A nice short walk in a chilly wind to get to this cache. A nice quick find and back to the car. Tftc Tmann.
Sunday is usually a day we use to do a shorter walk (read 4-6 caches max) to also have time to prep for the new school and kindy week. We picked this ridgeline track today hoping for a walk without too much scrambling about. We can absolutely recommend this walk. If you park at the waymarked carpark and walk in both directions there are wonderful views and it's a well manageable path. Some stiles across the farm but they are sturdy and well maintained, same as all the caches along the track! This specific cache eluded us at first, well Dad and teen didn't find it while the girls took a break (miss 4 year old needed a snack). on our return walk, while the boys scrambled for the tricky ones, we went first the long way around but then spotted the cache. It was exactly where the GPS said. No idea why the boys struggled
Found on our ridge walk. Not sure if we'll go any further today. Mrs Muggle will decide! All good at GZ and TFTC.
Thanks, tmann421, for placing this
" power trail " along the Pylon Trail!
Good views.. and not too windy.
Out with TrinityNZ today ; On holiday from Auckland.

Walking this track with Supernanny on a bit of a cold and windy Sunday. A huge difference to yesterday’s amazing sunny weather.
This is the third one we found on this track. A nice quick and easy find once close to GZ.
Thanks tmann421 for the caches on this track.

#11,777. I was up on the Kapiti Coast to do a multicache needed for a challenge I am working on. But on the way I decided to complete the other half of this track along the Pylon track that I started back in 2020. It was a bit drier at this end with a well formed gravel trail. Wandered up the hill and soon I was at the last cache in this series that I needed. Nice quick find. The logbook is a bit damp but the paper is still fine to write on. Signed and replaced where found. Thanks tmann421 for hiding it here and giving me the excuse to take in the scenery from a different angle..
Track up here is nasty from cows & rain. Spotted pīwakawaka and ducks. Quick find, TFTC tmann421!
Quick find, but log totally disintegrated. Was able to replace with a suitable new log. Tftc!
Got my pen out ready to sign but the log is falling apart. Have sent a photo instead. Enjoying my walk. Tftc
A walk up this pylon track while Mrs Popmac visit her auntie. The track was a bit wet at first, but good up top. Log was damp and falling apart. Thanks tmann421 for the cache.
A quick find and my first cache gathered as part of the "3, 2, 1 Go!" challenge. Realised when I went to sign the log that it is Friday the 13th today. Nothing spooky around here apart from the crackling noises coming from the pylons! The log sheet is a little fragile and torn, but signable. TFTC
Find #3079. A new track to me so a good excuse for a walk on a wet southerly day in Wellington - go north to finer climes! Though still a few showers and a cold wind!
Parked at the southern end and walked the return route, caching along the way.
Really long grass kept this one hidden longer than it should have but got there in the end. SL TFTC

We have been waiting for an excuse to do these caches on Bright's track and with the team China doll here from the UK this was the perfect excuse to do so. Little blue hen was keen to up her stepcount and by leaving a vehicle at each end of the track we completed the mission from North to South with ease.
Accurate coordinates and logically selected locations for the caches made for a very pleasant afternoon stroll. Tftcsl

Lovely walk with bkj97 and team China doll 47. Helped walk off lunch and prepare us for dinner. T4TCSL
The first day of our holiday in New Zealand and after lunch decided to do this lovely walk suggested by our caching friends Bkj97 and little Blue Hen. Having positioned the cars at either end it was a quick find for me. We are certainly enjoying the fabulous views of the Kapiti Coast and such a lovely walk. Signed the log and returned and continued our walk. TFTC
It's a very hot day today so we were happy to amble along slowly stopping to pick up these caches as we went.
This took a little bit to spot as it was well covered, but we got it eventually.
Thanks for another smiley tmann421

Cache # 4,593 - Thought I would escape getting completely wet on this one, as the rain had tapered off completely when I started. By the time I arrived at GZ, however, the rain and wind had picked up again, resulting in my being completely soaked on both sides by the time I returned to the car. All good for the cache, though. TNLNSL. TFTC!

