On a two week holiday on Norfolk Island stunning vistas everywhere I look, unfortunately the camera doesnt do it justice!Hard to look for caches when the scenery is so stunning! This certainly got the heart pumping need to work off all the yummy food Ive been eating!Plus this really got the brain cells working, not being that great at puzzles needed a lot of assistance to solve I actually think I broke out in a sweat over this one!Thank you TeamAstro for placing this game piece here, showcasing this lovely area and contributing to this great game for myself and others to enjoy. Happy trails!
Found it with goingplaces2 & ilook4geo while on a 7 day epic trip with 33 other caches exploring this beautiful Island. Thanks to the CO for the cache.
We spent a fun and productive week geocaching on Norfolk Island, as well as seeing the spectacular views. We also did several tours and other activities on offer, which highlighted different aspects of the island life and history. Thanks for this cache.
Found during a week of geocaching on Norfolk Island with GeoMates. It was a successful week and an adventurous one. Thanks go to TeamAstro for placing this cache.
Returned after receiving some further intel on the hide.Quick find today. Were certainly clocking up the steps. Thanks to the CO for the puzzle and the cache.
Found with Ris768 while travelling on Norfolk Island TFTCLog 3331Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache TeamAstro
Made it to GZ but couldn't locate the cache. After about a good 1/2 hour search, it was time to retire and leave it for another day.Didn't want to log a DNF.
#7601 NI Day #4Having rounded up all the caches around the Cascades area earlier in the morning, it was time to work our way up the west coast. This puzzle sure took some effort to crack. A bit of team work at a recent CCC event got us over the line. We found lots of empty egg shells on our way to GZ, but our focus was on finding the container. Spotted something a little suspicious and shortly afterwards added our names to the log. Getting back up to the track was a little challenging with the loose surface materials but all turned out well and ready to sign that next log book.TFTC TeamAstro
My buddies: bella at waggy This unreal slope made me think again. But if we do go down, we will stop! So down I went on two feet & not on the bum. Buddy had cih before I reached himThank you Insatiable Norfolk, for creating, placing and maintaining this cache. I have enjoyed finding it and visiting this spot.Follow my story on Instagram @AlphaDeltaIndigo
Those colourful hearts on the border of the cache page are very distracting while you're trying to get ideas on how to solve this one! Nearly sent me insane. We finally solved it at a puzzle solving event dedicated to Norfolk Island puzzles in preparation for our Norfolk Island GeoAdventure group attack on this superb place this week.We followed the path then at an appropriate point very carefully made the descent down towards GZ. The hint was no help at all, maybe the item has disappeared??? Near GZ we all began to search likely spots and with many eyes on patrol it wasn't too long before we found the cache, perhaps a bit away from where the co-ordinates indicated. Unreal estate - wouldn't want to be building my house on this slope!TFTC # 6032
Headed to the 100 acre wood area with ADI to head to Rocky Point. Crossed paths with Crash and Harveyt a few times in this great forest and views at the end. The puzzle took a bit as did the hid. We completed the signing duties and re hid, TFTC
Had to phone a friend for this one. He gave me a LOT of help. Thanks Endeavour3!! GPS was way out and phone battery was nearly out too
I remember having nightmares from the background when we worked this out a few months ago. Found while out walking one of the many beaut NI reserves with MummyPenny. A bit of trek out but a cooling wind helped. Thanks TeamAstro.
This cache took us a while to locate, I'm glad we had a few pairs of eyes. ?? TFTC Team Astro
I think the puzzle was easier than the find. GPS had us all over the place, but we got it. TFTC
An interesting puzzle. We needed help, and the CO kindly assisted. Took a while to find. Found a couple of eggs on the ground. Unreal. Found with ItsDozzie, Ziggyau, Everest High, Tardis, Max Adventurer and Brewmaker. Thanks Insatiable Norfolk for placing this cache.
#14383 15:25The second day of Geo Adventure 2024 with a group of 30+ geocachers visiting Norfolk Island. Roaming around the island for a few days, a smaller group decided to tackle some caches in the South West first. The psychadelic background on the puzzle page is still hurting my eyes. But today on the island we walked down the slope to GZ where is took a while before we spotted the cache as the hint got us distracted. Luckily with so many eyes the cache was spotted in the end and signing duties carried out.OCW 4Rods, Ziggau, Everest High, Tardis, Max Adventurer and Brewmaker this cache was found.TFTC TeamAstro
This was a very hard puzzle. I contacted the CO and asked for a way in. Looking blankly at the info, I discussed the possibilities with another cacher. Eventually, sonething clicked and soon after the layers peeled away. Today I went on a beautiful walk, and the location of this cache was one that I would pick up. Getting to GZ wasf ine today but I imagine this would be quite slick, after rain. The GPS would not settle and I had a lot of trouble trying to pinpoint GZ, eventually there it was in plain site. Took the TB.
Day 6 of my Norfolk Island adventure. I can understand why people want to live here . Its a little bit of paradise. Wow so much history on the island, Im enjoying my wandering seeing the sites . Some logs signed as N2OThis is my 12124find.Thankyou TeamAstro for placing and maintaining this cache
19th find on my NI 2023 adventure, once again, massive thanks to the amazing Portstevo on the mainland for his awesome puzzle solving skills! Can't wait to bring you here to log them all yourself! Tftc, a wonderful place to hike!
On holiday in Norfolk Island with StrangeTrousers. Beautiful Island. TFTC signed as DEM CBR
T-Tech and I are visiting Norfolk Island for our 40th anniversary. We arrived from Brisbane and are staying for 2 weeks at Endeavour Lodge, and plan to get some R&R, see all of the sites, learn the history, and gather every cache here so we can claim the Se Dun Challenge Today we had a leisurely start with a visit to the Show followed by a wander through town and a coffee at our favourite cafe. The plan for the rest of the day is to visit Bombora Beach, Crystal Pool, 100 Acre Wood, Headstone Point and St Barnabas Church, gathering caches along the way. That is a a seriously tangled puzzle. With the finals in hand we detoured from the main path and contoured our way to GZ where T-Tech made a quick find. TFTC, TeamAstro.
Over with IolantheK from Brisbane celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary [^]Out for another day of caching up the west side of the island.Man did this take some working out! Many paths that lead no were. A hint from a previous finder finally had me on the right path.A lot more work and I had a green light from the checker [^]Nice easy find, cache in good condition [^]TFTC Insatiable Norfolk
Find # 10426Day 2 in Norfolk, here for a week of caching fun with geofriends Joolay, barb2e, StrangeTrousers, and iPlod. Zoom zoom zooming around in Kermit (green not red) ?? Logging as DEMCBR.Fantastic weather, warm and sunny after chilly temps when leaving home. This was a quick and easy find and ?? here at Unreal Estate today. ??Thanks so much for the many caches TeamAstro and of course for giving me a reason and incentive to get out here, and to experience this part of the world in a different light ????
Found this morning on a walk through the lovely wood. Needed some help to get to the correct spot. Signed Dem CBR for the Canberra Group. Tftc
# 8929 Norfolk Day 2, myself, iPlod65, Joolay, barb2e and contesta had a fantastic day of caching and exploration. There are so many wonderful locations here on Norfolk. This one gave us some trouble. Mrs Gunnie and I had scanned the Hundred Acre wood earlier in the week, sadly no sign of any of the likely characters. I really wanted a bounce with Tigg'r.
I had no choice but to walk past this one on our walk, as the rain had made the approach a little precarious and I was not wearing the right footwear to be tackling mud.
So, back today for another hunt, Mrs G waited patiently in the car while I high-tailed it to GZ. Getting there was no trouble but it took me a few minutes to track down the container. It was, of course, in an obvious spot when I found it...
Log out, name in, I was pleased to have this on the found list given the trouble I had finding a tool to help with the puzzle.
Cheers TeamAstro, a tricky puzzle and great location, just the way we like them.

