With some personal health challenges in recent years and growing kids with diverse sporting commitments, maintenance is not as achievable as it used to be. Indeed, my involvement in any form of geocaching in general is pretty limited at present, so I will create some space on the board on focus on ALs, which I dont need to maintain!
With the intrepid Goldberry17, having a great day out around the Geomuster series. TFTC!

Found with nissan65 on a few days away. Solved these a while ago but only collecting them now. Thanks for your contribution to geo caching and placing for our enjoyment
In the area for Australia Day and being on the water most of the time to get to a virtual, but enough time to grab some park and grab caches.

TFTC. Got out of the car and the stench was horrible. Probably a dead animal somewhere. I wondered what the hint meant until I arrived at the position. I sent Deni- f up as I’m too old and have a back problem atm to negotiate the climb. Was funny watching him descend.
This was a fun little puzzle. The kids like the logic and maths bases ones.
Bit sketchy for the kids at GZ so the younger ones stayed in the car quite a fun little trip up and down in the end.
Thanks for the puzzle and the cache!

Late start today due to domestic duties. But thanks to the fact that no one would be home tonight, I thought I could still cache far from home and take advantage of the late sunset this time of year. So headed up to Morisset and beyond this afternoon to collect some of the long forgotten, but solved OzGeomuster puzzles.
Had a few DNFs, but also had a few finds with unloved days - including one not found for almost 2 years.
Finished the day with five traditionals at Rathmines.
And after all that, started driving home in the light. Gotta love summer.
A good afternoon out.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
After a "warm-up" DNF came here. So glad my boots have good tread on them. Got to GZ for a quick find.
Signed, replaced and then tried to work out the best way down. So much easier going up.

Second find after finishing parkrun nearby.
This one was fun. Easy to get to the cache, and easy find once there, but getting back was a problem. I'd normally do a controlled slide, but I was wearing my favourite running tights and didn't want to damage them. So it was a very slow & careful ease my way back down. Bikerbuddy did the controlled slide and threatened to drive away without me if I didn't hurry up

Up in the area for work so after finishing time headed out to collect some more of the art work given I had limited time at the mega. A variety of puzzles of which some I'm now struggling to remember how to solve. No real issues with the hides. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

#6/25. This puzzle is not fair on any mathematical mind. Many hours spent on this, with spreadsheets created, but cannot be fooled. I had read many many logs on this, trying to glean a clue, but all i learnt was that it was a tricky find once at gz. Well you are right on that point. Thought my boots had better grip than they did. I must had jagged the final spot, as i walked? straight onto it. It was a slide back down. TFTC.
With restrictions starting to ease in our Covid World, it was decided that 2020 caching really need to kick up a gear, and so a plan was set in motion for The Rats, Steeba and myself to head to the Newcastle and Hunter region. There were a few trails, power trails, and Lab Caches that would be hitting our radars, along with a milestone for The Rats. We headed off on Thursday evening and turned for jome on Sunday afternoon. A wonderful long weekend was had, and our cache finds topped 450 for the trip. All in all it was a great success.
The caches were excellent. Some indeed were amazing, and favourite points have been awarded. The company, as always, was faultless. The weather was varied. We had sun, rain, wind, colder, warm, more wind... A bit of everything! We managed to find a few nice spots to camp, and enjoyed the company of Big Matt and Marcus Vitruvius for dinner at a local establishment on Saturday evening.
Please forgive the boiler-plate log, I assure you it is no reflection on the caching experience of our few days away. Thank you to all cache owners for their hides.
Cheers

COVID has really put a dampener on this year’s caching ability, but it hasn't stopped my enthusiasm to get out and find a cache whenever possible. So, it was with excitement that I was keen to catch up with Steeba and Hoojar for our first caching weekend of the year.
We targeted a number of powertrails in the Central Coast and Hunter region over our 3-day caching frenzy. The weekend threw up a bit of everything, including a plethora of finds, mountain bush bashing, coastal caching, weather that varied from beautiful to bizarre, sleeping under the stars, some close calls with the flora and fauna, lovely local hospitality and most of all, a great time away with my mates”.
Thanks to all the C.O’s for placing and maintaining their caches for us to find. Apologises for the generic log but with so many finds I couldn’t personalise every one of them.
We spent our first cleaning up the remaining OZGEOmuster caches that we didn’t find on our visit to the Lake Macquarie mega. The night through up a few surprises, none more so than a number of local muggles who helped us find caches that were close to their houses.

