Today we have a few very special caches on the agenda. Some with lots of favorite points that made us curious and two "old caches" were successfully conquered. We also visited traditional caches, lab caches and a multi cache. A break on the beach, where we watched the fisherman on the pier and the children, rounded off a great day. Really a special Box - we give an Favoritenpoint. All Ownern many thanks and greetings from the Moorhelmi
Found on the last morning of a trip to tautahi to visit my daughter. Very nicely done indeed. TFTC
Loved this! For a moment, I thought the cache was in the neighbours place but luckily looked in the right place
Thank you so so much... this find was amazing. Brought my mini geohunter with me and his little brain had a fabulous time hunting this one down
Such a cool cache! Thanks for the effort that went into this! Managed to get here just before schools let out so not a muggle in site

Found this today w GloryGloryToGa (which is a saying at his university) while visiting from Virginia, USA. I dropped a card and a few pathtags for the owner and or next geocachers. Well designed cache! Loved that book and enjoyed the challenge! TFTC! Fav point added.
Today it was time to leave Christchurch and to start our roadtrip. Today went until Lake Tekapo and made some nice cache stops on the way.Wow - great cache What a pity we didn`t have a towel with us but nevertheless we were able to find the cache. We studied the instructions and it was no problem to open it. After signing a logbook we put everything back and closed the cache. We leave a fav point here. Thanks for hiding and maintaining the cache.Happy hunting!TFTCschnuckel1[#23996]
I'm too anxious to go poking around to figure out which house this is at will try again another day with a friend. Excited to give it a shot
Our family moved to Christchurch a few months back, and since then we have had the privilege of hosting some of my Wellington Puzzlers group members for caching weekends. This weekend was TwigNZ's turn.We were interested as to why this cache had so many favourite points, so were eager to get to it on our travels. This cache has to be one of my all time favourites. The time and effort that has gone into it is amazing. I will be bringing the rest of the family back to experience this one for themselves. Thanks for the cache RogoWiz.
I very much love getting to visit the South Island. Until recently it wasn't something I got to do very often, but in the last year I've managed a series of mini-trips for geocaching, and here we are at the start of 2024 with another one. Just like my first SI trip in 2023, I've come to Christchurch to target a few specific caches to help with my Jasmer Grid, and qualification for a few challenges I'm currently working on.This is Day 4, my last day before catching my flight back to Wellington this evening. I wasn't sure what my plans actually were for today, but whatever they may have been was soon forgotten with the publication of a new cache. ThatDarnBear, who has kindly been hosting me for my visit, and I sat down and tried to solve it. We did well, but not quite well enough for a quick solve. A few discussions with friends soon had it sorted out and then we jumped into the car...We missed out on that FTF, but whilst we were in this area we took the opportunity to do some other caches including this one.In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry, and has been widely regarded as a bad move! However, I can take solace in the fact that I clearly live in one of the more relaxed regions of the western spiral arm of the galaxy by which I mean I can go up to someone's house, stand in their garden, and play with switches on a gadget of their making, without attracting too much unwanted attention. And so we found the cache, and gained entry to the log, taking an estimated 42 seconds to complete this task. The odds of that happening was something like 2,079,460,347 to 1 against. Was that significant? I'll just ask Eddie to work it out...Thanks for setting this one up. There was never a doubt that this cache would get a FP from me The only way this cache could have been cooler is if the switches had lit up black on a black background when pressed :p
**20,375**This was the best cache we have found in ages. Absolutely loved the concept and the work that had gone into constructing it. Didnt take too long to access the log book and we signed and stamped it (wrong page but do busy gaping at the workings!). If we could award you more than one favourite point, we would. TFTC
TFTC. Very fun cache, although the locking system is not super effective and can just be yanked open.
One of the coolest caches I've found so far! I'm not sure whether the switches are supposed to work though... It just opened up for us. TFTC
Enjoying the challanges of cache finds on day 4 of my trip away with tmann421.Thought we were heading into some bad weather but fortunatly turned into a hot sunny day,Signed all logs tm/ww NZThanks to all the cache owners for their efforts Really enjoyed this well themed contsinr
Down in the Christchurch area with woolwood9. Day 4 - another very nice day out.SL *tm/ww NZ*Thank you for the reason to visit this cache and location *Good cache construction here - I had a couple of tries to open, then ww9 got it first time!*
Like 1MinnieMoo, I am not an ardent fan of Hitchhikers, but we soon found what we were looking for. TFTC RogoWiz
29/9/2023 Find #6672Day 21 of the Fangsoki/1MinnieMoo New Zealand South Island adventures. Today was our final day of travel, heading from Hanmer Springs back to Christchurch, ready to fly home tomorrow. I am slightly embarrassed to admit I really dont know that much about the Hitchhikers Guide apart from knowing the most important number but wasnt sure this particular number would be what I needed. I managed to do enough googling to feel comfortable. And we headed to the cache. As soon as we pulled up I saw what I needed to be looking at. Over and in and it wasnt long before we had access to a rather interesting cache container. Thanks for the cache RogoWiz.
Fantastic cache well worthy of a favourite. Found with RAYZR Got lucky with code signed and off we went. TFTC
Another awesome cache by this co we immediately checked out the other caches owns to maybe complete them as well. Well worth of a favorite point from me. Did not even see the clue till I was replacing
I didn't have my towel with me, and next doors number seemed like it was going to be right... getting nervous, butI wanted to see what intergalactic cache had earned these numerous of FPs. DONT PANIC Arthur Dent, you can do it. You know the answer to the universe and everything. When in the right spot, things seemed obvious. Thanks for an awesome cache RogoWiz and another FP to the tally. # 4001
I am in town so my muggle wife can attend Wool Fest. I had a spare minute so I came over to find this cache. Too bad it is not working as intended. TFTC.
As a life long Arthur Dent fan I had to come see thus one. Sadly looks like mechanism not working but opened easily enough. Left TB to go explore the galaxy.
Holy buckets, that made me nervous. When I first arrived, I nosed around the gate and decided this wasn’t a good idea (I really dislike private property caches but that’s probably just my home country talking). I picked up a few in nearby park and phoned a friend. After confirming exactly where and what I was looking for, I made the grab. Very well designed cache. I wasn’t sure of the combination, having never read the book, but I managed to guess it in 4 tries!
Well done, CO.