So I had this idea that whilst we were coming to NI we would find all the geocaches to be found. Then I saw the puzzle caches. Ohhh nooo. We don’t do puzzles. Especially something like what is presented here. So I sought help from the CO and he patiently guided me along. It was quite an experience and I promised myself that I would try more puzzles. Apologies for the frustration we undoubtedly caused. Chooknchunk helped me get over the line.
Today we went and found this cache. Thank you. A favourite point for the puzzle solving lesson and it’s beautiful location.
I did think I would take the suggestion of coming here at night but after todays visit we thought that would be a whole new experience which we are quite content not to do. It was a good thought for a bit. TFTC

I had a little help with this pointing to the correct tool version, and then spent a good part of last night teasing out the answer. I had been provided some extra hints, but managed to avoid looking at them and got there in the end - there is great satisfaction in solving such a fiendish puzzle! The cache find was a nice walk, and a fairly quick find. Amazing how a log book can get damp when wrapped in so many layers! It is still usable though. What a nice container. Thanks for the adventure.
Where do I start? Having just found it, we would agree at least a T3 or more. George is no longer a mountain goat! Spent ages wondering what the hint meant and wandering around until Mrs George called out from a bit further over there 'here it is'.
The puzzle. Looked at many things. It's d4+. After a hint, I tried many alternate decoding programs but only one worked. You are evil, team astro. A good workout to reach gz. Tftc, team astro, and tftc hint, e3.

