**19,963**A super quick find before a small winery shuffle came down the hill - hope they havent started sampling yet, its not even 11am. Well I guess it is somewhere in the world! TFTC
Decided to head up to Picton for some caching. Impressive how many wineries there are in this series. Lots more for me to find! Straight forward park and grab. Cache and log all fine. Thanks for the smiley
Well, that was an interesting retrieval. I wonder what people thought when they passed by and saw two legs below the sign?!!
Heading to Nelson tomorrow for a few days of caching with other Wellingtonians.
Kia ora rawa atu for the cache GH6710.

Went for the normal and didn't find anything. Back to the GPS and doh, over there. Cheers
Hint seems very obvious when you get there. Nothing found, but wait what's that on the ground. Gave it a couple of rocks so it would be more grounded.
Quick find. Thanks for the plastic bag which kept the rain out. It gas holes in it so only for keeping the stuff in the box. Left in place with box upside down.

There was a vehicle waiting to pull out as we pulled in. Turns out it was probably the winery owner as they came over to see why we had stopped. We said we were geocaching and they told us where the container was. Lucky us. Anyway, waited until they were on their way then collected the very fragile container. There was no logbook so Andy went back and looked again and found more pieces of the container and the logbook. Found a ziplock bag in the car that would fit the container and contents so put everything in that. Needs a bit of tlc. Tftc

A nice quick park and grab. The lid is broken completely but islet upside down should be okay until replaced
It was sprinkling quite a bit, but I zipped over to find this cx. If only there had been a roof.
The top is broken, so I returned it upside down. TFTC.

Cache has cracked lid letting in rain but the log was surprisingly dry. Maintenance suggested. Placed log book in small plastic bag. Thanks for the efforts in creating the cache.
Found on a little jaunt to Picton to gather a few more yellow smiles. The container has deteriorated and needs attention. We didn't have one suitable to replace it. TFTC
Heading on a geo adventure with BCD to the top of the South Island...Picton, Blenheim, Havelock and Nelson.
Day 3
Have had 2 fun days exploring in and around Picton so now it's off to Blenheim. Quick find here along the way and I wonder if any passers by noticed a pair of legs in the sign?!?! TFTC

We've passed this cache many times but never had enough time to stop. Today was more relaxed time-wise so we were able to stop. The container has a cracked lid so things slightly damp but log book ok.
+ a marble, - nothing.

We're on our way back home to Christchurch with a few stops. This was one of them.
JDScout and I are spending a week in Picton. We have spent this week exploring Marlborough and finding a few geocaches. Thanks GH6710 for creating this hide. It was find 9522 for me.

On our way back to the ferry grabbed a few caches. We saw and talked to the cache guardian cutting the grass ready for us to grab the cache. Thanks CO for the series.
Found with @peadub while travelling home to Wellington after a stay at the beautiful Cape Campbell Lighthouse. Quick easy find, in fact the easist find today. Signed log and replaced where found. TFTC
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on day 3 of our 4 day weekend in and around Blenheim. Today we are heading to Picton, hoping that the predicted rain wouldn't eventuate. It didn't (apart from a few spots of rain) until we drove back to Blenheim late afternoon.
After spending the morning in Picton, time to take the scenic route back to Blenheim. This cache was better travelling south, and it was all quiet here today. TFTC.

#18608. Time to head back towards Blenheim. The ground near GZ was rather boggy, but I managed to avoid the worst of it. Quick find once at GZ. TFTC.
Thanks GH6710 for placing this cache

Had a quick trip into the Nelson/Marlborough region for a few days with a wee bit of time for some caching, But I will have tocome back so many to find, many thanks to all the cache placers - Bitsprayer
A good time to pick this one up as the place was closed, a quick find of course and all good. TFTC GH6710.
I was perusing the options for a few local caches as I had a bit on this Saturday and did not want to travel too far. So I settled on a casual 4 caches between Blenheim and Picton. A nice little drive for an hour and a bit, all found and in good shape. Thanks all.

Stopped off for this on our way past - quick park and grab. Shame the winery was closed. TFTC
#7800. Day 3 of my short holiday in Marlborough. I have a work meeting this week in Blenheim so I flew down early and rented a car to allow me to find the Marlborough TMGT caches and few other caches in the back of beyond. Today the mission was to do some caches in the Blenheim and Picton areas. I headed off down to the Wairau Bar first up to get the TMGT cache and now heading north to Picton. Its a lovely fine sunny day. Breezy but stinking hot. The car reached 34 degrees in the afternoon.
Stopped here on the drive north. Knew where the cache would be hidden having done a few in the Marlborough wine series now. Saw where the cache was hidden but reaching it that is a different story. Couldn't reach it from one position due to the winery closed sign occupying the key space so had to squeeze into a narrow space to grab it. Signed the logbook and returned the cache where found. Thanks GH6710 for the cache and today's yoga lesson.

Family holiday time...loaded up with bicycles to find some fun tracks. A couple nights Kaikoura, a couple in Blenheim & then finally a couple nights in Richmond.
After a couple nights in Kaikoura it's now time for a couple nights in Blenheim. After a nice mornings bike ride up the Taylor river to the reservoir this afternoon we were on a mission to find a river for a swim...MrsTG had seen something about a swimming hole in the Waihopai river so we were heading out to try and find it....Swimming hole found & swim had. Everyone happy. After a fish'n'chip tea in Picton and watching the Ferries leave it was time to head back to Blenheim for the night. Tooo many caches to try and get them all; but at least another one found and signed off. Cheers!

