After finishing work in the area, I thought I would go geocaching in the Ashburton area before heading home. I think I made 7 finds and 1 non-search with workmen onsite, not too bad.Well played here. Nicely hidden, except for the blackberries that I didn't see in the dark. Thanks for the cache, Cherry Slice 88.Hunter

We celebrated geodon's birthday today with a big party in Box Hill. Only yesterday did I realise it was also International Geocaching Day, so we had a bit of a conflict. After a nearby DNF we were desperate for a find and decided to try this one. Geopartner found one here many moons ago, but it must have been before this one was placed. The geokids jumped out of the car and started hunting. Geoson looked here first but somehow missed it. Not so geodaughter who looked quite like the cat who had got the cream when she showed me her find. Thank you for placing this one here for us. A favourite point from us.

It was time for another evening walk tonight after spending all day doing yard work. On my way back to the car I took a small detour to find this cache.

It took much longer for me to locate this one than it probably should’ve, as I spent more than 10 minutes searching. Eventually I realised there was one other point of view I hadn’t looked from and quickly found the cache. No idea how i hadn’t spotted it earlier, great hiding spot though!

Log signed and replaced as found.

Happy to report that the cache is in good condition and the log nice and dry.

My timing for this one was not great with a number of people leaving the premises. A quick discrete search yielded nothing so wandered off for a walk while people dispersed. Weather was drizzly but not to horrible. When I came back, coast was clear for a better look. Can’t believe I didn’t notice something so important on my first look. Log signed. TFTC

There were a few pedestrians to be aware of in the area around GZ. Our initial scan of the area didn't reveal any likely hiding spots however a closer look revealed a possible location and with further investigation I had the cache in hand. Nicely hidden. Thanks top Cherryslice88 for the cache.

29-Mar-23
This was a great hide, took a few minutes to locate, good job I have an umbrella in the car at all times.

Thanks Cherryslice88 for the cache. FAV from me.

28-Mar-23
I had two attempts at this today. One just chasing the GPS and then again after solving the poem. Great hint! It is a bit hard to spot from the footpath!

Wow! This was so cool. We were searching everywhere, but once we spotted it, it became so obvious! Amazing to find a spot like this to hide a cache. We loved it Cherryslice88!!

On the way home from placement and I decided to stop here for a cache. I worked out the puzzle and managed to find the answer fairly quickly at GZ. However on grabbing the cache I also grabbed some prickles from the nearby plants... ouch!
Thanks for the fun cache and the info about this church, it's fascinating hearing history of the places we visit!

19-Mar-22
Had a chat with the friendly minister visiting from India. We wondered what we were looking for. Had no idea what treasure was hidden under his nose. Briefly explained geocaching to him. Might be a convert! TFTC.

09-Mar-22
We walked up and immediately spotted something that didn't make sense to be where it was, a further investigation revealed us to be correct and had the cache in hand. Again the baby and dog came in handy for diverting attention away from what we were doing! TFTC! Super windy this arvo...

My first for 22/2/22 and how I loved the puzzle!! Nice quick spot and sign after the solve! Thankyou for this cache ️️

I found myself in the area for an event (Bernie H's 10,000 finds celebration). I had 2 of my kids with me but they stayed in the car as they were tired. It was late now 10pm and dark. Luckily there was some light here as I'm quite scared of the night.

I wasn't sure what I was looking for here. It was very intriguing. The poem was of no help. After 5 mins of searching I stumbled upon something. Thinking it was just part of the premises here, I dismissed it, opting to continue looking for another minute when I saw something else that made me think to revisit my initial find. Well now, isn't this a clever little devil of a cache. Oops, can I say devil I might have to come back for confession and ask for forgiveness for using such a word here.

There was a star hanging outside the doors of the establishment here beautifully illuminated in red light from something above the doors. Quite fitting for the Christmas festive season.

Thank you for the cache here Cherryslice88 A fav point from me. I really enjoyed it.

Found it!! Took a while but it was a fun cache, found a lot of the clues in the poem as well. TFTC

19-Sep-21
TFTC, managed to find it, a great cache!

14-Jun-21
Enjoyed the hunt for this cache! Julesc21 and I had a good search around near the coordinates but could not find anything resembling a cache. Perusal of previous logs didn't really help much. I then looked more closely at the cache description and 'solved' the poem, but that led us to completely the wrong place. We were just about to give up when Julesc21 had another look in a spot we had looked at before ( with the added knowledge) and immediately found what we were looking for. Great cache! +1fp.