Day 6 on the Island and back into some walking to caches. Our first area is to walk the loop track within 100 Acres.
What an amazing puzzle. We solved this at home.
I started peaking back layers but became totally lost and contacted the CO for guidance. After many hints and with Nana nel working over my shoulder we managed to get the correct location.
GZ wasn't a walk in the park either and while the log was saturated, we were able to add our stamp.
Added a favourite and visited trackables.

Out with wazza9 finding a few caches in this lovely reserve. We spent a long time with the CO's help to solve this puzzle before leaving home. Today was the day to find the Unreal Estate, took a while to locate the best piece of land to reside. Stamped log and replaced. Thanks to TeamAstro.
On 15 October 2022 a new batch of prisoners were shipped out of Brisbane to spend 7 days incarcerated on Norfolk Island. It has now been 3 nights and 4 days into their sentence at Ocean Breeze Cottages.
The prisoners have made several unsuccessful attempts to find escape routes from the Island. This morning they were surveying the western parts of the Island.
Before shipping out from Australia the prisoner reached out to Governor Astro seeking a pardon from the sentence for crimes committed. The Governor responded with a message filled with strange pulsating and flashing lights. After a step by step process Governor Astro had passed additional messages to the convicts.
The convicts were hopeful that these messages showed he had mercy on the convicts and that they may be released or at the very least provided fresh supplies. The lack of shipping from Australia meant that stores were running low.
Anticipation grew as the cache was spotted, surely this large container will provide something to fulfill the growing hunger the convicts are experiencing. Oh dear, the top of the storage box has been broken, the contents ruined in the stinking water which had dribbled in.
At least the log was dry and the convicts left there mark in respect of the assistance provided by Governor Astro.
The convicts passed a message to long term prisoner endeavour3 to inform him of the condition of Governor Astro's box of supplies.

Time to head to Norfolk Island to celabrate our 70th birthdays. When we were here before we were not geocachers, this visit will be spent gathering geocaches and revisiting our favourite places. Our appologies for the generic logs it does not take away the enjoyment we have found in the fantastic places they have been placed and all the different styles of caches that we are enjoying,

Norfolk Island and Sydney trip, Day 7, Norfolk Island, Hundred Acres Reserve and surrounds.
Needed a LOT of help to solve this one (thanks e3), left the track at the same altitude near the large fallen tree and made the relatively easy walk to GZ.
Outer container, inner bag and Sistema are all swimming, but remarkably the log was dry in it's bag. We double bagged it and replaced the bucket on it's side to hopefully keep the next rains out.

Found while heading over with the family to get some lunch over near Anson Bay, got quite a few caches and also BUCKETED down on with rain, despite the rain we still had an amazing time in this beautiful area.
After spending multiple hours over the week trying to solve this one, eventually getting it spoon-fed to us from the CO, we finally got the green light on the checker. Nice walk down to the cache even though its REALLY slippery.
TFTC TeamAstro, FP for all the help and a cool cache!

With the Se Dun challenge in mind, we set off to clean up the west coast this morning, before a lunch at Anson Bay. The weather started off good, but soon the grey rolled in, then a few scattered showers, then some steady rain, so we ended up wet, but with 18 finds for the morning.
What a puzzle. I enjoyed it, every mouthful, as I was spoonfed the instructions one at a time. Very tricky, I think deserving of D4.5-5 in fact. We left the track on the west side of GZ and found the right elevation, then an easy walk to GZ, where the nicely presented cache was found. We hide multi nested containers as well to keep everything snug. Even with some moisture inside the main container (we got rid of most of it) the log looked as though it was hidden yesterday.... TFTC!