Well 2020 has been a relatively slow year on the caching front due to COVID-19. If it wasn't for that it would have been a trip to the USA and Geocaching's 20th year celebrations.
However the crew got back together and The Rats, Hoojar and I teamed up for a few days caching up around the Hunter area. First it was to finish off some of the older OZGM series caches then up into the Watagans for more. Most of Saturday was spent tackling the great Dogs Head Trail then on Sunday it was down into Newcastle city for some great caches.
This was another find on our trip.

Found it. Climbing up was o'k but coming down was a littke slower. The first half anyway. The second half was on my backside.TFTC OZGM.
The Cut n Paste bit: Today I set out to find 25+ caches with different D/T combinations, to qualify for "The Unique Difficulty/Terrain Challenge" (https://coord.info/GC54RAX) and I'm pretty sure I was successful with 26 different combos, a few extra caches, and only 3 DNFs for the day.
Notes on this cache: Nice maths puzzle and cool cache location. I was surprised that my shoes had enough grip in them to allow me to walk straight up. But coming down was much hairier, with some feet first belly up all fours action happening. And in between I found the cache, signed the log and replaced no worries. TFTC!

A walk in Kosciusko National Park was planned many months ago for the first week of January, before the now infamous fires were but a spark. As Christmas came and went, and the fires grew worse, I was not aware that fires were also starting in Kosi National Park. A day before we were to fly out the park was closed for a few days due to nearby fires, so with the chance of still going, we headed to Sydney. We waited and waited for the warnings to clear, but sadly this was not to be, and in fact, it has gotten much worse and the closures continued. We were not going to Kosi . While this was an inconvenience for us, our thoughts are with those who have suffered so much worse than us in this devastating event.
We decided to stay around Sydney and Newcastle for the week, and salvage as much as we could of our holiday. We had some great walks, cliff faces, beaches, swims and rocky crags. It was a fantastic time all around. Thanks to all the CO’s for the work they have put into these caches.
Logs were signed as The Bromance for Seffnjarah. CrookedPete, JeznDez and myself to save room in the logbooks.

Over the the past few years, the Bromance (comprising CrookedPete, Seffnjarah, SwellerFungus and most recently JezNDez) have enjoyed road trips, bushwalking, overnight hikes, mountain climbing, kayaking and other adventures in search of some elusive caches.
The first planned adventure for the brand new decade was a multi day hike in Kosciusko National Park bagging Australia's highest dozen peaks and all nearby caches.
Enroute to our adventure, Australia's bush fire crisis unfolded, and with the Kosciusko region on fire and closed, our plans gradually morphed to a caching road trip back to Queensland, collecting unusual, rare and interesting caches along the way.
Having stayed in Newcastle, the time had come to clean up some solved puzzles in the local geoart in the area including this series.
Some logs were signed with individual names or initials if log space was an issue, others with "Bromance". Our groups brand new "Bromance" stamp also got used on some cache logs.
Thanks ozgeomuster

My family and I travelled down from Brisbane to Vincentia and Canberra to spend the Christmas/New Year period with relatives. Yesterday my fellow geocaching team members from The Bromance (Swellerfungus, Crookedpete and JezNDez) arrived in Sydney to join me for a planned hike in Kosciusko National Park (ultimately cancelled due to closures by bush fires). The plan was to head to Canberra after collecting them from the airport but the smoke was so bad in Canberra that we decided to spend a few days caching in Sydney to see if conditions improved. Sadly they didn't and the National Park was closed so it was time to turn tail and slowly head for home.
After spending the night in Newcastle, we headed out after breakfast to commence a full day of caching in the area. Swellerfungus, JezNDez and I had visited for the 2018 OzGeo Muster but had left these solved puzzles behind due to the expected crowds associated with the Mega. Today with time on our hands we had the opportunity the round up this trail of caches. Logbook stamped with The Bromance team name. TFTC

We set up camp at a caravan park at Mannering Park yesterday and positioned ourselves so we could head out and do this cache series which we were unfortunately not able to do when the event was on. We teamed up with the Snakepiters and enjoyed the comraderie that goes along with doing a trail like this one. We appreciate the effort afforded in placing this cache and series. Thanks to ozgeomuster for hiding this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Our first full day doing the OZ Muster Geo Art, plus picking up some others nearby, reasonably succsessful picking up 51 today. Half day tomorrow to recharge.

I had a few days off from work, and I decided one of those days I should drive up to Lake Macquarie to find many of the puzzles I had solved in the series "Be My Cachetine" series as well as the 'OZ Geomuster' series. Time was running out to complete the whole series, but as there are so many other caches to be found in this area, I will definitely return in the next months.
It was a great day with many finds in tranquil towns, along quiet road and great views of Lake Macquarie.
Big thank you to all CO for the puzzle pleasure and placing and maintaining all the boxes and micros.

