out collecting something local and saw the memorial on the way in so glad we had to stop on the way outoh there you are ... very clever
After completing the nearby AL we were driving past this on the way home.I must have had cache blindness, but after a short search, Barb came up with the prize.Signed as Team B.TFTC

Found this one while at the location doing an AdLab. It took me a bit of searching to find the container as my GPS was telling me it was behind a nearby tree.I found a photo that gave me a clue and soon enough the container presented itself. All was good with it.TFTC
I headed here in the rain today. I had been here years ago for another cache and to pay my respects to those tragically died on that fatal train ride. I popped out and headed over and poked a couple of places and the cache came to hand. Signed the log and returned to where I found it. Thanks for the cache find Fangsoki. All good with this cache.
We visited this area on occasion of a CITO event in July and went afterwards on a geocaching tour.
We found this cache and signed the log.
Thanks for this cache, Fangsoki

Geo daughter had a party to go to this afternoon which left me with a 4 hour window of me time. Planned a georide from Ferny Hills through Samford conservation park, along Samford rail trail, up and over Camp Mountain, down to Bellbird grove and back through upper kedron. Lots of pushing geobike up hills but had a great time. TFTC
Boy oh boy, I'm sure getting a workout today. Very early start and we arrived at the carpark and set off upward and further upwards to attend tthe Maker Magic Event and caches in that area.
All that done now is time to do some easier caching so off we went in a much smaller group.
This was a far easier find, log signed by all and cache replaced as found.

Fangsoki I found your cache The Fate of Train E91 on 30/5/2023, 12:05 pm. This is my find 5459 and find # 3 today. Found it after a brief search. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Very interesting reading about the history of this terrible tragedy. Nice hide! Thanks for the cache!
Looked for this twice before so took a fresh set eyes to help me. Legend spotted it almost immediately.
Having completed all my weekly chores on Saturday, Sunday morning was my free time to get out and attack a few caches that I had ready to find out this way. I loaded up the Geowagon with all the necessary TOTTS and headed out.
After parking the car I quickly identified a likely ground zero and checked out all potentials and eventually came up with the goods. A quick signing and I was soon on my way to turning this into a smilie.
A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available.

I don't usually spend a long time out on the bike in summer, but today was a nice cold wet day. I started at Samford fairly early this morning and arrived back just after lunch. It rained on me several times but that just helped keep me cool, and I pedaled just over 40km for the morning.
This was a stop while doing the AL that is about the train disaster. Nice and easy to do on the bike. Only about half a dozen spots left in the log CO if you happen to be passing.
I had found the old cache here, but I believe this is the first time I have pedaled along here.

Thought it was my first time on this road but possibly I was here on a rural safari in 2022 as there was a familiar object.
This was a quick find.
Thank you for hiding

It was time to get out of the house and my wife asked where I wanted to go. I looked at the map and decided that it was time that I cleared the caches of the map in this area so we headed off. It is a 45 minute drive from home to get here
I had taken the stroll along the rail corridor and then headed to this spot.
I must have brought the wrong glasses today as I had to call the CO for narrow down the search area and then (of course) I spotted it quickly.
TFTC Fangsoki I have always been intrigued by this tragedy.

A quick find here today after completing the AL. Looked in the wrong spot to start with, soon had it in hand.
Thanks Fangsoki for the cache.
Thanks Fangsoki for the cache.
After spending a few hours geocaching with IolantheK today, first The Cursed Pistol and then a few others, I decided to finish the Camp Mtn AL and this one of course was close by. After a short time scanning the area, I spotted a familiar item. Tftc
Out with geo grandson from Canberra, younger eyes always make the difference TFTC
Found on a day out with Teamnanabombana. Travelled up from Canberra for the weekend - felt like a blissful summer day today, TFTC!
Proud to find my first Fangsoki cache. And on my own. Out chasing a lab cache thing and getting steps up.
Out and about with 1Minniemoo for a bit of an adventure.
We weren't quite successful on our quest but we did find some adventure labs and a couple of caches.
I had wanted to visit this one for a while so 1MM stopped here for me.

Found with bennyboppers and mnance101 today after doing the labcache. Short search. Tftc
We woke up to another beautiful sunny day and with no commitments until later this afternoon we decided to try and grab a few more adventure labs and hopefully anything else that came along.
We are doing the adventure lab around this terrible train accident that we had known nothing about until today. We can't imagine what it must have been like to be on the train or the poor driver trying to manage the situation.
This is the second Queensland cache we have found at a site commemorating these crashes and we hadn't heard of that one either.
Embarrassingly we had a couple of laps around this location before the relatively obvious cache was spotted and we've added our name to the log and returned all as it was.

Found at the completion of the AL.
Great ride out. Never would’ve know about this if not for the cache. Made locating the cache harder than it should’ve but found it in the end.