14-Jun-21
Looked around for this one with Diana8 for quite a while. We solved the clue which led us astray for a while but did turn out to be useful. We were just about to abandon when one last look gave us success! Tftc.

Quick find after a nearby appointment and a magpie hanging around that wanted to know what I was up to. TFTC

Third time’s a charm!

On my first visit I circumnavigated one object but wasn’t game to explore further.

On my second visit I actually deciphered the poem and made a beeline for another object despite its being wildly off target.

I then tested out some ideas with the CO and realised there was a third possibility - the first object contained a second second object!!!

On my third visit I tested out the theory and bingo - the cache was quickly (and easily) found. Things are always easier when you look in the right spot and trust the coordinates Wink

It did make we wonder what the second second object was for. I guess its sole purpose is to hide geocaches!

Thought I’d pop into the church and see if I could say hi to an Ashy mate. Unfortunately it was all locked up at just after 5 on a Thursday afternoon. Maybe still COVID-related?

The karate dojo across the road was going strong though!

TFTC Cherryslice88 and thanks for all your help

Well we had a good look around
And we were  not to make a sound
Was it large or small or rectangular or round
Either way, it clearly was FOUND.

Deciphered the message within the poem, which helped as we approached GZ. The cache was quickly located in this busy area.

After a DNF elsewhere earlier in this outing (one of those caches that becomes a nemesis and you simply can't find, though I am becoming increasingly certain it is missing) it was nice to make two Cherryslice finds and then be on the way to, hopefully, a third here.

I consulted the terrific description and poem and worked out half the poem (I had options for the other half, that were not overly helpful). After the huge thunderstorm just before everything was rather wet, which did hinder the searching a little. After quite a few minutes I was beginning to despair and started to walk away. I thought better of it and came back for one last go. As so often happens this led to the discovery of something entirely new (and wet feet, but that is another matter). That entirely new thing, as it turned out, involved a geocache (this of course being the whole point of the exercise, so rather satisfying). A very nice and clever hide, worthy of a favourite point! TFTC Smile

Found @06:20 #7411
Well it took only 60 seconds to check some obvious spots to have cache in hand. A great approach to the hide for the location. A biy of rubbish and a big black spider seen nearby so watch out!

Day 150 of 366 completed

I had been to Caulfield and was heading home via Warrigal Rd when I noticed this cache on my GPSr, another of the CO's hides that I hadn't got around to finding yet. I parked a bit down the road and walked the short distance to GZ. I did a 360° rotation of GZ and noticed something slightly out-of-place. I couldn't see anyone in the businesses across the road but to be on the safe side I did the phone thing and then quickly grabbed the cache. I signed the log at 4:20 pm and then quickly returned the cache to its hiding spot. TNLN. I used hand sanitiser before and after finding the cache to stay safe.

Thanks Cherryslice88 for the creatively constructed and camo'd cache. I read some of the notices on the entrance to the church and it's good that with covid restrictions being eased there are several community Christmas events being held in the next few weeks.

Was on the way between jobs with my coworker, we searched around for a good 5 mins, then found it! My first one!

02-Jun-20
It’s a bit of a dreary day however the lure of the start of a new souvenir has drawn me out and this one seemed like I may not get too wet in an urban area.
Thanks Cherryslice88 for the poem- I’m in a boo club but may need to study more to understand poetry! Instead I used my geosenses to locate this one. It was a rather sad find with abandoned items nearby and as I thought to pick them up for the donation store across the road, I stopped, as I was a little scared of the syringes on the ground. Be careful when looking for this one.
Thanks for the hide

19-Mar-20
Felt a little uncomfortable poking around under the gaze of the upstairs architect across the road so called it a day.

Another time...

Found with Ravi. First cache for 2020 and found within a few minutes of searching. We did look in a big grey telephone box but only found what looked to of been black widows or red back spiders. Whatever they were I suggest search else where

Received the unsolicited but much-needed help of some random kids leaving the church who knew the location due to a large amount of stumped cachers. Being handed the cache by a muggle felt awkward and wrong but twas the way it unfolded.

Found by Facitman at 7:40
Another month and another last day find by Facitman!
It's the 30th so before I blow the months caching streak I quickly add a couple of caches to the day's agenda. A Monday morning is a good time for this cache as none of the described activities are underway and the shops opposite were, generally, yet to open.
Easy park and a quick search delivered me a find for the month of September 2019 so with a stroke of the Space Pen I was able to re hide the cache and continue with the day's activities.
Thanks Cherryslice88, a regular supplier of last minute caching targets!