What a great cache - thanks for all the work putting it together. Fav point from me.
This is my fourth geocaching excursion to **beautiful New Zealand**!
This time it's a road trip enduring for 26 days, covering both North- and South-Island.
The last destination of the journey is reached now : Christchurch .
Welcomed me with absolutely sh...y weather [xx(] today [B)].
So the plans (carefully worked out in detail before the trip ) had to be changed completely .
Means: Only easy caches and andventure-labs - not too far to drive...
Didn't help [:(!]: I got wet-wet-wet [B)]!
Nevermind !
This geo-treasure contributed to the finds of today. Cool! [^]
What a cool one [^]! Made me smile!
A big thanks to the owner RogoWiz [:X] for creating and maintaining this cache [^] - and best regards from Germany !
P.S.: deserves a fav for sure [^] [:X]!

Awesome cache. I didn’t feel conspicuous at all lol. thanks for the fun and TFTC, Biggles.
After thrashing around in the park trying to find one there this was a joy to behold. So well done thanks
Found with Neave Willoghby and took a travel bug. Mechanism worked fine in Neave’s hands. What a great idea for a cache .
I could see the object I'd come to find but I didn't notice any stepping stones so I was unsure how I would get closer. I asked the neighbour if I'd found what I'd come for and she confirmed it was.
I stepped over the Agapanthus and got the cache. Less than a minute later I had the code sorted and was completing the logbook duties. Nice! Thanks RogoWiz, great creativity here and that means I'm throwing ya a favourite point.

