We started this series many years ago but for some reason didnt finish it and have never been back. Well today was the day to set that to rights and claim the rest of the smilies on offer. Cheers and TFTC.Gday there janssej, we were in this area today and found your cache W is for ??? The A-Z Series GC7HWFN. Our name was added to the log book at 7:40AM on 15 November 2024. A huge thanks to you for placing this cache here for us (and others) to find!We took up Geocaching on 3 March 2013 and this cache brings our total find count to - 15159.
Out and about on a beautiful spring day with Jaypre and Stepre not only finding some beautiful orchids but picking up a few caches as well. Thankyou to janssej for placing W is for ??? The A-Z Series for me and others to find.I added my name to the log at 13:46This is find number 418 for meTFTC
Nearly there! A quick find with all well here. Thanks for the hide. I am a bit envious of these properties and their ‘backyard’ being the reserve bushland.
With the end in sight we stopped for this one, with a few spits of rains dropping we made a nice quick find. We added our names to your log and returned your cache back to its place of hiding. Once again its always nice to do a welfare check on one that hasnt been found for awhile and happy to say this one is doing fine. TFTC janssej and muskcat83
We wanted somewhere to take a small bushwalk on a Sunday afternoon and this series looked like it might fit the bill. So after a lovely lunch at a nearby pub we headed off. It turned out to be quite a bit further than we thought with some lovely hills that don't quite show up on the contour map but it did turn out to be a lovely afternoon.

Not too much problem locating this in the obvious place
Found the whole set of caches today!
This set of caches took me approx 4hrs to find in total on a drizzly day.

Thank you so much for this series. Thoroughly enjoyed the walk and the company @kimmorley.
Marvelled at the variety and ingenuity of the caches, and managed to find all but 1.

Came out on this sunny day to collect this series. What a lovely walk through the trees. TFTS and apologies for the generic logs. Was a little confused here as this seems to be the cache that should be at 'B' (which we didn't find). There was a farmer on his tractor right there so we didn't look around for another one that started with a 'W'.
so I had a plan..I knew that the weather was going to be ordinary today but I thought get out early and I hopefully will stay dry..what an optimist..it started well and was a lovely stroll along this hilly horse riding trail ..I saw no one else which maybe should have been a harbinger but I looked back at a view towards the city and could see showers falling and thought all good..then when I was as far from the car as possible the heavens opened and continued..i cache by phone and although allegedly water resistant it certainly does not perform its best when big drops are falling on it..all these other apps started opening and playing..it was very frustrating..it reached that stage when I thought well I cannot get any wetter so I may as well just continue..great wander through this area and full marks for the ingenuity of the caches in the series..my personal favs were E and U..cache and log all good here tftc
I found this one quickly but it doesn’t match the clue, nor does it start with a ‘W’. It’s almost like it was meant to be for a different cache BUT it is a cache and it has a log, so I signed it.
Thanks for the hide janssej

Ahhh gotta love a road trip … nothing better on a wet horrid day out caching and converting those greens to sunny yellows Out with Mr and @ Ellemaree and her muggle + GEODOG Morry Graceling123 & Ambyfergs. Great laughs / fun dodging showers and getting some fresh air Enjoying the game plan and guessing … very competitive …TFTC
GPS as off but eventually found it after we expanded our search. With the gang and GeoDog
W is for Woohoo. Finally I have finished the whole series. I dont remember all these huge hills. Phew I sweating. TFTC
Existing cache went missing, new cache installed in its place. Hint has been updated
Enjoyed doing some of the A-Z Series with Mistraluna. Beautiful bushland . SL TFTC janssej & muskcat83
Took us longer than we thought to finish this one as the first time we came across this series "w" was missing. Revisited after maintenance had been completed but was aborted due to muggles. Today was our lucky day! Not sure about the Clues to what this one is- a bit of a stretch...
With a day off work today I decided to plan a day of geocaching, but where. After searching the map I came upon this area. After a 45min drive I arrived. Nice quiet area for a walk.
Quick find here, coords about 5m out. TFTC

After the previous weekend of doing A-F we started at Z today. Really recommend this series to anyone with children who don't mind doing a few kilometers of walking. Both my boys really enjoyed each cache and had a few key favourites being P, R, T and X
Turns out some of these help me towards this 'Birthday' challenge (GC8HZV6) so since they have been on the radar for a while I decided to make a start on the series today. After a couple of hours and a bit of huffing and puffing up some of those hills I was back at the car. I'll return another day to finish them off.
A quick find here in the first spot I checked.
janssej I found your cache at 11:09am, this was the 4th of 12 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 5933. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.