I remember the previous cache that was here. Interesting but sad story too. I followed the directions of the clue and soon was writing in the log. TFTC
My wife and I were making our way to Camp Mountain. We were just really interested in whether there was a mountain here or a place to camp. Since when did the word “camp” become a semi-deregatory word for a lame place? I suppose that I’ve been on a few camps that were pretty lame so I can make the connection.
I’m not opposed to people that enjoy the camping life style. My only question for those people is how do they keep their beer cold? Ice can only so far, although in fairness there are quite a few beers produced these days that would be better suited as oil lubricants than imbibed chilled.
I was all prepared to go up behind the memorial when Mrs Woodyrothwell pointed out that the cache description said we didn’t have to. I really hate it when logic spoils your fun. tftc

What a lovely area this is and interesting but sad history to this place. At GZ i read that you dont have to climb up to the site so that left not many spots to look and i soon spotted a familiar cache. Thanks for taking me to this interesting spot and for placing this cache here for us to enjoy.
This morning Skyline_Pigeon and I went for an 8 km round trip walk from home and got a few caches including this one. Very interesting historical event and a lovely easy walk. TFTC
Today, with geocaching partner busy with a medical appointment over lunch, I decided to take a few hours in picking up a few geocaches around Camp Mountain and then returning via Samford Conservation Park. I was anticipating heavy rain all day, thus planning on a few home garage projects, however, the rain held off, thus allowing geocaching outside rather pleasant. Several nice parks and creative wingaap geocaches were found, making it an enjoyable outing.
I had visited an information plaque just up the road on Fernway bikeway some months ago, and so it was interesting to see this memorial here too. A tragic train accident back in 1947, and hopefully there are enough systematic learnings implemented, that those fatalities weren't in vain. I then started to search for the cache, and I needed a little walk around before eventually seeing the nicely camouflaged cache. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Fangsoki for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

This was a sad tale and one I'm glad a cache has been created for.
Yeah probably igneous is the word auto-corrected in the hint.
Found with three intrepid adventurers.
Thanks fangsoki for showing us this sombre memorial with a geocache.

Out for a coaching day adventure with E_Smiley and smallwombat. This was a beautiful area to be driving through, and we stopped to read a nearby plaque before looking for this one.
It was smallwombat whose beady eyes spotted this one, and we soon had our names added to the log.
Thanks Fangsoki

Second find along this track today. Also introduced some muggles to the game of geocahing.
This is such an important part of local history. Imagine what Samford and Dayboro would look like now if the train line hadn't be pulled up. Unrecognisable.
Thanks for giving us more reason to stop along this walk.

Well my muggle friend was stumped here with this one. Had even held it with out knowing.
A very interesting bit of history here. Our visit only 1 day from an anniversary (a sad one though.) My muggle friend spent most of our drive home researching this tragic event.
A great cache placement. Thanks Fangsoki for showing us this place.
Another great reason to geocache, Well I don't really need one. Jus love the hunts.

After a busy week we were after something nice and quick and most importantly on the way home. A short detour and this one was in the bag.
Startling, isn't it, how quickly a good ol' train ride to a picnic can turn into a phenomenal disaster. And it never ceases to interest me the abandoned and removed train lines that are now the same alignment as a few streets or a track through a bush at best. But how wonderful we can at least trace them, and places like this are memorialised. And even better, a keen geocacher to bring us here, with the story!
Not so long ago, I realised I am dangerously close to having found all Fangsoki geocaches. Makes sense, given how often our paths overlap! And so I figured I should make an effort to collect the full set. Gotta catch 'em all or whatever. Just across town, this would be an easy little putting to find some day.
This afternoon with very little going on, I felt the need for a drive, so after consulting a few maps, I headed finally for this geocache. Truth be told, I had plans to find it earlier this month when passing by, after realising it's roadside, and not the usual hike I've come to expect/ But alas, I did not.
Quickly I pulled in to check out the site of the Camp Mountain Station and found precisely nothing there that indicates as such on the ground. Very well then, onwards to the crash location. I parked up and wandered over.
It'd be rude to not reflect on the story that unfolded here. I read the plaque, then sat and read through the story on the listing once more. I just can't even imagine the scene that must have played out that day.
Well then, onto the geocache. It did take me a minute to find. But I knew it when I spotted it. This, dare I say it, is the exactly right way to hide this type of geocache. It's needed here and blends in perfectly where little else would. And inside was in perfect condition. I signed my name and replaced as found.
And that's it, I drove across Brisbane just to visit this spot. I am glad I did and very glad a mate has a geocache here to mark the occasion with a smiley. Thanks for this geocache, Fangsoki

Great cache, probably took a bit longer than it should’ve. Found with Erm_the_Worm and CatMother06. TFTC!
Out and about on my bicycle.
This one took some searching to find it as it very well hidden under leaf litter.
Thanks for the cache,

Thanks for the cache,
We had some time Sunday morning to knock off a few caches and we had seen a cluster around Camp Mountain, two of which were needed to complete the tic tac toe grid. The dog needed a walk and so elder son and I headed off. Having completed the first of those on the target list, the dedication cache, we were on the way to the second cache, which was “ghost train” . On the way the youngster asked if we were finding this “fate of train E91”. We pulled over to consult the map and confirm whether this had been found previously. After reading the cache description I now understand that it was “derailed” that I found many years ago, probably on my own.
So I was now able to find the new cache at this spot with my son with me, so together we read about the sad history of this place. We then set about looking for the cache. After a while, I inevitably asked if there was a clue. Very helpful and it was greatjustgreat that spotted the cache. The Dry log book was signed and returned to where found.
Thanks for keeping this dedication plaque as a cache location Fangsoki, we would easily have driven straight past without something to find here.
Thanks for the cache.