This is easily my favourite cache so far. As a fan of HHGTG it's brilliant, and very original.
I had to do a little research to figure out what the code might be.
I had something but wasn't 100% sure I was correct and arriving at GZ I was equally sure and confused but upon exploration I managed to open first try. Phew
Now I have done all the trads within lunchbreak walking distance from a place I often work- I'll have to start on the nearby puzzles now
TFTC- super creative, I learned something and there are lots of interesting swag inside.. this gains a fav point from me

After an extended lunch, and minimal daylight left, I searched 20+ favourites.
Found this after dark. Electronics weren't working, but cache opened and log signed.

As we drove up we realised that we had been here before but we were too nervous about entering someone's property last time.
The road was very quiet being Easter Sunday and Beeba and I soon worked out where we should look. I bravely stepped in and retrieved the puzzle box. We tried several times to open it and then M managed to get the right combination. I signed the log and replaced it.
A very exciting find. It definitely deserves a favourite point. We make a great team between the three of us!!

Found the cache easily but electronics seem dead. Opened manually. A good cache, lots of work, shame the electronics didn't seem to work. TFTC.
Pouring with rain today but that didn’t stop my enthusiastic 9 year old niece. She figured out the clue super quick and swapped 4 of her toys for 4 novelties
We had an hour or so spare before other commitments in the afternoon, so again looking at caches close to home.
This was the closest, and one that has been on the ‘must visit’ list for a while. I am not keen on private property caches but could see this was obscured from the house.
A quick find of course, but the electronics were not working, which is a shame. It opened anyway.
Once back in the car and searching for the next cache, the occupants of the house came out as well. They missed us by less than 60 seconds. All good in the end. TFTC RogoWiz.

A few quick caches grabbed in the morning before other commitments. We targeted a few close to our accomodation
Another cool crafted cache Favourite point from me

On our way out of Chch central we decided to look for quality rather than quantity. Always a little suss of caches in peoples front yards, but we were well hidden so set about opening. What a cool hide and well deserving of a favourite point. Thanks for the effort here, definitely appreciated. Picked up the TB and will move on down south
This one has been on my must do list for a long time but today is the first time I've had a chance to go for it. I don't particularly feel comfortable doing caches on private property but no one appeared to be around so I went for it. The GPS led me straight to it and I took it back to the car to figure out how to open it. Very cool. Swapped the 2 TB inside for another 2. Thanks for hiding RogoWiz

I'm not always keen on looking for caches on private property but I was here now and it looked all clear. Nicely constructed camo - grabbed the cache and then took it back to the car to see if I could work out how to open it. Miraculously I did. Wonderful cache and I'm so pleased I did stop instead of driving on by. An easy favourite. TFTC # 17,502
Not having read the book(s) I didn’t know if I’d be up to the task of this cache. It seems that it hadn’t quite been secured properly as access was soon granted and the logbook duly signed. A lot of work has gone into this one so definitely deserves a favourite point. Out with indiboo for some caching adventures. Tftc
Found over Christmas and never logged. Closing in on gz I turned on the gps and it was showing the open chest. Thinking back I now vaguely recall. Having read all the books I was able to compute the solution
Spotted the cache easily enough and loved the challenge of signing the log book. Awesome effort put into this cache making caching all the more fun. Adding a fav point
Thanks for placing the cache RogoWiz.
Find number 4543.
Log signed b&p.

On our journey to find a cache per day, we have to go further and further. Being invited for a friend's house warming was a good excuse to look for this one. Easy find and lots of excitements to actually get to the logbook. Great cache, well designed, lots of work has gone into this. Both container and logbook were in really good condition. Thanks for the cache!
What a great field puzzle cache! We spotted the hide immediately and then had fun figuring things out, the field hint made it a bit too easy but can understand the need for cachers to not spend ages solving this. Note for future finders... If you don't want the answer right away, don't look on the back TFTC.
Headed up to Christchurch on Boxing Day for a 3-4 night caching trip, have to be grateful that despite overseas travel plans scrapped for now, we can still move around our beautiful country. Chatting to friends and family overseas, I feel very blessed and want to make the most of our earned freedom. I find caching is a great way to unwind and allow me to recharge ahead of the marathon which will be 2021.
After driving the past couple of days I decided to just enjoy the sunshine and walk around the area and grab some caches. Its an area of mixed property types and you never know what you will find when you turn a corner.
Thank you to all of the cache owners for the caches enroute.
For this cache; an amazing cache, everything is there if looked, maybe if I had my towel to hand this would have jumped out a bit more. So cool, shame can only give it one fp.