On a beautiful day to be out and about, we gathered up the family and headed out for a day of caching to visit this series. Needing 33 caches for a certain turtle, we picked out just over half of these caches to find. The kids enjoyed making most of the finds, as well as making swaps in and out of each cache.
The series is very nicely laid out, which is largely due to a massive effort by the garbageman. Having laid out a geoart myself, I fully appreciate the work and maintenance put in by this man, especially being a non committee member! All in all, we came home with no DNF’s, and all the caches were in good order. Had a great day!

The aim for today was to complete the OzGeomuster 2018 OZGM GeoArt in the Lake Macquarie region. The puzzles were solved before the Geomuster in April, but I only did a handful or so back then.
An early start to the day meant leaving the house at around 5am so we could start caching as soon as the sun rose. First cache was picked up just before 7:00am and the last cache was picked up around 4:00pm.
The following TBs and Geocoins helped with the search to find the hidden cache:

My daughter has soccer training this afternoon, So I made a quick stop for this cache after work this morning. It was not a bad climb to the top. After receiving a tip from vk2df, I returned today to make another attempt, this time using the thick clumps of grass growing through the jigsaw on the right hand side to provide sufficient traction for my bare feet. Once at the required level I soon had cache in hand. Many thanks for the cache and the series.
Looks like I'm the first to have been defeated by this one. Upon reaching GZ I figured out from the hint where the cache was likely to be, but my bare soles couldn't get sufficient traction on the jigsaw to get there. I wondered about a side-on aproach but the undergrowth looked too thick. Oh well. I might have to come back with some grippy boots and try again.
Out and about today with the geo dog finishing up the remaining Oz Geo Muster Caches. Today we did the Z's and some remaining G's. We had a great time and this one was by far the most favourite. Thanks for placing these caches.

This as the most deceptively simple puzzle to begin with I printed a copy out for Muggle Hubby and one for myself, both coming up with the same answer, but no coordinates. One member of the Brains Trust sent her puzzle off shore to her mathematically intelligent son, but Surefoot64 worked it out herself and pointed out where we’d made our mistake.
But then came the retrieval of the cache. That was real heart in the mouth stuff as I watched Muggle Hubby do the scramble up, and then toboggan down again. Not a bad effort for a bloke who has ad a five way bypass! Muggle Hubby and I are thoroughly enjoying exploring your lovely area whilst on a day out from the OZGeomuster in such beautiful weather.
Thanks for placing and maintaining these caches for our entertainment (but not this one....it’s downright dangerous!)

Found this cache whilst attending the OZ Geo Muster at Morisset NSW.

Found with ZimbaW and Specimen X at a very enjoyable Mega weekend of Mega fun-thank you!
Leaving Sydney very early Friday and arrived in Morisset at 8am to join the caching group (5/P) meaning five puzzle solvers and we signed all logs with this simple sign in to save space in the many logs that we found over the W/E.
First on our list were the LMHS series followed by a few local caches and then we tackled the OZGeomuster and some more caches in the area over the next three days.
I would like to thank all the folk responsible for placing all the caches that we found because this will have to be a cut and paste operation owing to the number of finds.
With more good luck than anything else we only had one DNF for the W/e but we could see the red bison but it was beyond our capabilities to gain access to the log.
I have say a huge thanks to the committee for the smooth running of the weekend.
We encountered some of the local wild life a huge black snake about seven foot long and a smaller brown. They are out there so be careful.
I also helped to keep the local Leech population to survive with a donation of my blood. Did not feel a thing and this is not the first time I have helped them out but that was in another state. Gosh they make a mess of your clothes before the blood stops dribbling out.
This was my fifth Mega and looking forward to the next one later this year in Victoria.

I'm at the OzGeoMuster event in Morisset, and today Jess & Caro (minus Jess), Aussieben and I are collecting the the OZGM caches plus a few randoms along the way. We had a fun day out and all our searches ended in smileys. TFTC and series, ozgeomuster.

So here we are in New South Wales
It's time to bore you with my tales
Of how we drove around all day
Just finding things along the way
We had a list, with much to do
But like most things, it grew and grew
Until at last we had to choose
Which smiles to keep and which to lose
So if by chance you get this rhyme
You know we cached at Mega time!

Another great day of caching at the mega, this was another cache found on a big day of adventure. Many hours were spent working on these puzzles, but most did not take too long to find at GZ. Thanks for a great series, the variety of puzzles and locations of hides is superb.

After a massive assault on the other geomuster art yesterday, I was happy for a more burbs like environment, just getting over snakes and 4wd tracks a little.
This series really showcases some magnificent areas and can't wait to bring my Family back to explore some more.
Cheers for the great series!