The first of four located today on our drive down from Wellington (via the Bluebridge ferry) to Christchurch. Decided on this one because the description gave the impression it would be a quick find. It was! #2896. TFTC.
We were off on what was meant to be a tour of the wineries…
Instead it turned into more of a cache tour with the odd winery thrown in - much more to my satisfaction.
Nothing beats a weekend in paradise – other than a weekend in paradise with friends, thanks for coming along for the ride Hayzz and Kimmy+co
Must say Jonanneshof is a great winery - cellar tour is amazing

The next one in the WoM series for me. The universe seemed against me on the way here. I downloaded the coordinates to the GPS this morning but unaware until I turned off the side highway onto this one that they hadn’t. That will teach me for not double checking the GPS before leaving home. No problem, out with the phone to find them. No data service. Really ??? Oh well, drive on a bit further to get service. Finally, almost at Picton some service. Absolutely bucketing down with rain now, lots of small rivers and lakes forming on the highway. Turn back, off to the GZ and found within 30 seconds. Phew. Grabbed all the TBs. Next is # 25. And this was the last of the 35 to get the jewels back to the vault in the Mystery at the Museum. Souvenir, tick.
A quick find as Mrs Sobad drove back from Picton to Blenheim with the hope of finalising the jewels for the recent challenge. We had felt we could only get the first 2 souvenirs until Mrs Sobad found some useful caches in Picton. Having left the trackables in the car before the previous cache the car was close enough to this one to add 2 to the cache.
Thanks.
Thanks.
It was wet. Very wet. I had to put on Mommy's gumboots to wade to GZ.
I was surprised to see water on top of the cache but everything was dry inside.

Neatly placed in a dry place, thanks GH6710. We have already visited this winery and its underground cellar -recommended!
Heading south after an early morning start, with hardly anyone on the roads. Quick find, TFTC!!
The winery was closed today, but the cache was there.

Quick find this afternoon with eltee291, crman1 and coastal martinis on our way back to Blenheim form Picton! Signed the log and replaced as found. Dropped off a tb to move along. Thanks for the cache, GH6710!
Found today with hingis20, crman1, and coastalmartinis. Have come frome Victoria, BC, Canada to visit with my daughter and her family in Blenheim and, of course take in some of the great geocaching here. Really great to be enjoying summer in January. TFTC
A quick and easy find. I need longer arms! Thanks

Great morning cache after a late night after our bluebridge crossing. TFTC . Nifty hiding spot
Today was part three of my road trip home to Nelson from Auckland, after picking up my son's "new" car from Napier, taking me from Wellington to Picton by ferry and then on home to Nelson, with time to find a just few more caches along the way, of course. Time to add afew more wineries to my finds. Cache wasn't where I thought it would be bus it was exactly where it was supposed to be. No trackable in the cache though. TFTC, Biggles.
Not having long enough arms and narrow enough around the waist to get closer to the cache, I needed tools to get the box out.. haha.. Nice hide though.

An extended lunch break had me in this neck of the woods in a last ditch attempt to get my Hidden Creatures tally up to Gryphon. At the beginning of this challenge I did an online survey to find out what type of caching creature I was and I ended up being a Gryphon, so I used that as a target to achieve. With what is going on in my life at the moment (Yes, I have another life beyond geocaching), there was no way I was going to get to the Earth Turtle, and besides, I'm a firm believer that the earth is spherical. I only need to get one more to qualify for Gryphon.
There was not much traffic on this part of SH1 this afternoon so there was no issue crossing the State Highway as warned on the cache page. The find couldn't have been easier and when I opened the container I discovered a geocoin, or more to the point a plastic sleeve that once held a geocoin and which had the trackable number written on it. There was no coin though. On logging the find later, I see the coin is still listed as being in the cache and looking at recent activity, I am wondering if the last finder with only 12 finds under his/her belt took the coin not knowing what they were doing. I'll discover the coin and do some more investigation.
Anyway, a QEF PnG.
TFTC GH6710 are you going to be back in town tonight?

Out with Grandson gathering a few local caches. What a great idea for a series of caches. Hope I have some time to gather up some more. SL. TFTC.
We were wondering what we were going to do to qualify for the latest hidden creatures challenge. We have been streaking for a couple of years so our supply of caches around Nelson are starting to thin out. We decided to come over to Marlborough for the weekend to make up the numbers we needed. We had noticed there were many park and grab type caches in this area so this is where we decided to target.
It was getting dark by the time we set off to find this one. So we were armed with torches and a good spirit for a bit of night time adventure.
For this one we used the car head lights to light up the area and GK made an instant find.
We left a TB
Thanks for placing this cache and thanks for the smilie

Off the ferry and heading south picking up a few drive by caches while travelling. Second one for the morning and another nice and quick cache. No problems with the find and the cache. Signed and returned as found. Many thanks for the hide.
It was part of the master plan to do this on Friday when it was on the right side of the road. That didn't work as just as we pulled over a guy came walking down the drive with a broom and began cleaning the sign. so we headed off on our travels. No worries today. TFTC
