeting some challenges we have qualified for, some large size caches, some that fill gaps in our date placed grid, a few D/T combinations, some with lots of favourite points, letterboxes and anything else that grabs our fancy.
I had a fall on day two of our holiday, while out geocaching which has resulted in a fractured bone in my leg and I am in a moon boot and with crutches and I was told to keep weight off my leg. So I am only limited use when it comes to our trip now. I tend to stay in the campervan and just hand out suggestions of when and where GK should search.
A nice quick find here, we spent a bit of time here looking around and feeling sad for all of the children and babies and young people who are buried here. We had a look through the church as well while we were there. A humbling way to spend some time this evening.
Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley.

We're on our way through to Dargaville to have a look around for the weekend and took a driving stop here to stretch two sets of human legs and four hound legs - the hound in particular enjoyed the walk.
Strolled down and quickly found the cache as described in the hint no problem. All good here - thanks for the cache - really beautiful place to come for a walk, well worth walking down the path past the roses.

Beautiful church - a stand out ! We are visiting matakohe region purely curious tftc
Away in the Geocamper for a couple of weeks doing TMGT's and other stuff. Decided we should turn off the highway and find these few caches at Matakohe. Turned off and parked and suddenly the GPS was saying 438 metres. What.??? That can't be right. So Mr S got out his trusty Garmin and said it's not here, it's over there. Backtrack and start again. Then we had no trouble finding it, but why did it have to start raining. We visited the museum quite few years ago and it was very interesting. And don't you love those intrepid ancestors who migrated from the other side of the world with 7 children in tow, and ended up in Matakohe. Mrs S's ancestors did the same only they settled in the south island in an equally isolated area.
Thanks supernanny.
Thanks supernanny.
This is my second visit here. Always nice to visit items of times past.