* 20+ years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* All the 20s and now 21 as well!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!

The Guide is back up and running as intended.

'There you are,' gasped Ford, scrabbling for a fingerhold on the pavement as it raced through the Third Reach of the Unknown, 'I told you I'd think of something.'
'Oh sure,' said Arthur, 'sure.'
'Bright idea of mine,' said Ford, 'to find a passing spaceship and get rescued by it.'

My last and 4th day in Christchurch. Down from Auckland to mainly collect a heap of puzzles I have solved mainly in covid lockdown around March-April of this year. I'm on my own this trip which is unusual.
Got here in the pouring rain and it didn't take me long at all to get inside the mechanism... why? it's not working! The book opened not in the way the C.O has intended, which is a real shame, there was potentially much to do to get it open. So I was able to sign in just like that.

Team BOP on another crazy mission again to the South Island. Lockdown gave us a lot of free time that we directed into Canterbury’s many Geo-Arts and with the Auckland 2020 Mega postponement, Christchurch was an easy decision. Team BOPs current incarnation is DavidsonClan, NZFlossy, McJandals and myself and we’ve signed all the logs as Team BOP to save time and log space.
So Labour Weekend 2020, it’s a numbers mission and this is our final day. We have a lot of caches to choose from and we're looking to spend some of our freshly acquired favourite points. This cache certainly earns one of those - we loved this one. A little trial and error before we spotted the required combination. Cheers RogoWiz & TFTC

As Auckland Mega has been postponed we decided to do a trip south to Christchurch. Four of us from Team BOP joined up to share a car and accomodation. I always love these weekends as the company is great and makes our days and nights out caching lots of fun. We have done lots of puzzles in preparation and did some long windy roads to get them. Found lots of great caches and thanks to all the COs for the effort that goes into these Please excuse the copied logs and I will try to make some individual notes on as many as I can This sort of trip is where I find the cachly app very valuable. Last day today and started with this clever cache TFTC
With the Mega Covid cancelled this year a part of Team BoP decided to come south and try get all our solved puzzles, and some others along the way. So here we are today being our final day before heading back up North.
Great idea and well done. Fp.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these cache. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

(# 6035). Day 4 of my South Island odyssey. Today is getting caches around Christchurch as well as having a good look around. A quick find. Everything in order. I used to watch the series religiously. A well made cache. TFTC
Despite being a big fan of sci-fi (Red Dwarf, Star Trek etc), I just couldn't get into this series at all.
No matter, I was sure that this cache would be good. I had daughter with me and she quickly figured out how to get to the log.
TFTC and have a favourite for your creativity.

Great to find the “guide” in this unusual place!! We didn’t panic but quietly figured out the code and logged the cache! Thanks
We have normality. I repeat, we have normality. Anything you still can't cope with is therefore your own problem.
Don't Panic!
Cache container needs a little tender loving care.
Normality will return shortly.

Visiting my daughter in Addington for the Uni holidays so collecting some local caches. Looked forward to finding this one with all its “favourites” but sadly the cache did not appear to be functioning as intended. Found the cache which opened without any codes. Will message the CO. Thanks for the cache anyway.
Love it! Wondered what we had got ourselves into but with the helpful hint, log was located quickly
#18123. Solo caching today, catching up on some caches Troodles had already found. I had some notes in the GPS about how to get in, and it didn't take long to get to the log book. A fantastic cache! TFTC.