One of five caches located on a walk along this track with the geohound this afternoon, although the ‘track’ wasn’t all that obvious in parts. However it was a pleasant jaunt, steep in parts, with good views. Made hard work of finding this one. If I’d looked properly in the first place I started searching, it would have been an easy find. On this occasion it wasn’t! #1960. TFTC.
TFTC! Never knew this track was up here. Good thing i wore my boots as they got caked in mud from the first part of the track. All relatively easy caches in good condition along the way
I didn't mean to go caching today. Was on a walk along the Bright Ridge Track when a few hikers that had passed me earlier doubled back and were staring down at their phones. I asked them "Are you geocaching?" and it turns out they were. "I bet the cache is over there" I said, and I was correct about that too. They let me borrow their pen so I could log the cache. Great day for a walk. A bit of a chilly wind though! TFTC.
I was out and about in Paraparaumu, making the most of a sunny day, and decided to walk along the Brights Farm track to try for all the caches along the way.
I hadn't been into the Nikau Valley for almost 20 years, and had not walked this track before, but all the caches along it were found with relative ease, and replaced exactly as found after being signed. The walk itself was certainly challenging at times, especially after some of the wild weather we've had over the last week, but I enjoyed the exercise and the views, so thanks for giving me the reason to discover it.

Bit of a slow pace for me up here today but all were found which is what counts. And another bites the dust here.

Had to wait for a muggle to pass before attempting this one. Another quick find - tftc
Thanks tmann421 for the cache. This is our find number 817 and we found it at 11:42 AM on 27 May 2018.
Great view from up here. Dog still enjoying his walk

It's a gorgeous day and we seem to have the track to ourselves. The constant buzz of the pylons was louder here but not something we have been aware of on the walk so far. Cache located without issue and we are off for a new view. TFTC
This was probably the only cache site on the track where I could not get too enthusiastic about the view. Once again, finding the cache was not difficult and I was soon continuing with my enjoyable hike.
Same story - another easy one... No muggles in sight so I could approach this one straight away with due care not to sprain an ankle Have to be more carefull than usual when caching with one eye
Thanks for the cache tmann421

I went along way to grab this one . All the way to pluto. This one pushes me to that magic 500 points. The two swallows dancing around me seemed to be celebrating with me. Anyway nice stroll in and straight forward find. But a fav for the milestone. Thanks for the cache.
I found it a bit hard to get enthused about about the view of the pylons although they are kind of unsual. The GPS led me directly to the cache as is usually the case with this CO provided there is good GPS coverage - which there is here. TFTC.
Easter Sunday, a gloriously fine, sunny and still day on the coast. We took the opportunity to visit this walk, hitherto unknown to us, and tackle the geocaches laid here.
We headed in from the Valley Road end, walking to Nikau Valley Rd and back.
This was our sixth find. Now we were enjoying the relative ease of the ridgeline walking and rewarded by further good views.
Straightforward find on this one.
Cache in order; log signed, then all safely re-hidden, just as found.
I visited here with team cacher zboy wonder.

This is a most enjoyable walk, with spectacular views in all directions. Despite occasional heavy showers, lasting only a few minutes, it's be perfect weather for this walk - no wind and quite warm Another quick find, and on to the next.
#9967. We teamed up with Flowerydaze to go on an enjoyable joint exploration of the Bright Ridge Skyline Track on the Kāpiti Coast this Saturday. The weather forecast was for scattered rain to develop from around midday. So we made an early start this morning hoping to enjoy some cloudy but drier weather before the expected rain arrived. We left one car at the Valley Road trailhead, and drove to Nikau Valley to make a start from there to head back to Paraparaumu at the other end. As it turned out, the scattered showers had arrived once we got out of the car at Nikau Valley. So we donned on our wet weather gear and Team Geocacher Mr T remarked that if we did that, the rain would surely stop. And so it turned out to be the case. After a short while, the showers had moved off and it was relatively dry for the rest of the walk.
The track and GZ were all quiet when we visited. Good view of the pylons. Quick find here. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.
Favorite point added for the series.

For a change, my phone decided to get a bit wobbly with the signal, so wandered around a bit before deciding on where GZ was. All good though, another smiley in the bag.
I came up the coast to clear this recently published series. A nice day for a walk and not being too hot this morning. A quick find and everything was in order. TFTC [Find # 4152]
I had a bunch of new and unfound caches on the Kapiti Coast so decided that as the weather was good I would spend some time today and knock off as many as I could. Parked the car in Valley Road and walked to the end of the track collecting caches along the way and then returned the way I had come. Another quick find here iin the second place checked. Signed log, TFTC
Second cache along this track I had to go back for as totally missed it the first time and then again on the return trip. Soon found. SL TFTC.