We did a bit of cross country to get to this from the other cache we had just visited. We chose relatively open bush to walk through and enjoyed to walk to the cache.
This cache was an interesting container but in the most likely place.
This is the last one we needed to finish the series.

just getting rid of the red spanner and changing the hint as the object has been changed!
Was out caching with Lazarus-68 and HHHeddy and decided to complete this series. we ended up taking turns in guessing and finding. sometimes we would all search together. Steve and i spent a good 15 minutes here searching and w ended up being - Wasted time searching for us. thanks for the cache muskcat83 & janssej
I DNF the walnut, at least that’s what I thought it was even though I’ve searched all the nasty hides .
Looked for a long time... No luck here. Probably to remote to come back unless I had a very good idea of the location or a second team wanted to do the run. Generally the coordinates have been varying from accurate to 11m. That's a big search if it's only one set of eyes at the time.
We decided to take the dogs for a walk and have another look for this one. It wasn't so bad when we set off and then it poured down. By the time we got our rain jackets out and unfolded we were wet. Put them on anyway and carried on. Searched everywhere for this one, poured down again we were soaking. Then we gave up and PAF thanks Me&B. Pleased to get this one it was one nasty hide!!!!!!!!!Thanks for the hide/series.
Out with VespistOz today to start this series. We tried to guess the containers but only managed 2 really, pretty sad aye?! Even though we guessed this one right we still searched high and low to no avail, GPS kept insisting it was 6m away though so thanks for pointing me in the right direction Graham.

Should be U for unbelievable! We guessed correctly but hunted high and low until Me&B was in the process of phoning a friend and found it in front of her. Evil hide.
We couldn't find this one we searched for ages and then decided to go and look for the next one and then have another look on the way back. still no luck but we will be back for another look .
This is my first bit of hill climbing since my hip operation. I decided to start from Z to test the hip out on the hilly and uneven ground first. If I had problems I would be close to the car while not as fatigued as I would have been going around the other way from A. I had no problems (besides finding the caches) but took it slow especially on the downhill section.
I located some of the caches easily but other had me in circles for significant periods of time. So much so that after 4 hours I had only completed 17 and after finding G, I decide to go back to the car.
Back at home looking at the collected information I worked out the coordinates for the final which I will hopefully find when I return to finish the series.
After being a little apprehensive at the start I enjoyed the walk and the great variety of caches along the way. I will return.
Thanks janssej for the cache.

Mrs fratra had to work so Mr fratra headed out to tackle the A - Z series with PP2.

A great day for geocaching with Parkacruz, not to hot, so we tackled a series and a few other caches today, even had another cacher on our tails. A few laughs over a very spectacular slip and fall by Parkacruz, but no damage done. tftc
Taking advantage of the cooler weather today and headed out with Neva2old for a great day of caching, we tackled a series and a few other caches, even had another cacher on our tails, love your little sign in the window A day filled with so much laughter, especially when this part of parkacruz had a some what glamorous slip come commando roll, how nothing is broken is amazing !! We loved this little series and the puzzle at the end, thanks for a great adventure and TFTC
No smiley here for me today, this was the only DNF for this series. I think I was looking more at the time than the GPS because it was getting late and I wanted to try "A" again.
A kind friend provided all the info we needed for a pleasant stroll and some quick finds. Thanks for a well themed series.
KB suggested we have a crack at this series today, and its been a while since I've done a walking series so I was quite keen. Especially as the series has been put together by the creators of the epic Civilisation trail - so I was expecting good things. We completed the series in 2.5 hours, with all bar one cache found. Admittedly we were armed with some good hints, so we were able to make good time - I think that without a couple of clues there'd be a few extra blue faces on the map. We sprung a couple of young lovers near the final cache - must have been quite steamy in the back of that car on a warm day like today! TFTC
Hi there janssej - with the warmer weather returning in a day or two I decided it would be a good day to return to Bungendore for the remaining caches. All remaining caches (I,W-Y) were found, though X and Y were awkward with the GPS running me around in circles. This cache was found quickly and the container and the log are in good condition. Thanks to janssej for this cache - our find #5487.
Did this walk with B12 logging a little late TFTH

Came back today to complete the A-Z series of caches, having completed ABCEF with a DNF on D when the series was published and we were out chasing FTFs, we knew what kind of series we were into, chasing micros in the bush.
It was a good day to tackle the series as it was relatively cool weather, I remember sweating through my shirt on the morning they were released.
The series was very tough going, with the last 4 over some serious hills which was tough with the pea gravel. Chasing some very small caches with some places with large number of places to search.
Managed to track them all down eventually, some after quite a search. The legs were getting very tired after walking the track.
Thanks for another series to grab.

Headed out early to do this series which got published whilst we were in bali. We managed to complete the whole series plus 2 other tradititionals that were close by in just under 5 hours. We started at A and worked our way to Z. I must admit from W to Z it was hard going with the hills but we finally made it to then grab the final. Lots of novel containers to find and a few that took us quite a while to find after a lot of searching. An enjoyable walk but I'm totally worn out now......
Another one the hubby quickly spotted TFTC janssej

Starting to catch up on some late logs.
The better half convinced me to go for a walk around these newly published cache but had to wait until I loaded them onto my GPS as I found out that my tablet and the geocaching app would not show them because the app doesn't get them right away.
Had a good time if very exhausted by the end of the 3 plus hours we walked.
Found after a bit of a search. Log signed and cache returned as found. Joint *FTF* with the better half around 12:35 hrs.
Thanks janssej for the cache.