Out caching with joojoo57, 2 Wagtails and endeavour 3 on an overcast afternoon on Norfolk Island. We did 3 caches in this area which took us through the bush along tracks until we came to a lookout with great views. Found cache and signed log. TFTC
This afternoon we ventured out after lunch to grab a few more caches along the headlands and coastline. Fantastic scenery was in abundance and while at the 100 acre reserve we observed some noisy birdlife. Thanks for placing a cache in this area.
Boy! This puzzle really tested us. We resorted to asking for help and were pointed in the right direction. Only then did could we solve it. Phew!
Continuing our walk along the trail with Joojoo57, endeavour3 and Richmond Lad we made our way towards GZ. We passed many many noddy and white terns in the trees around us. At GZ we found a very ornate cache and very large too. Nice.
We all signed the log then continued our walk.
Thank you for adding more fun to our day.

We needed some help with this cache but got there. We may have been a bit off or our gps was playing up as we couldn't find the cache and then when we spotted it were rather pleased to not have to leave it but it is a little hard to miss! Wow its Bird poo galore in the area... so many birds here and they have a fetish for blue it seems.
Trip log: Norfolk Island... Not something we had been planning to do but with GreyHams noticing travel here was starting up again, a good deal on flights and that this would count as a new caching 'country' this was indeed a very tempting location to visit.
Puzzles were solved, our double vaccinations certificates ready to go. A last minute change in the entry requirements added our PCR tests... but we arrived.
We had a challenge to collect as many of the caches as we could in the 48 hours we would be on the Island... A caching trip, but one that guided us around into every hidden gem the Island had to offer. All its beauty, history, scenic and quirky... and moisture! Humidity that sucked the energy out of every pore as we sweated our way about, but it was awesome!
An event the first evening was fantastic to meet with endeavour3, a wealth of local knowledge and assistance... both caching and the local area. It was great to confirm details, amend as needed and with a few DNFs help us back on track.
An honourable mention to the cows, especially the one that licked all over the car, the feral chickens (but not the roosters that wake up far to early and noisily) and the very friendly waving people everywhere we went!
Thanks for your cache that helped guide us about, and can all the caches be found within 48 hours... I'm very pleased to say that yes we could!

Aquilus1 and myself were on a mission: Go to Norfolk Island and clear the place out in 48 hours! This we achieved as we arrived well prepared, having ground out the puzzles (some with assistance) so that we had coords for nearly all hides before leaving Australia.
Brain tickler test & vaccination certificates in hand, we were shocked on arrival that our Australian mobiles had no roaming coverage....NONE! But, thankfully it seems most accommodation not only comes with a car, but comes with a phone as well.
I swear we did at least 5 laps of the island, I knew my way around very well by the end. NI is such a beautiful place, I am coming back with the family in a month and I already know exactly where I will take them.
On our first day we hosted an event and thankfully the local legend cacher, endeavour3, graced us with his presence. Some sage advice on the trickiest of NI hides was gladly received
And, it has to be said......OMG THE HUMIDITY!!! Canberra has none at all, it was a major shock to the system!

Made my way down with drawp and PageNZ. On way down managed to trip on tree root and headed for a tree to stop me going completely down. Once at Gz what a wonderful cache container. Deserves a favourite point.

Nice big cache. Can we build here? But what else can one say without giving it away? Tftpc
This was a must solve before we left nz and it was nice to be able to visit here with kiwicouple and mrandmrschosen1978 today. Figured out the best approach and whilst the cache hide does not fit the hint we had no problem in locating it. Many thanks for the puzzle, the cache and the great location it brought us to.
This was the one puzzle on the island we didn't manage to solve on our own. We were happy when we had worked through the steps and obtained the coordinates for the final. This afternoon we were keen to sign off on Unreal Estate in the company of Team Welsh and mrandmrschosen. Once at GZ the lovely big container was soon spotted, and we were impressed with the lovely inner container too. Many thanks for this one.
Very much enjoyed the walk to this cache and the find at the end ??. Thanks to endeavour for helping with the puzzle.
Exercise for the brain and body. I can’t claim to have solved this without a huge amount of help, but do understand the whole thing now. TFTC. We loved walking the trail.
I soon spotted the large cache...(but post?) A cache within a nice, fancy cache, within a cache. Then I had to try not to get more mud on my shoes, as I made my way back to my car. (Wet day.) TFTC TeamAstro.

