A short outing today to find a cache or two. Luckily I was able to find them before the rain hit.
This one took me a little longer than usual. I wasn’t sure my GPS coordinates were accurate so I was searching in a couple of places a few meters off from GZ. After not having any luck there I eventually narrowed in on the right spot. By this time the other half of peaches had decided to get out of the car and help search as I was obviously taking too long! It was at that moment that I spotted something that could be the cache. And it was! A fantastic hide. I really appreciate when people use natural camo/have sneaky hides.
TFTC and favourite point given.

Parked right here next to GZ i didn't have to wander too far to get this one, still it was about 3 or so minutes later till i spotted it. I had a time extracting it as the biggest black spider was evicted upon obtaining the cache so the next Cacher won't need to worry about it in all it's horridness ha ha Big Grin

Today we decided to find some more caches in the area while staying at the caravan park and this was one of them.

After a detailed search we made the find, sneaky and well hidden. Cache and contents were in good condition.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Had the day off today so decided to collect a few caches. After not finding this one two weeks ago we thought we would have another go today. Took about 5 mins of searching but found something that may have been out of place. Yep, that's it. Very nice hide. TFTC and a favourite point for this and the series.

Decided to do the Picket Hill and Leslie Vale walks today and picking up the caches in the area. Lovely spots to go walking. Well this one was tricky. We searched for 10 minutes or so the first time and then another 10 on the return trip but still no luck. After reading previous logs we thought we had a better idea but still could not find it. We were definitely cache blind with this one today.

Having now found most of the caches near to home (i.e. in the Kingston/Blackmans Bay area), out of necessity we've now begun consistently setting our sights further afield. We've had our sights set on this series for a little while, just waiting on an occasion when we had a couple of spare hours to walk the track. That opportunity came today.

We set out from the northern end of the track, not entirely sure what kind of walking experience to expect. Although we'd checked the map beforehand, we hadn't really appreciated just how close the majority of the track is to the adjacent highway. The constant traffic noise does diminish the rustic idyll somewhat, but we still liked what scenery we could find. We were also quite pleased to meet a few friendly horses (and their passengers) making their way along the track.

We managed to successfully find all five caches in the series, of which this was our last find. Like many before us we had some trouble tracking down this one, so we elected to continue on to #5 to allow us a chance to regroup before trying again.

On our first attempt, there were a couple of potential spots that we examined in great detail, including one that had a few great potential hiding places. But no matter what we did, no hint of the cache was to be found. Fortunately, inspiration struck upon our return from #5, and approaching the problem from a different direction revealed the cache embarrassingly quickly.

Definitely a clever hide!

TFTC!

Tassie Trip Day 77 - Toaday we traveled around the area trying to catch some more caches and see a few sights after which we shopped before going to the camp to prepare for our move day to burny island.

After arriving at GZ and being put in the wrong palce by the GPSr we soon mad some adjustments and found the actual GZ a well hidden cache was found then the all important paperwork carried out and it all returned to where it came from.

Thanks Team_Tas_Devil fro bringing us here.

Found on the second attempt where I thought it should be.
Thanks.

Hello Team_Taz_Devil thank you for the cache.

I was out caching with EeePees before going out to dinner down at Snug.
We stopped off here to find your series of vampire caches.

We had spent a bit of time trying to find this one on our way to #5 with no luck so on our return trip we had another go now with torches as it getting dark.
On the way in I spent most of the time searching on one side of the road on the way back out I searched the other side and after a while found the cleaver hide.

Hi Team_Taz_Devil, got it this time!
Out and about with AlbyDangles this evening but we failed to find this on our way through half an hour or so ago, just as it was too dark to search without a torch.
Having found #5, were back, very much hoping not to leave empty-handed.
Now, definitely need the torches, but AlbyDangles was soon onto this clever hide.
Thanks for the cache, and thanks for a series that offers a nice variety.

We were overtaken by our horse riding muggle as we made our way to this hide and although the path is quite wide the horse took up most of the available space.

Our GPS had GZ on the road so we used our cacher instinct to search a near by object - no luck. Off to the next likely object, again we came up empty handed. We moved up and down and across with no luck. Our horse riding muggle rode by for a third time and assured us that he was not stalking us. He was followed by a muggle runner and a muggle dog walker. After these interruptions we noticed that we were continually coming back to one particular object so decided to search very carefully and finally spotted a familiar looking object. A poke and a prod and we had the container. All was in good order. A really good little hide. Now it was back the way we had come and a second search for number 3.

Thanks for this cache Team_Taz_Devil and for the series. We will be back to find number 5 when it is reactivated. A favorite point for this one for a good hide and for the series.

Hi Team Taz
It was at this cache the muggles began working - a House Hash Harrier scared the ---- out of me just before getting to the road
A few more passed by as I was looking for the cache
It took a little longer to find this one than did those found previously
Sainted at 1910 hours
More House Hash Harriers walked past before I could re-hide the cache
Loving the walk along this track - didn't know it went this far nor that it is so good - often drive by the first part on the way to the big smoke from the Huon. Avoiding the horse droppings has been my only worry as I've trekked from one cache to the next.
TFTC and cheers

We had been in the Huon Valley earlier today and decided on the way back to Hobart to check if this cache was a drive by and luckily for us it was. A quick find was made by aus2 of this very good hide. Thanks for the cache. We also agree with you that Leslie Vale is a lovely area.

Out and about caching with ausandaus2.
Thanks Team_Taz_Devil for the cache, a clever hide.

We came from Ferntree via the Bush Bakery so this was the first stop in this series. I'm not conventional and do things my own way!
What I liked best about this one was the fact we could get so close on such a wet morning. Yeah ok the hide wasn't bad too Wink. Finding this one set the scene for the caches style and I assumed what to look out for.
I hope it doesn't get too wet for the walk to number 5 and back.
Thanks for the cache

Well, between the muggle guy checking the earthing in the power pole and me totally not looking in the right place, I ended up PAF because I'd been here for a good half hour.
Finally! Thanks for the cache!

After teaming up with Membsec we drove down to this one where Membsec had already searched but I had not, this time the cache was found in less than 5 minutes and again we were both pleased to find a blank log another {*FTF*} this morning.

Thanks for the caches

Saw the caches appear last night and as we had thought about a trip this way today decided upon an early foray. Decided to go to the "far' end first but after a 15 minute failure decided to go to number 3 to see if that may help in understanding the thinking. Returned here after meeting stainless-steel at number 3 and after a short time decided on a possible hide. Located a bit of a hint of colour and then extracted the container with small tool. Delighted with the joint FTF. Clever hide.