Last stop for the afternoon for our quick drive around the Samford area. We have been researching the train crash for a few weeks now after first hearing about it when we discovered the old train tunnel north of Samford. We had targeted this cache so we could pay our respects and to see the site of the crash itself. Such a fascinating part of the history of the area. Reading the stories of the survivors and the families affected online has been very moving and also hearing about some of the ghost stories associated with the train line, crash site and train tunnel has also been very interesting.
We had read a myth that you can sometimes hear a train whistle while standing at the memorial site. No train whistle for us today but thinking about the people who died made the mood a little sombre. Thanks Fangsoki for highlighting this tragedy for the caching community to learn about. RIP to those people who lost their lives and a feeling of sadness to all who were affected by the disaster.

Well that was more than I was expecting... thanks Fangoski for maintaining this cache I really appreciated the historical aspect of this locale...
Cheers Fangsoki for keeping this cache alive. It is an important memorial for the history of Queensland. A good cache too!
Took a little searching, but found it.
Wondering if indigenous should be igneous ??
Micro - shiny & new.

Out with Selva Girls today to get my 3000 find. This one was first up. Been here once before I just couldn’t find it. This time I was here with previous finder.
Was a quick find.

Nice morning for a walk so headed up to camp mountain. On the way passed this one have been here before with no luck. Noticed it has just been replaced so thought I’d have a look. Hmmm still no luck so sent a message to to the CO. I then headed up the hill to continue my day. A reply came back very quickly.
After my camp mountain hike I headed back past this one again armed with a little more information I began a search really this is a tough one poking this with a stick finally revealed a new cache WOW I really didn’t see that some great camo
Thanks for bringing me here

This cache has grown legs apparently.. camo and all.
Will get back up and going ASAP.

What to do when you win 2 free scoops of gelato in a cafe 45 km away from home ? Take the geohounds on a caching walk to earn it of course, and this was one of our lucky finds in this forest
Thanks for the walk Fangsoki

DNF didn’t want to make any mess at the memorial seems disrespectful best left unfounded
No luck for us today. We found the faux indigenous items as per clue but no cache revealed itself.
Indeed...a spot worthy of a cache. A well concealed hide. Cache found dry and in very good condition. Thanks Mr Fang
We like rail history and enjoyed reading your Description above.
While visiting Injune we ‘found’ the loco involved in this incident.
We remember the previous cache that was here but never found it. It was archived soon after we visited.
Happy when we saw this cache was re-placed and today we found it.
Thank you Fangsoki - love it.

The local councillor informs me that the memorial may get some attention soon. Not sure what kind of attention - but we will see. Hopefully the cache remains in place.

'Twas Christmas morning and all through the house not a creature was stirring, not even my birds. And then there was this little mouse...
I was on morning taxi duty to collect Omen Innuendo from house sitting so he could join us for Christmas breaky. And of course there may have been something in it for me too.
Today was the day. The day when all good caching behaviour pays off. The day I finally fill my calendar.
A look at the map last night determined which cache I should do, so after collecting Omen Innuendo, it was time for a detour. Out we headed to an area rather familiar to me - the CO knows why my familiarity with this particular GZ too (yes sir i haven't forgotten about it, things just take time ).
Anyway, pulling up at GZ I climbed out with my Christmas hat on, feeling more zombie-like than Santa-like after only a few hours nap, and began looking around. Thankfully even zombie me can manage a cache find today, and I was soon signing my name. Merry Christmas to me, goal achieved!
And Merry Christmas to the CO too! Thanks for the cache Fangsoki and for the recognition this spot and it's even deserves.

After a couple of weeks stuck indoors with too little exercising, and too much peoplising, I needed to address both issues. This afternoon I hiked nearly 10kms, enjoying the light breeze and lovely trees. And not interacting with a single of them humans. Plenty of birds, an owl even, a few lizards and skinks, one bored wallaby and a little snake.
With the first half of my hike done I headed out this way and nabbed this one along the way to the next. I've been wanting to get here all year and finally have for a quick find as advertised. A fitting tribute to a most notable event in Brisbane's history. A tragic tale indeed.
Thanks Fangsoki for entertaining me at this location.

Monday. A lovely tribute cache to a terrible event so many years ago. I’ve heard many stories about this train wreck so it was moving to be at the spot where it occurred. Cache was found quickly and log signed. Thank you Fang, for placing a cache here at this spot so that we could be at the location where this event occurred. We even managed to find a beautiful pheasant and kookaburra who were watching over us.
This was the 5th of 12 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***Fangsoki***, for showing us this place.