Ecstastic I am to finally sign this cache!
I started working on this puzzle shortly after it was published but realized it was a toughy. I was given a few clues and even with all the nudges, it was still tough. I nit-picked and then nit-picked some more until one day, a fellow cacher replied with "you are soooooo close" and I still couldn't figure it out. One day, as I sat at Starbucks in Queenstown, NZ (and this was over a year ago), an idea clicked and I finally solved the most challenging puzzle cache on Norfolk. The question was then: when am I going to Norfolk again? Five visits under my belt, I was in the mood for other places. Now I've finally made the time for my 6th visit.
Landing today at 2 PM from Brisbane, I settled into where I was staying, was invited in for tea, and then opted for a night walk. The stars are absolutely sensational on Norfolk, and I was completely in awe as I walked toward GZ. Feeling completely peaceful, I made the find easily, and there it is: I finally have Unreal Estate in my hands. Funny enough, "Unreal Estate" was the Final Jeopardy! category the other night.

Had the puzzle solved for some time before finally getting to visit the Island. Great puzzle which took some solving but I got there in the end. And what a wonderful surprise when I got to GZ and found the cache!! Loved it, FP for the puzzle, the hike in and the container. Thank you for placing in such a great location.
Getting towards the end of the caching day. We set off down the hill. Maybe it was because we had nearly conquered all the caches on the Island that there was almost a spring in our step even though we had conquered so many changes in elevation already today, but this just seemed like a very pleasant walk. With careful observation there is quite a gradual slope to the GZ and there the cache was quickly found. Thanks for yet another great cache Insatiable Norfolk. Deserves a FP
Justjessie and I made a late decision to spend a week holidaying on Norfolk. A quick check of the caching map revealed the "Se Dun challenge" The local term for completing something, so we set about "completing" all 53 caches on the Island. Can't be that hard can it....?
Great location, was a little puzzled by previous logs about long grass. Found out latter that everything is relative on NI, long grass is 20cm... Not quite the same as home...
Each log has a random picture from our time on the Island, we would recommend it to other cachers as a great way to spend a week, getting to know the Island the people and their heritage.

Find 3 of 12 on our first day of caching on beautiful Norfolk Island.
Started looking at this as soon as we had booked our trip. Needed a hint to get started as our usual tools were not working. Happily with some team work we navigated the rest of the layers of the puzzle unassisted. Today we took the kids on a walk to the cache and left them playing while we crashed around in the brambles, cursing all the while. Eventually relocated to a more pleasant search zone and spotted the cache easily! For some reason, we were both 40m out from our GZ.

Enjoying a wander through this lovely reserve. This is our kind of bush walking. Gentle and easy going. We made our way along and down to GZ. While looking around Mr S suddenly said...."Oh, what's that.?" Well, the cache naturally. Love the camo like a Russian doll. We found another Russian Doll type cache a few weeks ago, where you kept opening container after container. No doubt about it keeping the log dry. Now, get back to the track. This way or that way. Whatever is easiest in this inclement weather.
Thanks Insatiable Norfolk. That's another smilie on Norfolk for us.

Haven’t seen many caches this size! What a fancy box tucked away inside with some fancy swag waiting to be traded. Thanks for the caching adventure. This is day 2 of collecting caches and we are a little over half way through them. We have been up since sunrise and are starting to get a bit weary now! TFTC
What a bugger of a puzzle - all double dutch to me until we got help from a friend - will keep the solving of this tricky puzzle in my memory bank for future similar ones. Loved the walk to this cache - tad steep at the end but still pleasant. Very nice cache and good hide. TFTC
Needed lots of help with this puzzle. Nice surprise waiting at cache site. TFTC
Back home in New Zealand, a friend and I tried to work out this puzzle. We tried a whole variety of things with no luck so I reached out for a bit of help and got a nudge in the right direction. Kept working on it and then needed another little hint and bingo... I finally had coordinates. Today we set off to locate the cache and I'm super happy to say that the cache is very worthy of the puzzle. I was so happy to locate the cache and see what an amazing job the CO did with it. Thanks so much for providing a huge brain work out and a lovely reward at the end of the hunt.
First to Find ??. I had to leave the Island for a few days and asked a visiting cacher to look after all my caches. Nothing to strenuous, just replace the odd mint tin. But noooo ??. I come home to find he has been placing caches all over the rock, including placing multiple?. There are multiple layers to this puzzle, and I confess I needed a couple of hints. But eventually I teased the coordinates out from the photos. All my years on Norfolk Island ???? and this is a location that I have never visited. A surprise to see such a large cache, and inside a appropriately themed logbook holder. And another surprise - a blank logbook [FTF] . Thanks for the trackable. A FP from me. TFTC ??