17-Sep-19
After delicious icecream around the corner, I walked over to this one. A bit easier than what I was expecting, but I did fluke a very muggle free time. Thanks!

27-Aug-19
In the area hunting a few caches and this one was on the way home and as I was able to grab a parking spot I went for it. Walked to GZ where I had a good look around before the "aha" moment and the cache was in hand. Thanks to Cherryslice88 for this one.

Quick find today with the geokids as we made our way to Grandads soccer for the day. Many thanks for the cache.

Suscoe was up in Melbourne today for a few reasons and one of them was to find some caches.
The weather was pleasant for a Winter's day, started out very foggy and still and cold but as the day passed by the fog lifted, the temperature rose slightly and finally the sun broke through with blue skies.
We had a good run today with weekend traffic much better than weekdays.

Thanks to Cherryslice88 for this hide, Mrs. S spotted this one pretty quickly, there was beautiful singing coming from inside the building while we were here.

14-Jun-19
Found it this time. Sure it was missing last time. Cheers

11-Jun-19
Found it exactly where you said it would be. It was a nice bit of encouragement as we were heading back to have a second try at finding the Scarlet Pimpernel and we succeeded in that too! tftc

Spotted it inside a few seconds.
GPS reading was deadly accurate, which helped enormously.
Always nice work by Cherryslice88.

A handbag from up the road, a visit to the nearby opportunity shops with n0w0rries.
A bold hide to finish. One cleverly concealed confectionary container indeed!
Now over to Woolies, or "Safeway" as we will always know it.
Family dinner tonight for my birthday which was actually yesterday.
Thanks for the fun hide Cherryslice 88.

I came here about a week ago to try my luck but there were three kids with a scooter taking turns going up and down the driveway next to the building, so after waiting for a bit I went off and found a few other caches, came back here 40 mins later and... the kids were still there, still going up and down on the one scooter... and I decided to call it a day.

Today I had no such complications - visiting mid-arvo there was no-one to be seen. Started searching GZ with no clear clues from the poem, poked around everywhere suitable that I'd normally expect to possibly find a cache, but with no luck.

Re-read the description and poem, shifted my main search several metres closer to the footpath (somehow forgot the last para of description, which seemed pretty clear) and... still no luck.

Read the last few logs. Circled around a bit more. You've guessed it - still no luck. Decided that this was going to have to be a DNF and selected a different cache on my phone to go for. Started to walk toward the car... and realised I was literally staring right at the cache. Or what looked very much like a cache. Took two steps closer, reached out and... yes cache in hand.

Signed the log, thanks for the pretty bold hide, Cherryslice88. I have to admit though that, even having found this and with the benefit of hindsight, I still cannot see a connection to the poem. Oh well, got there in the end, anyway! Wink

Wow what a find. I had the pleasure many years ago to attend my great nephews christening at this church. It took Greytiger and I a while to find this sneaky hide. This hide gets a Fav from me. Cherryslice88 many thanks for this great day of caching. We return to the northern suburbs on the 903 bus and this weary traveller will sleep well tonight. TFTC.

What a day we have had caching, we came down from Lalor and Thomastown knowing after last weeks caching we will find some very good hides and amaali and I was not disappointed.
we enjoyed finding your caches and you have sent us home very tired but happy so again Thank you very much Cherryslice88 and I also enjoyed the poems.
Greytiger

Ps, amaali found this one I would have never have found it.

Wasn't expecting this one to be so easy, think the geosense just kicked in.
Have taken Lindy Hop and Balboa dance classes here for quite a few years and only just realised there is a cache here.

Very sneaky hide. We just had to be bold and look like we were meant to be there. Thanks for the cache.

Just following our GPSr today grabbing a few caches with omegaman1971 and we swung past the gz and had a look about. Luckily the area was muggle free and we soon had the cache in hand, a somewhat sneaky hide in a bold area, thanks again cherryslice88 for the hide .

New cache is on its way. The original cache has been muggled.

Had a DNF on this last week. Reread the poem and decided I knew where the cache would be. I returned but found no cache in my suspected spot. I was joined by parishoner Barry who knew there was a cache, but did not know where. He invoked the help of the Reverend who confirmed that the cache had gone. We have replaced the cache with a temporary one and I have signed my name on it and alerted the CO, who will replace the cache shortly. I had a lovely time chatting with the Rev and Barry and another parishoner and I am welcome at the church any time. Lovely!
